August 1939 Alert: "Iran cleric calls on Muslims to arm Hizbollah," from Reuters, with thanks to Twostellas:
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Muslim nations should arm Hizbollah in its fight against Israel, Iran's influential hardline clerical politician Ahmad Jannati said on Tuesday....Israel accuses Iran of providing Hizbollah with missiles used against civilian and military targets.
"We are expecting Muslim nations to provide various kinds of support, including arms, medicine and food to Hizbollah," he told the students news agency ISNA.
Jannati heads the Guardian Council, Iran's constitutional watchdog composed of six clerics and six hardline lawyers.
We have become self righteous to the point that it is making us stupid.
Give this and that away to make the poll number go up. After all it not their money. It's the tax money.
forget political correctness--LOCK AND LOAD
We need to be prepared to help Israel. With our equipment, people or supplies. Anything that tries to be shipped into Lebanon from Syria...KABOOM! Anything into Syria from somewhere else...KABOOM!
Our civilized world needs to advise Iran, that ANYTHING of mass destruction coming out of there or anywhere directed at Israel or us, and the black rock in mecca is gone. This is all they understand.
Until we , the civilized world, make them understand that we won't put up with this anymore, we CAN be just a violent as they. And can also get down and dirty as they play.
the west always has been confused (stupid), only found itself and did something when seriously under threat (D-Day), but this time it might be slightly different...

Every single day another reason for letting the Shi'a and the Sunnis go at it, as go at it they must, for the Sunnis will never permit all the oil wealth, and what it brings, of "Iraq" to be appropriated by the Shi'a Arabs, appears. What does it take to get those who make or approve, or withhold approval, of policies, to see this? Of course there is embarrassment. Of course there is obstinacy. Of course wishing to see the various vilayets reemerge as the true Iraq, and to see men, money, materiel, and attention -- all of it from circumjacent Muslim states, none of it from the United States -- is not something the Administration need openly desire. It need only find a reasonable facsimile of an excuse, then fax that reasonable facsimile to everyone everywhere.
What is that "excuse"? That "excuse" is:
1. In Iraq there has developed -- it is time for all of us to recognize, a profound civil conflict over the distribtuion of power and wealth in that society. We cannot, of course, intervene to tell Shi'a how they should use their power, or to tell the Sunnis what new arrangements may be necessary for them to accept. We cannot dictate to the Kurds what is the minimum amount of autonomy that they would be willng to accept, after they were for so many years the victims of mass murder by the forces of the Iraqi state. In order to make sure that a clearly dangerous dictator did not possess, or was not well on his way to acquiring, the armed forces of the United States entered Iraq, removed that dictator and his entire regime so that they would never again pose a threat for the people of Iraq, espcially the Kurds and the Shi'a Arabs, nor to their neighbors, two of which [be careful here not to name "Iran"] had been invaded by Iraq.
And there was something else that, at the encouragement of so many Iraqis in exile, so many who had spent decades fighting for a free Iraq [Speechwriter's note to Bush: well, actually most of those whom the Americans knew were sophisticated, westernized, secular in-name-only Shi'a who had spent decades in the West, and not only had lost their sense of what Iraq, and what Muslim masses were really like, how they thought, how they reacted, what sense they made of things, how they behaved toward Infidels and what kind of concentric circles depicted their varying degrees of loyalty (to family, tribe, ethnic or sectarian identity, but not, save in a handful of cases, to something called "Iraq"), but thought only of getting rid of Saddam Hussein.] We've done all we can. We have spent, or committed, nearly $400 billion dollars. We organized the first free election in the Muslim Middle East, in a country that for decades has been under one military dictator or despot after another. We arranged fo the Iraqis to draw up a Constitution, and then to hold a vote on that Consitution. We have seen an interim regime, under Mr. Allawi, and then the first elected leader, Mr. Jaabari, and now there is a legitimate leader of the Iraqi people, Mr. Al-Maliki.
