Briars, my thoughts exACTLY. Where I live in the good old midwestern US, there is only 1 mosque (Thanks be to God). It is often the site of huggy-kissy get-togethers between Mooslims and assorted Christians. These get-togethers, more often thnan not are sponsored by Catholic so-called "nuns." (Of the wearying refugees from the '60's who have traded in their garb, their way of life and their rule of prayer in order to become perpetual peacenicks and believers in an amorphous god(ess)).
ANY demonstration regardless of how peaceful, within the vicinity of that Mosque Hellhole would result in immediate arrests.
I have not heard of any demonstrations here at Catholic or other Churches today. My guess is that the Mooslims wouldn't have the testicalia to draw near to one of our large Polish, Italian, Irish, or Mexican congregations. Because the lads that make up these communities would kick the living shit out of them. (Which would, by the way, be a sin which I'm sure the True God would mercifully forgive).

Can fully understand the frustration. Democratic systems are blind to Islamic idology. There is little or no awareness, much less defence, of Islamic agenda, and even less information about Jihad, Dawa, Taquiyya and Umma. Sensing this ignorance and blood, mosques have sprouted all over like mushrooms. Add to that corrupt and timid politicians who sell out security for votes and we have a pathetic defence. Given the gravity of the situation, expulsion of both muslims and politicians that pander to them, is imperitive for survival.

Some priests have been helping these muslim immigrants - getting them settled etc. They have also allowed them to remove crucifixes from schools and hospitals. I am not that confident.

Under this, they know they are primitive, they know they are backwards, they know they are increasingly despised by the world, and they know they are wrong. Drive all these things home without let up, and pressure them until they capitulate. We will know the results by their actions. Either stop supporting Jihad and condemn it universally, or demonstrate on a large scale against the evils of Islamic Jihad, and finally start the process of religious reforms. Though they will hate us initially, in the end, they will thank us for forcing them to look at themselves.

They must be made to understand how utterly ridiculous they are in our eyes, and then made to bow in acknowledgment. Reason is not the answer here, because they fail to understand reason, and remain unmoved. It will take more than mere polite interfaith dialogue to make them see themselves in the absurd, which they are. Good leadership will maintain hard pressure on them relentlessly. At some point they will begin to crack. Like a house of cards, their evil belief system will start to collapse from within, led by their own who will feel shame and embarrassment. Under this, they know they are primitive, they know they are backwards, they know they are increasingly despised by the world, and they know they are wrong. Drive all these things home without let up, and pressure them until they capitulate. We will know the results by their actions. Either stop supporting Jihad and condemn it universally, or demonstrate on a large scale against the evils of Islamic Jihad, and finally start the process of religious reforms. Though they will hate us initially, in the end, they will thank us for forcing them to look at themselves.
Remember, they know they are wrong. Stay that course, force them to see how they are wrong, and we can win this, with little bloodshed. We need to bring strong men and women to office, those who will understand this and have the intestinal fortitude to bear that pressure on them, to bring this off without bloodshed. The other stuff is easy, deportation, immigration restriction, CCTV in their mosques, etc., that's easy. Dealing with their threats and violence are easy. The hard part will be the pressure of truth to make them face themselves. (JW/DW is already doing this, as have others, like Fallaci.) Though they may not like it, hate it, in the end it will release them from the nightmare they inherited. No mullah or ayatollah can stand against this pressure indefinitely, because they will see themselves in the absurd, as their followers will see them as absurd. If Muslims had been successful through history, this would not work. But they are failures, and they know they are failures. Bear down on that, that they failed. Their only success was in manipulating media to serve their interests, where they have lodged themselves as above reproach and criticism. It is undeserved. So reverse that. Criticize them and reproach them without mercy. That will lead to our victory.
Islam is like a bad child that knows it is bad. It has no choice but to change. With this relentless pressure, we will actually do all the Muslims in the world, and all the unfortunates of other religions who are trapped in their lands, a great service. Everything can change very quickly if our world, which is far more intelligent than theirs, stays the course. Stay with the script and bear pressure of dialogue on them at all times. But to do this, we need good leadership at all levels of society, from government on down to school teachers, the church and the press. I think the Pope called the first shot, five years after 911, and see how they responded with raging hatreds and demands of apologies, etc. He hit them at their weakest point. That was the key. Now we demand from them, with constant pressures on them, telling them they are wrong until they capitulate. The real dialogue is on.

