Spencer on Medved show today

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to notify you before it happened, but I just finished a marathon two-hour segment of the Michael Medved Show, debating Jeff Siddiqui of American Muslims of Puget Sound. You can still catch it in many places, including on a Podcast at Medved's site.

Could somebody locate a post a link to the podcast? I couldn't find it on the websites of the radio-stations! Thanks!

Robert

Two hours? M-e-d-v(as-in-victory)-e-d had you both on 2 hours, and I just heard the first? Grrrrrrrr!!!!

Anyway, a special thanks for not letting that weasel Jaffar (let's not make it sound like he's a Wuslim, okay?) Siddiqui get away with his claim that since today more than a billion Hindus are there in India (actually the number is 850m), no genocide/conversion of Hindus took place. Too bad no rebuttal was there for his outrageous claims on the Banu Quraiza - namely, that it was done in self defense. And it was funny hearing the exchange with caller Abdul on the authenticity of Ibn Ishaq, or the Siddique's questioning the genuineness of the hadiths. And you really got his goat at the end on the Sudan question; of course, none of these things happen in the name of Islam.

Hope Michael Medved has you on again soon, but this time to yourself, and with fewer Muslim callers. There are arguments one can have as to how dangerous Islam is, without having to involve Islam apologists in every debate that comes up.

In future, I'd also like you to discuss with him his term Islamo-Nazi, and how it's no different from mainstream Islam.

P.S. You should have tried your Arabic - whatever you know of it - on the caller Abdul.

Way to go Robert. Listened to all of it.

Same old mo excuses............ The koran does not say what it says.

Infidel Pride:

Thanks.

Re Arabic: I refuse to play that game. In the first place, Medved would have apoplexy if I started speaking Arabic on his English radio show. Secondly, I reject their contention that you have to know Arabic to understand all this. That's just an apologetic dodge, and a weak one at that, given the avalanche of translations of Muslim texts made by Muslims and for Muslims.

Robert at least he is honest enough to allow you on.I bet money Sean Hannity doesnt have the guts or the honesty to allow you on...He had Walid Shoebat and tried to tell Walid that the terrorist have perverted Islam, then spoke over Walids answer.Sean Hanninty has no honesty left.

Storagemanager:

Regnery Publishing offers Hannity a chance to host the authors of its books before anyone else, as soon as the book comes out.

This is my third book with Regnery.

I have never been on Hannity.

Draw your own conclusions.

I'm a conservative, but Hannity is Mr. Party-Line...whatever George or the RNC says. He believes Islam is being perverted...plus, his "you're a great American" shtick makes me nauseous.

Robert should go larry Elder again.he does a great job of telling the Truth..He has put up your interview from 2003...Still great today...http://www.larryelder.com/

Yes I did forget how to speak english.

Robert

Thanks. Did the second hour continue into Medved's third hour, or is it going to air on a subsequent show? Medved made no mention of it at the end of his second hour.

I know you didn't have the time to address this - Siddiqui's contention that no verse of any Hadith overrides the Quran: the thing worth pointing out is that the Hadith do resolve any descrepancies that may exist between any 2 Quranic verses. Besides, for the point under discussion - your sources for 'The Truth about Mohammed', Quranic verses can't substitute the Hadith, since, according to Islamic tradition, the Quran was written by Allah and therefore neither a biography nor the traditions of Mohammed. (Or did you use the Quran as sources for that as well?)

Medved sees the problem of Islam more or less clearly, but somehow, he glosses over that aspect whenever he discusses Iraq - apparently, in his view, the Iraqi people have aspirations different from that of the triumphalist Muslims.

Dear Mr. Spencer,

Why no posting of the text, of the Thug-in-Chief of Iran?

He stated: about the U.S. efforts in Iraq, "the occupiers are incapable of establishing security in Iraq" and every day hundreds of people get killed "in cold blood."

AND, or course; the World Press not understanding that, All most half 48.5% of Iraqi’s killed since Jan 05 are Muslins, killing Muslims in a power-play.
.
.
.
Question. Is the U.N. and the U.S. being played?
.
.
.
A key problem in the middle-east is a historic distrust of the truth!

