Pope Rage continues to heat up. From Ynet News, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
The recent remarks made by Pope Benedict XVI on Islam are threatening to ignite the entire Muslim world. Op-Eds published in the Arab newspapers slammed the pope even after the Vatican’s apology. The most extreme opinion was voiced by Hani Pahas in the London-based Arabic-language daily newspaper Al-Hayat, who wrote “the pope’s comments may lead to war; we fear that the pope’s statements may lead to a war that we, Muslims and Christians alike, are trying to prevent through dialogue between East and West.Hussein Shabakshy wrote in an article published by the London-based Arabic-language newspaper al-Sharq al-Awsat “It is clear that such remarks only contribute to the fueling of the fire raging between Islam and the West. There is no difference between Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri speaking from their caves in Tora Bora and the stage of an important Christian saint. Both parties contribute to the world verbal weapons for mass destruction.”
Is that so? Which towers did the Pope bring down, and whom did he behead?
“The pope’s latest statement cannot be considered a slip of the tongue or a comic bit from a TV show; the situation here is different, and his remarks are indicative of an important and highly symbolic stance toward the religion (Islam) and the prophet of about a billion and-a-half Muslims,” he said.“These are ignorant comments previously made by Adolf Hitler, who spoke of a supreme white race against all the other races, especially the African race.
Of course, the Pope didn't speak of races, or the superiority of anyone, and Islam is not a race.
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said a Vatican statement on Saturday saying Pope Benedict was sorry for upsetting Muslims with his comments on Islam did not go far enough."We want a personal apology (from the Pope). We feel that he has committed a grave error against us and that this mistake will only be removed through a personal apology," Muslim Brotherhood Deputy Leader Mohammed Habib told Reuters.
The Grand Imam of the Al – Azhar University in Cairo, Sheikh Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi said the pope’s statements stem from complete ignorance regarding all that is related to Islam.
Other religious leaders throughout the Muslim world, including Iran, also slammed the pope.
The spiritual leader of Lebanon's Sunnis, the Grand Mufti Sheik Mohammed Rashid Kabbani, said the pope's remarks emanated either from "Ignorance and lack of knowledge or were deliberately intended to distort Islam.""Reason is the substance of Islam and its teachings ... Islam prohibited violence in human life. Anyone who wants the truth (about Islam) must take it from Islam's holy book, the Koran, rather than from a dialogue or excerpts," he said.
Why don't all these Islamic clerics who are assuring us yet again that Islam has nothing to do with violence do something to rein in the Muslims who are committing acts of violence out of rage against the Pope?
Muslim projection again!
"Of course, the Pope didn't speak of races, or the superiority of anyone, and Islam is not a race."
This crap is such a hustle. This hustle is attempted often. For example, it is absolutely absurd to hear Arab-Muslims (overwhelmingly Semitic-Caucasian) talk of "Zionist racism" as Arabs either encourage or actively exterminate black Africans in the Sudan. The same charges re race are also absurd when it comes from the Aryan region(Iran) and the dwarf. These people must laugh up their sleeves when ANSWER types or others buy this nonsense.
It's part of the whole deception game. It's contemptible.
“These are ignorant comments previously made by Adolf Hitler, who spoke of a supreme white race against all the other races, especially the African race."
After all the Black people the Sudanese government are murdering just because they think Black people should be slaves and they don't accept them as Muslims.
It's a big hustle. For example, put a yamaca on Nasrallas head or a turbin or head-scarf on Ehud Olmert's head and the game becomes apparent. (We must admit that Arafat with a yamaca would be bad fashion because a head-scarf fit him better.) Racism, me arse...

THEY have already declared war on the west....how many times can the fruits declare war on the civilized world.....my head is going to explode,i must wrap it in duct tape now.
God bless the Pope for telling the truth about Islam. If he must create the impression of apologizing, so be it. But the truth must be told.
There is much new and good in Islam. But what is new is not good, and what is good is not new.
I remember a discussion about the use of the "n" word back in the early 1990s. Dick Gregory thought the word should be used repeatedly and in a casual way, to "moderate" it if you will, such that it would lose it's sting. Arsenio Hall vehemently disagreed, saying "why do we need that word? What good is it?" Honest people are asking the same thing of Islam.
