More evidence of support for the jihad in high places in modern, moderate Indonesia. From AP, with thanks to DFS:
Two Islamic militants jailed for the Bali bombings that killed 202 people were freed yesterday and nine others had their sentences reduced to mark the end of the Islamic fasting month, officials said.Indonesia traditionally cuts prison terms for inmates who exhibit good behavior on national holidays and the justice ministry said more than 43,000 convicts benefited this time.
But the decision to include convicted terrorists was likely to anger countries that lost citizens in the Oct. 12, 2002, attacks on two crowded nightclubs.
"After what I've survived, to see these people get rewarded ... it's something we Westerners just don't understand," said Australian Peter Hughes, who suffered burns over 54 percent of his body.
Yep.
As government's will not do anything about this it is down to individuals.
Have nothing to do with Indonesian goods or services and do not go on holiday there.
Don't fund the Jihad.....by one penny.
Indonesia traditionally cuts prison terms for inmates who exhibit good behavior on national holidays and the justice ministry said more than 43,000 convicts benefited this time.
What constitutes good behavior in this case? That this scum didn't blow up any more people while in prison? What a joke.
Memo to Aussies: You blokes have been doing good work of late in your own backyard regarding the Mohammedans. You probably are doing this already, but as the above story shows, stay out of Indonesia. Try Papua New Guinea, or Tahiti, or any of the thousands of islands that are there in the Pacific. A lot safer, a lot nicer and last but not least, a lot less Islamic.
Getting this done must be quite a relief to the Indonesian government. After all, on the one hand mass murdering tourists is bad for the tourism business, but on the other hand roughly 100% of the Indonesian people were overjoyed at the bombings.
So this is about right. And, in the meantime, the Clinton-Bush administration can continue throwing tax subsidies at corporations to relocate their factories to Indonesia.
So it's all good.

And kill them wherever you find and catch them. Drive them out from where they have turned you out; for Al-Fitnah (polytheism, disbelief, oppression) is worse than slaughter.

Amen.
Re: Bali bombing pair freed on early release
This belief-system, started by a guy hearing voices in a cave, is a mental illness. People that treat a belief-system as if it is a proved fact are delusional. This belief-system destroys the creative mind, so much so that a tiny country like Israel produces more new ideas in technology and science than all the Muslim world. The oil money in the Mideast funds a lot of the mental illness. It's time for alternative energy-an alternative to this delusion, allegedly dictated by God (word-for-word) to Muhammad.
Non Muslims have to get over the habitual respect taught re religious tolerance and fully realize the sick and intolerant nature of this belief-system. It is a collective mental illness. Many of its clerics belong in a straight-jacket. Eventually people are going to see this belief-system as a mental illness and treat this belief-system as a mental illness. It's only a matter of time before people see reality with regard to this belief-system.
I'm sure they are very well behaved. Polite, religious, exemplary young muslims, sticklers for religious purity and all who come in contact with them are impressed by their commitment, their unwavering certainty.
They walk with a dignity and reserve that makes the slouching sullen corrupted men around them (both prisoners and guards) ashamed of themselves. It is like a pure ancient light burning in the darkness. A Living Quran.
Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman when a teenager, went as an exchange student to mid 1930's Nazi Germany. He stayed with an ardently Nazi family in a picture-book smaller city. In his autobiography he conveys the sheer dynamic thrill for a young man of the camp-outs, parades, songs, uniforms. The feeling of rebirth, a return to nature, an escape from the decadence of the 'Jewish' big cities, the rot of 'corruption'. It was convincing on a GUT level, deeply insidious.
Your most 'moderate' Muslim respects these men on some level, secretly admires them for their purity and commitment.
Why are we waiting for these people to build up and get stronger when we know what their intentions are? Is it the arms corperations? Because they want tension and eventually a bigger war to develop and sell more arms?
Let's start a boycott Indonesia site. I dont think I buy anything from that country anyway, and Im CERTAINLY not going to now.
But here's a problem: many Indonesians Im sure a nice people. Am I unfairly penalising them by boycotting their products when its the few thousand fruitcakes in their government that cause most of the problems?
Not at all surprised on the release of these terrorists. The Indonesian government claims to be an ally in combating terrorism but tacitly supports islamists. This is typical of islamic double-speak.
The question is how will Australia respond?
this article may give some indication of the Mindset down under.. We should take our lead from them..
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.
Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament.
"If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on national television.
"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another, the Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said.
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country.
Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off.
Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off,(Leave)", he said
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."
"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by comingto Australia."
"However, there are a few thingsthat those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand"
"This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle."
"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom"
"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!"
