Support for jihad in modern, moderate Jordan. From GulfNews, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
Amman: Arabs must unite and support Lebanon against Israel's atrocities, believes a cross-section of the Jordanian community.Gulf News interviewed a number of Jordanians in Amman who supported Hezbollah defending Lebanon and the Arabic nation. They described Israel's launching of the war as "a crime which must be ended immediately."
"Israel's war is not only against Lebanon, but it is against the whole Arabic nation. This is very wrong and I consider it a crime which Israel should be tried for," 21-year-old Jordanian-born and Egyptian national, Saeed Mohammad Ahmad told Gulf News, yesterday.
He said this war had exposed Arabic countries and shown how disunited they were.
"Arabs must unite and take one stance against the atrocities that are facing the Palestinians, Iraqis and Lebanese."
Meanwhile, Jordanian Wafa Saade who works as an accountant, said the Israeli war against Lebanon was a "ridiculous situation."
"This time Israel has gone far beyond the limits with Lebanon and Palestine. God is with us and Israel is not welcome in this region. We hope that the Arabs unite against Israel and fight back."...
On whether the Arabs could still be united she said "dignity, honour, land and religion can still unite them."...
Faris Dabbas, 33, a Jordanian businessman, described the war as a crime.
"The Israelis have been stamping on the Arabs for the past years. It is about time for us to unite and stamp on them. I fully support Hezbollah for resisting and shelling the occupied land," he said.
On whether the Hezbollah fighters could persevere and fight back for long periods, he said during the days of the Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) "10 soldiers used to fight and kill hundreds." He described the Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting in Beirut as a "political farce."
"The only thing that will stop the war, is for us to go back to God and perform the holy rituals," said Dabbas.
It sure sounds like someone is trying to establish battle lines:
'God is with us and Israel is not welcome in this region'
Perhaps we should set up our own defences:
The Twenty-Eighth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America
Any religion following, or based upon, the principles of the Qu’ran shall not be afforded the protections provided by the First Amendment to this Constitution. Followers of any such religion shall be allowed to peacefully practice their faith, subject to the following restrictions: (1) No member may advocate the suppression of opposing religious faiths; (2) No member may support groups that advocate violent actions against this, or any other Country; and (3) No member shall be allowed to hold dual-citizenship with nations determined by the Executive Branch to be state sponsors of terrorism.
Individuals found in violation of these restrictions shall be stripped of their Citizenship and be deported to their Country origin.
Thank you Jihad Watch for the epigrammatic gem: (more words from) The Acting Guild of the Religion of Perpetual Outrage.
More seething from the muslim street - expected;
These words - priceless.
Although I'm pretty sure it'll never happen, I wonder if the mohammedans will ever realize that the more often you use a word like "atrocity", "massacre", and "crime" and the more you apply them to different situations, the more they lose their meaning? Their constant histrionics have gone beyond the point of being boring, all the way to looking like a script from which all 1.x billion of them read. If they weren't such a bunch of dangerous sociopaths, they'd sound like nothing more than enthusiastic actors in a badly written play, composed by a morose teenager.
The Arab/Muslim world better get the message that if you go to war against Isreal, you are at war with the true God, the God of the Bible.
the other word being delivered is that if you fight Israel, they will fight back unlike the Euroweenies and the American leftist dhimmicrats. The Muslims have drawn the battle orders (being--kill infidels). It is time we recognize that fact and conduct ourselves accordingly.
We hope the real world unites and fights Islamic terror.

Arab Christians Speak Out in Support of Israel's Operation in Lebanon

World Lebanese Cultural Union
August 2, 2006
President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
I am writing to commend your constant support for fighting the evil of terror and specifically, your unshakable resolve to support Israel’s fight against Hezbollah. These terrorist groups are enemies of all who want to be free in the Middle East--indeed the world. They threaten a free Lebanon, Middle East as well as America.
The U.S. National Board and chapters of WLCU is the official voice of American Lebanese, representing almost two million people in America. The WLCU represents 14 million people around the world. We pray that our people in Lebanon can enjoy the democratic rights and life that we have as an American Lebanese. Indeed, we thank God for that every morning and every night.
Mr. President, please be strong in your commitment for the world to implement UN resolutions #1559 & #1680 that require that Lebanon be rid of Hezbollah and Iranian influence. Do not let Lebanon fall into the hands of the Axis of Evil. Do not let our American Lebanese pride and spirit down.
Lebanon is finally capturing world attention. The Lebanese people have been suffering for more than 30 years from foreign interference that has shredded the country and divided Lebanon into groups with loyalty to Syria, Iran or other outside Arab interests. The Lebanese people are paying a dear price for the reign of terror.
You have our full support for your Middle East policies. We are proud of America, of you and your administration. Not only must Hezbollah and similar groups be disarmed, but their educational systems that teach hatred, terror and racism must be also destroyed.
To make the people of the Middle East free, let us close all Hezbollah operations and all terror organizations. Then there will be no more wars, destruction, blood, dying women and children in Lebanon. And only then will Lebanon, Israel and American values be secure in the Middle East.
Together let us support a free Lebanese government and peace in that region once and for all.
Very truly yours,
Joseph A. HAKIM
WLCU, US National Chapters
President

Abu is very glad that the Infidel Media is on the side of the poor Arabs. And you must admit that not always do they report only on the Zionist attrocities. Sometimes they report the cute and quirky habits of the locals - like taking bombshells for a walk! And that is something that Abu likes too!
I keep waiting for our Administration, to give up it's love affair with the Saudis, the Arabs of the Gulf (like Dubai), Egypt and Kuwait and realize that there is no such thing as an Islamofascist (the word is redundant).. Islam is fascist, yes indeed, by definition Islam is fascist, but there are only Muslims and former muslims..no such thing as a moderate muslim, nor an apostate muslim. Just Muslims and non Muslims.
There is only one real problem..Islam, and this administration, the Republicans, the Pat Robertson and even Pat Buchanan crowd can't or won't come to grips with that fact...perhaps because it is scarey, fraught with danger to take on Islam.
A lot easier and more profitable to create and then fight an internal culture war, than suck it in, throw out the chest and fight the real cultural war (the war with Islam)..that direction can cause them pain, grief, loss of life and money.
Mike I wish there were more Lebanese Christians taking a stand against Hizballah, alas from my perusal of the media (including..nay especially Faux News), the vast majority of them are sympathetic to Hizballah, an excuse given is that they are afraid of Hizballah so won't speak their mind, in that case if I was afraid rather than lie I wouldn't speak at all..and gauging the emotions and content of these pro Hizballah Christian Lebanese they don't sound like they are being oblique or hesitant at all, but quite adamant. I suspect that there are a minority of Christian Lebanese in America that might be on the side of Israel against Hizballah, but they are a minority.. even second generation Lebanese like Richard Debs, former President of Morgan Stanly Int'l have taken an anti Israel and pro Hizballah stance. Read his interview..(the only thing I agree with there is his statement that Bush has handed Iraq over to the Iranians. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day)

Scroll down to the "what about a cease fire?"
He has added more to the mix.
I do not agree with the 2nd cartoon down now.

Nariz - Robert has posted stories on DW about the silent Lebanese Christian anti feeling towards Islam/Hizbolla. ICEJ (a Christian website) also has many stories also - along with the fact that the Muslims are using Christians as shields in order to raise the ire of Christians in the West when they are killed by the Israeli air strikes.
I say let the Arabs unite - last time they did, tiny little Israel kicked their butts. Where was Allah then???
