This too has nothing to do with terrorism -- by which authorities mean that Joseph Bagley has no known ties to Al-Qaeda. And no doubt he doesn't -- if he was indeed up to no good, it looks as if he was most likely a lone (and probably non-Muslim) nut who admired Al-Qaeda for its destructiveness. That in itself, however, is noteworthy: bin Laden's boys have become the idols of homicidal nutjobs everywhere.
"Police find chemicals, al-Qaida literature in north side apartment," from WTHR.com, with thanks to JDH:
Indianapolis - The FBI says it does not suspect a terror plot on the city's northside, but police want to know why a man stored and mixed chemicals in his apartment and had al-Qaida literature. At the suspect's apartment near 96th and College crews pack the stores of cleaning and other chemicals found inside.
And the sheriff has moved the suspect from court to jail
They're holding Joseph Bagley for 72 hours, that could give police more time to check the computer the took from his apartment.
Capt. Phil Burton of the Marion County Sheriff's Deptartment says police also found, "A lot of hazardous chemicals, a gas mask, some literature about al-Qaida, about Saddam Hussein and how to make bombs. He admitted to mixing several chemicals and in so doing used his gas mask and exhaust fan."
At the lock up, a released prisoner who talked to Bagley told us, "He said he wasn't making bombs, he said there was carpet cleaner out. He said that whosever was cleaning his apartment was just terrified of everything laying out. (It) Didn't really look dangerous at all."
"This doesn't sound like any kind of international criminal conspiracy, it sounds like a lone operation involving one person," said Professor Douglad Woodwell of the University of Indianapolis. "There is definitely an inspiration al-Qaida offers to a lot of people around the world these days. They can perhaps play their own role in an epic battle."
And professor Woodwell says he could very well be a guy who just likes mixing chemicals.
Lest we not forget, cell members in the new plot are supposed to have Christian or Jewish names.
It's the old carpet cleaning ruse again?
Nobody cleans their own carpets. They always hire guys in gas masks to do it! Unless you use chemicals strong enough that you can't breathe you will never get those carpets clean.
Obviously the Sadaam Hussain chemical instruction book is the one to get. He has a very good history of using chemicals to clean muslim grime out of carpets. Just ask the Kurds for a reference.
Let's try this in a different way:
Indianapolis - The FBI says it does not suspect a murder in the city's northside, but police want to know why a man stored mutilated dead people in his freezer and had a bloody butcher's knife and a severed head on the kitchen table.
At the suspect's apartment near 96th and College crews pack the severed limbs and internal organs found inside.
And the sheriff has moved the suspect from court to jail.
They're holding Joseph Bagley for 72 hours, that could give police more time to check the cleaver they took from his apartment.
Capt. Phil Burton of the Marion County Sheriff's Deptartment says police also found, "A lot of knives, embalming fluids and some literature about cannibalism. He admitted that his apartment could give people the wrong kind of impression."
At the lock up, a released prisoner who talked to Bagley told us, "He said he wasn't doing anything illegal, he said he was a freelance coroner. He said that the police was just terrified of everything laying out. (It) Didn't really look dangerous at all."
"This doesn't sound like any kind of international criminal conspiracy, it sounds like a lone operation involving one person," said Professor Douglad Woodwell of the University of Indianapolis. "There is definitely an inspiration video games offer to a lot of people around the world these days. They can perhaps play their own role in an epic battle."
And professor Woodwell says he could very well be a guy who just likes to butcher people.
Alright, so maybe I'm exagerrating slightly. By the way, that article has some pretty bad grammar in it. Even I could do better, and I'm from Europe.
This is completely OT, but can someone please take a look at this 4th grade curriculum designed by Core Knowledge Foundation?
http://coreknowledge.org/CK/resrcs/lessons/04_4_CallofCaliphandPope.pdf
This is the geography/social studies unit, and it is on Islam, the Caliphate, and the Crusades. On the one hand, I'm surprised and pleased that the topic is even addressed, but on the other hand, I'm surprised at the number of inaccuracies found there. Core Knowledge is being touted as the more rigourous education option, used in public schools in some places and by many homeschoolers.
If you have time to look over this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Debbie Schlussel has a map of all the Islamic locations in the US. I failed to find it on her website, but Melanie Morgan has it linked from her page - once you are there, click on the link - 'See the map for yourself'. Pretty much all the major cities in the US are infected - NY, Boston, LA, San Diego, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Tampa, Orlando...
When we do have to get rid of them, it will be ugly.
Muslim logic on the war on terror: "This HAD to be the work of the Jews because as everyone 'knows' the holocaust didn't happen as the prophet was reincarnating itself tomorrow in a washing machine with a sword under his nose and a couple of Armenians up his ass while making the dish run away with the spoon and nuking America in the 1920s while painting Rembrandt's likeness in a mosque in Hawaii."

