STOCKHOLM, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Danish police have arrested nine people suspected of planning a terror attack, reports reaching here from Denmark said Tuesday.
The nine, who had got materials to make explosives in connection with the preparation for a terror attack, were arrested during a police raid overnight in heavily immigrant-populated neighborhood of Vollsmose, a suburb west of Odense in central Denmark, the reports said, citing the country's intelligence service.
The suspects, whose identities were not disclosed, were all aged under 30 and would face a custody hearing later Tuesday, said Lars Findsen, head of the Danish Security Intelligence Service.
Findsen gave no details on the target of the attack, saying that the arrests would not prompt Denmark to raise its terror alert.
Denmark has raised its terror preparedness after the London terror attacks last year and disputes earlier this year over cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad which was first published in a Danish newspaper.
It will be interesting to see how quickly the terrorist are released;

In all fairness, the Danish MSM - including national TV - did not even try to conceal the ethnicity of the arrested persons. They openly call them "MUSLIMS". Not "radicals", "youths", "fanatics" or some such. Muslims.

The "outside influences" you have mentioned were allowed into European soil by way of the government policies in place on the continent. Islam, as you may now realize, is a GLOBAL NETWORK OF TERRORISM AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, so of course anywhere it ends up it is going to bring in its (lethal) influences from elsewhere, as it has both a global reach and worldwide political body (the ummah). What is happening to Europe regarding Islamic jihadism now is beginning to happen in every other corner of the world including the Americas.
Europeans have clearly failed to learn the lessons taught by world history (especially that of Islamic history). And they will pay the price as the lethal cancer of Islam metastasizes on their homeland. The whole world is going to suffer for it in fact.
I have just been reading the Danish internet papers and it seems that the police didn't go about it with a gentle touch one family complained that they were woken up by 15 armed police kicking down the door handcuffing them and making them lie on the floor, the police wouldn't even tell them what it was all about. Then there is the usual stuff from the Muslim community asking the muslims not to cause trouble and the implied threat that he hopes that the police have got good grounds for the arrests otherwise it might generate racial hatred, and we advise the police to be very careful as we have seen in London what happens when the police arrest people without proper evidence. I don't think that the Danes are particularly impressed.

By the way, there is PLENTY of anti-Americanism all over Europe in addition to what has been going on in France. If you didn't know, many western European countries are borderline enemies of America. But this is NOT news. The War of 1812 culminated in the British burning Washington,DC to the ground. Personally, my tears for the fate awaiting western Europe at the hands of Islam are tempered by its historical bigotry against our nation, culture, and people.

What is funny is that nationalism and patriotism seem to be dead as movements in Europe. That was why the Euro union was possible. One nation, one currency, one passport, - no patriotism, no identity, no culture, no pride. That is how the left wants it. I just watched a Simpson's episode where the whole episode was about the "stupidity" of patriotism. And this, a mere 5 years later, on the anniversary of 9/11 when every American had a flag on his car. Oh, how I knew that was not going to last. It was all emotion of the moment, and little of it was actual heart-felt sentiment. The rubble is cleared away, the emotion subsides, and the calculated cynicism of the left takes over again.
That diabolical dynamic killed Europe and led to Islam taking over. We must not allow that to happen here.

They didn't exactly succeed in burning Washington, although they tried. They burned the Capitol, the Treasury, and the White House but a rain storm saved the city.
The Europeans definitely do not like America or Americans. It is possible to forge friendships with Europeans on an individual, personal level, but we are generally despised in Europe by Europeans who have never set foot in America and wouldn't recognize it if they did.
The garbage that they are fed by their news media and the revised history they learn in school are two of the main reasons, and envy is also a factor. I lived in Germany three different times as a child and a teenager. They used to throw rocks at us because we wore shorts in the summer. We paid them back by stealing the stars (hood ornaments)off of their Mercedes. Back then, men wore leiderhosen, women didn't wear shorts. That was a long time ago and I have no idea what it's like now. One thing they didn't mind a bit was selling beer, schnapps, yaegermeister---anything to American minors. I like the Germans; they're very neat and tidy and they have wonderful beer. They were probably so accomodating in hopes that we would get smashed and then stagger out in front of a trolley.
In the tourist areas of Europe, Americans are tolerated for the money they spend but not with any great enthusiasm. I won't be going back any time soon. I'm tired of aruging with ignorant jackasses who think they know more about my country than I do.