I don't think the Pope did fully apologize for what he said, he had to make some diplomatic overtures to keep the situation from spinning out of control completely - people have been killed, churches have been attacked already. In any case he said what he said and it is quite inconcivable that he was not fully aware of the consequences right from the beginning. Questions will be asked again about islam, people will find out who Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Paleologus was (anybody ever heard of him before?) and why he had such a bad view of islam. Many (most probably) in the West are still not aware of the real nature of the thread we all face. It is a slow (too slow perhaps) process of awakening - I know from my own experience; 911, Bali, Madrid all did not help. I had the first doubts when the Thai jihad started anew and really found out what it all is about only after Beslan.

this is a flash demo. the anti-Jihadists in the UK need to form counter-Islam demo's to promote our cause when these people turn up. In this case Our people should be illustrating the Koranic verses that promote violence, and highlighting our desire:

A few months ago a member of the right wing BNP was prosecuted for “aggravated racial assault” of an Iraqi whose claim for asylum had been rejected twice. He didn't actually assault the man I assume he just told him he had no right to be in England. It is not certain the Iraqi was a Muslim or even spoke English.
He was sentenced to two a half years imprisonment. I doubt he will serve more than six months as he has appealed but I should explain to you why he got two and a half years.
If he had been sentenced to six months imprisonment which is more usual for this sort of thing he would probably have been sent to an open prison. These are virtually camps without walls or fences, the prisoners are allowed to move pretty freely but obviously they may not leave the prison. But because of the length of his sentence prison regulations probably required he be sent to a normal enclosed prison and the nearest one was 50 miles from his home. This obviously made it difficult for his relatives to visit him but I am sure it was not deliberate on the part of the authorities. Neither was it deliberate that the prison happened to have a noticeable Muslim and Black population who attempted to beat him up at the first opportunity. Because of this he had to apply to be allowed to stay in his cell for 23 hours a day for his own safety.
So you see in a democracy you do not get six months in solitary confinement for insulting a Muslim. You get a long sentence you can appeal against but while you are waiting you have to go into a tough prison full of Muslims and Blacks who hate your guts. You then have to ask to be locked up in solitary confinement for your own safety.
Neat?
Meanwhile Muslims parade with placards saying "Look out London Bin Laden is coming" and "Behead those who insult Islam" and the police threaten to arrest any bystanders who complain.

You have wrong information. A trial stated that cricifix in schools is not anti-constitutional so there is no law to remove it.
WE don't have mosques all over the place, Italy is currently the EU country with the SMALLEST muslim community. WE haven't allowed poligamy.

1- Name one civilization that has over any, more that token period of time, been able to coexist peacefully where Islam is part of the plueralistic cultural mix.
2- To my knowledge the only historical model (outside of the Balkans and we all know how well that has gone.) we have is Spain. Why did Spain outlaw Islam?
I'd like to close with some dialogue many on here have some very harsh things to say about Muslims living in the west, and Spencer has taken a lot of flack in this regard. Most of us were not born with these opinions, in fact most of us have had our PC attitudes shattered by research, and observation. I say to the Muslim community change my mind not only with words, but with action, as your deeds will speak for you. In closing I'd like some of you to make fictitious persons on Muslim myspace (I did both as a supposed Muslim, and as a Christian). What I found only confirmed what I already knew. Most Muslims want to live in peace, but if you tally it up there are about say 15% that that do not want to live in a pluralistic society. They feel like we (the west) expect them to change, also there is a violent aspect to this notion. I had a long conversation about apostates, all agreed they should be killed, which is illegal in the west. The dichotomy is that if they do not believe this and kill apostates, they are apostates take that for what it is and implies.

Why did Spain outlaw Islam?
As much political as anything else. The Muslims had been in occupation for 800 years but the Christians had been pushing them steadily back for about 500 of those years. Muslims were seen a political, military and economic threat.
It does not occur to people that the extreme nature of Spanish Christianity grew out of its struggle against Islam. When you spend centuries fighting an enemy who believes death is instant access to paradise and everlasting sex you cannot “mess about”.
The inquisition seems to have been mainly aimed at uncovering Muslims the Jews who were seen as possible sympathisers. I read that the church tried to set up inquisitions in Northern Europe but the natives told them to push off. I would guess the lack of any political need in Northern Europe was part of the reason.
Imagine the screams of outrage frim the muslims and their proponents if non-muslims were to hold rallies outside mosques when they come out of their prayers/religious indoctrination on Fridays. These protestors should have been arrested for hate speech, making death threats then jailed and/or deported.

This is an interesting subject I think more people should be aware of. People look at history the wrong way sometimes I think. These people in Spain were like us, with the same hopes and aspirations. Too often we look at history out of context as if "they" were just backwards, or bigoted. I think there needs to be rational public debate about this, because this is a good modle for what is happening now and is about to happen in the future. It may seem drastic to some now, but what would drive people to do this? I believe we are inching closer and closer history will repeat itself, but only after we burn.
