In Pakistan, considered a major ally in the U.S.-led war on terror, newspapers ran bleak-toned opinion columns and editorials criticizing Western anti-terror policies and attitudes.
Pakistan propped up Taleban, funded 9/11, supported LeT in Kashmir, funded Bombay bombings, slaughtered Daniel Pearl on camera. Only corrupt Dubya and follish Condi consider Pakistan 'a major ally in the U.S.-led war on terror'.
The only reason I care what TreasonMedia says is I know a lot of people believe their stuff. If it weren't for that depressing truth, I wouldn't waste my time.
Although individuals in Western Europe may support the U.S., the same can't always be said for their governments. As the Islamic drama plays out there, those who are angry with the U.S. now will eventually be asking for our help.
Two excellent books that delineate Europe's relationship with the Arab world are Eurabia by Bat Ye'or and While Europe Slept by Bruce Bawer- as an American, I found both very enlightening, although they approach the topics from very different viewpoints.
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom—go from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!"
Another reason America took such a bad rap: we were the ones who informed the world there was a war afoot at a time when no one wanted to know that. In short, after 9-11, America found itself stuck with a (very) bad case of the messenger being hung. Although it wasn't our doing that the jihad had begun and it certainly wasn't our message to transmit, it worked out the same and we got hung by a good portion of the gobal community.
I made a comment last night that France’s productive people are already starting to leave because of the social situation and excessive tax rates. My numbers were challenged and it was suggested that I was eating too many Freedom Fries.
There are many productive people who own businesses and control assets. The business tax table is below (~70%). Add local taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, wealth tax (up to 1.8%) annually of your total net worth if you’re wealthy, a gift/inheritance tax (up to 60% of what you’ve been able to shelter throughout your life), and voila, ninety some percent for the owner of a successful small business. Bill Gates would have to pay a billion dollars or so annually for the ‘privilege’ of being a French citizen, even if he never earned another dime.
The problem with Europe is that whilst most Europeans recognise that Islam is becoming a dangerous problem and whilst most of them cannot stomach it, they are afraid to speak out because to do so would almost certainly get them fired from their job, arrested or attacked by the terrorists who are holding secret mosques in their garages.
Good ol Socialism and the wonderful EU that tells you when you can and can't go to the restroom and how much toilet paper you can wipe your bum with. This is what our Dimmicrats want to give us if they get in office...of course, they can't tell us their PLAN. Did you ever hear John Kerry's?? I didn't.
When I lived in the UK, I would watch as the politicans in London would think of new and exciting ways to attack Tony Blair. I am not joking when I say this....LITERALLY 3 days later, I would watch in amazement as our US Dimmicrats used the EXACT same ploys to attack George Bush. It's like they have NO immagination. They don't want to change the government...they want to BE the government and then hand it over to Brussels.
Europeans are trapped now because they didn't recognize the truth of what the EU OR Islam was about until it was way too late.
In Europe, it seems the lefty-liberal, anti-conservative anti-Christian, anti-Israeli, suck up to the muslims, pc idiots are the only ones with a voice....(THE MEDIA). Unfortunately, this is the types of morons we are producing in our liberal arts universities over here.
We can hope and pray that as Americans we do something proactive to stop the spread of a religion of hate (Islam) before we find ourselves in the same position as our European friends who are quietly rooting us on over here.
P.S. The reason the press has decided to write this story today is really an unveiled attempt to do something...ANYTHING to belittle Bush and the Republicans. They are hot about last night's movie 9/11 and they are hot that President Bush is making speeches about the war on terror and being praised as (from Katie Couric herself) Mourner in Chief...for leading all these services. She actually commented on how caring and kind he is to the families when he meets with them. This must drive the lefty-liberals nuts!!! One of their own saying something nice about Bush.
No, we can't have anything being said good about this Administration. Must run a crap article.
Please put down your Ipods. We want to talk to you about our relationship. Lately we've been getting the impression that you don't trust us.
Please understand we're really coming apart over here. People are at their wits' ends. It's impossible to even get a cheeseburger when we want one: http://view.break.com/148292.
Thanks for your concern. Now let's just drop it and talk about the awards cuz the commercials are almost over.
From the article, Angela Merkel spoke: "... respect for human rights, tolerance and respect for other cultures must be the maxim of our actions ..."
I agree with that. We need to respect human rights and Islamic culture. And how do we do that? By understanding that Islam preaches uncompromising intolerance toward non-Muslims, that it respects nothing whatsoever outside of Islam, and that is is making, as it has consistently for 14 centuries, total and perpetual war on free men across the globe until they are either killed or enslaved. Our actions and policies should be founded on that fundamental understanding.
Any person who really cares about human rights, and who has, as Hugh says, an "inobnubilated grasp" of Islamic doctrine, and who understands that Muslims consider their doctrine immutable by virtue of its being the literal word of God (Allah, actually) will understand the need to banish Islam from the free world, until such time as--however many centuries it takes--Muslims find a way to revise those doctrines to live in respectful peace with "the other."
If countries like the jelly back French,German and other EU countries are not with us to fight the war on our civilisation and terrorism, then they are against us.
The EU MP's forget that Jihad has been raging since 1400A.D. Time to wake up!
A simple reflection I had first copied and pasted from LGF this past summer and it was first penned by a writier down under. This is a must read :
This is an absolutely beautiful tribute to our United States of America. Say what you may ~ we still have the best country in the world. I thought this to be worthy of passing on. And an Australian wrote it. Many people love America - many _people don't. But it is what it is and we are blessed (my humble opinion).
To Kill an American
You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!)
"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. _In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world. _The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.
The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
God rest the souls of the true martyrs of September 11th, 2001, who were on the air planes, in the WTC, at the Pentagon, and in Shankesville, PA.
Christianity planted the seed of pacifist internationalism - the anti-natural tendency of giving the other cheek.
The anti-natural predisposition to honestly believe that I/We is/are guilty and the other is fair and haves the right to take revenge on us.
So, too many people in the West (specially the intellectual leftists, for the Left is nothing but a Christianity without God) are always eager to blame our own people for everything bad that happens.
Let's return to Zeus, Jupiter, Lug, Odin, Perun...
They've always disliked us. You can read accounts of certain Muslims, Latin Americans or Europeans traveling here before this was officialy a country. They wrote the same things; that this is a naturally degenerate land, that American crassness might one day threaten their beloved economically stagnant but spiritually superior societies. That America is an evil imperialist etc.
"We Are All Americans" Maybe lasted a few weeks, at the most, after 9/11. After that it was business as usual. It's sad how many Americans think everything was okay untill we "wasted" our 9/11 sympathy on the "imperialist Iraq crusade". Although constructive legitmate critisism should be accepted. We should focus on our survival, not what everyone thinks. Islam wants to destroy us whether anyone likes us or not.
"Let's return to Zeus, Jupiter, Lug, Odin, Perun..."
There are people who've taken that route in ourday... neopagan revivalists, they're called. Most of them are hardcore Leftists, raising the "rights of indigenous peoples to self-determination and resistance of the colonialist oppressor" high and wide, and therefore allied with the "indigenous" Muslims (especially the "Palestinians") against the West, which is "evil, evil, evil".
There's nothing to totally prevent a neopagan revivalist from thinking straight and joining the alliance against Islam, but the fact is most have chosen not to. As have most secularists (atheists etc.) too. That means, like it or not, the burden of this war is largely on Judeo-Christian shoulders. And the Christians are summoning their OT as a way out of the pacifism conundrum you mentioned.
I disagree with some of the posts here. It is quite unfortunate that the rest of the West hates us. If not for Bush's rheotoric and the pointless war in Iraq we would now be far more secure because we would have allies. As much as some would like, the US can not return to isolationism especially after 9/11. To do so would undermine our security and our intelligence. There SHOULD be international cooperation (between the Western or Westernized countries) of the world. The US image should be one that does not resemble a demon. Jihad CAN be fought with cooperation because many countries will follow the US if there is reason to do so (in most cases b/c of security). However, when the President lies to the world repeatedly in order to convince them to undertake a foolhardy expedition the consequence is that the US loses its allies. We NEED a global attempt at fighting Jihad, the US can not unilaterallly defeat it.
"We Are All Americans" was trotted out in those moments when the cowards held their breath and imagined America would come out swinging like never before. The French wanted to signal their a priori surrender to hegemon America before the bombs fell. Once it became clear we were going to wage limited wars until worse things befall us, they went back to the false bravado of the coward -- the guy who stands mockingly before the soldier standing at attention, knowing full well that he is prohibited from hitting back.
They are doomed in Europe. I only hope the staggering suction created while they spiral down into the sewer doesn't drag us down too -- they will fall in love with us before their end, and clutch at us like they did in WW 2 -- another calamity of their making.
Unless you're muslim, you're in this with us. Better pick up your sticks or guns or whatever you have to fight islam with, be GLAD that you have the United States as a friend and get to doing something with us. You can't fight anything standing and crying like a baby.
«There are people who've taken that route in ourday... neopagan revivalists, they're called. Most of them are hardcore Leftists, raising the "rights of indigenous peoples to self-determination and resistance of the colonialist oppressor"»
Look again, Zionist. The pagans are not all equal. Those that you are referring to are generally new agers, wiccans and alike.
The worshippers of the ancient Indo-European Sky Gods don't often get into leftism. Take a look at the Odinic Rite, the Asatru Folk Assembley, also the McNallens' group, and the bulk of Slavic Pagans widespread in Russia, Ukraine, etc..
Moreover, the fact that some Pagans engage in supporting the Muslims is beside the point - it's a matter of sheer naivity, and ignorance, NOT of doctrine itself, for if they knew what Islam have in store for them, they would probably think again about their position.
Meanwhile, there are several Christians who have sympathy for Islam, since they see in Islam a «younger brother» and the radical Muslims do what many Christians wanted to do but don't have the guts to do: avenge «offenses to the faith» and impose moralistic measures to the entire population.
I didn't say they were. I did say "most", not "all".
"Those that you are referring to are generally new agers, wiccans and alike."
No, I was talking about modern pagans as a whole. By "revivalists" I meant anyone who has chosen to follow a pagan path in our day through study and not through unbroken tradition. That includes Scandinavian pagans as well as Wiccans, and excludes Hindus and African polytheists where there still are such.
"The worshippers of the ancient Indo-European Sky Gods don't often get into leftism. Take a look at the Odinic Rite, the Asatru Folk Assembley, also the McNallens' group, and the bulk of Slavic Pagans widespread in Russia, Ukraine, etc.."
Perhaps it's not "leftism" that's the right word here. What I'm talking about is this: McNallen talks a lot about the solidarity of Germanic pagans with Native Americans, the shared point being that both are the faiths of indigenous peoples. Now, to be quite fair, I haven't heard McNallen voicing support of the, for example, "Palestinians"; yet my experience from groups extolling the indigenous is that they usually go that way, brandishing their indigenism against the "globalizing West" as a whole. That doesn't preclude being against Islam (which, after all, is no less a globalizing religion than Christianity), but the tendency to take the enemy of one's enemy as a friend is strong.
Again, I want to make clear I'm only talking about tendencies.
"Moreover, the fact that some Pagans engage in supporting the Muslims is beside the point - it's a matter of sheer naivity, and ignorance, NOT of doctrine itself, for if they knew what Islam have in store for them, they would probably think again about their position."
Well said.
"Meanwhile, there are several Christians who have sympathy for Islam, since they see in Islam a «younger brother» and the radical Muslims do what many Christians wanted to do but don't have the guts to do: avenge «offenses to the faith» and impose moralistic measures to the entire population."
Actually I have seen that most of those Christians who have sympathy for Islam are those off orthodoxy, Liberal Christians being the best example. The ECUSA's rise in support for Muslims came at about the same time as admitting homosexuals to the priesthood. It's the more fundamentalist Christians who have no delusions about Islam and are willing to go to war against it.
Historical parallels always are a little forced, but I see a lot in common between our present era and the period when Rome became an empire instead of a republic. Our leaders have imperial visions of governing more than their own nation. Movements toward globalization and multiculturalism may be impossible to reverse. Members of the elites in politics, media, religion, business and education embrace the basic tenets of this new secular faith while working diligently to increase their own power, often at the expense of the American people. Islam is perhaps the greatest barrier to the achievement of their vision as it presents the ruling classes with vigorous opposition, and is well positioned to exploit the institutional weaknesses of the present system.
If like me, you think we've given Muslims & Arabs enough chances and you're fed up and think it's time to call a murderous ideology a murderous ideology and remove the threat of terrorism from the free, peace-loving world, sign the petition:
I noticed that CAIR hijacked this tragic event and anniversary by spewing their usual victimhood
and fear of a perceived "Backlash" in the future
from Islamophobia and how Americans blame all Muslims for the actions of a few.
WAIT......Did I say that correctly?, 19 foreign Muslims hijack 4 airplanes and slaughter 3000 civilians that had nothing to do with Palestine or any wars where Muslims are killing other Muslims.
Oh wait a minute, I forgot that Allah approved murdering the filthy unbelivers that are the enemies of Islam and only Muslims can be Innocent Civilians while every non-Muslim on Earth is a valid target for suicide bombers.
Someone tell Hooper to get his head out of the clue-bag while he still has a few brain cells left to see Islam for what it is,infidelophobia
is a form of Racism and intolerance , plus Muslims see all white people as Christians since Islam was Muhammad's religion for Africans or dark skinned Arabs.
Our European "friends" will be crying for help one day to subdue the Mohammedan menace in their countries, and will reap their reward for practicing moral equivalence, political correctness and appeasement. Anger at the U.S. should be directed at Mohammedanism - the real cause of worldwide decay.
The members of any government, any religion, or any culture that do not recognize the superiority of individual freedom and liberty for all do not deserve to be respected or tolerated. They should be shunned, made to feel uncomfortable, not welcomed, and rejected outright. This is the duty of enlightened man. How? Hang an effigy, burn a koran, speak the truth, write a letter, write an essay, write a book, demonstate, hold those elected officials who deny you your rights accountable at the ballot box, don't apologize for others' ignorance, and above all, stand up for what is right by whatever means. Human inferiority is the product of tyranny, fanaticism and ignorance, no matter what the race, the religion, or the government.
Absolute nonsense. Press coverage has been so bad across the globe. They are painting Islamo-fascists with a halo around their head and bottoms too!!!!.
I still go back to Pavlov's conditioning experiment. Press and in general civilized societies are conditioned to expect only sacrifice from USA. This rubbish has to be stopped. USA should start retaliating with unabmiguous objectives and overwhelming force.
Terrorists are not born in isolation. We have to realize that there is a big civilian infrastructure that is supporting islamic-fascists. It is essential that massive force is used to break the will of civilian infrastructure from supporting Islamic-fascists.
Although Bruce Bawer goes on and on about the ugly Europeans in his book of anecdotes, I have met maybe one out of every 50 from my own anecdotal experience. The eurocrats and politicians are as sleazy as our own politicians, but being repetitive, do not write off the European common folk, yet.
Being the wealthiest nation DOES bring with it some envy from others, and for every criticism I have heard about America, there is an equal amount of admiration.
If it's any consolation for the media coverage, the friends and family I have overseas still consider themselves Americans at heart.
"The nations of the world joined Monday in solemn remembrance of Sept. 11 — but for many, resentment of the United States flowed as readily as tears. "
I have something to say and I am furious about these kinds of lies!
Truth is... there was no goodwill after 9/11. Was anybody else online at that time at forums? Any forums? Newsgroups, mailing lists, websites? Their leaders were mocking sympathy, but their people were out full in force... celebrating it, mocking us with it, saying we "deserved it".
Let us face facts -- this is no particuliar country, but many from the US and elsewhere in the world joined into the guilt of the 19 murderers that day by saying, "That was worth it". They have blood on their hands. They might as well have been the very murderers themselves.
This is not a national thing... it is global... it is that we are in a fight against extremists from the Left, the Right, and Islamists (the Right) across the planet. They hate us. We are everything they are not. We represent godliness. They hate God deeply.
They all have a simple common goal: to erect global tyranny, totalitarianism on a global scale.
"As the Islamic drama plays out there, those who are angry with the U.S. now will eventually be asking for our help. from S

