Papal assassin warns Pope Benedict his 'life is in danger' if he visits Turkey

And he should know. Agca also called upon the Pope to resign. It seems as if almost everyone in the world, including Western leaders who should know better, wants him to bow before Islamic intimidation in one way or another. From the Evening Standard, with thanks to Mackie:

Pope Benedict faces a growing chorus of demands to make an unequivocal apology for remarks seen as portraying Islam as a violent faith, despite attempts by Western leaders and churchmen to defuse the crisis.

The calls came as it emerged papal hitman Mehmet Ali Agca, who is serving a life sentence for the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II in May 1981, has written to Pope Benedict XVI from jail, warning him not to go to Turkey as planned in November in the light of his remarks.

Agca, a Turk gave his ominous warning in a letter to an Italian daily newspaper....

In his two page letter to leading Italian Rome based daily La Repubblica, Agca, who was a member of the Turkish terrorist cell the White Wolves, wrote: "Pope Ratzinger listen to someone who knows these things very well.

"Your life is in danger. You absolutely must not come to Turkey. Pope Benedict you must know that between 1980 and 2000 I was in contact with various Western intelligence services and with the Vatican.

"In those twenty tears I learnt many things and I came into possession of many classified secrets."

The letter closed with Agca imploring Pope Benedict to resign for his own safety he wrote: "For your own welfare you must make a grand gesture of honour and resign.

"Then you must return to your native land (Germany) and in your place an Italian cardinal can be elected Pope, possibly (cardinal Dionigi) Tettamanzi or (cardinal Tarcisio) Bertone.

"Then the Vatican should become a centre of peace and fraternity. The world has a need of this it does not need hatred and vendetta."

The hatred and vendetta is coming only from one side, Agca.

We could retalliate by saying should something happen to the Holy Father then no Turk in America will be safe.

Go to Turkey, Holy Father. Go.

Sounds like someone is really scared. And it ain't us.

I would hate for anything to happen to the Pope. But to prove to the islamics that he stands behind his faith and words, I guess he must go. I would hope the world would take the stance, that, if anything happens to him while in Turkey, that it is an offense to the ENTIRE world, and we would act accordingly. And then do it. We are all so sick and tired of the rants and raves and bloodshed of the mohammadons.

The Pope is not going to Istanbul to powwow with the Turks but to offer support to the Patriarch of Constantinople, who lives under constant restrictions and harrassment from the Turkish authorities. This Pope truly believes that if Orthodox and Catholics do not form an ironclad alliance to revitalize Christian civilization, Europe will be lost to Islam. May God be with him in this endeavor.

"Then the Vatican should become a centre of peace and fraternity. The world has a need of this it does not need hatred and vendetta."

It never ceases to amaze me how deluded Muslims are. They can deliberately kill thousands and thousands of innocent people and still insist that they are on a mission of peace and justice againts war-mongering Christians. They can say "we will kill all infidels" and "stop the hating and learn to tolerate Muslims" in one sentence without noticing the obvious contradiction. It's like the part of their brain that's responsible for logical thinking has been shut down. They have an irreversible victim mindset which allows them to murder, rampage and terrorise without any sense of responsibility. They (even the clueless "moderate" Muslims) can spin anything around to make it look like the Zionists and Christians are at fault.

Acga assassination plot was but one on a POPE, the second was in 1982 and the third and possible the most interesting was involved with the 1995 plot (which was part of oplan bolinka-(spelling?) in which the muslims were to kill the pope, have 11 airplanes hit with suicide bombers and have targets in america hit: for the pope:

IN PART:

Pope assassination plot
The first plan was to kill Pope John Paul II when he visited the Philippines during the World Youth Day 1995 celebrations. On January 15, 1995, a suicide bomber would dress up as a priest, while John Paul II passed in his motorcade on his way to the San Carlos Seminary in Makati City. The assassin planned to get close to the Pope, and detonate the bomb. The planned assassination of the Pope was intended to divert attention from the next part of the phase. About 20 men had been trained by Yousef to carry out this act prior to January 1995.

I say, go to Turkey because he must meet with the Orthodox spiritual leader there in order to help bring along the need for Christian unity. If the Christians are united, they can better stand up to the Muslims.

Big decision to make.

I hope he goes, then they try to kill him and they FAIL!

haha thats the best.

The Holy Father will force the Turkish hand. Go, go, go. As we all know, this first and foremost a religious and ideological war. Having a stand up Pope is going to put some serious wind in the free world sails.

I'd like to see them try something... but they won't let it go that far. The Turkish government won't allow him to visit, I'll give you crosses to scimitars.... 10:1

I'll be...

They can say "we will kill all infidels" and "stop the hating and learn to tolerate Muslims" in one sentence without noticing the obvious contradiction. It's like the part of their brain that's responsible for logical thinking has been shut down.