Is there a transcript of that 2-hour debate? I get such a kick out of reading Robert's debates. I think that's when I learn the most about these issues. Computer and dial-up access are too slow to get the podcast.

Infidel Pride,
There are 850 million Hindus in India and that proves that there were no Hindu genocides ? Entire cities were wiped out to the last child by the muslim invaders. How come he got away after making such a statement ?

Dang it.

I missed today's talk show because I was at work during the early afternoon when the Michael Medved show airs here in Seattle.

I need to pay the bills.

Micheal Medved is a great radio talk show host. I really enjoy listening to his radio shows when I have the time.

Does anyone have a link to the podcast from today's show with Michael Medved?

OT

"Al-Qaida retains the initiative and the U.S. is operating ‘inside the intentions and plans’ of Al-Qaida"

http://cryptome.org/alqaida-game.htm

You need to be a paying member of Medved's site to access the podcasts, folks.

Thank you Robert! That was fantastic! You need your OWN radio programme. That will be the best.

I used to listen to Hannity.

The podcast of the Medved show is available from iTunes. Just enter "Medved" in the search box.

You can also go to this URL and click the podcast link, but it will just give you a url to post into iTunes.
http://www.townhall.com/talkradio/Show.aspx?RadioShowID=4

You should also be able to download the Sept 19 show from the news group alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc. You need to use a news reader that will download and decode .rar files. I use NewsRover as my news reader.

My bad. I posted the info about the podcast. You may have to wait for a few hours before it shows up in Itunes. The show is already present in the news group alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc

If you start iTunes and search the music store for Medved, you only get a sample of the show, not a full episode. However, if you click on the link below
http://www.townhall.com/talkradio/Show.aspx?RadioShowID=4
you will be taken to a web page that lets you select which of several podcasts you want to download. Select the checkbox next to Medved and you will be given a link to paste into Itunes, from there you will be able to download the podcast. On rare occassions I have to wait upto one day to find the show in iTunes. Generally the show is available within 1/2 day of the airtime.

I can hardly wait to listen. I am a regular listener to Medved. Jeff Siddqui is a regular guest and much more tolerable to hear than the usual CAIR types.

The Medved show is already present in the news group alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc

What program is good to make sense of these binaries? I do get that newsgroup but don't know how to combine them

THANKS!

To use the .rar file downloaded from a news group I use a news reader called News Rover. There are numerous news readers, Outlook and Outlook Express are the most common ones on the PC. Search your news reader's help file for ".rar decoding". Outlook and Outlook express don't decode .rar files. I think another widely used news reader is Agent and there is a free version of Agent. I'm not sure if the free version will combine the multiple parts and decode into .mp3 format. The specifics of downloading and decoding are peculiar to each news reader.

You might try googling "decode .rar"

Here is a specific link for info and directions usig News Rover and .rar files.
http://www.newsrover.com/support_rar.htm

If you can download all of the parts of the binary file from the news group you can use a program like WinRAR to combine the parts and make one usable file. Just Google winrar.

tscottme

Many many thanks. I have Outlook Express and will see if that will do it now that I know process is called decode .rar. I use winrar. Maybe that will do it. I download the parts then look for where the file is located in the Outlook Express folder. Then use winrar

I'll look at the other programs too. Maybe they combine the parts better than winrar

THANKS

I had the pleasure of hearing your debate yesterday and just wanted to say THANK YOU !!!

I wouldn't say he got away with that - Robert did suggest that people who want to check out what really happened refer to KS Lal and Sitaram Goel.

