London, September 28: A leaked British document accuses Pakistan's intelligence agency of indirectly supporting terrorist groups including al-Qaeda, and it calls on Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf to disband the agency.Musharraf, who is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Tony Blair in London on Thursday, told the British Broadcasting Corp. that he rejected the assessment and would raise the matter with his counterpart.
"ISI is a disciplined force, breaking the back of al-Qaeda," Musharraf told the broadcaster, claiming his intelligence service had secured the arrests of 680 suspected terrorists.
Sure, Pervez. They started breaking the back of al-Qaeda right after Armitage threatened to bomb Pakistan back to the stone age, right?
Imagine that, these two organizations in the same bed! Allah uber alles, as a German might say. That's alright; more Western aid will pour into Pakistan so Al-Qaeda can keep on trucking.
Musharraf is quite the chameleon, I'll say that for him.
Pakistani, bombed WTC, nurtured, supported, raised and fed Taleban, funded 9/11, murdered Daniel Pearl, on camera, attacked Indian parliament and is still housing Osama. And president/commander-in-chief tells Americans Pakistan is a 'friend and ally' against terror. Go figure!
What is that quaint saying? Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer?
Pakistan isn't an ally and Islam isn't a religion of peace.

If the maddrasses of Pakistan are the centre of Islamic radicalization, then we need a policy to thwart their growing power. Simple deportation of Euro and US Muslims will not solve the problem of the radicalization of the Pakistani mosque attending masses. I would argue that without also a plan to reform Islam, to represent it in a way that suppresses rather than ignites the populous, there is a hole in your strategy.
If you argue that Islam is unreformable, you have to have an alternative, and the west is not providing one.
To crush militant Islam you need to re-take the madrasses, and make them your propaganda tools, not the radicals. Similarly, you repress Whahibbism, and it's cash impact.
Reform and domination must go hand in hand.
Musharraf is laughing all the way to the bank.
They've turned 9/11 into a nice protection racket scam.
Sorry, but I think Bush has done a poor job in the War on Terror, by allowing himself to get suckered by Musharraf and other trojan horses.

He is beginning to sound 'loonier and loonier' to me. "West will be brought to its knees without pakistan", and "If we were not with you, you would not manage anything", and "if ISI is not with you, you will fail.", and
"Pakistan had helped "win the Cold War" for the West.". And just last week, he said that India had stolen its nuclear programme from pakistan.

Musharraf may be many things... but loony isn't one. If anything, he is one brilliant strategist. It seems pretty clear to me that Mush was summoned by the USA and Britain to be read the riot act by Bush and Blair who I am sure by now are completely fed up with Mush's lack of cooperation in this 'war on terror'. I am sure the Bush govt. had plenty of evidence to present before Mush about his duplicity. Mush has clearly decided that his best defence in such a case is to go on the offensive, knowing full well that the USA is hardly in a position to go to war with him what with their being already bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan not to mention the looming headache of Iran.
I thought Pakistans (or any other crapistan for that matter) intelligence was al-qaeda.

My understanding was that the ISI really IS al-Qaeda!