The Ameican people did not make, and we did not intend them to make [oh yes you did, but let's not talk about that now] an endless commitment to Iraq. Americans have now been fighting, and dying to keep the peace, in a country of some 26 million people. It is not too much to expect some of those 26 million people to defend themselves the government, and their own societies, and the idea of Iraq. Ameican soldiers have now been in Iraq since March 19, 2003. Before that, for ten years, American planes protected two zones, both north and south, so that Saddam Hussein could only in limited fashion attack either the Kurds or the Shi'a. We have now been in Iraq for as long as it took to defeat Nazi Gemany, from the date December 7, 1941, to V-E Day, in May 1945. We are fast approaching the time when we will have been in Iraq longer than the time from the declaraton of war on Imperial Japan and Nazi Gemany, to even V-J Day. The Ameican people are tired. They are tired of spending their money, their men, their war materiel, and believe that it is right and proper that we now leave Iraq, wishing it, and its people, well.
Whethe they will grasp that opportunity, and make the coompromises with each othe necessary to create a real nation-state, is their business. We have accomplished all that we could. I have asked Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to begin the withdrawl of American forces, including all of our military equipment, save for a small amount that is already pre-positioned in Kurdistan in case of future need, and that withdrawal should be complete by January of 2007. There are many perils in the world, not all of which we can solve, and not all of which are solvable by military means. There is much to be done, in our attemps, as members of the Western Alliance, to protect ourselves, and others threatened by the worldwide Jihad. Spending all of our capital, the men, the money, the materiel, the attention, the morale of our military and our citizens, in attempting to do for Iraq what it is the duty of Iraqis to do for themselves, is no longer an option.
May God Bless the American People.
Good Night
[And Good Luck].
Something like that. By Labor Day.
I found this and think the Israelies are being innovative:
IDF hacks Nasrallah's TV channel
IDF intelligence unit manages to hack al-Manar broadcast, plant caricature of Hizbullah's leader with caption: 'Your days are numbered'
Smadar Peri
After repeated Israeli efforts to destroy Hizbullah's al-Manar television station have failed, an IDF intelligence unit succeeded this week in hacking the station's live broadcasts, planting Israeli PR messages in the transmissions..
Israel at war - full coverage
The al-Manar channel regularly airs juicy propaganda against Israel, including reports of "heroic" and "successful" operations by Hizbullah fighters against IDF special forces.
However, this weekend the IDF prepared a surprise for the Lebanese and Arab viewers of the channel: The broadcast was interrupted and caricatures of Nasrallah appeared on the screen, accompanied by captions reading: "Your days are numbered" and "Nasrallah, your time is up. Soon you won't be with us anymore."
Additionally, Hizbullah and al-Manar internet sites also received "special treatment" by Israeli technical specialists, and several were erased from the internet.
I find it absolutely amazing that the entire world knows that Syria and Iran are behind the attacks on Israel and yet a state of war has not been declared between Israel (and the U.S.A.) and these jihadist nations.
What the hell does it take? How can we continue to be so disgustingly short-sighted and weak-minded in the West before we implode?

There is much more that could be done in this line. Think of all the Muslim Arabs in the Western world, obtaining their worldview from Al-Jazeera. Apparently the governments of the Western world do not see, as some of us do, the similarity between this state of affairs, and permitting Radio Berlin or Radio Tokyo to present their vision of the world to Americans, that their signal been strong enough, during World War II, or doing nothing to prevent Soviet propaganda going out over the airwaves.
Is it really beyond the wit of the American and other Western governments to figure out how to engage an army of hackers who will do what was done to Al-Manar? It was long ago suggested here that an Arab Muslim family, settling in for a nice evening of getting its dose of hatred from Al-Jazeera, might not be quite so willing to sit down to such viewing, or for the men in the family to let others think they had done so, if suddenly there were to appear pornographic images, images which Western women, being the "wild slutty womens" they are in the Muslim view, can somehow ignore or at least withstand, but which would cause great shame, if a Muslim man thought, not so much that his wife had been exposed to such images, but that other Muslims might think "his women" had -- and that would be intolerable.