I summarized the salient points brought up in the program for something else I'm doing, and here they are:

  • The pope's quoting the Byzantine emperor would be akin to someone else quoting Hitler, and that quoting Hitler would automatically imply endorsement;
  • Talking about the spread of Jihad through the sword which Robert brought up about the conquests of Christians, Jews and Hindus, Siddique pointed out that India has 1 billion (sic; actual number is 850m) Hindus, therefore they couldn't have been converted
    • He went on to state that early conquerors discouraged people from converting;
      • Dhimmitude comes from Dhimma, which means protected people; he also mentioned that in their first few years, Muslims actually discouraged conversion to Islam (conviniently leaving out the fact that the reason they may have done it, if they did, was to charge jiziya)  Robert suggested that listeners read Bat Yeor, instead of engaging in a ping pong exchange on the radio;
      • 'No Compulsion in Religion' - he emphasized that it was a latter verse, rather than an earlier verse.  Robert actually concurred here, rather than point out 2:257.
      • When asked by Medved which Islamic countries have a reasonably tolerant democratic government, he mentioned Malaysia and Indonesia.  That went unrefuted - no mention of bhumiputra in Malaysia, or Indonesia's increasing strife in Sulawezi, Aceh, et al.
    • Robert countered that listeners could check the facts for themselved from Bat Yeor for the Christians/Jews of the Mid East, and KS Lal & Sitaram Goel for the Hindus
  • When challenged to point out an inaccuracy in Robert's work, Siddique used 9:5, and pointed out how 9:4 and 9:6 explicitly state that it should be used for self defense only, and that if the enemy sought refuge, it should be granted;
  • Talking about Robert's use of Ibn Ishaq, one Muslim caller challenged his use of Ibn Ishaq on the grounds that he didn't know Arabic, and stated that the authenticity of Ibn Ishaq was challenged by contemporary Muslim jurists;
  • In response to Robert's contention that he not only used the sira, but also the Sahih Bukhari and Muslim Hadith, Siddique countered with the arguments of the weak Hadiths, and mentioned that even the most authentic Hadiths didn't trump any verse of the Quran.  (Robert didn't, or didn't get to, address the fact that the Quran had its own share of contradictory verses, but instead countered with the reality that Muslims worldwide use these hadiths - authentic or not - to justify the mayhem they cause)
  • Robert then narrated the episode of Banu Qureish, and how some 800 Jews were massacred.  Siddique then went on to a narration of the 3 tribes and how that was a defensive operation, with the Muslims having been betrayed by the previous 2 tribes.
  • Final segment - a caller asked about the Armenian genocide and the one in Darfur, which left Siddique flustered.  Robert pointed out that the Sudanese regime regards the people in Darfar as not Islamic enough, and uses that as the rationale to justify the campaign against them.

Infidel Pride:

Thanks for the summary, but as a recapitulation of the exchange it is rather long on his assertions and short on my responses.

Robert

You are right. Actually, 4 of us at JihadWatch are working on a handbook that takes the common apology points of Muslim spokespeople, and takes them on. With that goal, I summarized your exchange, focussing on Siddiqui's assertions in the hopes of seeing whether there were any that we missed, and took on it from that standpoint. I didn't mean to imply that you did a less than comprehensive job (although IMO you could have used more air-time), and do regret if it came out that way.

All 3 hours of the show are now available from ITunes after clicking on the link above, which takes you to Townhall.com.

Robert's appearance is on the Sept 19, show and it will remain in Itunes for several days, maybe a week or two. If you have a broadband connection, the podcast through Townhall.com is the easiest way to receive the show.

You can subscribe to the Michael Medved web site for $4.95 per month or $50/year.

https://www.michaelmedved.com/site

Subscribers can access the last 30 days of shows, free of commericals. I;ve listened to the show daily for over a year and it is excellent. I really appreciate his history shows. The last two history shows were "Myths about WWII" and "Why They Fight, a history of Israel and the MIddle East"

Here is the link for iTunes. Just paste this link into iTunes and you should be subscribed to the Medved show. Medved posts about 3/4 of all shows to iTunes.

I heard the third hour. Glad that we had sensible callers this time, particularly the last - JD from San Diego, who raised the issue of taqiyya. Don't know what Medved was thinking - a Muslim spokesperson expected to admit that his 'faith' allows deception? LOL.

I too had podcast issues and went to the direct
archive for re-broadcasts , the show was great.