Does anybody read these posts it seems not, the Danes are calling them what they are MUSLIMS, I am getting fed up by Americans on this blogg firing off a salvos of crude generalisations at Europe without thinking, or reading the posts, we are not all Dimmis. Kepiblanc is to my knowledge a Dane and knows what he is talking about, along with several other posters here. I myself am English but having lived and worked in Denmark and read and speak the language fluently. On first reading this thread, I then went and read the online Danish newspapers, and posted a resume of what I had read in English. If people scroll back up you can read it, if you have time. It seems that a lot of people come here, read the article, scroll to the bottom of the page and fire off a diatribe. Most of us who come here from Europe, are concerned about what is happening, and it doesn't help by having to read lots and lots of crude generalisations concerning Europe. The falling birth rate and lack of religiosity and I suppose we will have to come and help you out and get you back on you feet again like we had to do in the last two wars, are good examples. There seems to be an assumption here that if Europe could get its birth rate up we would be able to out breed the Muslims and all would be well. Japan has a falling birth rate but does not have the problems that we have. The problems is quiet simply, Muslims trying to force a way of life that is unworkable in a 21st century society, and not the falling birth rate that is only making the situation worse. These people by the way, like the Americans do not lack for religiosity the problem they have TOOOOO much of it. So please read the posts and lets have some reasoned arguments. We either hang together or hang alone.

I am a North Indian Hindu girl living and working in Spain (for an American multinational). I previously lived in the US for about four years (University of Georgia), and my family spent many years based in the Gulf countries of the Middle East (Oman and UAE).
I went to study to the US because I have family there. What my impression was that the US is religiously fanatic in its own right. To me personally, religion is a method used to control the masses. True that most religions teach beautiful things and if followed in a general manner help us to be better humans (Islam excluded, of course). However, one cannot blindly follow a religion or they start to lose common sense. I dont mean to offend the religious sensibilities of anyone, but the Americans come up with some amazing names for their churches.
Another thing that amazes a visitor to the US is that Americans consume like no other nation. The amount of food that was wasted at our university's dining halls on a daily basis, was probably enough to feed an entire city in Africa. Most Americans follow the principle of "bigger is better" whatever it may be. You see few people trying to take a bicyle anywhere. Its rare to see people care for others and in general there is an extremely individualistic attitude of me, myself and I.
From the infrastructure point of view, driving is necessary as cities are badly designed, (leaving out NY, Boston and Chicago). Sorry public transportation makes it impossible to take a bicyle anywhere for example, as cities are far flung and follow a horizontally extensive growth pattern.
In general, I met very few Americans who knew anything about the "outside world" (dont get me wrong; I did meet some who knew where New Delhi was, and knew that Madrid was not in South America). But in general it wasnt enough for me, for my "sense of fulfilment and wellbeing" as an international student and for me to feel "at home." However, most of my international student friends have stayed back in the US, so I guess they have felt fulfilled deep down inside, something I didnt feel while I lived there.
Currently living in Spain, I feel like I have found my own little spot in the world. Here I have met more people than I have ever met while living in another country who know, have travelled in and learned more about my country than myself possibly! Also, coming from a family oriented culture to another family oriented culture probably has something to do with my liking for this place. I consider myself warm at heart, and here I meet people with similar aptitudes.
However, my time in the US was not dull at all. After all I had an arrest by university "campus police" for "underage drinking," somemthing that could only happen there! Was amazing that a 19 year old being drunk is treated as a huge crime. I had a court date, I was fined, sent for community service and to drug and alcohol awareness classes. That was absolutely ridiculous!!!
I apologise in advance if this post has hurt the sentiments of anyone, I dont intend that in the least. I had a great time going to university in the US, enjoyed the football matches, met people from all over the world, learned Spanish, danced salsa, got arrested for being drunk (!!!), also had a drugged out ex-marine uni-student barge into my neighbours' flat and try to kill them with a knife... many interesting incidents!!!
I have left some of my closest friends in the US and I wouldn't change my university experiences for anything, honest!!!
Coming from a country that has suffered for over a millenium under the tyranny of Islam, I throughly reject it and stand behind the US fight against islamo-fascism and certainly belive that Europe needs to wake up to the reality that is already gripping it. Surprisingly most people dont see it how we see it, and its going to be interesting to see how far they go with their patience.