This is the kind of thing that people who made war during World War II would have understood. Nowadays, we have to benice, have to be cautious, have to be solicitous, have to make war always keeping in mind that in the end, we are endlessly told, we can only "win this war" by winning the (unwinnable) hearts, winning the (unwinnable) minds, of those we are making war on, or their natural supporters.
This makes no sense.
Foehammer:
For the usual suspects (France, China and Russia c'mon down), acknowledging that Iran and Syria are waging war on Israel through their Hezbollah proxies in Lebanon, is the last thing they want to do because then it would behoove them to declare war instead of flogging trade goods to them.
Given the flack Bush and Blair took for invading "non-threatening and peaceful" Iraq, I can imagine that even if they had troops to spare for the purpose, they are more than a little hesitant to start sending in the warplanes and gunships just yet.
Hugh,
I agree with your concept of not continue to spend money on building Iraq. As to leaving Iraq now, I think, it would be a big mistake for the reason that both Iran and Syria will take the oil and fund their terrorists.
I also think that to compare current war in Iraq with the war in Germany would be comparing apple and orange.
During the WWI and WWI, there was not internet for the German to spread propaganda to the world overnight. We were fighting a people who wanted to live and a people who were able to build technology and build nation of their own. During the time, our news media were not prostituting themselves.
Now, we have Muslims who do not want to live, do not know how to build but to destroy, who have oil money to pay to all the NGO's and news media, and the muslims have access to internet to upload propaganda over just a few minutes.
For as long as Muslims have oil, for as long as the democrates disallow oil drilling here, we will buy oil from our enimies, will appease them for our economic security, and we will not have a solution.
Honestly, there isn't a single bright person in the world who has the solution, yet. If there is one now, the world will bring him frankincenee, gold, and mirth.
This media war should be carried out. However, it should not stop there. Al Jazeera broadcasts throughout the world should be jammed. And while they are at it, the same things should be done to the BBC, CNN and other hostile media outlets. Also, Israeli and other Infidel troops should make it a point to target media organizations located in enemy terretory - imaging an Israeli air strike taking out Dick, sorry Nick Robertson while he is in bed with Hizbullah. Take it to the point that only the pro-US and pro-Israel media feel safe to report from the region. Then we won't get all that taqiyya and Islamic propaganda.
Of course, for bleeding-heart Leftists, it'll be just 'neo-Con' propaganda. Tough - if they want to support the enemy, let them go to Syria and join Hizbullah there. More targets for the IDF.
Honestly, there isn't a single bright person in the world who has the solution, yet. If there is one now, the world will bring him frankincenee, gold, and mirth.
The solution is simple enough, but no leader will implement it. Take us off mid east oil. Close the borders. Deport the muslims. Problem solved.
Islam only has whatever power we in the west give it. Whatever arms islam has, it bought from the west. Whatever money they have, they received from the west. Whatever technology muslims have, they bought from the west, with the money we gave them. Whatever electricity they consume, was generated by plants designed by the west, as is their water, their medicine, and their structures. Whatever educations they have, they received in western universities.
Whatever muslims exist in our countries, they are there because we let them in. Whatever missiles they fire at our office buildings, are our planes, built by us, fueled by us. Not only does islam not produce anything itself, but even the very weapons it uses against us, are weapons that we, not them, designed and manufactured. They are not even capable of doing that.
On their own, left to their own devices, muslims are nothing. Without the empowerment of the west, Islam would not even be a blip on a radar screen. And this is why so many fail to see the threat of islam. They know that muslims are a backward primitive culture, so they dismiss them as only a nuissance, in a way they would not dismiss Germans or Russians on the warpath.
So the problem is not jihad, it is the dhimmi west that empowers the jihad. Without the west, muslims could not even get to the west. The cars they drive are our cars, the ships they sail in, are our ships, the planes the arrive in at the airport, are our aircraft. The air traffic control system that they use to fly here, is our system. The computers they use were created by us. The internet they use was created by us.
Islam is not a threat by itself. By itself it could not even survive. They would die of starvation and disease by the millions and would be forced to use swords instead of explosives.
