The Hizballah News Agency, aka Reuters, titled this one "Iran says won't back down over atomic rights," but I think that "rights" thing might be just a bit too strong.
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday Iran would not yield to Western pressure to give up its home-grown nuclear technology. His comments came days before an August 22 deadline Iran set itself to respond to a demand by six world powers that Tehran give up uranium enrichment in return for economic and other incentives. Iran has so far shown no signs it will accept.
"Today, we are fully mastering the nuclear fuel cycle for our peaceful atomic activities. It is a native technology... No one can take it away from us," Ahmadinejad said in a televised speech to a rally in the northwestern city of Ardebil....
"The Iranian nation will not yield to pressure but is ready to resolve the nuclear issue through talks," Ahmadinejad said.
Talks, sure. As long as no one asks them to give up the nukes, they'll talk all day.
Here's how I see it. Iran KNOWS that world attention would naturally come back to them now, so they have made the first 'gesture' so that it takes the heat off of them....YET, once again, they mention 22 August.
I see mentioning August 22nd is a threat which is veiled from the walking dead (lefty-liberals and champagne socialists) but VERY understandable by Muslims and those of us who know the significance of 22 August.
If all hell doesn't break loose between now and the 22nd, then I expect MAJOR events on the 22nd.
Get your pantries stocked, get first aid kits, get refills on your scripts and put petrol in your vehicles, etc. You can't bee too ready and you CAN be totally unprepared.
I hope you can say...GOOBS, you were WAY off, after the 22nd, but I don't think this is going to be the case.
So what does Psalm 83 say about Israel in these last days?
"O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still. For, behold, thine enemies make an uproar; and those who hate Thee have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Thy people, and conspire together against Thy treasured ones. They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more." For they have conspired together with one mind; Against Thee do they make a covenant: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; they have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.
Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera and Jabin, at the torrent of Kishon, Who were destroyed at Endor, Who became as dung for the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, Who said, "Let us possess for ourselves the pastures of God."
O my God, make them like the whirling dust; like chaff before the wind.
Like fire that burns the forest, And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with Thy tempest, And terrify them with Thy storm. Fill their faces with dishonour, that they may seek Thy name, O LORD. Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever; and let them be humiliated and perish, that they may know that Thou alone, whose name is the LORD, art the Most High over all the earth."
SO THEN, this is THE fate of Israel's enemies.
Israel will suffer greatly first, but God will save for Himself a remnant. PITY the poor fools that come against Israel. Bye Babylon (Persia), bye Damascus, See ya Egypt!
People will by dying to get the results of his atomic activities.
People will be dying because he wants to SHOW us the results of his atomic activities.
It now appears Iran is closing down the contact from the outside world.
Police in Tehran Remove Satellite Dishes
August 15, 2006

The police raided rooftops in a residential neighborhood of downtown Tehran and removed more than 100 satellite dishes from apartment buildings. The newspaper Kargozaran reported that a crackdown against satellite television had already begun in at least three other provinces, Gilan, Isfahan and Kurdistan.
Satellite dishes — widely used to watch opposition Persian-language programs beamed mostly from the United States — are prohibited by law, but previous governments rarely enforced it, acknowledging that the dishes would sprout back every time the authorities tried to round them up.
The government has also increased pressure on activists, most notably the banning this month of the rights group Center for Protecting Human Rights, led by the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi.
I think something big is brewing. When you cut off the outside news you must be hiding something from your own people.

I agree. Hopefully, it will just be a firey speech, and incendiary language. On the other hand, Goobs may have the right idea. I need to get a battery for my Radiation Survey Meter.
My local sporting goods store was completely sold out of .308 NATO ammunition Saturday. They had everything else. So, I just walked out. But somebody is certainly stockin' up even more than I am. Wonder who? Hope it's not the mosque.
I keep hearing Iran's Maximum Leader talk about his right to pursue nuclear power. He hasn't exactly claimed it to be for peaceful purposes in several weeks, however. I do wonder if this is a change, or if it is my oversight, etc.
But, I have never heard where that peaceful nuclear reactor is supposed to be. Given the lead-time in construction, and the rapid advance in their processing of uranium for peaceful nuclear fuel, the country should be over half finished on the peaceful reactor by now. Where is it? There should have been inspections by the IAEA and others of the design, the early pours of concrete, the containment vessel, the cooling system, the turbines, etc., etc. There has been nothing but silence. Hasn't the media, in all its collective wisdom (and with plenty of environmental anti-nuke folks to call on) figured out whether or not a reactor really exists? Hello? Anybody home? Anybody care?
And the war goes on.
Goobs, when the bright flash comes, look away. If you're not already on fire, you will have about nine seconds to take shelter before the blast hits.