Good posts. Being an American, it is my view that most who I talk to are totally in dark regarding the Muslim threat. You bring up points on how Islamism is creeping into their society and threatening their culture and they look at you like you have two heads on or are too busy too worry about it. The ROP mentality and the dhimmi press is in full swing. We have a local Muslim school, supported by Saudi dollars, that have campaigns at Christian churches and show a propaganda film on Mo's life entitled: "Wouldn't you want to know this man?" and then have an "education" session after telling how Bin Laden and his ilk are just a few extremist and have nothing to do with "true Islam". The dozen or so elderly Christians are nodding their heads like Johnny Carson saying "I didn't know that." To get anything in the local press to counter the propagnda comes up nil. In fact the paper has hired a young Muslim recently who every week or so contributes an editorial condemning America's foreign policy and the ignorant Islamophobia has caused Muslim violence.
Welcome to America and this from an area that is suppose to have the most intellectual population in the U.S. Today Harvard is welcoming the former swill bucket of Iran to talk on Capmus to, of course,further codemn America. most of the the Europeans that post here know that, and you don't have to defend you r country, if ever a country had its heart in the right place it is yours. I have worked all over the world and have met many Americans and have worked with quite a few during my travels, two especially are dear friends and we regularly keep in touch. I am certainly not angry, but to use an english expression, I do get a bit miffed at times with some of these generalisations

you certainly do not have to apologise to me, I understand perfectly your frustrations, I have exactly the same feeling when I see useful idiots pandering to these type of people. I have always had great respect for your views and enjoy them immensely. My point was that the Danes had not taken Muslim sensitivities into account and had acted as all good police forces should do. This had been pointed out by both Kepiblac and myself. The Danes are certainly the least Dimmified of the Europeans at the moment. To make my point which will I am certain be appreciated by yourself I will post here a short story I pull off a Danish Blogg in May and translated . Islam criticism in the Danish Church

60 priests and theologian have joined together in an islam critical network in the Danish Folkekirken
( the aim is to prove, that Christian and Muslims do not believe in the same God, and that the Church and Mosque are incompatible) was reported in a press release from the new network. Together in the network are prominent priest and debaters such as Niels Højlund, Sørine Godtfredsen,
Edith Thingstrup, Morten Kvist and Katrine Winkel Holm (no unity without treason) The new network says it is problematical when Danish priests invite Imams into the Church ( The Church cannot speak for ever with Imans without betraying the Church's Lord) they emphasise that the criticism is against Islam and not individual muslims.
As you see even the Danish Church is finally showing some backbone, and then to have the thread turn into what I saw as a winge, got the better of my stiff upper lip. Enough said keep posting and deep regards

I know from personal experience how many peope - especiallly in European countries but also here in the USA - are afraid to speak out about how they feel about this Mufti threat of islam. SHE WAS 99 yo till she had a stroke and her minbd worked a LOT better than that of those horseheads we allow to rule us in Europe and here in the USA. did ANYONE notice that Nightline on ABC did a fluff feature pice on Hillary Rotten tonight..? When they SHOULD have picked up on the GWB speech re. terrorists in CIA jails and how we got information out of them?