Actually, the problem is exactly the reverse. Muslims are following their internal logic too fervently. They believe that Islamic supremacy is the only way to peace, and all who stand in the way of that are frustrating peace and spiritual purity, and are therefore fomenting "mischief and corruption in the land" which threatens the divine eschatological mission of Islam. It's essentially the logic of the utopian purist who is fiercely intolerant of, and deathly afraid of, the imperfections of life, and sees all those humans who resist their purist utopia to be enemies who must be subjugated or liquidated in one way or another.

Well, there's logic and then there's "logic."

Remote Control: here is what Allah sanctions to bring the land to a state of distopia:

5.33. The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;

Agca, only the One True Lord decides when a Pope’s mission is over and his time on this earth is done.

Ditto for Germany.

Thanksgiving is near. Time for some turkey hunting!

Pope Benedict should go. If anything happens to him, then the backlash the Turkish government will get will be deplorable at best.

What few Christians are left in Turkey are systematically being forced out, especially the Syrian Orthodox. If anyone can point out the plight of the Christians living in Turkey, it will be Pope Benedict.

[[If the Patriarch of Constantinople is smart (and that's debatable) then Bartholomaios should put the politics aside and understand that as far as the Patriarchate is concerned, Constantinople is in a no-win situation without outside help. Constantinople has only five parishes under its direct jurisdiction, the Greek Archdiocese is pushing for autocephaly, which it will get eventually "by turning off the money", (which is how the Antiochian Orthodox got theirs) and get out of Turkey.]]

I have long thought it's best we take in all NON-muftis out of ALL enemy lands. IN EXCHANGE all muftis living on OUR HOLY LANDS *must* remove themselves back to their lands of origins. I am appalled each and every day of my life when I think of their filthy feet soiling our HOLY GROUNDS.

It roils me. Their smugness.. acting as if they OWNED the place already! Disgusting!

Yet the media prattle on.. I am practically puking my guts out listening to these fools on NPR going on about rich and poor countries and redistribution and how these radio hosts are cooing to the lefty guests they have on there!! Limbaugh just had a funny bit on about how Wolf Blitzer was oohing and aww-ing about the arrival and speech my Ahmedinazi at the UN. Too bad limbaugh is usually a golfing Bush-bot who only supports THE CAUSE with less than half a heart! Point is: Isn't NPR TAXPAYER-supported??!! Meaning some of my money also goes to support these underminers and Quislings!

We must erect walls around Israel after they take the West Bank and Gaza - and after they expel all persons dangerous to them.

same for Europe and the USA. FORTRESS EUROPE! FORTRESS USA!

I know this is very OT::

But.. Can someone please tell me WHY NPR/PBS is continually allowed to bash the USA and other Western countries - Israel of course included most of all?!

These "journalists" - I use the term lightly - sit like maggots in a slab of meat while they constantly besmirch the hand that feeds them.

The liberal Left has ABS NBC CBS and CNN and I am sure I've missed a few.

At least those stations are financed by commercial revenue. so we could begin to threaten their advertisers with targeted boycotts if their news coverage doesn't reflect Western values a bit more. Why don't we?!

And I propose a "NPR/PBS Reform Act" NOW!!!

Naseem,
you certainly have a very warped way of looking at responsibility.

If Muslims are angry with the Pope's words, then the proper thing to do is to deal it directly with him, not kill some nun who has dedicated her life to helping the poor and needy Muslims. Or for that matter, what has some of the churches that have been burnt got to do with the Pope? Don't blame it all on others. Muslims have been provocating Christians about this talk of jihad for a long time. How would you feel if Christians start taking it out on Muslims in USA and UK?

Interestingly, it is in the UK that you are assured that you can practice your own faith without being harrassed by the authorities. Try your Ahmadi faith in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan.

And therein lies the difference. Jesus said to do to others what you want others to do to you. Whereas Muslims only know "an eye for an eye".

Agca claims to have classified knowledge???

What the hell?

What a self-important ass.

Agca was and is an unstable puppet. What he is heard to say is only as much as is allowed by others to be heard. His rantings may in part be ludicrous and megalomaniacal, but the remainder almost certainly contains a threat to the Pope from Agca's handlers.

Given the context and timing of the Pope's speech, one can only conclude that Benedict XVI was completely aware of such possibilties. The Pope is a brave man, intelligent and morally upright, to the best of my ability to see or to judge. His visit to Turkey --to Byzantium-- might be a way of telling Eastern Christendom and the world at large that, more than five hundred years after the fact, the West now fully recognizes what a disaster it was that Constantinople was lost to the incursions of jihad.

Being a fan of reason, there is nothing the Roman Catholic Pope could say that would effect me one way or another.

However, rather than coming across as wishy washy, he would gain more respect as just a leader by cutting the apologies off now, and continuing on with whatever schedule that he had.

l am so sick of hearing that the Pope's apology is not good enoug from those monsters! when was the last time a world leaders implored any muslim cleric to appologize for their remarks. l guess we cant expect any decenty from muslim clerics.

...........

Yeah, that's what we need. The would-be assassin of the most concillatory and all-embracing Pope in history to lecture us about peace and fraternity.

I'm sure the College of Cardinals will feel just fine handing over the decision of the next Pope to him as well.