That's the way it works fellas, at least twice in the last century we rescued Europe from themselves. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The trouble with Europe is it's currently managed by Europeans.
Sir Henry Morgan writes:
"I know I'm Brit., not American, but we Brits are part of the Western world; America is leader of the Western world."
Thanks Sir Henry, but in case you haven't
noticed, there's a bit of a problem finding
competent leadership over here.
I think the alternatives could have been much
worse, but I despair a bit when I look at the
President, the Senate, the House, the
judiciary...
Oh well, we have this site, and word of mouth.
I am thankful for Robert Spencer.
You British can be tough. Where do you think we
get it from? Put down that damned bottle and get
mean! If you let the vermin fester on your
island they'll outnumber you. Boot'em all out
now.
On this anniversary of 9-11 we should take pause to honor the memory of those that died or were injured by the terrorist attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon. We should particularly remember the brave and selfless acts of emergency responders and the passengers of Flight 93 that ended in tragedy in PA. farmland. Many say that the events of 9-11 are too painful, and it is too soon for them to remember. The problem with type of thinking, is it causes a disconnect, and reduces "remember 9-11" to little more than a slogan. Flying the flag today is a small act that should bring us togather as Americans.
Since 9-11-2001, there have been thousands of terrorist acts resulting in 26,437 dead and 50,992 injured. We should also remember that the President of Iran, was one of the students that seized the U.S.Embassy in Tehran and took hostages. These are people that wish us harm and we should be vigilant.
The rising, enflamed rhetoric of an election year that focuses solely on the Iraq war shows how the issue has been politicized. Further it acts to conceal that this is a war of theology. Many would have us squabble endlessly over cause and effect, when we should remember and return to the solidarity of purpose that followed 9-11. Divided we fall, with solidarity we will prevail.
We should learn from our failures, but should also recognize our successes. From the ouster of the Taliban from Afghanistan, to the recent arrests of the Jihadists in England that were plotting 9-11 type attacks, there are many successes that deserve praise. The fact that we have not been attacked on US soil in 5 years is a tribute to those that serve to protect our rights and privleges.
It took approximately 9 years for Al Queda to destroy the World Trade Center from the date of the first attack. Clearly, these people are capable of long range planning and want to inflict as much damage on us as possible. Ultimately, it does not matter what political party controls the government in the future, those leaders will have to deal with this threat to our safety. Appeasement and isolation are the roads to disaster. If we fail to remember, we will be doomed suffer another 9-11 or worse.
GrimReaperxxx... Has a point, and I must chime back in here. "Terrorist" only win, if we are terrified!
If I were Donald Rumsfield, I'd stand at a press conference with the President, the VP and All of the "Joint Chiefs of Staff" and announce that we are today moving forward with operations "Clear Hearing!"
"My dear fellow Americans, tonight address is not geared for you or your children. Please ask all minor children to leave the room."
C o u n t to ten!
"Dear members of the Greater Islam Community –
I promise, to kill 1000 Jihadist for every ONE innocent American death. I am here to clearly warn you, to cease your Jihad!"
"Failure to do so will cause you to suffer 100 fold, for every action you take. The government of the United States of America promises to bomb you back to sand…if you do not heed our words. If you want terror, we will allow you to experience the same."
"Yes Sir, Tehran! Yes Sir, 15 Seconds to detonation, Yes, Sir – It’s the 10K MOAB.
Yes, Sir, and Godspeed to you to Sir."
Enough Already – You must fight fire with fire. You must stand-up to Evil, or you allow it to prevail.
You must shine the light on truth, because it does, Good prevails over Evil, everytime!
Some of us Europeans are different. Some of us know, that Islam is the enemy and America is the best friend Europe ever had. I just watched a nine-eleven-documentation on TV with tears in my eyes. Some of us rembember all those who lost loved ones and those who have been traumatized. Some of us love America. I do.
But we are a minority, perhaps not a tiny minority, but a minority. The problem is not only our governments and Mainstream Media. It's the normal people as well. And that has nothing to do with the war in Iraq. It started long before that war.
It is not as bad like that, The Goobs. If you support America, you are verbally attacked, you are called an Islamophobe, a "Bushist", sometimes a fascist or even a Nazi, a supporter of massmurders and so on, most often you are laughed at for being an idiot, but you are not fired from your job, arrested or attacked by Muslims. You do not yet need much courage to speek the truth - maybe things will change, but today it is not yet dangerous.
Europeans who support Islam and blame America just do it because they WANT to do it. There are no simple excuses for holding one's tongue :-(
Many otherwise intelligent, progressive people I heard from immediately following 9/11 seemed to react in what was to me, at the time, a peculiar manner. They did not waste a word nor a tear for the thousands of victims, but instead indulged in the usual gratifying handwringing about all the massive public, random "backlash" against Western Muslims that they were certain was sure to follow. After all, Western countries are full of ill-educated, violent, irrational, racist louts (of course, meaning white louts, heaven forbid there could be louts of other colours) so what else can you expect to happen?
When this "backlash" did not in fact happen, when it was clear that there were not and would never be gangs of raging Whiteys torching mosques, beating up Muslims in the streets and attacking Muslim homes and business, these same "intelligent, progressive" people were strangely silent in explaining it. One thing that did not change is they continued to not give a shit about the victims.
I was naive back then; I understand what is behind it now. These people feel guilt-ridden. They will not allow themselves to feel completely righteous anger and sorrow for an attack ON THEIR OWN WORLD, because they are in full-scale denial that it is, indeed, their world, in a way that places like Baghdad, Mogadishu, Yemen, Kabul etc. never, ever will be. In trying to be "fair" and to give as much personal, emotional weight to each violent death that happens in these countries as they give to similar deaths in their own world, they are denying a fundamental aspect of their own humanity.
None of this is to say that the violent death of an American, a Brit, or a Spaniard is in any abstract moral way worse than a similar death outside the Western world. Of course it isn't. My point is that when it happens in a place in a world that we consider to be "ours", it hurts that much more. This is natural and nothing to be ashamed of.
I know people in New York City (one of whom was walking through her neighbourhood in Brooklyn when she saw the planes hit the towers); one of my family members has in-laws there and several of my family members visit there often. I dream of visiting it myself someday. I have been to London twice and my family and I have many friends there; my sister and mother had been in London less than one month before the attacks there; another sister, her husband, and daughter went to London a few weeks after 7/7. My mother had visited Madrid the year before the subway attacks there. She talked about what a vibrant, friendly, and life-loving city it was. And on it goes. None of us had and ever would in our wildest dreams consider visiting a place like Mogadishu, no disrespect intended to the people there. We are Westerners, and the Western World is OUR world, whether we can deal with the associated guilt of that or not.
When a close friend or family member dies, you are far more devasted than when a casual acquaintence dies. When somebody attacks a member of your family or a close friend, you react more strongly than if the same thing happened to a total stranger. In the same way, we have a right to be angry when our world is attacked. I know I was. And I still am.
Andrew Card and Karen Hughes were paraded across FOX this afternoon, both singing the praises of Islam. Did you know that your tax dollars are being spent to send US Muslims to the ‘stans and talk-up life in the US (surely they are not passing out citizenship applications)?
Why our leadership cannot acknowledge the clear danger we face is beyond me. Let's hope that it is out of unwarranted faith in human character.

