A former grocery store owner already facing three years in prison for aiding a terrorist group got 14 months tacked onto his sentence Friday for swindling a government social welfare program out of $1.4 million (€1.1 million).Hatem Fariz, 33, must serve a total of 51 months in federal prison under the sentence handed down by US District Judge Milton I. Shadur.
Fariz, who now lives in Spring Hill, Florida, also was ordered to repay the money he siphoned off by swapping cash for government food stamp vouchers.
At the same time, Fariz pleaded guilty in a federal court in Tampa to conspiring to provide financial aid to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which has been designated by the US government as a terrorist organization.
When will it come to pass that we legally define domestic and foreign jihadist and jihadist-related activities (i.e. funding, recruiting, propagandizing, etc.) as acts of war, robbing these warriors of the privileges of the American criminal justice system? Right now, if one is a lone jihadist (witness the Tarheel jihadist, the DC snipers, the Seattle shooter, the El Al ticket counter shooter, etc.) and commits an act of jihad on American soil, that person is subject to the rights and privileges of our judicial system. This has to stop. By granting them full protection under our civil and criminal codes we are simply giving our enemies further aid and comfort. These people, subhumans really, must be classified as enemy combatants and handed over to the military to be treated as prisoners of war. Then they should be taken to Gitmo, Abu Ghraib, or the nearest pork processing plant for some good times with our boys who have lost fellow soldiers, marines, airmen, and sailors to the Islamic death cult. Unfortunately in order to get hard core legislation like this passed, it's going to take a minimum of one more mass casualty event here to drive the people to change the PC herd mentality in Washington. Right now, as it has been for several decades, our lawmakers are more concerned with cable news appearances and what color tie they wear on Meet the Depressed than with enacting laws that make a difference in this war.
51 months for someone who aided a group that is hell bent on the destruction of Western Civilisation doesn't seem quite strong enough for me.
Why not try these supports of terrorism of treason?
Anglo, a trial for treason just seems too much to be delivered from our government despite a body of laws and a history of legislative action to such a purpose. It's sadly true that our elected officials and their appointed judges, bureaucrats, etc. have no interest in barking up the treason tree. To get called out for treason these days is about as likely as seeing Buraq the magic jihad horse running in the next Derby.
And don't forget the baby food scam where Muslims bought expired food as part of a glass recycling auction and merely re-labelled the food with a new expiry date and sold though their Grocery store.
As usual, people were shocked since they seemed like such nice Muslims and how could someone harm babies by selling potentially tainted food.

on Muslim values but exposes how easy it is for them to use theirown babies as martyrs or suicide-bombers in training.
What was that district judge's name? Mr.Milton I SHADUR. If he happens to be a fellow muslim, this might explain the light sentence for a 1.4 million dollar crime. They often provide a light slap on the wrist for their own. A sort of sharia work in progress perhaps. He ought to work off every sent of that money, but that would be disproportionate, right?
False alarm, it appears judge Shakur is simply a Carter nominee from 1980. Now I can rest at ease.

After his sentence, he should be deported to his home country and not allowed to return to the United States. I wonder if he was one of the peaceful practitioners of Islam that sold disposable cell phones ?
