Somali Christian sources report Ali Mustaf Maka'il, a 22-year-old college student and cloth merchant who converted from Islam to Christianity 11 months ago, was shot and killed in the Manabolyo quarter of Mogadishu.According to a report from the Barnabas Fund, quoting a Christian source inside Somalia, the gunman was loyal to the Union of Islamic Courts, the Islamist organization that took power in Mogadishu in early June and now controls much of southern Somalia.
The report states the gunman shot Ali in the back Sept. 7 after he refused to join a crowd chanting Quran verses in honor of the lunar eclipse. Solar and lunar eclipses are significant in Islam and are accompanied by special congregational prayers. The Union of Islamic Courts confiscated Ali's body for 24 hours before delivering it to the grieving family, the report said.
The Barnabas Fund comments: "It seems that under the new Islamist rulers, who include hard-line jihadi elements, the tragic history of persecution and martyrdom for Somalia's tiny Christian community is set to continue and most likely to worsen."

It appears that many Muslims would not recognize a martyr if they stumbled across his corpse. This man deserves to be honored. I have hope now that Catholics have a Pope who sees the truth about Islam. Maybe Muslim apostates' day of recognition is closer than it was before.
Apostates represent a mortal threat to Islam. If people had a clear exit from it, the faith would wither, because it goes against human need and conscience. When the issue of Sharia's provision for the prevention of Apostasy, the penalty of death, is finally breached openly, and it will, we can expect a firestorm of defensiveness from Islamic religious authorities.
The way to win the war against the global Jihad is not violence, but rather criticism and shaming of Muslims.
This should not come as a surprise. Tariq Ramadan, who boasts about being a Muslim and an European would love to see Europeans converting to Islam...
but the same guy looses his cool and foams from the mouth when one mentions about Muslims in Europe converting to christianity.

The brunt of the Muslim hatred and violence is borne by the muslims who have converted to Christianity.
They deserve our respect and our honor. Perhaps the worst existence on earth is theirs, rejected both by their own community and by an effete 'tolerant', PC and post-christian West.

Robert Morey (The Islamic Invasion) and others have have drawn angry responses from Islamic apologists about the implication that Allah is the reconstituted moon god. Number on on the "to do" list of a religion that wants the world to believe Allah is really the same god of the Jews and Christians would be to eliminate all ceremonies celebrating solar and lunar events.
Maybe they should also abrogate some moon verses in Quran, such as Surah 84:15, "I swear by the glow of sunset; by the night; and all that it brings together; by the moon, in her full perfection: that you shall march onwards from state to state."
By the way, check on the derivation of "lunatic."

I don't know why more people around the world (both Christian and otherwise) are not more incensed by violence against Christians. Oddly, I think it is still not widely known. I often talk to otherwise quite well-informed people who have never heard about it, and can't imagine that it is widespread.

How telling that the Mohammedans honor an eclipse of the moon.
Is there any more fitting symbol of a dark demonic force than a thin, crescent moon.
Possibly, perhaps, a total eclipse of that moon.