We might have a better chance with the Roosevelt-Churchill ‘in Vino veritas’ approach.
This is still a country OF the people....i have written my senator's to express the urgency for them to do something, anything,to put some kind of restrictions on the governments that hate us(muslem)...might as well try....but then again they seem only to care about their own power and keeping it ,than they are in listening to us.
It's not just "countries" that are mad at us. I know an upper-middle-class woman who lives in an upper-middle-class area of a major American city who spends her free time (she owns a nice home and has a well-paying job) protesting Bush and the war in Iraq and doesn't have a clue about how bad Islam is, thinking the problem is America and the West's post-colonial "arrogance" against poor Noble Savages including nice brown Muslims. Unfortunately, she has millions of Westerners on her side.

Now, I am mad at Bush too, but for a different reason. I think he is too timid and corrupt to stand up to the wahabi masters who have financed him all the way. Did you see how fast he retracted the 'Islamofascist' reference? And why are my tax-dollars distributed to stinking jihadi countries as Jazia? You see where I am going with this...
Oh this sounds like my husbands comments during the Bush speech tonight. My god you have no idea what nosense I have to deal with in my own home. We were eating dinner when the Bush speech came on, 3 minutes into it we got into such a heated argument I took my dinner plate and left the room. My husband says "now these countries cannot trust us" (meaning the Muslim countries and Iraqis) that we "should try to help them and discuss things rather then bombing people, some who used to be on our side, we are only making more terrorists "....it's BLAME AMERICA at my dinner table ! Then he told me "there are a lot of idiots who believe the same things you do, but that doesn't make you an idiot!. I'm a conservative who knows what Islam is about and what it wants to do, to take over the world for Allah. He thinks everything is Americas fault, we are imperalists....Is anyone out there looking for a wife ?!

Oh Oh.. sorry to hear the commotion at the dinner table, but does your husband know that US gives away jazya to Egypt and Jordan? And what have Egype and Jordan given us? Zawahiri? Atta? Arafat? Not to mention the billions to Pakistan, that gave the first WTC bombing and funded the scond. And is still hosting Bin LAden. See where out 'talk' and 'aid' gets us? Just a suggestion for the next dinner-table conversation....
So two officials talking about how wonderful islam is. As i said, we are doomed witht his kind of thinking.
so stupid, so stupid. Islam is the enemy!

