Imani's analysis has one gaping, glaring flaw: he is characterizing this problem of the "Useful Idiot" as a kind of neurotic eccentricity in Western society. He is dead wrong. It is the norm.
While Imani nowhere assigns definite proportions to this phenomenon of Useful Idiocy as he sees it, one phrase of his about one particular form of it indicates he thinks it is below the threshhold of a majority: "Regrettably, a large segment of the population goes along with these nonsensical euphemisms [e.g., "Radical Islam"] depicting Islam because it prefers to believe them."
A "large segment" is a subjective relative term: it could mean 10% or 49% (or above). I suspect, from the tone of the rest of the article, that for Imani, it is somewhere below 20%. Again, I think he is dead wrong. Whatever the proportion is, it is far above 50% -- it might even be as high as into the 90 percentile.
I was in Leeds today and saw some of these 'useful idiots'. They hawked copies of Socialist Worker, and had banners attached to their table denouncing Bush as a war criminal, and standing up against racism and for civil liberties. Since when were Muslim regimes for civil liberties and against racism?

I think that what loveverybody actually means is:
End Zionism by allowing the destruction of the state of Israel and all of the Jews, and end all foreign policy that inhibits the Islamic supremicist movements transformation of the whole world into Dar al-Islam/Sohl/Salam, because anything Muslims have ever done has been done first and worst by everybody else, so they must be better than us.

Just as the Muslims are because they truly believe that their grand experiment is better for the people too. Both fail to ask the public if they would actually like to be part of their one world vision because they blindly assume that only they can be right.
And that is where they ultimately fall down, because the public finally say enough is enough. Non Muslims do not want Sharia law because it as nothing to offer them but murder and submission. We are all tribal so the grand experiment fails because we do not wish to live in a boiling pot of many cultures if it means ours is taken away.
The problem is that Labour has admitted that the grand experiment as failed. So instead of tackling the problem head on now they have taken the experiment to stage two. The next challenge for them is making us get along.
How can people who have chased a one world vision so rabidly that they happened to fracture society instead of uniting it ever hope to put a plaster over the problem and make it go away?
Is it too much to ask of your Government that they remember they are servants of the people and not the masters?
I wouldn’t do business with the Labour Government if they were running a Snap-On franchise from a van. Not one of them is qualified to run anything approaching UK plc.
The solution is death. Islam, the blood lust monster, must be killed. It must be held down limb by limb, hands firmly around the neck, and the very life choked from it. There is one problem though. There are many, including useful idiots, who feed and protect the monster. They must be dealt with first. Monster killing is such nasty business.
It doesn't have to be that nasty. Look at the example of Zaynab bint al-Harith, a Jewess of Khaybar. She just inquired into which cut of meat Mohammed liked the best (the foreleg of the goat/sheep). It took the poison three painful years to kill him.
I don’t know CC, the murder by poison of Allah’s messenger seems pretty nasty to me, although fitting, poison chemicals killing a poisoned mind. Poisoning a man is a relatively easy thing, it’s quite another to poison a faith. What would that poison be? I’ve always though that if the truth about the death cult and its psychopathic messenger could become common knowledge Islam would die on its own, a natural death. A non-Muslim world campaign of ridicule needs to begin and there is a full repertoire of beliefs and practices within Islam which need derision. Let us poison this monster with truth, let it begin in earnest, let it begin now.

I'm well aware of the feckless stupidity of the socialist left, especially the left over Marxists, who never got the message.. Marxism is dead, however a broken clock is still right twice a day... I got myself involved with a political group here in Britain but soon saw what they were going on about when they invited a politician who hates Israel to speak and when their meetings started filling up with Muslins. I was supposed to speak (about another unrelated matter ) on a meeting but left the group without another thought.Britain is being taken over by the Islamic evil religion and I think it is a bit too late to do anything about it. Their agenda is death to Israel and to the West, and some useful idiots, as it was well put here, are only helping them by being politically correct and by believing that it is a question of racism, when it is not, but a question of an evil ideology, a mad cult, who won't stop at anything.
Lygiamaria - I hope for your sake that it is not "a bit too late to do anything about it." A briton of 1946 would never have imagined what life in her country would be like today as a result of social engineering and multiculturalism. It is not out of the question that a strong reaction to present trends will produce results that seem equally unlikely to us.
I offer this chilling thought for those willing to consider it. Some of the psychological denial and useful idiocy that we see may be due to the very real fear of Islam already operating at a subconscious level - one that does recognize the enormity of the threat, but finds it too frightening to meet head on. It could be that in our time this is reinforced by forces like globalization as more people acquire more and more ties to the Islamic world through everything form business to travel and tourism to intermarriage to immigration. Immigration that includes not only the arrival of Muslims in the West, but the connections among Western non-Muslims brought about through the spread of religious communities of former dhimmi Jews, Christians and others in the West who have fled their homelands. All of this makes it more difficult to distance ourselves physically from the threat. The silence of these former dhimmi communities in the West is defeaning. (Or am I mistaken?) People who should know better say nothing and even persist in the Islamic peace propaganda. A good example is Ralph Nader, former U.S. presidential candidate, a descendent of Lebanese Maronites many of whose communities in the U.S. and similar communities of Middle Eastern Christians all over the place seem to acquiesce to the "Arab Christian" ethos to a point that goes way beyond the matter of shared language and geography. It seems to willingly remove from view entirely the real history of these communities in their homelands. Why? Is it out of fear of reprisals against family in the old world? The murder of the Armanious family in New Jersey a couple years back may be part of a visible tip of a much larger iceberg. Even though in the end this murder was shown to have nothing to do with Muslims, the threats reportedly made against Mr. Armanious over the internet prior to the murder that he would be "slaughtered like a chicken" for criticizing Islam, and the subsequent cheers and applause on some Islamic websites when news of the murders was first broadcast make it clear what we're up against.
I can't help think that even those westerners bending over backward to be politically correct have to be uneasy about the alien presence in their midst when they see these Islamic women walking in tent-like costumes in Western cities sometimes several paces behind their men. I question the view that the behaviour of the West can be explained solely as a function of perverse political ideologies like "socialism", "loopy leftism", "multiculturalism" and the like. These may be only the straw huts people desperately try to shelter in to "buy time" while they prepare to try to ride out the storm that they see coming. We have to look our own fears in the face - but are we willing to do that?

I think your point has its proof in Europe. Never would I have imagined what’s happening there. No, so far, they are not willing to do what is necessary to save themselves, their culture.
In the case of Islam, the willingness to do must be directly proportional to the willingness to not do. I have to believe that any thinking person would do most anything to not be a slave to Allah, knowing all that that entails. That leaves us with thinking people who don't know the threat for whatever reason, people who don't care about the threat for any number of reasons, and deceivers with various nefarious agendas. Thinking people will have to be educated, shown the gnarly teeth of the monster, awakened. People who don't care will have to be abandoned; they are easy prey for, or future caretakers of, the monster. Deceivers will...well they will have to be dealt with; they must not be allowed to feed the monster. We who are awake and willing are spreading the word, and we have Jihad Watch, educator, torch bearer, bane of monsters. Don't lose hope.
