Another illustration of the impossibility of distinguishing a jihadist from a peaceful Muslim -- particularly when the proper probing questions aren't even being asked. And with the Western anxiety to win hearts and minds by employing Iraqis, they aren't. By Qassim Abdul-Zahra for Associated Press:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Authorities arrested the head of the mess hall where at least 350 Iraqi policemen suffered food poisoning, and a military spokesman said Monday that it was likely the poisoning was intentional.Brig. Qassim al-Moussawi, a senior spokesman for the Iraqi military, denied that anyone had died after Sunday's evening meal breaking the daily Ramadan fast.
On Sunday night, an official in the Environment Ministry, Jassim al-Atwan, said 11 policemen had died. Wasit provincial Gov. Hamad al-Latif said "hundreds of soldiers were poisoned" at the police base in Numaniyah, but nobody had died.
Al-Moussawi put the number of poisoned policemen at 350 to 400, but said only four victims were hospitalized.
"A number of people have been arrested, including the man in charge of the mess hall," al-Moussawi said.
He said investigators were pursuing two theories — the first that spoiled food was used in the meal, perhaps as part of a corruption scheme by the contractors or officers at the base to skim off funds for the food. But al-Moussawi said that possibility was "less likely."
The stronger possibility, he said, is that it was "intentional sabotage."
Al-Latif said the base's food and water are supplied by an Australian contractor working through Iraqi subcontractors. He did not identify the Australian company. The food is prepared elsewhere and brought to the base.
Maybe the head of the mess hall was a zionist-crusader. Surely this wasn't the work of a peaceful muzlim? On Ramadam, no less?
Nah.
Yup-gotta watch those sneaky Australians. Next thing you know they'll be driving truck bombs.
Of course a good Muslim wouldn't do such things, now would they?
Who cares. Those Iraqi policemen were probably on the take anyway, corrupt as can be. Generally, policemen anywhere in the muslim world are corrupt. They are not like policemen here. In the muslim world, the police are the ones doing the robbing, the raping, the extorting, the murder. And in Iraq, a policemen is just another word for a jihadist that that moonlights for extra money on the side.
Indeed, policemen anywhere in the non-western world are generally corrupt, except in Japan.
Question #1: Was this Lewisite or some other type of recognized chemical or biological warfare agent (i.e. WMD)? It probably was if the reports of people bleeding from their heads were accurate.
Question #2: If so, was the WMD in place before the war began or was it brought in afterwards? If the latter, who brought it in?
This could be a very big story. ‘Food poisoning’ doesn’t make people’s heads bleed.
OT: Cartoon Jihad II in Denmark. You can see the youtube links to the silly Danish cartoons which Rasmussen described as 'tasteless' here
An improvement over beheadings and car bombs. Maybe the police there should really fast during Ramadan, instead of re-defining their day.
Re: Arrest made in Iraq food poisoning case
Judas was the kind of guy that would have food poisoned Jesus and the 12 Apostles at the last supper. Just imagine Peter accusing Judas of deception, of pretending to be a friend of the 12 Apostles, Peter saying, "War is deception-right, Judas? Someday there will be a Muslim SOB doing just what you do and calling it "religion". We need more people like you, Judas-then we will be even more f***ed up then we are now. In the future, what you do Judas, will be called being part of the the umma and Jihad. Mohammad should be your prophet, Judas."
Mohammad and Judas have a lot in common and the consequences of their belief-systems are similar. Maybe Mohammad is a descendant of Judas.
The food poisoner wasn't a follower of Jesus-that's for sure and he did the kind of deed that Mohammad or Judas would do.
Judas would be a Jihadist. Bet on it.
It's just a strech and an opinion based on these jihadi maggot's behavior, but i hope the rash of food recalls in the U.S. are not associated with a new trening M.O.
Nobody blamed the Joooozzzz yet???
"...the base's food and water are supplied by an Australian contractor working through Iraqi subcontractors. He did not identify the Australian company. The food is prepared elsewhere and brought to the base."
Between bribes and security measures and the impossibilities of transportation etc etc those meals for Iraqi policemen probably cost $30-40 a piece. I am NOT joking.
Three hour road trips to monitor a construction job in the country can cost over $1,500 of YOUR money. For security, bribes etc.
Our trillions go for oil and now hundreds of billions for 'bringing democracy' etc. etc.
The corruption, the waste is revolting, sickening and for what? The enemy easily worms into key positions to sabotage us.
Attention Freemen/Women,
The recent poisonings all over the world are not unrelated. It is time we realize they are attacking us from within. The only thing I am surprised about is that it took them so long to figure out how easy it is. Be careful who you do business with from here on out. They are ratcheting up the jihad, they can’t control themselves. Keep goading, it is risky but worth it in the end.
tgusa,
I believe you are right, no more preprepared food for me.
The corruption, the waste is revolting, sickening and for what?
It is because our leader is not reacting to the reality on the ground.
In many Middle Eastern countries, poverty is deep and it is spreading, women lack rights and are denied schooling. Whole societies remain stagnant while the world moves ahead. These are not the failures of a culture or a religion. These are the failures of political and economic doctrines. -GWB
Wrong. These failures are clearly expressed in the Qu'ran. And they are deeply rooted in the culture that has developed around its teachings. And the nations that are left in the Qu'ran's wake are hopelessly behind the power curve. No amount of coddling will change this reality.
Sometimes the people have to lead the leader. Our President is so emotionally and personally invested in his view of the world, that us working stiffs end up paying $1500 per inspector visit. The policy is fatally flawed. Its depressing.
Hope remains eternal that the lessons the people have learned are not lost on the Executive branch. We'll know in five weeks.
That’s right km,
And some will call me insane but I think the Anti American Illegal Gang who are too stupid to know better are involved. There I said it. Now go ahead and attack me for being a racist. If I am anyone's idea of a racist we are in big trouble!
That brings back memories of Ga-uss (Iraqi Shawrma)induced food poisoning. All of the guys caught a bad case of it. It is the worst case of the sh*ts that you can imagine. I was so weak; I had a hard time walking to the outhouse. One of the guys was so sick, he was placed on IVs.
The thing is that the street food the average Iraqi eats. Thank God there were no Americans eating in that hell hole of a mess hall.
I should have wrote Reconquista,
Heard of them? The brown Nazis?
Beware it may tend to make your blood boil.

