"If the pope comes here we will hang him on the Cross"

Words of peace and tolerance from a Muslim cleric in Pakistan on the Day of Rage.

Why crucified? Because it's in the Qur'an, of course -- immediately following the oft-quoted verse about how killing an innocent person is like killing the whole world. That's Qur'an 5:32. 5:33 says: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter."

"Pakistanis protest, cleric says Pope should be crucified," from AFP, with thanks to all who sent this in:

ISLAMABAD (AFP) - Hundreds of Pakistani Islamists held street protests to condemn Pope Benedict XVI for remarks they regard as anti-Islamic, with one leader saying the pontiff should be crucified.

Demonstrators Friday poured out of mosques after the main weekly Muslim prayers in Pakistan's largest city Karachi, the eastern city of Lahore, the capital Islamabad and other urban centres.

"If the pope comes here we will hang him on the Cross," Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, a senior leader of Pakistan's main alliance of radical parties, told around 200 noisy demonstrators in Islamabad.

The alliance, called the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal or United Action Front, forms part of the parliamentary opposition and is often heavily involved in street protests in mostly Muslim Pakistan.

Ahmed also said the pope had joined US President George W. Bush's "crusade" against Muslims, referring to Christians who fought against Muslims from the 11th through the 13th centuries.

I wonder what ABC thinks of this?

This is not only an attack against the pope, a true man of God like his most recent predicesor and a good example of how to live as a Christian. God Bless B16.

Why don't they take Madonna instead? She wants crucifixion.

I don't care if that slut wants to stage a crucifixion, but she ought to be scourged first. That's how it was done.

You know what I find odd? Or telling?

The silence of the Protestant Christians (esp. the Evangelicals) is deafening. I know Lord Carey spoke up, but I don't hear much from any other non-Catholic Christian leader.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I'd love to be wrong on this, btw.

"If the pope comes here we will hang him on the Cross,"

No one wants to come there.

sorry, "go" there. This isn't my day...

I'll bet if this crucification were to ensure that Islam would then disappear forever the Pope would have guts enough to agree.

No such guts exist in Islamania, where the vocal ones often hide in headscarves or in caves (like Osama bin Loser).

"If the pope comes here we will hang him on the Cross"

O.K. everyone, just settle down and take a deep breath and remember ... Islam is a peaceful religion that has been hijacked by a tiny minority of extremists.

Why would the Pope or anyone else with any kind of intelligence want to go there anyway? It's a one way street- those nuts are coming here in droves.

These protests will not stop since that is the nature of these punjabis.

They are very offended by pope but why dont they see that they themselves are the root cause of all oppression and terrorism.

Why abuse pope and his followers when they themselves are illiterate.

I worry about pope's safety and wish him well.

Insane.

Absolutely insane.

Who would have thought that almost two weeks after making a speech at a University, parts of the Muslim world would be threatening the Pope with crucifixion?

In one speech, the Pope has done more than all of the Western leaders combined to expose the true intentions of certain members of the ROP.

God Bless the Pope and God help anyone who makes an attempt on his life.

Well -- they crucified Christ for speaking the truth.

"The silence of the Protestant Christians (esp. the Evangelicals) is deafening. I know Lord Carey spoke up, but I don't hear much from any other non-Catholic Christian leader."

Have been thinking that myself. Not a mention in our Episcopal church or and offering of prayer for B16. The faithful in USA have been silent about these attacks on Christianity. That should concern us and make us wonder whether we truly have the fortitude for the coming fight or are we going to appease and accept as we have been doing for quite some time?

No, the Pope shouldn't be crucified...muslims should be fixed.

Every time these people "rage" they're wasting our air.

I don't hear much concern coming from the mouths of the Catholic Church, either, priests and bishops around the country and around the world are remaining very silent, which is strange, considering that Islam is specifically attacking the Pope and the Vatican. You would think at least the Italian communities in all the little italys would be up in arms. Not a peep from them. Not even so much as a snort from a mafia mob boss.

The Pope started this, then backed down, and the Catholic world has not come to his defence. They have left him to dangle in the wind. I don't think the Protestant silence is what is telling here.

August22:

You're right about the American Catholic bishops - I think one spoke up and that's it. Many of them oppose Benedict because they are leftists themselves. Some Jesuits (SJ as in Society of Judas) have also made lame apologies for the Pope, implying that he is a political idiot.

I do, however, think the silence of the Protestant Churches is VERY telling. They hate Catholics and are probably secretly agreeing with the Muslims. The enemy of my enemy is my friend...

I am not Roman Catholic, but I certainly support everything the Pope said regarding the nature of God and the nature of is message to mankind. If other Christian "leaders" are not supporting what Pope Benedict said, then shame upon them for their silence.

The silence of the Protestant Christians (esp. the Evangelicals) is deafening.

The 6th Pillar of Islam is a powerful force.