And see, that is my problem with the top brass. Dumb Dubya and cluless Condi are dhimmis, even with the 'war on terror' that is just spending billons to get nowhere. See what I mean when 'Fish rots at the head'?
Hate us, go ahead. Don’t worry though western countries, we’ll bail you out in a few years when it hits the fan. (France)
Hate me all you want Arab lands. I have an AR-15 that doesn’t think much of you either!
The only reason that we can’t call it like it is; The BS that the blacks went through in the past few decades. The American public is far too scared to be called prejudice. We seem to so be so scared of that we are willing to put our kids at risk rather than speak out.
You guys don't get and never will. Bush squandered the 9-11 goodwill, when he and his cronies cooked the intelligence and lied (and are still lying) to justify an invasion of Iraq, an Invasion that was on his, and PNAC's agenda well before 9-11.
Afghanistan, the Taliban yes.. and the world agrees, but Iraq, no.. So what if Saddam was a monster, at one time he was our monster until our government screwed that up as well.
Osama hated Saddam, and so did the Mullahs of Iran, and the Saudis and Kuwaiti's and Gulf States were afraid of him.. so we wasted our blood money, our good will for what? To make the world safe for Islam? To faciliate the Jihad? Which is exactly what has happened and is happening..only rightist "conservatives" are as dumb as liberal leftists, eat up with ideology, and can't see the forest for the trees.
I live in Canada and was at my local pub when a college student claiming to be an "American-History major was happy to enlighten me on his recently learned "truth" about America:
Thomas Jefferson, indeed, most of the founding fathers were racist slave owners.
Franklin D. Roosevelt knew about (if not actually planned) the attack on Pearl Harbour.
Atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the worst evil ever perpetrated by man against man. Second most egregious inhuman act of all time was America's genocide and subsequent oppression of the native American "Indians".
He claimed all the above points were discussed in length by the professor and could be referenced in the course textbook.
5 years after 9/11, many angry at U.S., well the sad thing is the wacky looney liberal left such as the michael moores, move.on.org types, hate the US as well. It is difficult enough to fight the islamist among us, but when you have the looney left anti American, anti West, anti Christian, you have more work fighting these wackos. the funny thing is the loonely left will be the first ones killed off by the muslim horde.
I've been told by my legal eagles that I should desist from posting here in the meantime but I can't let this one pass.
From a posting above:
"Some of us Europeans are different. Some of us know, that Islam is the enemy and America is the best friend Europe ever had. I just watched a nine-eleven-documentation (sic) on TV with tears in my eyes. Some of us rembember all those who lost loved ones and those who have been traumatized (sic). Some of us love America. I do."
Well, Amen to that. I couldn't agree more if I tried and I'm damned if I'm going to keep quiet. Afghanistan was, and is, perfectly justifiable. Iraq may, or may not, have been a tactical mistake but it certainly was not, and never can be, despite the revisionists, a moral mistake. I read the whole article and I was ashamed - deeply, deeply ashamed - of the European politicians quoted therein.
Know this America - they do not speak for all of us. I personally doubt that they speak for the majority of us - time will tell.
For those of you who may be interested, I start my new job on Monday the eighteenth of this month and I am still taking legal advice about my dismissal from my former employment. That I am going to take them either into Court or to an Industrial Tribunal seems, at this point, to be inevitable. My new employers have been fully informed of my political opinions and have no difficulty with them, I have merely been asked (not ordered but I suppose that I should consider it to be a polite order) to refrain from using their servers during working hours to post to sites but I may use them during my breaks, morning, lunch and afternoon, - I've also been given a higher salary (£4K more) than I was getting which is very welcome as you might imagine. Thank-you all, once again, for your very kind messages of support.
"The ECUSA's rise in support for Muslims came at about the same time as admitting homosexuals to the priesthood."
And the two are related precisely how?
I suppose you are just another bl***y fag-hater - it's alright, I've got used to it: there's lots of them on this site. Well, we're all in this mess together and I, as a gay man, have as much to lose as you do if the jihad is successful - so stop trying to equate gays with moslems, or gay rights with the upsurge in the moslem jihad or politically correct thought in one church or another.
Gays don't want to remove your democracy. Gays don't want to fly planes into buildings. Gays don't explode bombs on trains in Madrid or on the London tube or on Bombay's commuter railways. Gays don't persecute women or hang children. Gays don't make you dress in a certain way (oops, hang on, maybe we do - sorry, ignore that one). Gays don't want you to live under Sharia law. Moslems do want all of those things and more. There's the difference. But then, I suppose that you thought that no gay would post here. Well, now you know better!
Yes there are scumbag traitors in this country accusing the president night and day of lying.
When liberals throw out random facts like saying our founding fathers owned slaves, they think they're impressing others by saying something unpopular. Liberals are careless with words; their idea of slavery and war is something they read in a book, something they've never experienced from the inside. Remember, people rarely say what they mean.
The emotionally-charged leftist, on the other hand, is someone who religiously believes America is evil *because* of those inconvenient truths which do not add up to a picture-perfect concept of national identity.
Naturally, many citizens have a problem with our country's history because government schools teach kids to assume we live in a picture-perfect world. Once they find out reality doesn't add up to what the government taught them, they become highly distrustful of government.
That distrust of people results in individual bias: the idea that anyone who disagrees with me is part of the problem. People get angry because they perceive a real threat. When that threat is just some confused kid, the adults' emotions compound the communication barrier.
Political disease spreads when these doctrinal gurus manipulate impressionable idiots into broadcasting (parroting) their talking points as a means of raising hell between regular people--who otherwise would just like a beer and a vacation.
Take the time to ask enough questions to figure out whether you are talking to a sheep or a shepherd. And save the jihad for the jihadees.
Yep, we queers sure do find many things more important - just as you straights do when contemplating your lives. The progress of the jihad being waged against us all is far, far, far more important than how anybody thinks of us, just as it is, or should be, for you straights, for we will all suffer if the moslems are successful in their endeavours.
Oh, and good chocolate and decent liquor is also more important - but I've heard tell that both of those are also more important for you straights too (or at least for straight women)!
Thank-you. It looks like it at the moment. I can't believe my luck in getting another post so quickly - and it is a better job, too. You're quite right, as well, they do seem to be nicer and more tolerant people. But it is a much smaller private company owned by five people who seem to know what they are doing - the whole set-up has a much more personal feel to it and everybody seems to believe in what their doing, too.
Dominic; I don't want to compromise your case. But I’d like to know if it the person having a problem with this website was employed by the taxpayers of Great Britain.
Cuz for a moment there the focus of your attention seemed to be on some whacky fundie. Most people are immune to at least one type of motormouth by the time they reach typing age.
Hahaha liquor's not gonna cure my ailments tonight dude, but thanks anyway.
We all sit and mourne those we lost, we cry about the hatred in the world, we scream for the violence to stop, we sue everyone who reminds us of the horrible racist past our nation is guilty of, we hold hands and give candy and teddy bears to kids and sing songs about peace, our leaders disappear, we sit and watch muslim radicals walk right across our border, we let politicians demand for us to give up in Iraq, to give up in Afghanistan, to give up on Israel, to give up on democracy, and to avoid war entirely unconditionally...
Our enemies kill us and laugh at how weak our nation has become.
--- "Submit yourself to ordeals and test yourself in fire. Relinquish the emotion which rests upon a mistaken belief, and seek to feel fully that emotion which fits the facts." ---
Actually, no. The company I used to work for didn't have any higher a level of government contracts than any other company in the UK either, I suppose. The interesting thing, as far as I am concerned, although it's only something that I have learned of in the last twenty-four hours - and through my lawyer at that (I'm ashamed of myself, really, because I should have done the research before I joined them) - is that my former employers are 40% owned by nine middle-eastern companies, four of which are registered in Qatar, two in Saudi Arabia, two in Egypt and one in Syria. I don't want to be more specific than that at this moment in time. I hope you understand.
Will do. In the meantime I'm enjoying my week off but even so I must to bed for a few hours. God Bless and may angels watch over you when you sleep tonight.
"When liberals throw out random facts like saying our founding fathers owned slaves, they think they're impressing others by saying something unpopular."
Smearing the Founding Fathers with the fact they owned slaves (and killed poor Indians, etc.) is hardly "unpopular" -- it is, in fact, the dominant paradigm for Americans and has been for the last 50-odd years.