Over my dead body.
I read victims were bleeding from their nose and ears. It had to have been poison or some sort of biological or chemical agent. I also read the base was named after a Shiite, which would hold the Sunni's responsible for this particular act in their civil war.
Another good, but unrelated "Reconquista" link has some very telling graphs created by blog author Sir Henry Morgan. The graphs examine coordinated/escalating trends regarding global jihad - worth a look/see.

Wake up people, it is all related! Damn, do I have to draw you a picture!
I guess it is up to the decendants of the Revolution to get you people off your ass. Do you love your country? Then stand up and rally behind it or get out! That’s right, Get Out! And fast before the patriots get hold of you. It is time to decide who you are with, us or them?
No, tgusa, you don't have to draw me a picture.
But you can sing me a river...
SCV,
What is that suppose to mean? Explain if you can. I doubt you can. You would not be interested in an honest debate would you? Naw, I did’nt think so. You have to possess a brain for that.
SCV?
Do you not have any spine? Then fight back… Tell me all about your anti American dreams? I am listening. I desire to help you. Please let me.
Come on SCV cat got your tongue.
tgusa,
Some people will not even see reality when it is exploding in their faces.
For my 2c, I find a lot of the time that people would just rather stay in the dark than face the unpleasent realities of world wide religious war, it is just nicer to think about gadgets and other fun stuff. Or if they are aware about it they self-flagellate themselves into believing its all [insert moonbat conspiracy here] fault and that if we would just sit down and sing Kum by ah with Muslims they will leave us alone.
This bleeding from the eyes and ears sounds like ebola virus. It would not act to produce these symptom immediately, however. I can't determine the time frame from the news reports.
One report suggests cyanide, but that does not cause bleeding from the eyes and ears.
Lewisite is a blistering agent that might cause these symptoms. It would not need to be ingested.
Yes,
Doesn’t it fully suck that everybody is forcing their religion on others? I believe in God but not to force it on anyone. But these assholes that want to force it on everyone. I have had enough of this crap. How about you?
Ebola.
A hideous virus from unknown origins(Africa) destroys your organs, turns them into blood. It is not in the USA that I know.
Alexandros, the report I read said that the first victims collapsed as they stood up after the meal, and many others collapsed as they walked to the exit door. So, it was pretty quick, just a few minutes after ingestion.
Of course, those reports also said that at least 11 people died, and now they say that no-one died, so who knows what to believe.
Below are the first paragraphs from an article (Remembering Lepanto) by Michael Novak, about the battle of Lepanto October 7, 1571:

Frank,
I never thought that I would come to the defence of Judas (Iscariot) but here goes. You make some speculative comparisons which include Judas wanting to do away with his master. There is no evidence to suggest that Judas held any animosity or a desire to usurp Jesus. Judas' life had a purpose and his love of worldly pleasures momentarily blinded him to the reality of his situation. His pilfering did not raise the suspicions of the other eleven Apostles. The same can not be said for Mohammed. Mohammed took depravity to new depths to satisfy his perverted lusts. He also incited his followers to do likewise.
After Judas had done the awful deed he was so filled with remorse he gave back the money and hanged himself. Mohammed reflecting back on his past conquests raped a girl.
How ironic today the name Mohammed is given to children as a badge of honour. The name Judas has long fallen from ubiquity.
Does anyone have more information on the following story. Is this more food Jihad, but in Canada this time?
