KUALA LUMPUR - The world’s largest Islamic grouping would revive two Saudi Arabia-based news organisations to counter Western media’s "skewered view" of Islam, a Malaysian official said on Wednesday.
The 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference, or OIC, would restart the International Islamic News Agency and the Islamic States Broadcasting Organization -- both set up in the 1970s, Malaysia’s deputy Information Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamid said.
Malaysia is the current chairman of the OIC.
"We want to revive it," Zahid said, adding the Saudi information minister has asked Malaysia to head the task.
It wasn’t clear how long or why the two organizations -- which would provide text and video -- have been dormant. Zahid didn’t provide details.
"The negative view of Islamic countries must change. The foreign media often has a bias against us," he said. "They have a skewered view."
No starting date or costs were provided.
Muslim nations, including Malaysia, have said media coverage by Western news organizations, particularly in the Middle East, is lopsided and portrays a negative view of Islam.

Bedier actually looked like a prattling chimp about to explode from rage and hatred for non-Muslims.

My mind is boggled at the absolute plethora of items that would be of interest in the western world about a day in the life of an ordinary Muslim in one of those third world Islamic countries.

And in Linds left hand, I can see nothing. Yet it appears that cigarette smoke is floating up and out from his left hand.
I see no cigarette. Is Ding-Dong smoking a joint? I see no roach-clip, but could it be a REALLY small roach?

While my stay in Malaysia, I watched TV often, especially the news & then compare what actually happened.
Malaysian Media always:
1. brands the WEST as Infedels.
2. The West army as 'Tentera Penceroboh' - Meaning Invading Army.
3. Israel killing innocent civilians in Palestine.
4. American Army killing civilians in Iraq & Afganistan.
5. brands Islamic Terrorist as freedom fighters. (including Bashir that killed 202 people in Bali)
6. The Papers Especially systematically shows non muslims (Non Malays to be precise) to be gangsters, criminals etc. And every week, there will be some article that states that non muslims dont have morals because they dont practice islam.
What they will never show is:
1. Most muslims like to live is the West, Almost ALL the malay politition's kids study & work in the western countries. All of them have assets there.
2. That the terrorist kill innocent civilians in Israel.
3. The things happening in Somalia, Sudan etc.
4. The Dhimmi Action in Progress.
5. The temple desctruction in Malaysia & world wide.
I personally seen many many pictures from both sides & I conclude that the most damage was on the Non-Muslims & not otherwise.
Besides, the Malaysian Goverment even sidelined the non muslims & Non malays in Malaysia. How do you expect them to run a TV Network without doing it fairly.

In my opinion I think the media is gentle about Islam. They felt sorry for all the 'innocents' in Lebanon (and yes there was some innocents, but how many since hizbo doesn't wear uniforms and uses dead children to inflame the West?), yet really didn't focus on the fact that Israel was the one attacked.

I used to have Muslims living in the unit beneath me. When their relatives would visit, the women would stare at me with an attitude of superiority and hatred. I can't understand why as they were the ones who had no freedom and forced to wear that headgear in 95 degree heat. I live in an upscale Jewish community and the city keeps blocking the permits to finish a second mosque being built here. Right after 9/11, someone rammed the mosque with their pick up. LOL!
