Former CAIR official gets 7 years for Hamas connections

Ghassan Elashi was a founder of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, and was a member of the founding board of directors of the Texas branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

"US businessman gets 7 years for Hamas connections," from AP, with thanks to Mike:

A businessman was sentenced Thursday to nearly seven years in prison for having financial ties to a high-ranking terrorist and for making illegal computer exports to countries that support terrorism.

Ghassan Elashi was convicted during two separate trials on 27 counts, including conspiracy and money laundering.

Ex-CEO sentenced to 7 years in prison

DALLAS -- The former chief executive of a computer company was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in prison for conspiring to launder money in transactions with an official of the militant Palestinian group Hamas. Bayan Elashi and two of his brothers were convicted last year in federal district court of financial dealings with a terrorist. Prosecutors said the men tried to hide a $250,000 investment in their Richardson computer company by Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzook by making it look like his wife's money.

Texas is in the process of dewussifying!!

How hard could it be?

Malinois
Austin, Texas

Surprise, surprise. I'm watching the CAIR website to see if they will be posting some sort of rebuttal, a "misunderstanding" column, if you will. I don't anticipate anything coming soon.

I demand riots and burning of effigies of Danish, Jewish and American politicians, this is an outrage.

On second thought, it is the muslim holy day so I’m off for a pulled pork BBQ sandwich and a cold beer.

Texas is in the process of dewussifying!! How hard could it be?

Given the nature of a certain Big12 university located in Austin TX, I would say somewhere between extremely difficult and nearly impossible.

This is a little OT but very much related: What will be the first permanent encroachment by Sharia over the US Constitution? My guess is it will be in the form of a hate crime case put before the Supreme Court by the ACLU on behalf of a group deeply offended Moslem citizens. The Supremes have already given the nod to hate crimes, an insidious and patent violation of the Constitution, so by ruling for the ACLU-backed Moslems would only be natural.

The opinion behind the ruling would of course point out that equal protection would be provided by giving similar protection from criticism to other protected groups (i.e., other religions).

The fatal element to this opinion, of course, would be that the Catholics and Hindus and Lutherans and Buddhists would not be out there aggressively attacking American institutions and culture on a point-by-point basis. The Moslems will be, though.

Yo Naseem, found work yet? Your friends at CAIR are finding prison.

I will gladly raise a pork chop, grilled with a good char rub, and a cold beer.

Good willing, of course.

Can a good Muslim be a good American?

This question was addressed by one who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. Here is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon God of Arabia .

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Qu ran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Qu ran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America , the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Qu ran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American
Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran.

Therefore after much study and deliberation, perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans.

Call it what you wish. It's still the truth. You had better believe it.

HA. HA. HA. HA. HA.

"Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt."

The US Constitution is not solely based on Biblical principles; it is also based on secular Enlightenment principles and non-Christian principles of Greek and Roman Antiquity. The latter two influences on the US Constitution are also rejected by Muslims since they derive, according to Muslims, from Jewish Masonic liberalism, and paganism, respectively.

Remote control:

I fully agree that the 'golden rule' should apply for any society.
However, I don't deny that western society, not only the US, is founded on Judeo-christian principles.

'Thou shalt not kill/murder & thou shalt not bear false witness' are the most essential part of that.

Compare that with Koran 'commandments' that urge the believers to hate and kill all unbelievers and to whack the world into submission to the moon-god!

I've just been reading about the astonishing response of the Amish community to the killing of their daughters. I am really convicted by their forgiveness of the killer, their compassion for his family, and their lack of expectation for outside sources to compensate them for the loss. I don't act like this often enough. Imagine if every community (including the community who is the focus of this site) acted this way to real (and imagined) wrongs . . .

The US Constitution is not solely based on Biblical principles; it is also based on secular Enlightenment principles and non-Christian principles of Greek and Roman Antiquity.

Don't forget that les Philosophes writing during the age of Englightenment during the 18th century. Voltaire, Locke, Diderot, Rousseau, Paine, Kant --- all these and others laid the ideological and philosophical foundation that made the US Constitution even conceivable, much less possible.

Good post, Sheik. Except for this:

... perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country.

Perhaps?!

And, since I was first exposed to them at the university, mainly to Pakis (your oiliest and most virulent strain of Moslem) I've been deeply suspicious of all of them.

Another floater is flushed. Now he's off to see the wizard and will receive three hots, a cot, and a Qur'an......Any word on this story at the CAIR site?

Re: Former CAIR official gets 7 years for Hamas connections

So many of these guys are very privileged people. They come to America, do very well (often with seed money from their wealthy relatives in the Mideast) and they have no judgement. Amazing.

I wonder when the alpha dogma Ibrahim Hooper and the other dogma phonies at CAIR will be indicted. They will all be barking and howling in the court on that day. CAIR is a front group.

So will Ghassan Elashi get to attend the Iftaar dinner from his cell to celebrate the 'benevolence in the heart of Islam' supporting blood-thirsty barbarians eh Condi?

Yes, and they will all take their place in the Opium den, and fund more Heroine to be spread throughout the world. I mean come on, what else do they have to offer?

There's more prosecutions against CAIR's terrorists coming. I can smell the prosecutorial cases downwind already.

It doesn't take a clairvoyant to know that CAIR is TERROR.

Goody goody goody.

I had to laugh at your post , Frank . SO TRUE .

The opportunities , privelage , preferential treatment , the chance for advancement.....

and all they can do is incite murder , etc.....

Come on , you've GOTTA laugh.
