TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has completed a new phase in its Arak heavy-water reactor plant, a presidential official said on Saturday, referring to part of Iran's atomic program which the West fears is aimed at producing bombs.The official said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would give a speech later in the day "announcing that the heavy-water project has become operational".

I guess this is the surprise that the iranians said was coming a few days ago.
Well, that heavy water plant is totally above ground, and can be taken out with a few missiles.
But I'm betting Bush, and Israel, do nothing.

Actually, this jihad threat to the west is much more insidious than the Nazi threat for they have two leverages the Nazis did not:
1. oil
2. religion
This whole sanctions thing will not fly because China and Russia won't go along with it, and UN sanctions will not stop this regime anyway. Look how long it took to get the South Africans to cry uncle. UN sanctions just means that we won't trade with them. It does not mean that they can't continue processing uranium - which, as I understand - is supposed to be the whole point of the sanctions!
So, seeing as sanctions can not be imposed, and even if they did, would not stop this nuclear program, what then does the world think WILL work?
Only force.
Which is not going to happen. Everyone is just hoping the bomb never materializes and the Iranian regime just goes away. It's so frustrating. They are coming closer to a bomb everyday, while world leaders just eat, shit, sleep, and repeat.

The bombing of the dams in Germany was meant to paralyze the hydro-electric plants providing electricity to the war production factories in the Ruhr valley. The Nazi heavy water program was based in Norway near the town of Rjukan.
