This is the kind of thing we need to see much more often. Nasir Abbas doesn't deal, at least here, with the distinction that many mujahedin make, that their victims are not "innocent," but if he can convince Muslims that the jihadist interpretation of Islam is wrong, more power to him. He should do us the favor of explaining how he does it so that others can replicate his success, since an Islamic case against violent jihad is the great unicorn of the post-9/11 world. No one has ever actually seen it, although many are certain it exists and wax quite wroth if anyone suggests it doesn't.

Nasir Abbas explains why, after men he trained carried out the Bali bombing in 2002, he decided to change sides.For many years Nasir Abbas was one of the most wanted jihadis in South East Asia.
He was a member of al-Qaeda's regional affiliate, Jemaah Islamiya (JI).
The Malaysian trained the Bali bombers in Afghanistan, established a jihadi training camp - Camp Hudabiya - in the dense jungles of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, and rose to become the head of JI's military training division, known as Mantiki Three.
He was close to some of the most notorious militants in the region and brother-in-law of Mukhlas, the mastermind of the 2002 Bali bombings.
Those he trained and those he knew went on to operate not just in South East Asia, but in other parts of the world.

According to Mr Abbas' philosophy of jihad, it is acceptable to fight and kill foreign forces occupying Muslim countries like the Soviets in Afghanistan, the Americans in Iraq or the Philippine army occupying ancestral Muslim lands in Mindanao, but killing innocent civilians - men, women and children - is forbidden.This is the philosophy of modern violent jihad outlined by Palestinian Abdullah Azzam, acknowledged to be the "father" of modern violent jihad.
With this distinction in mind, the 2002 Bali bombings in which 202 civilians died, made Mr Abbas think again about the organisation to which he had belonged for almost a decade.
When he discovered that his former students, whom he had trained in Afghanistan in the early 1990s, were responsible, he was deeply shocked.
"I feel sorry, I feel sin," he said, "because they used the knowledge to kill civilians, to kill innocent people."
It was only when he was arrested six months later in April 2003, that Mr Abbas finally decided to put his past behind him.

From that point on, Mr Abbas tried to persuade his former comrades that their interpretation of the Koran was wrong.
He urges them to "return to the right path of Islamic teaching."
But he did much more than that.
He actively assisted the police in tracking down and arresting some of his former comrades and felt no guilt in doing so.

Good to see some signs of proper actions. I would like to know how far it goes, like how would he feel about Israel's right to have life and country? That would help target his true fealings.
I hope a new trend is emerging. I have seen several stories of Muslims admitting flaws in Islam. I cannot tell if it is a sham or not, but it is promising.Maybe their is hope that Muslims can see beyond their nose. We can pray.

Herein lies the problem with Mohammedanism. It is whatever the individual wants it to be -- peaceful submission to Allah or violence against infidels. It is prevalent in the legendary, but relatively tiny Sulu Archepilago, (the utmost Phil.south),evenly legendary Basilan island (not big), and only the south facing Celebes Sea shores and hills of Mindanao (which is huge)along the "Moro Golf", Zamboanga City - Cotabato City- Davao City...

To very many Muslims simply being an unbeliever is guilt, hence dhuimmitude, or if no jizya is paid, it's OK to kill the unbeliever. God ordered it. No one is an "innocent civilian" if they have been invited to accept Islam and said, "No, thanks". To be a true Muslim is to believe that the Koran is the exact word of God as taken in dictation by Mohammad via Gabriel. God says if the unbeliever doesn't accept Islam it is the obligation of the Muslim to kill the person or make them pay a tax and feel subdued by Muslims. That's true Islam. To say otherwise is deception.

A caller on the Rush Limbaugh talk show said she is a shite muslim and the religion does not condone the killing of innocents and she doesn't know where the taliban and other extremists get the idea that it does. Why doesn't he call her on that? He and other talk show people never use the quotes. Surely the muslim callers recognize these quotes by now. Surely they have researched the verse numbers to verify them. Why haven't the talk show people got the verses in front of them?
It's always the same babble. Why haven't they gotten the correct answer ready.
He needs to be informed. Why isn't he. It's been five years.

In a meeting with the leaders of Iran, when one of them asked Aitolla Frank about killing "innocent civilians", the Aitolla Frank said: "No problem. Ahmadinejad will invite Bush and America to convert to Islam. If they don't convert, God says it's OK to kill them. Don't worry about any "innocent civilian" bystanders. We did the formula and there are no "innocent civilians". So you guys kill with a clean conscience. You're following God's command. If anyone asks any questions we'll just tell them it's forbidden in Islam to kill innocent civilians, that it's not "true Islam" to kill innocent civilians."

It's sort of like President Bill Clinton wagging his finger and saying, "I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." In his mind he is telling the truth because he does not consider a BJ sex. The principle with "innocent civilians" is the same with true Muslims such as Ahmadinejad.

More disturbing details are coming in on the carjacking by a Muslim Arab male, yesterday evening, at Detroit Metro Airport.
As we wrote earlier today, law enforcement sources told DebbieSchlussel.com that the man--an Arab male--carjacked a cab at the airport and drove it down I-94 freeway until he was finally caught near Willow Run airport a few miles away. He had to be tazed by law enforcement in order to be subdued.
Now, law enforcement sources have shared more disturbing information with DebbieSchlussel.com, indicating that this could have been a dry run for a car bomb plot.
The law enforcement sources say the carjacker, named Mohammed, drove to Detroit Metro Airport, yesterday, leaving his car parked (illegally) in front of the McNamara terminal (the main terminal at Detroit Metro), where pick-ups and drop-offs take place. He left the car there, then ran to the cab area in the nearby parking structure, carjacking the cab.
Although authorities found no explosive materials in the illegally parked car, it appears this could have been a dry run to see how long a car could remain unoccupied in front of many people walking in and out of the airport. Why else would a man in the Detroit area drive a car to the airport, park it illegally in front of the airport terminal, and carjack a cab to get away immediately afterward?
This past weekend, as our nation observed the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, President Bush's homeland security advisor, Fran Townsend, claimed that since 9/11, the Bush Administration has established complete security "from curb to cockpit." Not the case.
In fact, there has never been security from the curb to the security checkpoints inside airports, and several officials have long complained (to deaf airs) that a terrorist could easily get inside any airport and blow it up at any point until the TSA security checkpoints. They argued that checkpoints should begin outside of airport entry points.
This incident shows that their concerns are valid.

Had this woman (probably a Hezbollah supporter - see Debbie Schlussel's expose of what she discovered at Dearborn's Shia mosques during the recent Hezbollah-Israel war), instead of deceitfully declaring that the koran is a peaceful book, admitted forthrighly that the koran not only contains many martial, intolerant verses and chapters obliging believers to fight the infidel, but also other, more conciliatory and lyrical passages as well (for simplicity's sake, let's ignore the fact that such passages have been abrogated) -passages to which modern Muslims living in a secular and pluralistic society should give greatest emphasis - I would be less likely to brand her as a liar, whose motive was to intentionally deceive non-Muslims about what the Koran (and Islam, as it is rightfully, classically understood) actually teaches. But she is clearly a liar, and, by engaging in taqiyya, she is waging jihad, following Muhammed's declaration that war is deception.
I think he got caught and "changed sides" in an attempt to lower his sentience. He is just another coward who cries when he is caught, nothing more.

If it says not to kill innocents, I would like to see the verse. I thought I had read it somewhere once but I've seen it said so many times that now I am not sure if it was a real verse or just being repeated over and over.
