Here is a simple, direct, clear, and unflinchingly honest introductory text for those who will not believe, and cannot believe, that the Islamic jihad is either deeply rooted within Islam or poses any serious threat to non-Muslims. In Religion of Peace?, Gregory M. Davis, coproducer of the documentary Islam: What the West Needs to Know, has provided in one volume of reasonable proportions the relevant extracts from the Qur'an, the Hadith, the Sira (the biography of Muhammad), Islamic jurisprudence, plus evidence that contemporary jihadists read this material and take it very seriously indeed. All this along with a history of jihad warfare and a trenchant analysis of the defects of today's politically correct public discourse, in which even world leaders peddle soothing falsehoods instead of formulating ways to defend Western civilization and the non-Muslim world as a whole against the jihadists who would convert or subjugate us all.
Here are some of the endorsements the book has received, mine among them:
"A fascinating thesis." - William F. Buckley Jr. Founder, National Review
"A valuable, well-argued contribution to the public understanding of Islam...it manages to convey in a short space what the West needs to know about Islam: that its violent aspects are not the result of deviance but of orthodoxy." - Robert Spencer, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and The Crusades)
"A very important work at a very important time. Anyone interested in understanding the growing violence on the world scene today must read this book. Its message for America and the West is, `Wake up before it's too late.'" - Gary Bauer, President, American Values
"This book provides a timely reality check to those still inclined to believe in the dichotomy between a "real" Islam and its allegedly aberrant violent fringe. That delusion costs lives and threatens the very existence of those affected by it. The refusal of the elite class to open its eyes to reality and protect Western nations from the threat is the biggest betrayal in history. It reflects a problem of cultural and spiritual decay that is the synthesis of all others." - Serge Trifkovic, The Sword of the Prophet and Defeating Jihad

hopefully our politicians will get to read this book and get good education. there is another saying, you lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink it. aka one of my libeal snob brothers and sister, l keep sending them web site, try to engage in a dialogue, but l think being quite a younger sibling, l am not supposed to be smarter than they are...
The cover says it all. What a hateful bunch of brainwashed idiots.
Having seen Islam: What the West Needs to Know, I'm sure this book would be quite accurate. I do hope that it's successful.
Speaking of the video, I received and watched it last weekend. While the others came out well, I was somewhat underwhelmed by Abdullah al Araby. Also, the connection between the public pronouncements that came at the beginning of every section, and the commentary that followed, was rarely clear; similarly, the link between a presentation and the video clip, such as a Baghdad imam exhorting Iraqis to Jihad just before the Iraqi invasion wasn't clear at all. It might have been better if the video had a presenter/narrator asking the commentators the questions about the clips just shown.
I watched Robert on the 700 club interview. Cool, calm, collected, and loaded with facts and the sometimes shocking means to back it up. I am sure that I am among the maybe, um, 5 percent of Americans that viewed it. On and off, I have watched the 700 club since I was a little lad, and have never been as impacted from viewing it, until Robert's stunningly honest interview. I want all of Spencer's books!
I hope William F. Buckley's "fascination" turns into Hugh's "lucubration".
A better title would be "Cult of Death: How Muslims Want To Kill You and Everyone Else". Send copies to those brain dead idiots in Washington. Maybe someone will finally get a clue (by accident, no doubt).
This is fine, but I am so frustrated that the favorable Amazon reviewers are, once again, all CONSERVATIVE. It is vitally important that moderates like myself, and even liberals, understand this too. It actually hurts the cause of truth and freedom that only the vociferous, knuckle-dragging conservatives seem to get it! (Please take perceived insults with a grain of salt!)
By the way, this is NOT a fight between Islam and Christianity, as some yahoos here think, but between Islam and SECULAR LIBERAL DEMOCRACY. That's right! As in 'secular humanism'!
I've ordered this book, as well as Spencer's latest, from amazon.com.
In addition to all these books on Islam, we need what I have called "an Infidel's Enchiridion", which I define as:
"A handy arsenal with ready-made, compact, streamlined ammunition to be fit into the guns of our ordinary interactions with the plethora of sugarcoaters and whitewashers of Islam we jihadwatchers encounter on a near daily basis in one form or another."
From Spencer's characterization of Davis's book, it could fit the bill. But by fitting the bill, it wouldn't merely be an "introduction": it would provide all that most people need in their daily dealings with the Problem of Islam. I look forward to reading it to see if it indeed does fit the bill.
The vast majority of concerned Infidels out there do not really need anything more in their personal, familial and community fights in the larger War of Ideas. The bewilderingly luxuriant mountain of literature out there -- growing daily -- about Islam is, for most of us who don't have an Orientalist interest, overkill.
For more on my analysis of this, see:

And here is a reality check for the West from a demographics standpoint.

Another one to add to my Amazon Wish List. (I had not heard of this one, so I appreciate the heads up.)
And wow, just reading the first paragraph should be an eye opener to anyone who picks it up! These few sentences clearly state what we're dealing with. If people would just read it and think about it for five seconds and see how it fits in with the events we see happening in the world each day!

*raises her hand* :)
This is what is in store for South Africa. I don't think anyone in power here knows whats coming. I am fearful for the future. How can the government have been so naive and gullible?

I am a "moderate," or what would probably be called a liberal in the U.S.... the term has a different meaning in Canada. Mushy-headed but well-meaning people who find it hard to take a strong stand on anything tend to be called "small-l liberals" here. And then we have the Liberal Party, which is in many ways far from the typical American idea of "liberal." (as in further to the right.) I am conservative in some ways too, but definitely small-c. I confess to finding the highly polarized American language of liberal vs. conservative hard to understand. Many so-called conservatives, like Ann Coulter, seem so far from "conservative" to me it makes the head spin.
Anyway, I agree that people like us have to start being more courageous and vocal. Our enemy's enemy is still our enemy. We can't allow this struggle to become hijacked by religious extremists of any stripe.
Conservative or not, Islam is attacking the rights of everyone in this world regardless of religion or political associations. Islam attacks all that is not Islam. So cry for me Argentina. It is Islam against the world, not Neo-Cons versus Libs you dope! Read some Quran, and realize they do not give a damn where you came from, who you are, or what you believe in, they want to shove Islam and Shitria down your throught. Comprende!