I choose not to join the bandwagon of 9-11 remembrances this year -- in the media and elsewhere. What I’d like to do instead is share a story from a friend of mine who lives in Saudi Arabia. We worked there together for years. Those of us Westerners working and living in the Middle East, and who knew and loved most of the Saudis we worked and lived with, were appalled when the American media immediately pointed the finger and made all Saudis out to be terrorists (just like many people abroad think all Americans are fat and lazy and rich). Shortly after 9-11, when international communities within Riyadh began to be targeted with car bombs and other terrorist type activity, she sent me the letter below. In this ever increasing violent world in which we live, it’s imperative that we stand up — no matter how difficult it becomes — and find a way to walk out of darkness.
Dear Friend. . .
We held a prayer vigil last night on our housing compound, and Hesham came forward to express his regret and his sorrow that individuals from his own country and religious background had done such horrific things in the name of religion. So many people were touched by his genuine outpouring of emotion that afterwards many came up to him (even those who had never met him), to hug him, shake his hand and thank him for his words. They also reassured him that they viewed recent happenings not as an Arab thing, or an American thing, or a Christian thing, or a Muslim thing, but as a tragedy to all humanity, in the wake of which we must all stand together as members of the same global community.
I believe that labels of any kind are a bad thing, and political, racial, cultural and religious branding can only breed hatred, fear and intolerance as members of each artificial, socially created group struggle to belong by excluding others. Patriotism may be thought of as a good thing; when it stirs people to hate others, it is a destructive thing. The time has surely come in the world when the old us against them mentality has to be set aside in favor of a single us, or we are certainly destined to continue to destroy each other in the name of whatever causes or ideologies keeps us from recognizing that we are all more alike than different.
This is a sad time. I am sending this out to all of you hoping that each of us can find a healing way out of our sadness - a way guided by the true positive power of our common humanity. Although it may seem impossible at times, the power of friendship and understanding can truly conquer those dark, negative forces whose only purpose is to rob us of our love for each other and to replace that love with mistrust, hatred and intolerance.
Healing does take time, but it will happen. I remind myself every day that being alive and on this earth is a privilege, and that it is up to me to ensure that I give as much love and understanding to others as I receive from others.
Has anyone every seen anything as sick as this?
I couldn't even read it all.
Did anyone catch Bill O'Reilly today? He had a great guest: sister of one of the murdered pilots.
You would have all been proud of her. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if she posted here. She was so articulate. She nailed it. The msm, the lefty loonies, Sheehan, the Jersey girls,,,,etc
Also in a recent speech by Mark Steyn here in OZ
he has said Europe is already gone too far - finished. The US, Canada and Australia now know enough to fight this war on islam - that is what it is.
I was in AZ on 9/11. I doubt even George Lucas could do a scene like that. It is an insult to all the victims and there families to think this was staged by the US and possibly Israel.
People believe OBL when he calls the US and Israel terrorist states: why don't they believe him when he has admitted more than once that he did this, and this was his second attempt!!
The world is a sick place, and the sickness is islam and it is almost incurable.
when the American media immediately pointed the finger and made all Saudis out to be terrorists
Geez, I must have missed that news bulletin, because I only heard the part about the Saudis being our "staunch allies", and how we all needed to be on the lookout for a non-existent "backlash" against Saudis. I just remember President Bush holding hands and kissing the Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah in the Rose Garden. But maybe you have a link to one of the stories where the media claims that all Saudis are terrorists?
And no-one at JW/DW has claimed that "all Saudis...[are] terrorists" either. But we have pointed out that Saudis, including members of the Saudi Royal Family, have contributed vast sums of money to Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, among other groups designated as terrorist by the U.S. government. The officially sanctioned sect of Islam that is supported by the Saudi family is Wahhabism, which is, we are told by our leaders, the only sect that is "radical" and "extremist". We have pointed out that Christians and Jews are not able to practice their religion in Saudi Arabia. And there are many other practices in Saudi Arabia, having to do with the rights of women and children, that, ummm, are at odds with Western values. But since your friend was holding a prayer vigil in their Saudi compound, they would know all about this.
Your friend said
They also reassured him that they viewed recent happenings not as an Arab thing, or an American thing, or a Christian thing, or a Muslim thing, but as a tragedy to all humanity, in the wake of which we must all stand together as members of the same global community.
I'm all for a big group hug, but it seems to be a Muslim-killing-non-Muslim thing, at least to this news watcher. And those Muslims doing the killing say that they are doing it in the name of Islam, and they back it up with quotes from the Qur'an. I even went and looked it up, and gosh darn it, they were right! The Qur'an did say that it is the moral duty of Muslims to kill non-Muslims, wherever they find them.
I believe that labels of any kind are a bad thing, and political, racial, cultural and religious branding can only breed hatred, fear and intolerance as members of each artificial, socially created group struggle to belong by excluding others.
Your friend sounds very open minded. Who needs judgemental labels like "German Nazis" or "Italian Fascists" during WWII? We could have seen the lonely child hiding behind that little mustache, and given him a big hug too. Maybe your kind-hearted friend can convince the Muslims that the Qur'an is wrong, and that they shouldn't breed hatred and intolerance of non-Muslims. Because as you point out, patriotism can stir hatred towards others, but Islam seems to really stir hatred towards others, and since they believe that Allah himself has ordained this hatred, it's really hard to get them to change their minds.
To Dominic: I learned from the above postings that it seems you have lost your previous job because of political reasons. So I am sory I wrote, this would be not possible in Europe. I really did not know! I just wanted to point out, that it is still possible to resist the mainstream opinion without suffering hard consequences and that there are no excuses similiar to the excuses people in cruel dictatorships can offer.
Maybe you are a majority in Britain, I hope so. In Germany unfortunately we are definitly a minority. Though people are not very sympathetic to Muslim immigration, they are not very sympathetic to America either. The most stupid conspiration theories are circulating and there is still that grotty "No blood for oil"-thing. It is outrageous and it is foolish! Their own appeasement is caused by ravenousness for cheap oil and it will cause much more bloodshed - WITHIN our own countries. People are so self-righteous in their holy neutrality: "Everyone who fihgts is evil - everyone who refuses to fight is good. Lalala... we are all nice peaceloving children of one earth. Lalala."
To Nariz: Bush did not squander the 9-11 goodwill!
There has never been a 9-11 goodwill in large parts of Western Europe, only a 9-11 shock and 9-11 diplomatic lip service. Maybe the Iraq war was wrong. So what? Is this a reason to betray a friend? Is this a reason to side with an enemy? No it isn't! I know - and every decent person should know - that it was extremely difficult for your country, for your president, to take the right steps after 9-11. So - if something has turned out to have eventually been wrong - there is no reason to say and write shameful things as in the linked AP-article.
All of us Europeans who honestly sided with the USA on 9-11-2001 still side with the USA on 9-12-2006.
As a Brit, can I say we'd be rather grateful if someone would send us a combat battalion into Helmut province please. And here's the rub. Putting to one side any speculation as to whether Nato loves or hates Americans (really, stop that)...it seems we're not thinking this through. If the French are sending thousands of troops to Lebanon, where they will be irrelevant, rather than into Afghanistan, where we could use them...that looks like the Jihaddists have been able to pin down our resources. This is about the current US leadership, which seems to not be able to call in favours for troop deployments like the Afghan campaign. Comments that Rumsfeld have made haven't helped, and with Bush keeping him, there doesn't seem to be a lot of good will. So many we look to the next US president to build an anti-Jihad consensus?
It is quite unfortunate that the rest of the West hates us. If not for Bush's rheotoric and the pointless war in Iraq we would now be far more secure because we would have allies.
Tautalos
Allies? THAT'S A LAUGH!
Let me set you straight. I LIVED in Europe many years BEFORE 911 and I want you to wake up and be aware that the hate was already there BEFORE Bush was in office.
The background for that hate is JEALOUSY. Remember, France, England, Spain, Germany...were at one time world powers with a huge amount of colonies.
They are no longer relevant and they hate us because of it. The power is gone but the pride remains. We were 'tolorable' when they needed us to protect them from Russia during the cold war.
Chirac is the idiot behind the desire for the United States of Europe because the French resent that we are the remaining world power. They also resent us for having to bail their pathetic surrendering butts out in the wars and they would have been speaking German if it were not for us...but rather than appreciation, they moan and whine about us not coming to their rescue sooner. Unappreciative twits.