If a person created a computer program that would destroy data on a small percentage of computers, and the program sought to spread itself, we would agree that such a program should be banned. A virus is "malicious logic," and we have no problem arresting people who make them. Why do we treat religion differently?
Although truth be told, if a similar religion were created in the US, it would be banned and destroyed. Look at the persecution of fundamentalist Mormons, and the mass murder of children at Waco. Is there any doubt that if Islam had only 1000 followers that it would be universally condemned as evil and malicious?
And so we must stand by and allow this religion to increase in numbers, and allow the publishing of religious texts that call for the violent overthrow of the US government. We treat this religion as we would treat no other religion or ideology. We claim that acts committed in the name of Islam, and clearly justified by the Islamic texts, are the acts of individuals only. Why did we not justify or ignore the acts of the Nazis? Surely Naziism could be reformed. And the SS was only a very small percentage of the Nazis, anyway.
"Better red than dead" now refers to a crescent moon rather than a hammer and sicle. Peace in our time.
Lord have mercy.
This is ridiculous: the islamic response is to invoke Hitler?
I commend the understanding by islamic leaders of what buttons to push, but they have no conception of when or why to push them. Possibly since the Hitlerian perspective is really not so dissolute from islam anyway.
Prophet Geoff
...the pope’s comments may lead to war... -Hani Pahas
The victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory. -Sun Tzu
Spent the last couple of days driving through Quebec, Ontario, and the Upper Midwest (tanked up in Dearborn).
This wound needs to have salt dumped on it. The sooner the battle lines are defined, the better.
So basically the Islamists are using this as a pretext to attack us. It doesn't matter that the Pope said this or that. If it wasn't the Pope it would have been something else, just like how they waited to react to the cartoon debacle until months after they were first released.
If they want a war we have only one choice, and that's to take a two by four and slam them up against the head, over and over again until they cease and desist or until they are dead. The alternative is enslavement or death for us. If anyone is going to die I'd rather it was them. How many Christians in Somalia or nuns in Italy are we going to let them pick off before we rise up and fight these bastards?
Isabellathecrusader-
You are absolutely right. What is really frightening is how Islam causes people to deny reality and twist reality. The bad judgement that is a consequence of this (they were surprised by the Israeli response to their aggression recently, e.g.) is going to get worse in the future. They are having problems facing the fact that the rest of the world sees the connection between violence against unbelievers and the Islamic belief system and people are amazed as they attempt to divert the issue to some imaginary fantasy of their victim-hood. (They are projecting.) The whole belief-system is sick from violence and the denial of reality.
However, as Robert pointed out recently, the cognisant dissonance is becoming very apparent to the public. The belief-system is looking more and more like a mental illness to the public.
the pope’s comments may lead to war...
All I can say is good, let's get this done.
Frank,
Cognisant dissonance may be becoming very apparent to the public, but what is not becoming apparent is the real danger we face in western countries where Islamists are starting to make headway in getting into government positions and changing our laws. We have to stop them now, because once these folks are entrenched in our system it will be much more difficult to dislodge them. We think we are being "mean" if we seek to remove these people from our countries and send them back to where they came from. But as students of Islamic strategies and consequences here at JihadWatch University understand, the Islamists who live among us may very well be practicing taqiya and are waiting until they have a enough of a force to go against us in our own countries, that is, if they follow their belief system. And we have no reason to doubt that they do. Look at the two guys who ran their vehicles into people in San Francisco and North Carolina. Both of them came to this country as toddlers and grew up as Americans. Both cited Koranic beliefs to support their actions. And both, true to form, hurt and killed Americans because they believed Allah told them to do so based on their reading of the Koran.
How many more ticking time bombs are there living in our midst, how long will we wait and how many of our people have to be eliminated by them before we stand up and say enough is enough?
"There is no difference between Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri speaking from their caves in Tora Bora and the stage of an important Christian saint. "
so he's admitting Osama is considered a very high authority in the muslim world.
Thanks for admitting who are the real masters of muslim world
"The pope’s latest statement cannot be considered a slip of the tongue or a comic bit from a TV show..."