"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."
"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."
"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.
"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."
"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here..You asked to be here. So accept the country.."
hmmm....
Remember: This is the same Indonesian government that recently EXECUTED an innocent Catholic despite a worldwide outcry for amnesty.
Yet the US and European nations will continue to let this sick Muslim regime feed on the foriegn aid teat. Outrageous!
Will they be getting a stipend to conduct workshops at Georgetown or will they end up working with CAIR as consultants on sensitivity training with the US military?
In Islam, human life has absolutely NO VALUE WHATSOVER (except as a bargaining chip and an object of torture to facilitate "submission" through force). So it should not come as a surprise to anyone that those who commit acts of brutality against the 'unbelievers' are rewarded for their behavior (as seen here).
To Muslims, which includes Indonesians unfortunately, there are no 'westerners' only unbelievers who must be destroyed by whatever means necessary.
al-Qaeda already stated that it intended to build a worldwide infrastructure with which to burn the world's 5 billion non-Muslims to death. That is what the Bali bombings were really about. That is Jakarta's role in world affairs is today--a handmaiden to Islamic terrorism and the resurgence of the Islamic caliphate.
Welcome to the real world where Islam has been permitted to wreak havoc for 14 centuries and counting. The bodies pile up, the perps run free and continue massacring in the name of Baal (Babylon and al-lat).
By the way, Islam, places no value on the earth either. Much of the world's illegal timber operations that are accelerating demise of the world's tropical rainforests at a spectacular rate is organized by mosques and carried out by hired gangs, the illicit timber is sold on the black market and the proceeds are funneled to al-Qaeda and their ilk. Illicit timber trafficking mimics illicit drug trafficking from Brazil to nrew Guinea (the CIA refers to Ousamah bin Laden as the world's leading drug lord).
Indonesia's illicit timber 'industry' is carried out by the Indonesian police forces (who have been witnesses training Middle Eastern terrorists in Indonesia)and by the(heavily Islamic)Indonesian Armed Forces (who in recent years have set up such terrorist organizations as Laskar Jihad to slaughter Christians). Although not to date proven, the capital earned from illegal logging is almost certainly being sent to global Islamic terrorism networks in a clandestine bid to restore the Islamic caliphate.
U can kill 202 humans and walk away but if you are caught with anounce of pot, u would be executed.
Indonesia is an Islamic country, right? Why we bother discussing this? Don't invest and buy in Indonesia. Lets starve these countries of our continuous monetary support. They can't last that long.
Isn't this just a form of Taqqiyya? Jail fellow Moslems when the westerners are upset then release them when the westerns seem placated and turn their back.
I imagine these types of events happen regularly in muslim-majority as well as in other east asian countries. It seems that Egypt, Algeria, Malaysia, Pakistan, Vietnam, the Phillipines, Laos, Burma and China all all susceptible to this type of corruption and I wouldn't put it past any of these countries to give the types of jail remissions like indonesia does.
By the way, does anyone know the situation with all the Bali bombers? To my knowledge, the three primary bombers were given the death penalty, four others were given life sentences and the 26 other participants were given sentences based on how much of a role they had in the bombings. Also, the prosecutors were looking to put Abu Bashir away for good, but didn't have access to a militant whose testimony would have put him away.
In general, it seems Indonesia's gov't members, police, and military have often been divided into two types, the "red", who are largely secular and often have a significant christian presence, and the "green", or islamisized. In areas like east java ancd Kalimantan the populace is still largely secular and determined to fight islamist terrorists. But tragically, the more subject indonesia becomes to arab cultural imperialism, the more the "green" units have prevailed, and the more indonesia risks becoming a full-blown islamic country, exactly like the Sudan or Saudi Arabia. This seems especially true in West jave, where the political elite are often sympathetic to islamic jihadists. Hopefully the "reds", the secularists and christians within indonesia, will be able to counter such a tragic influence, but certainly indoneszia needs to be under constant and extreme political and economic pressure until that ever does happen.
Furthermore, from what I've heard these remissions were standard and given to all types of criminals, as typical in indonesia and doubltessly in other muslim and Asian countries. I think even Western countries have at times provided remmissions for all sorts of vile, horrendus criminals, so, to be sure, for many countries, attacking indonesia for these remissions may be a case of how people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
That being said, I would still make a concerted effort not to vacation in or touch anything from Indonesia, any muslim-majority country or any east asian countries except Japan, South Korea and maybe Thailand. All these places, even those that are technically democracies, clearly have political and military elite who only understand conceptually losing their income. I doubt that anytime you buy anything from these countries the money goes to people who actually need it.