Robert helped expose the typical Denial and Paranoia by self-professed "Good" muslims that resort to circular logic and then brush off the
debate with the vague claim of ignorance and how they won't respond to bigotted claims.
This show had many of standard ruses to cite the Islamic leaders that backed the Friendly-Islam
being pawned-off in the West , and since 9/11 I accepted they claim that I was un-informed about the Peaceful teachings of Islam and the 19 Hijackers had nothing to do with Islam .
But, I went to Middle East websites for their version of the faith that should be more credible
than CAIR's sterilized English Qurans they have to give away to get people to read them , so it's too late for people like Jeff to take me for a fool .

Basically I boiled down the 72 minutes of non-commercials to a few points about Islam , one is the defense of violence by external examples to show how Islam has murdered less people than those other faiths claiming to speak for God , and the overt paradoxical-irony of attesting to the Holiness and accuracy of the Quran in the Arabic form ,but then insult the Muslims that
cite that same Quran if they conflict with their perception of reality for the Quran's context (This is like denying you robbed a bank until you're arrested on suspicion of Murder based on a witness that saw a look-alike do it but believed you were still the killer from their memory of their face and appearence, but then you tell the Police to look again at the Bank security video to prove I was the bandit and couldn't have murdered that person at the same time when the killing was at least one hour away by the quickest travel method. You can't show one Judge the Bank video as evidence for not being the killer and then at your other trial you tell that Judge the Bank video doesn't prove it was you that robbed it , and this is how the Quran gets used like the Bank video, the Muslim Guest on the radio asserts it as absolute Truth to defend the stance on innocence for Muhammad not being the robber but when another Muslim has evidence that Muhammed
was the robber not only is he labelled a liar but the proof for the lie is argued by saying Muhammad was the killer and couldn't have sinned by robbing the Bank. A bit confusing but as a kid I lied about the cigarette smell on my clothes as being from the Poolhall down the street, except kids weren't allowed in because of the 16 age limit from the smoking law to be 16 also , this made me balance the other version of the Truth where I was really at the railyard with friends after we lied to buying smokes for my Dad , now can you see the paradoxical-irony for my crime , I can't use the Poolhall and buying smokes under age to be evidences to clear me of a wrong, and Muslims can't claim Muhammad practised Peace and never killed anyone while proving his Justice and Peace by the murders he did to protect his Peace by killing any perceived enemy of Allah and Islam.) .
The final point from the show is the self admission by Jeff that he's not a expert on the Quran , but basis his faith in it by the fact that it exists and ergo...must be the truth ,but as Robert pointed out , if nobody is a true expert of fully undestands the complex meanings
from re-told stories, then this proves a Denial by Muslims when they dismiss Robert's citing by the most respected experts.
This tells me that 1.2 billion people can only speak for themselves and not riot and kill from a collective guilt when non-Muslims are accused
of ignorance and not understanding the Quran.

How can you tell when a Muslim is losing a debate?......they can you a bigot .
I thought Robert remained calm and Jeff
became overly sensitive and then defensive and rude during the final 30% of the show, and Jeff was very insulting to callers while also answering question the callers never asked.

Touche MR.S

Siddiqui worked hard at seeming all sweetness and light but such references as his one to the need for a garbage truck to take away the all the stuff with which Robert was coming up, showed that he was having some problms with maintaining the act. I thought his assertion that islamic societies are undemocratic because of western foreign policy during the cold war was particulrly funny.

Very good. This is worth listening to. The URLs are above

Mr. Spencer:

Bravo!
I listened to the debate on Medved and it inspired me to donate $20 to Jihad Watch.(Don't spend it all in one place.) Muslims need to be confronted by non-Muslims or they won't feel the need to change. That guy Siddiqi thinks the problems in the Muslim world can be explained by colonialism and the Cold War. He needs to be forced to look deeper. Still, I appreciate his efforts to remain civil throughout.

How about this for a T-shirt:

Appeasement is Futile-
You will be Decapitated

Thank you for your efforts in combatting jihad.