It is the west that powers islam. The west is so powerful, that it thinks it can afford to power not only itself, but to power its enemies too. When the police are sent to protect a mosque, the west is using its resources to protect its own enemies while at the same time using other resources to fight its enemies. Only an infinitely powerful civiliation, or one that fancies itself such, could do that. But I am afraid that we don't have quite enough power to empower both ourselves, and our enemies. There will come a time when the power to do both will end.
Rush made a point today, that before the invasion of Afganistan and Iraq they were havens for AlQaeda, especially Afganistan. now the havens are being transferred to Africa, and since the US and Israel are not in Iran, Iran is the major sponsor of terrorism with the help of Syria. Note some major Arab countries have not lifte a finger to help out Hizbollah. We cannot change the mindset of muslim's hatred of all things Western and most things Jewish, but we can make them pay for their mistakes. l loved reading about the hacked websites and tv stations with ol nostrella, yes his days are numbered indeed.
ISLAM IS A GOOD example of why the separation of church and state is a good idea. Our founding fathers knew that the government could have problems if religious zealots ran the country. Imagine if the Puritans had total control of the country. would witch burning rituals be the Norm, or would we find people in stocks in the public square? Who knows, maybe the Muslims would be afraid of us.
August22,
Your proposal sounds good, but how can it be done?
If we don't sell computers to Muslims, they buy them from the Japanese, Korean, etc.
In fact the US hasn't sold M16 to Iraqi Army or police. Where do they buy them from? Russia.
If we don't buy their oil, we can put a big dent on their pocket because that's our bigest import. And we are the biggest buyer.
IF we were not to buy their from Muslim, we need to also not buy anything from China, who is the second largest oil importer. Our problems continues to compound to exponents.
How easy? If that's so, it would have been done long ago.
As off now, no solution, yet.
InfidelPride " love your enemies" yeah that's a hoot. I tell you one thing, the God of the Bible who calls Himself the God of Israel 203 in the Bible does not "love" Israel's enemies and He will destroy them Himself eventually.
Good grief, someone writing in the dead-tree medium in the UK gets it. Admittedly, it's not a very large circulation newspaper, but still and all. A leading article in Britain's The Business:
1. mentions the universality of jihad:
2. explains the significance of the name of the Khaibar-1 rockets that have been fired at Israel to its readers:
3. Points to the "ethnic cleansing" that has been going on in the Middle East:
And, in general, it presents an informed, historically aware, and educative piece that aims to show matters how they are and doesn't stoop to moral equivalence and phoney "even handedness" between good and evil, truth and lies. About as far from the BBC as one could get.

Some home truths from the frontline
(It's a short article but spread rather awkwardly over over four pages with follow-on links at the bottom of each section.)
I love Jesus, but I am not going to pretend to have a halo on my head.
When a person read the bible passage, LOVE YOU ENIMY, the is said to the reader alone. Not to a nation.
In another part of the bible, it says Jesus to his disciple during the passover that if any of them doesnt' already have a sword, they need to get one. That the sword that Peter used for cutting someone's ear.
Hey, guys! It's the same bible. One side says LOVE, the other side says BUY A SWORD.
This is why I can't stand listening to preachers. They pretend to know it all.
Yes, I love Jesus.
No, I don't believe everything written by human hand.
I rather be Thomas. I want to put my finger on Jesus' wound.
I find it difficult to LOVE my enemies and some of my neighbors.....but I do RESPECT my neighbors. I've lost compassion and/or respect for muslims. It's hard to respect someone who respects NO one.
ssa says "Honestly, there isn't a single bright person in the world who has the solution, yet. If there is one now, the world will bring him frankincenee, gold, and mirth."
If so, it would be much more likely to bring him solitary confinement in a 10' by 8' cell.
The bleeding heart leftists aren't the problem. These bleeding heart leftists don't own the U.S. (they aren't the investors, the CEO's, theBoard of Directors, that own and control the corporations that run the U.S. and it's media).
The real problem my friends is with the so called conservatives, like your President who champions amnesty for illegal aliens, who slipped down to Miami to give a speech supporting Dubai Ports World which still runs our ports, the Republicans in Congress who passed a bill unnnoticed, authorizing Oman to run our ports.