Their 'sympathy' for the terrorist attack on 911 was about as short-lived as the Dimmicrat's willingness to work in a non-partisan manner in Washington. The first chance they got to revert back to criticism of the US and the present government, they dived on it.
As for Iraq...I witnessed the blatent usage of pulpits in the catholic and 'church' of england organisations prior to the war. These so-called 'clergy' used the pulpits for political purposes and these same replacement theology congregations marched side by side with the muslims in London and elsewhere. Both organisations have been known to be anti-Israel and I sat in a CoE meeting where they outright said that allah was the same as the God of the bible....before they prayed in Arabic using the name Allah! This in a so-called 'Christian' Church!
The CoE will become part of the Catholic organisation soon...this is the goal and the Archbishop has as much as said it.
The Pope, who all world leaders meet with (not to get blessed or for confession) has HUGE political power and this is well known. It is also very PC and very telling that he always refers to Israel as the 'holy land'...refusing to offend the Arabs by calling it Israel.
FRANCE (a catholic country) with ties to Mugabee and many in the Arab world, did not want us to go into Iraq and mess up their money making deals with Saddam Hussain. So...they used the pressure of the pulpits to try to raise an outcry so that they could maintain their deals and to be PERFECTLY HONEST...they would not have cared if the Kurds were gassed every day of the week from here on out...so long as they continued to make money from Iraq. SO, in reality, they didn't give a damn about Iraqis, yet the hypocrites used the pulpits as if they did. Same goes for Chirac's buddy in Germany. This also spilled over in the UK which of course is primarily a socialist/secular PC country....with the MAJOR exception of the Muslims there.
European media preaches PC trash all the time. Christians and Jews are very much a TINY minority there. Christians meet in their homes because the organisations there are dismissive of the Word of God and are more about being 'clubs'for their members. Walk in to a meeting with a bible and they'll look at you like you have 3 heads. I know this from personal experience. These organisations have little tolerance for bible-believing Christians because their members look down their noses at you if you actually take God's word literally....yet on every occasion in the scriptures when a bible verse is quoted...it is taken LITERALLY.
So, before you think that our policies have created hate in Europe, just know that the hate that is there already existed and the anti-Christians/anti-Jews/anti-Americans have taken advantage of this, because it is always popular to hate America.....since the time when we kicked the red coats butts with the help of the French a long time enemy of England. Truth is, little has changed.
Now the UK is getting rid of Tony Blair. Watch out. This is horrible news for Christians, Jews, America and Israel. The UK is on its way downhill FAST.
It's only a matter of time before the UK folds to pressure by the EU to turn it's back on us in favor of political power and financial security in Europe. This is why we moved back to the US.
America...love it, defend it...or get the hell out and move to Europe.
Everything you wrote is absolutely corrrect, The Goobs. The European attitude towards America, Israel, Bible-true Christians and Jews is - in a weaker form - exactly the same attitude Muslims have. There is no sympathy for Muslims, especially not for all the retarded Sharia-crap, but there is much accordance with Muslims concernig the Old World's jealousy and offended pride.
well Goobs, you've managed to come across as the most naive poster I've ever read on JW. For you to say 'The CoE will become part of the Catholic organization soon...this is the goal and the Archbishop has as much as said it' is the most historically inappropriate statement. The terror activity in Northern Ireland was supported specifically to reject your statement. Europe has had countless wars on this very subject, and you think it's going to happen? Oh, and would you leave your Christian perspective at the door? You'll find the most important European supporters of the US are in the pub, not the church.
I find it really rude that in a week where the UK lost 14 servicemen in Afghanistan you have the nerve to suggest the UK (like a typically uninformed yank, you recognized Scotland and Wales as being included in the name England) is weakening as an ally and will abandon the Anglo-Saxon principles we fought for generations to defend.
Now I can't speak as loudly for my French, German and Dutch friends, but you know what, together with the Aussies, Kiwis and Canadians, we're the only friends you got.
Just to be clear. We like the Americans. We want them to lead the war on terror. But we feel that this current administration has made numerous mistakes, and is too arrogant to review and revise strategy.
Now I'm real sorry your UK prayer meeting didn't give you the warm fuzzy you were looking for, and I'm real glad you took the option: 'Europe, love it or leave it' to heart.
In fact, the multiple posters who flame Europe saying its going down the toilet are a lot like the Bush Administrations Diplomacy. If you had the tact to recognize there is a significant minority of EU people that support anti-jihad movements, and a broad popular base of support for military intervention in locations like Afghanistan, then you wouldn't piss your EU supporters off.
Blame America and Israel for all the worlds ills. Bush lied and people died...Its all That lying Bushs fault that soldiers are dying. Its Bushs fault that all these countrys hate us. It is Bush policies that caused 911. One ranting liberal told me that the high cost of cottage cheese was Bushs fault (liberal logic). Cottage cheese priced out of reach for the average liberal is...un-American...Bush should be impeached for that if nothing else...liberals need cheap cottage cheese and cant be denied...Bush has got to go...
Phrases like "...a typically uninformed yank..." don't help you make a counter point, especially to charges that Europeans are arrogant America bashers.
Hypocrisy is always a danger when confronting those with whom you disagree and amounts to shooting one's self in the foot.
We don't all sit around watching NASCAR, drinking beer in our wife-beater shirts, lighting off fireworks. But even among those who do, many know that Scotland and Wales are not part of England. You might want to lay off the assumptions that we former Colonials are a lot of ignorant bumpkins. Such assertions make one sound like a typically uninformed european.
Oh yeah, seems that America has quite a bit more support among the Eastern European nations (not to mention Japan, South Korea, and numerous Central American countries) than it has had for a long time from the Western half of the continent. I'm sure those people don't appreciate being considered non-entities when it comes to speaking about European-American relations.
Believe it or not, Western Europe is not the center of the world any more than, as many Europeans are quick to remind us, the US.
Five years after 9/11, and still only confusion and incremental progress. Well, I for one believe that the western civilization (of the freethinking west) will be destroyed in the hands of Islam. Osama is laughing his lungs out, having released a video that shows how Al-Qaeda are training themselves for a fresh round of kill. The western infidel would meet the same fate as that of Nick Berg, Paul Johnson, Eugene Anderson and Ken Bigley. The next Abu Musab al-Zarqwai is in the making to take down the west.
Americans are clueless. They are still angry, and more amusingly, confused. They don't know what to do. Persons like Robert Spencer are just marginals. The American has lost all respect for himself and his country and value systems. I'll cite only two features that justify my views.
(1) The immigration to USA by Muslims has increased after 9/11. Andrea Elliot (September 10, 2006) has filed this report with NYT. NYT Report on Muslim Immigration
This shows that Americans don't care if Muslims increase in number, and thus increase in membership of a community that is all poised to wage Jihad and destroy west by their exploding demographics. Soon, Sharia laws shall kick the US Constitution out.
(2) Interstingly, more Americans are enchanted by Islam after 9/11. Many are awestruck by the exhibition of its raw power. That an ideology can breathe life into a social system that can take on the world's mighty (Uncle Sam) and get away with by inflicting a mortal wound, has entrapped some Americans. By many estimates many Americans are converting to Islam after 9/11. Read the DAWN newspaper link Woman who lost 8 relatives in 9/11 embraces Islam
I feel that Americans are becoming increasingly more stupid, as these two features show that USA is doomed to be converted to United States of Islam in the near future.
Why Americans are angry ? The above newsitems show that this should not be the case.
I think Robert Spencer (and well-wishing JW bloggers) is (are) actually fighting a losing battle.
As for my being an informed naive yank, that is just the sort of rubbish talk that I heard from your pub folks. I have wonderful British friends who are very supportive and they are Christians.
As for warm fuzzies...I don't go to church for tingly experiences. I go to hear the Word of God. Unfortunately, when I went to the CoE, I heard nothing of the kind. I heard that allah and the God of the Bible are one in the same.
I lived and ran a very successful business in the UK for many years. I watched the anti-American, anti-conservative (which is really anti-biblical Christian), anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian, pathetically PC media day in and day out.
Prior to moving to the UK, I was an Independent. I voted for whomever I felt was most suited for the job. Living in the UK, listening to the European rhetoric made me disgusted. What was I supposed to love again? I loved my friends and family there. I loved the countryside. I loved the British culture. I hated the way Brussels is destroying it all.