Do you remember who said this or have a link for it?
Our local al qaeda and muslim brotherhood reps recently left the mosque and town and the mosque newsletter has been revamped with links to three western named muslims.
Damn, I used to live in that neighborhood.
Indy's violent crime rate has shot up this past year; they just had a family of 7 murdered on the east side over the summer and assault/armed robbery stats are approaching Detroitistan levels. The city markets itself as a convention venue--OF COURSE they're going to downplay a guy with terrorist propaganda and bomb-making materials in his living room.
Even if he's a white guy with a Midwestern name, there are storefront mosques in Indianapolis. Totally plausible that none of his ID reflects his Muslim-convert name.
The professor who was asked to comment in that piece, Douglas (not "Douglad") Woodwell, had taught at Yale before moving to the University of Indianapolis. At Yale, he got in the news for having a "former" Taliban Muslim from Afghanistan as one of his students in his terrorism class.
...Woodwell’s students included Rahmatullah Hashemi, the former Taliban spokesman who infamously berated a female activist in Michael Moore’s film “Fahrenheit 9/11.” The revelation of Hashemi’s Ivy League admission made national news earlier this year, and the flap surprised Woodwell, who said the young Afghani man always sat front and center in the lecture hall and never caused problems.
“He came across as one of the most interested and dedicated students,” Woodwell says of Hashemi, who later backed away from his most militant statements.
Now at UIndy as an assistant professor of international relations, Woodwell is teaching Terrorism: Past, Present and Future, which explores methods and motives throughout the long history of acts that might be considered “terrorism.” In North America alone, the story begins as early as the 1622 Jamestown Massacre, in which local Indians killed 400 English settlers in a surprise attack.
Given that tradition, he says, the very phrase “war on terrorism” is misleading and not necessarily helpful.
“You can never end the tactic of terrorism,” Woodwell says. “All you can do is discredit the ideology that leads people to use those tactics.”
I wonder if Prof. Woodwell knows as much about that "ideology that leads people to use those tactics" as Robert Spencer does.

Yes, a lone individual who likes to mix chemicals. That's it. This has nothing to do with terrorism, and Islam is the Religion of Peace (tm). Repeating this magical incantation over and over will protect me.
This is no surprise since islamists will do anything to spread their ideology of hatred and terror.
Do what they want and you will loose, and if you do not obey their wish then also you loose.
Epicentre of this hate ideology is most intensely preached in the madrassas of punjab and saudi-arabia.
Egypt and Iran are not far behind.
These main centres will have to bombed and neutralized to save the humanity from islamist catastrophe.

It was from an interview with an Al Qaeda commander in Afghanistan last week telling Muslims to leave NY and Washington immediately, that an attack is planned and the terrorists have been given Christian or Jewish names, so they will be difficult to trace or find. Robert also posted the article several days ago. It sounds quite serious.
The judgement that this man is a jihadi incognito may be a little premature, don't you think?
Maybe he's building a counter-insurgency arsenal, just in case, and knew that he would find the info he needed to do so in jihadi materials.
Maybe not. If we had a news media that followed up on stories like this, we would know for sure in a couple of days, but it's more likely that this story won't be revisited, and all we are left with is conjecture and speculation.
The point is, don't jump to conclusions.
After all, how many of us fell for that whole "religion of peace" thing until not that long ago?
Things aren't always what they appear.
OneEyedJack, we're not jumping to conclusions, just being aware. The guy could be an Al Qaeda jihadi, or another nut like Jeffrey Dahmer. Either way, he shouldn't be walking our streets with an Al Qaeda instructional booklet and lots of chemicals. Something definitely isn't right with him. LOL!
Bonniea, saw that ad last week as well. Good to see you back on the board. Where have you been?
:o)
Regarding the warning to leave NY, Washington DC and LA, has anyone heard anything on whether Muslims are leaving these areas in huge numbers?
Just curious.
Hey Goobs! Thanks for thinking of me. There was a post yesterday regarding the killing of Christians in Iraq and I was thinking where is Goobs when we need her to elaborate on this? That post for me was Bible prophecy coming alive before our eyes. They are giving the Pope 3 days to apologize, then they will begin killing all the Christians in Iraq. It's the only place left where the language of Jesus, Aramaic, is still spoken.
