The Jihad Against the West?

Buddhists in Thailand, Hindus in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, Christians in Philippines, Hindus and Christians in Indonesia, Hindus and Chinese in Malaysia, black Africans in the Sudan, in Nigeria, in all the sub-Saharan countries subject to relentless campaigns of islamization?

Against the West -- and All the Rest.

Perhaps your buddy Adam Gadahn will be there passing out invitations to turn your swords against the enemies of Islam. Lovely little invitations with the vellum and the ribbons.

Has anyone had an opportunity to watch and listen to Minister John Hagee on the Trinity Broadcast network this past week?

The popular San Antonio Minister has come down 4 square on the violent Jihadist teachings of Islam against non Muslims lately in his sermons on TBN.

What I note interestingly is that TBN has already in the past several months let two commentators go from the network who where saying the same things that the Reverand Hagee is saying with even more zeal in his Church sermons to his congregation.

The question is; will the TBN administrators act against him as well as they did with the former commentators who where saying the exact same things on TBN?

It appears foolhardy to have this conference without requiring the participants debate whether all muslims should be allowed in or turned back from the West.

We are faced with the Israeli conundrum: if they lose once to the arabs, no matter how many the former victories, they are lost; if we allow muslims into the West by choice, and we are wrong about this hateful ideology, we are finished.

The so called 'good or 'moderate' muslims, can be just the Greeks baring gifts (like Ibrahim Hooper).

Robert,

My coworker and I are looking forward to attending the conference and possible meeting you. While we all can't run our own website or get appearances on radio and t.v., i hope during the panels discussion that there might be some discussion about concrete steps that we, the common man, can take to enlighten others and broaden the campaign against the extremists.

Will Hugh be there? I suspect he lives in the Boston metro area as well.

No1 Infidel:

Actually I do not live in the Boston metro area. I speak all around the country.

Nor does Hugh live in the Boston metro area, and no, he will not be at this conference.

Don't forget the Confucians in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of Red China suffering at the hands of all the energetic Moslems festering there.

I wish I could attend. I am sure it would be extremely valuable time spent. Keep up the good work.

Robert, congratulations on chosing to speak at this very important conference.

I am wondering: would you suggest that USA place an unspoken/unwritten ban on immigration of Muslims to USA at this conference ? The NYT newsitem More Muslims Arrive in US, after 9/11 Dip is clearly an indication that our nation has not learnt that 9/11 was not a war on terror but a war on Islam. I am quite upset that our politicians have chosen to remain politically correct.

My fear is that if USA does allow indiscriminate and mass immigration of Muslims to USA, very soon - by following the law of demographics - we shall see another "Londonistan" in USA like now in UK.

I would request you to raise this agenda (Muslim immigration to USA) at this conference, if possible.

- cheers,

Mohammed bin Kafir Abu Jahal

Robert,

I didn't mean to insinuate that you lived in the Boston area, just Hugh.

Look forward to the confernce

Well, I am happy to speak for all the obvious reasons. No one invites me. For reasons I do not comprehend. I'd invite me, if I were a group and wanted to learn all about Islam and lots of other stuff.

No1 Infidel:

While I am sure that in an Irish-intensive area such as metro Boston there must be many, many Hugh Fitzgeralds in the phone book, I can assure you that not a single one of them is the Hugh Fitzgerald who writes for Jihad Watch.

Our Hugh is getting up in years (he is 98, as I suspect you are aware), and after several decades of world traveling has settled in a climate where the cold does not seep into one's bones during the winter. I can assure you categorically that he lives north of Ushuaia and south of Iqaluit.

Too bad Hugh, would've been nice to meet you and invite you out for a couple pints of Tetley's.

98 years old? I never guessed. Maybe you would like to meet my grandmother, she just turned 96 last week.

Maybe they are worried your oratory stamina exceeds that of your pen.

Robert,

I believe I read somewhere recently(possibly even this website) that the letter from the president of Iran to George Bush named several prominent experts on Islam including yourself. Is that true?
If so, has anyone from the administration ever contacted you or any of the others for your expert insight? It would seem that they must take notice if the Thug in Chief makes reference to you guys that you must know something important, especially if it makes him single you out specifically.

No1 Infidel:

It wasn't the Thug-In-Chief, it was Adam Gadahn of Al-Qaeda.

And no, the Administration has never contacted me. I ain't holding my breath, either.

Robert,

You really shouldn't tell people where you aren't. It's extremely bad form given a need for secrecy. I strongly advise never doing this again.