That's so typical. Won't save folks like you from being eventual victims of Jihad by American Muslims. Truth hurts, some of us know that and with what you wrote are vindicated.
Nariz: The "good will" towards America you mention was for the most part a mirage. It was mostly butt-kissing by user-nations that wanted freebies from Uncle Sam and conned him by appearing to be the 'allies' they never were. Muslims are Kuran-bound to be enemies of 'infidel' nations like America. you know that.
Bush inadverdantly exposed these nations (like France and Germany) for what they were. I am grateful to know they were phonies. There is nothing worse that a phony.
The right thing to do is rarely if ever the popular thing to do.
I 'get it'. You're wrong. As usual.
The only thing that has ever stopped Islamic conquest has been FORCE. Those who fail to use it fall to Islam as the EU is proving nowadays. Your comments to the contrary are therefore a waste of cyberspace.
That woman you cited from the Dawn is an idiot. If you read that article, which went
At first, Safia’s family didn’t take her seriously and some colleagues at her banking job made fun of her new attire. She dared not pray at work. Mostly, Safia kept her new faith at home, learning about her religion on web sites and Islamic chat rooms.
Why did she not dare pray at work? Why did she feel the need to keep her faith at home?
This woman is a disgrace to the memory of her dead relatives - much like the children of Asma bint Marwan who converted to Islam after their mother was slaughtered while breastfeeding. And you brilliantly project her condition to 9/11 victims in particular, and Americans in general.
My response to these countries as a whole angry at us: spare us those crocodile tears - it's our loss, not yours, and go piss up a waterfall.
MAYBE they are mad because we stand up to terror and they cower in the face of terror. and they know it.
No further comment necessary. DITTO.
AP = "Appeasing Propagandist"
In the real world, it is Islam and the Jihadist, which are waging war in 28 conflicts. Kashmir,
Sudan, Darfur, Thailand, Philippines, on and on.
The problem is that the MsM "is afraid" to report the truth and the facts, because it's not PC.
Islam is the problem, it's not the solution.
May the "Peace of GOD," be with each and every family member who lost loved ones 5 years and during the battles since. The Truth will prevail.

