Iran on Sunday test-fired a surface-to-surface short-range missile a day after its army launched large-scale military exercises throughout the country, state-run television reported."Saegheh, the missile, has a range of between 80 to 250 kilometers (50 to 150 miles)," the report said. It said the missile was tested in Kashan desert, about 150 miles southeast of Tehran, the capital.
Saegheh means lightning in Farsi.
I am not in the LEAST bit surprised by this information.
Iran knows that if they were moving troops or missiles, etc. prior to any strike, it would be picked up by our sattelite technology.
What better way to get ready for a strike than to tell the world that you are conducting 'military exercises'.
Its all TOO convenient that this is being done IMMEDIATELY before 22 August.
I also find their comment about giving a 'multi-faceted' response to the internation proposal on their nuclear program VERY telling.
They say this at the very same time that they tell the world they "will not halt enrichment".
So then, HOW obvious does it have to be?
I suspect that the missile tests in North Korea were not for the North Korean military but rather was paid by the Iranians and permitted to take place on their soil. This way, Iran can test the missiles without it being OBVIOUS that THEY are the ones getting ready to use them.
Speculation I know, but still it fits perfectly.
Tomorrow, we could well see attacks on our bases in the Pacific AND in the middle east. The third world war may well begin tomorrow. The saddest part is that Russia has a defense pact with Iran and Syria. China wants the oil in the middle east. Hold on folks, it could get really ugly.

According to the marij, or however it is spelled, the story takes place on the night before the end of the month of mordad. So that would be the night of the 21st. It will be during nighttime hours as that is required to "light up" the sky. So my prediction is the night, local time, of the 21st.

Multi-facated response...multi-warhead delivery systems...multiple targets in the region and North Korea. I am stocked up on nonperishable items,water and gas. Have to clean my guns and take ammo inventory tonight. Then sit back with a cold one and see what happens. I think everyone should be very watchful just in case.

Don't be surprised if Iran stages something similar to what Himmler did on the Polish border in August 1939. In a little-known operation code named "Canned Goods" SS operatives set up a sham attack on Germany and blamed it on Poland, thereby justifying the 9/1/39 invasion of Poland. Ahmadinewallace is not above this type of covert activity to stimulate a military action. Invading a neighbor to once again 'test' world response would be fun for him. Heck, he's learned from his recent war in Lebanon that all the West cares about is cease fire, not victory. Plus he's got Reuters et al on his side - what else does he need? Maybe a new saddle for Buraq.
You could all be right, on the other hand sabre rattling like this has always been a large part of diplomatic negotiations. Personally I dont know. But I will be watching closely the next couple of days.

bcore1973, I have also considered this a real possiblity in light of Iran removing all the sattelite dishes from people's rooftops.
This is one way of preventing the Iranians from knowing if Iran makes the first attack. If Iran then was to receive a counter-attack, they could...on their state run news....claim that they have been unjustly attacked....which would help to 'fire up' their population for war.
Anything is possible with liars.
I'd be interested in any other theories as to why Iran has made sure that the Iranians cannot see international media.

They (iran) are also conducting massive military exercises. I seem to remember historically many times in the past exercises were used to cover preparation for invasion. I’m not in the military anymore but I would hope they are watching for them to press into iraq to help the shi’as against the sunnis. In reality I would hope they are that dumb as we could smack them with quickness but someone should be watching nonetheless. Whatever they are up too, just get it going, I hate to wait.

For missiles of this range capability to hit Israel , they must be moved to Jordan or Syria. We know missiles are in Syria, How about Jordan?

I fear it will be much worse. He'll announce that Iran has nukes. This will be the end result of three or more years of spineless appeasement and evasion courtesy of Western politicians and diplomats - people who might be used to dealing with the like-minded Pimms and braces brigade of the university old school, but are no match for the rogue cunning of a Hitler (a la Chamberlain) or an Ahmadinejad (a la 30 or more Western leaders).