Since I’m already posting, I do want to express certain reservations about Objectivists. While the Objectivist faith is extremely good at creating a small number of zealots, I know of no other faith that so thoroughly rankles everyone else—even someone like myself who agrees with some of its more extreme conclusions (about charity, for instance). I'm sure that the Objectivists are excellent in diagnosing the current problem correctly, but I wouldn’t make out to do list with them about any action that requires mobilizing the public.

Well, Pediomelum, I am not in a lot of places. I am not in Vladivostok or Vienna, Brazzaville or Boise, so I don't see much harm done, but anyway, as Joycelyn Elders said, "Everybody's probably gonna die from something."

Cordially,
Robert Spencer

Good to see you can maintain a sense of humor through all of this, Robert.

Is Hugh REALLY 98???

Vee,

Not only is Hugh 98, but he dresses like George Steinbrenner.

Cordially,
Robert Spencer

You have no idea how pleased I am that you and Pipes et al will be speaking at an Objectivist Conference, I just hope that the word gets out to Libertarians.

Pediomelum, I full well know that people of faith, cannot help but characterize others as having faith, for in their world everyone must have faith, it is called projection, kind of like a person with a defect which is not obvious, he feels "different" if others don't share that defect, thus he projects unto others his defect.

Objectivists are not a faith..an ideology yes, but not a faith, nor do they qualify as a faith by any rational definition of the word.. alas people of faith are not rational.. if they were they wouldn't be people of faith.

Are Muslims rational? Is the muslim faith rational?
Why should the muslims and their faith be any different than any other?

Our Hugh is getting up in years (he is 98, as I suspect you are aware),
posted by Jihadwatch

Hugh isn't 98, I think Hugh is about 58, give or take a few years. Not that it matters, but we'll probably never know the real identity (or gender) of Hugh Fitzgerald of Jihadwatch.

In the seventies I once went to see Moshe Dayan speak in Cleveland. The armed Israeli force spread throughout the college auditorium that day was extremely intimidating. I was pretty certain Cleveland could have withstood an attack by Mars or at least the USSR, and there was little doubt in my mind that the general was safe.

I often reflect on that experience when I think about Robert doing public speaking. I'm pretty certain the IDF does not protect him when he attends one of these conferences, but I hope the security IS adequate. It is a dangerous thing Robert does daily, and I for one hold him in the highest esteem. I know from personal experience what a chance any of us takes if we confront and engage Islamist ideology.

I pray you are safe, Robert. Please take care and take no chances.

We indeed will all die from something, but I'm hoping you get what's killing Hugh: advanced age.

Regards,

HAID

Susan,

I'm surprised at you. Here you know Hugh personally and you haven't bothered to introduce me to him.

Hugh,
I went to Google Images and searched on "hugh fitzgerald". The most popular images sharing your namesake are:

1) a middle aged real estate agent in Louisiana
2) a POW from WWII (381st bomber division)
3) a male model named Hugh Fitzgerald

Which one is you?

And is it true you've never been seen in the same place and at the same time as Robert?

'Are Muslims rational? Is the muslim faith rational?
Why should the muslims and their faith be any different than any other?'~ nariz

... nice sleight against Christians and every other faith, nose. Did you really think no one would notice? Or, perhaps, believe that they could not 'reason' it out due to their faith?

Hugh once posted about being a young boy eating an ice cream cone in the 1950s. He has also made reference to children's books from that era. Susanp is correct.

Xero G:

Hugh is a male model, but I'm not sure he is the one you have located.

Susanp and CGW:

In the 1950s, Hugh was a man in his 40s with a young boy's heart, and a penchant for ice cream cones, children's books, and velour turtlenecks.

Thanks, Nariz. I was going to comment on the idea of Objectivism being a "faith", but you've done it instead.

I cannot understand those of faith who attack you simply for identifying the difference between "faith" and "reason". Religious tenets (including Christian) are believed based on faith; if that's a slight, so be it. Most people recognize that those two terms connote different ways of "knowing".

What I do know is that there are many people of faith on this board who are doing a damn good job using their reasoning capacities in analyzing Islam. Good enough for me.

And anyway, I think there's no danger Robert will become a Randroid at the conference.

Hugh:

Everyone is always pestering you to write a book.

Write one, and I bet you'll start getting invitations.

CGW

have you thought of doing these conferences in europe?
we could do with some serious enlightening over here.
mind you i think the pope may have opened a few eyes today :)