Everybody likes the underdog. That is, until the underdog is found to be rabid and bites your children.
True Americans, know better.
"Everybody likes the underdog. That is, until the underdog is found to be rabid and bites your children"
Amen, Limes.
R.I.P. to the Fallen Hero's of 9-11-01! We will never forget you!
And to the traitors and sympathizers, here in America, who constantly side with the terrorists, you will not be forgotten either!
--Samuel Adams, 1776
Another reason America took such a bad rap: we were the ones who informed the world there was a war afoot at a time when no one wanted to know that. In short, after 9-11, America found itself stuck with a (very) bad case of the messenger being hung. Although it wasn't our doing that the jihad had begun and it certainly wasn't our message to transmit, it worked out the same and we got hung by a good portion of the gobal community.
"We are all Americans"

I would prefer to call them ‘Glorious Potatoes of Mohammed’.
A message to all the Critics of America's War on Terrorism:
History has already demonstrated that the ONLY THING THAT WILL STOP THE ONSLAUGHT OF ISLAM IS FORCE! And America has yet to use enough of it.
So quit your belly-aching.
As you dismiss leftist opinions in USA, please dismiss leftist opinions in europe. Unfortunately some of them are prime ministers or presidents.
The main stream media and AP and La Monde in particular are a bunch of white flag waving surrender monkeys.
God bless all those who lost loved ones 5 years ago and since fighting the good fight. You will not be forgotten.
This article was written by an idiot.

Your friend,

What would you expect?
Hey, Nietz... I mean Tautalos,
"Let's return to Zeus, Jupiter, Lug, Odin, Perun..."
To the "many" who are angry at us, GET OVER IT!

Pass this along to every taxpaying citizen you know.
Disgusting isn't it?
CAN YOU BELIEVE WE SUPPORT THIS? MONEY GIVEN TO THE VERY COUNTRIES THAT ARE TRYING OVERTLY EVERY DAY TO DESTROY US!
Time to cut the foreign aid purse strings.
The path seems clear enough to me.
MEMRI has released a documentary on Arab and Muslim reactions to 9/11:
http://memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=Announcement3806
This film, which can be viewed from standard media platforms on a computer, should be widely circulated.
Tautalos,
"The pagans are not all equal."

"and fear of a perceived "Backlash" in the future
from Islamophobia and how Americans blame all Muslims for the actions of a few."
somebody should remind the stupids that muslims still hold grudge for the crusades of 1000 years ago and are nowadays looking for revenge.
Why our small "revenge" is not right?

I posted your link on Up Pompeii, over here in Britland, after signing it myself.
I know I'm Brit., not American, but we Brits are part of the Western world; America is leader of the Western world.
So lead.
You know we're with you.
That petition is as much for us as for you. We've ALL had enough.
God bless USA
Let them hate us.

That's the way it works fellas, at least twice in the last century we rescued Europe from themselves. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The trouble with Europe is it's currently managed by Europeans.

Le Monde famously said on 9/12, that "We (the French) are all Americans now."
It wasn't to last. C'est dommage.
But it will return. One day soon, I will say over here, that
"We are all French now".
From Root_Cause; Put down that damned bottle and get
mean!

Bondservant; If things keep going the way they are, I may have three openings.
WAKE UP AMERICA!
It’s coming…..Are you ready?
Well, he finally said it, ... thousands, tens of thousands, if not millions, ready to attack...
God help us.
Dominic.
Great to hear the good news Dominic. Here's to hoping that your story will show up on Dhimmi Watch as a big win for the good guys.
(one day)
ZionistYoungster,
"The ECUSA's rise in support for Muslims came at about the same time as admitting homosexuals to the priesthood."
Dominic.
Hey Xero G (and other fellow anti-leftists)
And save the jihad for the jihadees.
limes,
Thank-you.
Dominic.
Dominic,
Do you queers find anything more important than how others view your queerdom?
Dominic, great news! The loss of your job might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Sounds like you got a much better one with nicer people.
Kyranjaxipun,
Yep, we queers sure do find many things more important - just as you straights do when contemplating your lives.
Dominic.
Susanp,
Dominic.
Kyranjaxipun,
I meant to add the Ogden Nash quote, of course:
"Candy
is dandy,
but liquor
is quicker"
Dominic.
Dominic; I don't want to compromise your case. But I’d like to know if it the person having a problem with this website was employed by the taxpayers of Great Britain.
Haha ok Dom,
Cuz for a moment there the focus of your attention seemed to be on some whacky fundie. Most people are immune to at least one type of motormouth by the time they reach typing age.
Hahaha liquor's not gonna cure my ailments tonight dude, but thanks anyway.
Take it easy. Good night.
It's been five years now.
Relinquish the emotion which rests upon a mistaken belief, and seek to feel fully that emotion which fits the facts." ---
limes,
Actually, no.
Dominic.
Kyranjaxipun,
G'night. Sleep well and may God Bless you and yours.
Dominic.
You're playing ball in the Western system of justice. Its decadent, but well suited for your situation. Keep us posted.
limes,
Will do. In the meantime I'm enjoying my week off but even so I must to bed for a few hours. God Bless and may angels watch over you when you sleep tonight.
Dominic.
Peace be with you. . .

Here is a personal account from a New Yorker.
At least there is some sanity in the world somewhere.

Your friend said
I'm all for a big group hug, but it seems to be a Muslim-killing-non-Muslim thing, at least to this news watcher.
May the Force be with you...

This is the kind of commitment needed, if modern civilization has any chance to survive. I read your posts in admiration, Infidel Pride!
Anne Appebaum, historian and the author of the excellent book about Soviet Gulag, says the Europeans should stop blaming Americans for terror.

Dominic: Glad to hear you got a new job so quickly. Interesting perspective you have with the gays against Jihad thing.
there's an interesting article in the London times that won't make our American friends smile.
Nato rejects appeal to boost Afghan troops
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2353444_1,00.html
Here you go. I just received this from a friend in the UK.
On the road to the USE...(United States of Europe)
Don't wanna join? No problem, you no longer exist.
http://www.conservatives.com/tile.do?def=news.story.page&obj_id=131797
well Goobs, you've managed to come across as the most naive poster I've ever read on JW.
"5 years after 9/11, many angry at U.S."
It looks to me like the hate and anger was the same, perhaps even greater before 9-11.
-protectalbion,
Phrases like "...a typically uninformed yank..." don't help you make a counter point, especially to charges that Europeans are arrogant America bashers.
"You guys don't get and never will."
Then leave and take your enlightened ideas to a place where they'll be appreciated.

Why I chose to leave the UK

That's so typical. Won't save folks like you from being eventual victims of Jihad by American Muslims. Truth hurts, some of us know that and with what you wrote are vindicated.

'In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan.'
R u for real? over 25 million muslims in U.S.??
Thats nearly 10% of the population!!!!
Islaminfestation must end NOW!!
There is a saying that the fruit falls not far from the tree in which it comes from.

That woman you cited from the Dawn is an idiot. If you read that article, which went
Brilliant observation, Holmes!
