Anti-dhimmitude from Andy McCarthy at The Corner, as he skewers the Rosie-O'Donnell-Moral-Equivalence crowd:
Madd Drudge reports that, to pump up its sweeps-week ratings, NBC will air a Madonna concert in which the, er, maturing pop-diva will spoof ... the Crucifixion. [Hat tip: Steve Malzberg, sitting in today for Bill Bennett at Morning in America.]Apparently, the show features, "Madonna, wearing a gittered [sic] crown of thorns, descend[ing] on a suspended mirrored, disco ball-type cross[,] singing her hit 'Live To Tell.'"
An NBC exec explained: "We viewed it and didn't see it as being inappropriate." Besides, the artist herself "considered the crucifixion a highlight of her show."
No word yet on any riotings, torchings, shootings, bombings, beheadings or other executions. But you know, with these rascals, it's just a matter of time.
Also, no word yet on whether NBC has considered airing "Submission," a film about the mistreatment of Islamic women. It hasn't been shown yet. You see, it's Dutch director, Theo van Gogh, was brutally murdered in 2004 by a not-so-moderate you-know-what named Mohammed Bouyeri, who pinned the corpse with a note calling for "jihad." (I hasten to add, of course, that, according to Muslim activists now providing sensitivity training to our federal agents, jihad is the peaceful "internal struggle against sin," not, God forbid, "holy war.")
This is just the same dreary old ageing pop star......why doesn't she set her children alight on-stage, or have live-sex with a dog ? I mean anything goes for the gimmick-ridden world of the boringly hyped-up pop stars of the mediocre present.
The sick irony of it all is that NBC would promote a mockery of the greatest event in history – Christ’s supreme sacrifice – by the always and ever resourceful, gimmicky Madonna – and yet does not have the guts to air something like ‘Submission’ that truthfully portrays a portion of the darker effects of a violent ‘religion’ – Islam. How tragic that the “Torch of Freedom” - America - has sunk to such a depraved state as to allow NBC to extol such voyeurism as Madonna fondling a cross! How disgusting! I will be writing NBC over this sick nonsense and hope that others will also.
Some things in life are so sick, that we should not even give them attention...
It's precisely this kind of cynical decadence displayed by Madonna and many others like her that present to the Islamists an image of the West as irremediably corrupt and weak, rather like the self-destructive rotten- on- the- inside Roman Empire. So therefore, fair and easy game for a reverse crusade. They see we have no respect or reverence for our own traditions, spiritual heritage and values and indeed they are right. This self-defeating mass dumbing-down is aiding the Jihadists against us and unless we retrieve a sense of collective worth and true culture then we are doomed.
God, I hated that trollop from day 1, she's more of a fashion trend setter than a musician. But it's great that almost everyone here in the US is civilized enough to do no more than whine about her. Note to conservatives and other people who suffer the oppression of being criticized or mocked: threaten and carry out violence and you can get the networks to can the "Sound of Music"
Many of our problems in dealing with islam in the west, are due to the influence of the Left over the media, whether it be news media, or entertainment media, the legal profession, and by extension, the politicians.
This is why I have always called for the emasculation of the Left in order to win this war on islam. I started to see the nexus between the Left and our enemies when I was a young man back in the early '80s.
AS important than fighting islam abroad, is to fight the Left at home. For it is the Left that enables islam to attack us from within.
I issue a fatwa against the Left. In the media, in the entertainment world, in the legal ranks, in the political classes. Don't buy their CDs, see their movies, watch their shows.
Madonna gets some attention (read $$$) for this stunt, but everyone now knows that the real artistic bravery today involves criticism of Islam. Madonna told us a long time ago what her values were (read $$$). Her decision not to criticize Islam is probably partly financial--no need to pay the huge amounts of $$$ for the huge amounts of security that would be necessary if she did criticize Islam in her show. In addition, she does not have to pay for the $$$ to fight the inevitable Saudi-funded lawsuits against her if she did criticize Islam.
I have only one request for the material girl: Take your cross stunt to Saudi Arabia and see what happens.
...here's what I'm getting at (and, just to be clear, I do not wish this upon Madonna):
5:33. “The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.”
The Saudis interpret "mischief" and "war against Allah" to include non-violent offences, including blasphemy (they consider anti-Islamic or anti-Mohammad words and expressions to be included under the category of war against Allah). They don't allow crosses to be displayed, except when they are crucifying people in accordance with 5:33 (also see Sudan). Madonna's cross act could take on a whole new meaning in Saudi Arabia.
NBC and Madonna will get alot more publicity and viewers, if she does it on a Crescent Moon.