The world saw how enraged adherents to the "religion of peace" became over a handful of cartoons. Now these same adherents to the "religion of peace" are warning us infidels that they are going to really become enraged - "the pope’s comments may lead to war" - because of a carefully worded statement of fact.
Personally, I hope the violence perpetrated by these adherents to the "religion of peace" exceeds the violence the world saw over the cartoons. (At the same time, I am sorry for the innocents that will be on receiving end of this violence.) Maybe this time their violence will awaken the dhimmi masses to the awful state of affairs that confronts them.
At the same time, we must not underestimate the threat this "religon of peace" presents. We are not simply dealing with relatively small population of radicals that have spent too much time in the hot sun. We are dealing with a religion created by Satan to further Satan's goals - to lead the children of God captive, to stir up anger against that which is good, and to make all of God's children miserable like the Devil himself is miserable. We must understand that there is no compromising with Satan. There is no peace or harmony that can be achieved when the Satan is involved.
As with the quote from the late Christian emporer that so enraged the Muslim world we can find other quotes that are no less provocative.
Change a few words here and there and this would make a fine modern day speech in regards to the world scene concerning Islam.
"Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilisation. Upon it depends our own British life and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us now. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age, made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour."
Winsont Churchill. 1940.
LOL. May lead to war?
Don't do us any favors. You might wake the West up.
Who the hell made this Hussein guy the editor? Oh.. I know who, Mr. Laden from the Cave. A Complete idiot...how do you compare Pope's speech with the ramblings of that cave man!!
And the world is going to allow these people to get nukes ?
General Grievious
Lets get practical: Very soon we will need quite a few bonehard realists who are ready for sniper training...
Gonna be the most exacting position when instead of sending armies onto the streets, we will just begin to take out their heads.. can even be well planned via www, and if one or the other mistake occurs we´ll have to remember that bad shit happens in war..
By God that is holy in Heaven, you vile and evil followers of the pedophile moham get it started so we can bring peace back to the world.
Isabellathecrusader-
Read your comment. I like that "JihadWatch University". It is like school. There are some sharp minds that post. However, I would hate to see what grades Robert and Hugh give my posts. Probably "U" for "You can forget it"..LOL
Mohammed announced it almost 1400 years ago. Let's get this party started and do it in a way that would make the Crusaders proud.
Mohammed announced it almost 1400 years ago. Let's get this party started and do it in a way that would make the Crusaders proud. But I think this is just sabre rattling to force the dhimmis into submission and show the Pope and the rest of the world who's boss....
The real truth is the following: it doesn't matter what the pope does or does not say. The islamofaschistic world is waiting for every opportunity to rant and scream and rave. I find it really quite primitive and it would be funny were it not so incredibly tragic.
Here's the cycle: If it's not the 12 cartoons (oh, earthquake, oh earthquake), then it is Israel. If it is not Israel, then it is always the USA, and if not the USA, then the pope. Who is next? The dalai lama?
Funny, when muslims offend jews and christians (which is practically every day), I don't see their mosques burning. I don't see jews and christians beheading moslems or blowing themselves up in muslim cafes.
The difference here is between the civilized and the uncivilized.
So, who gives a rat's /&%/$ what the islamofaschists think? They are going to scream bloody murder, no matter what...
"a billion-and-a-half Muslims...."
-- from the article above
One billion two years ago. 1.5 billion today. Even, if the propagandist writing copy to be signed "Moazzam Begg" is to be believed, "1.6 billion." Watch that figure rise. Pulled out of the air. All part of that triumphalism, that "We Are On the March," the same kind of determinism of Marxists with their "inevitable" Wave of the Future or Nazis with that heute Deutchland, morgen die Ganze Welt stuff.
1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 -- do I hear 2 billlion --
2 billion Muslims, right there in the back, the man with the beard from Waziristan.
Do I hear 2.1 billion? 2.1, 2.1, 2.1...
Yes, I'm sure we will be hearing 2.1 billion within a year or two.
Watch for it.
World's Fastest Growing Religion. Simply Unstoppable. Nothing to be done. Of universal appeal because of its sheer wonderfulness. Give up now, Infidels. Don't even try to resist.