B16 showed leadership that his predecessor did not, but other leaders of actual religions must worry about, if the were to speak out, the consequence of having their faithful and their missionaries tortured and killed, seeing their church's torched (remember, we all have Moslems among us now), and even having the Protestant leaders's grandchildren beheaded.

You know the routine. Maybe that's an argument for celibacy among priests of all religions. The ability to say "screw it" and state the plain truth about Islam into the threatening face of the 6th Pillar.

610 * 623 * 732* 1066* 1215 * 1453 * 1492 * 1683 * 1928 * 1938 * 1948 * 1996 * 2001

Combine the 6th pillar with the natural alignment between Marxists and Moslems, and you have a recipe for disaster.

The progress of Islam's world takeover machine is incremental, and they never let up. 5 times every day, and all Friday evening every week; they are relentless, the Islamic onslaught is like a stopped up septic system: The words of the Koran just keeps on rising up.

Cougar said "The silence of the Protestant Christians (esp. the Evangelicals) is deafening. I know Lord Carey spoke up, but I don't hear much from any other non-Catholic Christian leader."

a couple of days back I posted a link to a letter a vicar here in UK wrote to the Times which clearly labled Islam as less than peaceful.

I know a guy who is involved in a church here who has been sent on a course to learn more about Islam (not for any fuzzy "we are all brothers" reason) who is more dismayed with the religion the more he learns.

In some ways the Islamists have had the upper hand recently, but these attacks are hurting them badly.

Lets just say that many tolerant people here have decided enough is enough, you can feel disinterest moving to dislike and even hatred.

Why don't they take Madonna instead? She wants crucifixion.Posted by: atheling

Now THAT was funny! -grin-

As for the comment about not seeing any protestant outcry...what do you want them to say? The biblical Christians have been preaching on what Islam is about for some time...the appeasers have been deadly silent or critical of those who were teaching the truth. No one wanted it said, but many heard anyway.

What we are seeing is exactly what we were told was coming. Yet, when we spoke about it, we were accused of being bigots.

Listen, I have friends and family that I love who are Catholics and I know that there are believers and non-believers in the Catholic and Protestant denominations. Jesus Christ knows who are his.

There are many protestants with websites who have been warning what is coming regarding Islam, the one world religion, etc. Many folks have been poo pooing their comments.

I commented the other day that this one preacher Rod Parsley is on a programme called Breakthrough on Sunday mornings (have heard him a few times lately) and he has been hitting the nail on the head with respect to what Islam is all about. I'll be surprised if he isn't threatened because of it.

Pat Robertson has spoken out and was criticized. Franklin Graham spoke out and was treated poorly. Jacob Praush, Tony Pierce, David Dolan, Chuck Missler, and many more have been warning for years now.

Some of us know we are in the last days and we know that Jesus told us things would go from bad to worse.

What more should these teachers say if no one will hear?

The US should have bombed Pakilund back into the stone age. They're not far from it anyway.

Our Prime Minister, John Howard, and Cardinal George Pell, (both Aussies), have spoken up in support of the Pope. Cardinal Pell came very close to being elected Pope.

I am not a Catholic and I fully support him and hope he stays safe.

I have to say each and every day more BS is coming from islam. And our leaders just take it.

I guess I can safely assume I am speaking for all of us:
I have had enough of them!

Time to bring up a quote by Winston Churchill:
(Where are some decent leaders like this when we need them?)

"“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”"

Actually, even in the Catholic Church, other than the traditional prayer that is offered in general for the Pope, Bishops and Priests, I have not heard these threats addressed specifically. I think maybe people don't want to acknowledge the possibility of something bad happening.

Well I am Catholic and Aussie, and I am proud of the way that Cardinal Pell spoke up to support the Pope. He is a good man. I am also very proud of John Howard because he has also spoken up. John Howard belongs to what is now the Uniting Church.

There have been a few American priests and Bishops whose comments have been published. However, if the MSM does not go to them to hear what they have to say then the wrong impression is being given.

Just as B16 is not popular amongst the lefties, especially in the USA, neither is Cardinal Pell popular amongst the lefties here in Australia.

As a Catholic I believe that Benedict should not make any further backtracking comments, but I have noticed that he has not in fact apologized to these monkeys and dogs who have a problem with anger management.

I support maggie4life. I think the pope should not go back and must stick to his comments.

He should also expose the Punjabi-Arab axis of evil which is waging brutal terrorism around the world.

They want to exploit and pillage and plunder and then have the nerve to criticize the pope.

We must ask the US to invade pakistan and teach the al qaida and punjabis a lesson.

The Evangelicals have been screaming about this for scores of years. The press makes them out to be crazy at every opportunity.

Carolyn2 is right...

"The Evangelicals have been screaming about this for scores of years. The press makes them out to be crazy at every opportunity."

There are several books out on the subject of Islam/Jihad by Evangelical Pastors:

John Hagee 1.Attack on America 2.The Battle for Jersusalem

Grant Jeffrey 1. War On Terror

Hal Lindsay has published several books.