I just puked at Neil Cavuto on Fox (and Oreilly as well) who refuses to believe that the problem is Islam or that Hizballah has active cells in the U.S. like the Bint Jebiel Society in Dearborn (he ridiculed Debbie Schussel) and Oreilly is no better, they have their nose so far up Dubya's butt that if he made and abrupt turn they would break their nose, and Dubya is owned, lock, stock and barrel by the Islamist and the corporations that make money from doing business with Muslims.
The leftists aren't the problem, compared to the right wingers (the corporations) they are small in number and impoverished..tis the Right that has all of the money, and tis the Right that owns and controls the congress and media.. and it is the right that is betraying America. (Well admittedly the left is treasonous as well, but not as rich and powerful as the right).
Even Rick Santorum when asked to clearly define and specify the problem, choked up and back pedaled, instead of saying Islam, he equivocated by saying Islamofascist NATIONS.
As we all know there is only one Islamic nation, the Ummah or Moslemah (World wide community of believers), a Borg like entity which thinks and moves as one.
How can this be, CAIR tells us Islam means peace and only a few crazy men hijacked their faith and all True-Muslims are peaceful followers of Muhammad .
CAIR says Christians and Jews are Muslims because Moses and Jesus were Muslims , so why would a Muslim-only terrorist Org. like Hezbollah murder other Muslims that happened to be Christian and Jewish.
I don't think Muslims in America understand the mind set of people who will protect America and stop any foreign invaders , once Islam is seen as the murderous death-cult it is and the USA has another 9/11 , the gloves will come off and after every Mosque is torched and burn to the ground, the bearded idiots with their hate-speach will be rounded up and booted all the way onto a plane back to their Utopic Islamic States to stop Sharia-Law and Iraq style suicide slaughters becoming rooted in North America.
Think about it folks, if Islam is bent on removing the Constitution and flying the Muslims banner over the WhiteHouse , where's the downside to a civil war to expel islam for good and ban the Quran and Mosques from democratic soil .
Civil Rights only work when everyone else is Civil, and once the Judges and Police see they have been defending a group of people that want to destroy their Country and replace their jobs with the Morality-Police and public executions.
The United Nations, International law, World courts
I can't help but crack up laughing whenever someone speaks of these organizations and concepts as if they held any legit and enforceable merit. The "one world order" crowd would love nothing more than to usurp the U.S. Constitution with such impotent legislative bodies. Furthermore, these leftist inspired world channels would be ideal springboards for Sharia concepts.
Nariz -
PLEASE stay on topic! Your "I hate conservatives" rhetoric sounds so random and it's become really annoying. Thanks!
We're almost there when it comes to what Scripture teaches about "love". I will try to enlighten...
Jesus lived in a time of great turbulance. The Roman presence was not friendly. The treatment of the inhabitants of the region was not up to scratch in terms of modern 'human rights' standards. Sound familiar?
What Jesus taught (love your enemy) was intended to drive the alternative out of the hearts of those who would follow him. Jesus knew that love and hate cannot co-exist in the same heart. He also understood human nature. If hate is allowed to fester, it will eventually rule the heart. He taught love, so that others might know its fuller meaning. For those who follow him, there is no excuse.
Jesus also taught of the varying degrees of love, starting with the love of the Father and working down to the love of one's enemy. By comparing them, I see that 'loving one's enemy' simply means not allowing one's hatred of that enemy to conquer love.
The Q'ran teaches nothing about love. All descriptions of Allah are devoid of that term. Mohammed was, himself, devoid of love. So, if we do not love our enemy, we become like them. Do you really want to become like Mohammed?
To love one's enemy does not mean to give him succour, aid, weapons or the benefit of the doubt. It simply means to not become like those who would destroy us, for then they have truly won the war...
As to what must be done when they would destroy us, Jesus did not ask the soldier to put down his weapons of war. He said: be content with your wages. This means, quite simply, that a soldier is NOT to rape pillage plunder loot or murder. This can also be translated as 'love your enemy'.
Hope this helps, even a little bit...