The West, not only Christendom, is like a huge ship at sea. If W is the Captain, Rice the Steerman, and Cheney, Bolton, Rumsfeld the upper officers, they recognize that turning a huge vessel, especially in rough weather, is a difficult task.
But when the rowers will not pull together, when indeed they row against or simply refuse to pull, what, if not murder and mayhem, can get the rowers back to their benches and pulling together?
Any spark ignites the Muslim conflagration. Appeasement sometimes tamps the flames down to red-hot coals. No more. Let the blaze begin and turn this vessel squarely into the storm.
Death to those that would kill us.
The Muslim tactic of hypersensitivity to any criticism reminds me of the Liberal Left. The closer the criticism is to the truth the higher the fever pitch to denounce the original charge.
I am sure this is not new to our time. This must be a time tested method for scoundrels and worse.
The main difference is the Muslim throng responds with killing and destruction.
The Dems don't do that, yet.
Did you see the eyes of those "demonstrators"? Yeah, we can sit down and discuss our concerns with those fine gentlemen. When my cat gets worked up, I see those same eyes. He does not respond to conversation when his eyes tell me it is fight or flight.
How many times do they have to tell us that they have declared war on us before we listen? They want to kill the Pope and now the Pope is at fault?
Your comments ring true Alara...time for this nation to stop worring about how skinny the models are and face the true enemy of democracy.
"THEY have already declared war on the west....how many times can the fruits declare war on the civilized world.....my head is going to explode,i must wrap it in duct tape now."
These same Muslims, after declairing war against the west on 9/11 still accuse good men like B16 of want a war.
"The spiritual leader of Lebanon's Sunnis, the Grand Mufti Sheik Mohammed Rashid Kabbani, said the pope's remarks emanated either from "Ignorance and lack of knowledge or were deliberately intended to distort Islam."
"Reason is the substance of Islam and its teachings ... Islam prohibited violence in human life. Anyone who wants the truth (about Islam) must take it from Islam's holy book, the Koran, rather than from a dialogue or excerpts," he said. "
Well Grand Mufti Kabbani, this is why non-Muslims have the wonderful tool known as the internet, which does a pretty good job revealing what the Koran is. Also please spare me the "Islam is against violence stuff" when your own members commit jihad violence against non-Muslims. Pope B16 was simply citing a historic document.
Hugh,
I would put no confidence in any reports from any of the so-called Muslim experts about a growing Muslim population. The dirty little secret in the Muslim community is that more Muslims are leaving Islam and many are becoming Christians or simply are not believing anything. The real growing faith, Christianity is going through a boom period in the global south. Even Robert's friend Daniel Pipes wrote about it 4 years ago in his website about a "Christian boom". Hang in there and do not let the numbers scare you.
The numbers for how many Christians is well over 2 billion.
Well, as far as the 2 billion Muslims go, remember that in business we are taught to fake it 'til we make it and to assume the sale.
Their wishful thinking is hard to decipher because they are constantly screaming, bitching and demanding, which is disorienting, and everytime they kill someone, which appears to be a daily occurence, it throws us off a little bit, and they know this.
I know of no other religion in modern times that are committing acts of violence except Islam; not Catholics, Protestants, or any other religions. If pissing them off makes Islam change their actions, keep it up!
The Muslim tactic of hypersensitivity to any criticism reminds me of the Conservative Right. The closer the criticism is to the truth the higher the fever pitch to denounce the original charge.
I am sure this is not new to our time. This must be a time tested method for scoundrels and worse.
The main difference is the Muslim throng responds with killing and destruction.
The Repugnicans don't do that, yet.
Nariz,
You help to demonstrate my point.
Sincerely,
Alara
Actually, like Mohammad, Hitler was opposed to the Jews more than anyone else. Hitler actually made positive comments about Islam or Mohammad, and made negative comments about Christianity, including Catholicism.
Hitler was in the process of destroying Christianity in its existing forms and replacing it with his "German faith." [1]
"Had we been converted to Mohammedanism, that cult which glorifies the heroism and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone, then the Germanic races would have conquered the world." --Adolf Hitler
"The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity." -- Albert Speer