The MSM typically doesn't bother telling anyone about them and if they do talk about it they make them out to be crazy.

"If the pope comes here we will hang him on the Cross"
...........

Why aren't people in the West more horrified by this? They seem to chalk it up to just more rhetoric from excitable Muslims.

"Demonstrators Friday poured out of mosques after the main weekly Muslim prayers in Pakistan's largest city Karachi...
.............

I was raised Episcopalian. I can remember how I felt after Sunday services or after chapel--calm, happy, serene, thinking well of others. Okay, maybe I sometimes felt a bit relieved that the service was over and we could go out to breakfast--hey, I was a kid.

The point is, I could *not imagine* incitement to violence being part of the service or sermon. I knew after the Pope spoke on Sunday that things would get even crazier later in the week, after Muslim Friday services.

I think everyone, Catholic or not, needs to stand up for what the Pope said. Every word and act of violence in reaction to his words just prove their truth further.

Gravenimage, "Why aren't people in the West more horrified by this?" Because thte mainstream media is NOT reporting this side of the news my friend. Saudi prince al-talweed's money is well spent in buying influence plus if they report negatively on islam and muslims they get death threats, anthrax laced mail, targeted by suicide bombers, etc. Also as long as muslims attack coalition troops around the world they can blame it on the Republicans and President Bush instead of insane, murderous muslims.

The Pope thought Muslims were civilized and tried to open up a dialogue.

The response of the muslims has been the reaction of brute beasts.

I have not seen any civilized behavior from their part to the Pope's invitation. Just beastly threats, murders, rage, and so on.

Cardinal Pell is a courageous man. I had forgotten that he did speak up.

Those Protestant leaders may have spoken in the past and were cowed into silence, but now is the time for them to join in the chorus to condemn and warn about Islam. The fact that they haven't seems to indicate that they are either too craven or that they just hope the Pope will take all the bullets.

Some friends.

As an American Catholic, I think the silence of American cardinals, bishops and clergy on the Pope's speech is absolutely deafening.

Unbridled liberalism, relativism, and multiculturalism are all high on B16's list of European and world problems, but the American clergy has been fed this stuff in their schools for decades and are now, in line with most American universities, among it's leading apostles. This apostleship is apparently more important than allegiance to the Vatican.

Australia, I gotta say I am jealous!

" Hundreds of Pakistani Islamists held street protests to condemn Pope Benedict XVI for remarks they regard as anti-Islamic, with one leader saying the pontiff should be crucified. "

THIS COUNTRY CALLED "PUKISTAN" MUST BE DEALT WITH AS MR. ARMITAGE SAID "BOMB THEM TO STONE AGE"

I AM SURPRISED NOT HEARING FROM OUR LIBERAL & LEFTIST IN SUPPORT OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

SHAME ON YOU SO CALLED LIBERALS AND ISLAMIC APOLOGISTS IF THE SAME WAS SAID BY SOME MULLAH AND CHRISTIANS DEMONSTRATED THEN ALL THE HELL WOULD HAVE BROKEN UP FROM LIBERALS OR ISLAMIC APOLOGISTS.

I HEREBY DECLARE THAT WHAT POPE "Benedict XVI" QUOTED ABOUT ISLAM IS 100% CORRECT AND I FULLY SUPPORT HIS VIEWS. LONG LIVE POPE BENEDICT XVI AND DEATH TO ALL ISLAMICS WHO DEMONSTRATE AGAINST HIM.

GO PAPA GO WE ARE WITH YOU.

One way that you can take an active reply to this is to boycott all medical establishments run or staffed by paki's or other sheet heads. Going through the phone book will show you how much of the medical establishment is populated by mohammadens. I requested to have a white male as a primary care physician and I have one. Also, any gas station that have these untemenschen employed or are owned by them. Just boycott them. I don't like these bastards and I avoid them like the plague.

Phalanx l work and live in muslim free zone. just keep rather large police style dogs sends them packing off.

Catholics that have written above, regarding the silence from the cardinals, bishops, etc., perhaps, in some small way, each of you can address this with your local church and just maybe this will cause more clergy to speak out.

Is it possible that they have been instructed to be quiet on the issue, in the hopes that it will go away?

I know that there have been many Protestants that have spoken out for many years, but as said above, have been criticized, called bigots or chastised by other, liberal 'nominal christian' groups.

Still, many have heard the truth and are not surprised at all by what they are seeing. We even know non-believers who are getting disgusted with Islam. Even THEY can recognise evil when they see it...homicide bombings, beheadings, gouging the eyes out of our soldiers, etc. How can a Freddy Kruger movie be any more violent or represent evil any better than this?

We all can share what we know with those we know, as the opportunity presents itself. But let's not forget that Jesus warned us that these last days would go from bad to worse. We need to remember that if God knew this would happen over 2000 years ago (see Matthew 24), then HE is still in control and will have the final say.