If she actually did, I believe they would be pleased with her altogether disgusting act.
OT
Discusssion, with interview of Ibrahim Cooper, is on WMAL 630 in Washington, DC is from 9-10 am EST. They will be discussing the report released yesterday about the alleged discrimination against Muslims.
If she actually did, I believe they would be pleased with her altogether disgusting act.
a real role-model for Saudi women............
And there it is:
"I'm so mad about Madonna's show, that I will go to the computer and WRITE HER A LETTER!"
No calls for death, and certainly no believability if there were. A few insults relating to her age, her hypocrisy, her greed. Understandable. No threats.
There, ladies and gentlemen and gentle readers, is the rub.
Prophet Geoff
I had no idea that this washed-up has-been from the way back in the 1980s was even still making music.
Good on her.
Too bad she has to resort to "shock" tactics that are unfortunately so worn-out as to have no artistic or creative value whatsoever.

Yes, probably so as the Palestinian woman were as they joyously ooh-layted after the collapse of the twin towers on 9/11.
Another reason we Christians should be outraged, angered, and going out and shooting people. NBC (surprised?)aired the pilot for this new show last night, with some great Christian Bashing. This article was posted last week when the preview was released.
Bozell: NBC's 'Studio 60' Debuts With Christian-Bashing Plot, Just Like 'The West Wing'

In his culture column this week, Brent Bozell offers a preview of next Tuesday's premiere of NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." (The premiere, on DVD, was available from Netflix.) Why critique it? The first plot of this "Saturday Night Live"-derived show from "West Wing" producer-writer Aaron Sorkin centers around a canceled skit entitled "Crazy Christians," which apparently was a laugh riot:
When his skit is axed, the outraged fictional "SNL" producer bounds onto the stage and unleashes a lecture on live television. It’s what Sorkin has probably wanted to say about network executives (and their alleged overreaction to those crazy Christians) many times. "The two things that make them scared gutless are the FCC and every psycho religious cult that gets positively horny at the very mention of a boycott." Sorkin was so impressed with his own insult that it reruns later in the show in fictional news clips.
Two major characters fight over how their romance broke up when the woman sang hymns on "The 700 Club." Again, Sorkin aims low, [with Matthew Perry's character] insisting Pat Robertson is a vicious racist. "You put on a dress and sang for a bigot." When the woman replies that the faithful audience of the show inspires her, he cracks, "Throw in the Halloween costumes and you got yourself a Klan rally."
Sorkin actually pushed a similar plot for the first episode of "The West Wing," in which lovable liberal President Josiah Bartlet instructed a clueless, caricatured Christian evangelist who didn’t know the order of the Ten Commandments and then unloaded a long sermon on vicious Christian pro-lifers threatening his 12-year-old granddaughter. He told the conservative Christians to get their fat (bottoms) out of his White House.
Maybe cursing out the Christians is his show-opening good luck charm.
This is sad from Sorkin, who Brent reports has declared his belief that "spirituality" that doesn’t have to come from a "divine source," and who says that the world’s religions are just a collection of "many fairy tales" that don’t have the happy endings intended. Instead, Hollywood people like Sorkin find their inspiration in hallucinogenic mushrooms and crack cocaine.

If Madonna wanted to really make a statement and had any real guts, ... she'd pull a Sinead O'Connor type thing.
Get some of those nifty "Moo-ham-it" cartoons from Denmark,... hold them up... spit on them, then tear them in two and declare her own popidol fatwa - "Fight the REAL enemy - Islam".
