"Holy war (Jihad) is only a means to propagate truth and mercy among people"

In "Islam and domestic affairs," Abdul Rahman bin Hammad al-Omar says that "Holy war (Jihad) is only a means to propagate truth and mercy among people." He explains that that truth and mercy is to be spread by war, offering three choices to non-Muslims: conversion, subjugation, or warfare. I have outlined these three choices many, many times in print and on radio, and have often been called "ignorant" and "Islamophobic" for doing so. So watch for Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR, Salam al-Maryati of MPAC, and a host of others to denounce Abdul Rahman bin Hammad al-Omar for being ignorant and Islamophobic.

From Gulf Times, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Muslims and Muslim rulers are ordained to call people to Islam to deliver them from the darkness of atheism to the light of faith in Allah, and to rescue them from being immersed in the illusions of the materialistic life wherein they suffer deprivation of spiritual happiness.

One of the grave defects of man-made doctrines is that they preach man to be a good citizen and a useful member only of his own society, whereas, Islam ordains man to be good and useful to all mankind. This difference proves that Islam is perfect, magnanimous and superior to all man-made doctrines.

Islam has its own regulations of war. It demands from Muslims to prepare whatever force they can to protect themselves and their faith and to dismay the enemies of Allah and their enemies.

However, Allah authorised Muslims to conclude treaties with non-Muslim nations, on condition that these treaties should be in conformity with Islamic law.

Muslims are strictly prohibited to break the treaties which they conclude with their enemies, but they are authorised to abrogate them if the enemy violates these treaties or commits an act contrary to the conditions laid therein.

Muslims are ordained to call their enemies to Islam before fighting against them. If they refuse, Muslims should call them again to pay the tribute and submit to the laws of Allah. If the enemy refuses again, Muslims should fight them so that there may be no persecution and religion should be for Allah alone.

Muslims are strictly commanded not to kill women, children, old men, and monks who do not participate in war against Muslims. They are commanded to treat prisoners of war kindly.

All these commandments prove that the desire for exploitation and domination is not the goal of holy war (Jihad) in Islam, but its sole aim is to deliver people from man-made-object-service to the service of Allah, the Creator. Holy war (Jihad) is only a means to propagate truth and mercy among people.

The totally blind from birth man has no concept of light, nor of darkness.

Anyone born and indoctrinated as a Muslim has no concept of freedom, no concept of individual right and certainly no concept of light, be it moral, intellectual or philosophical.

As for truth: 1400 yrs of Islam's historical lies has only served to blind them further along with their left wing allies) and to forever shadow their vision of reality.

If Islam had won at Tours, Lepanto or Vienna we would still be serfs working for our neighbourhood land baron.

What the hell do they know? Except to take our kindness for weakness and to laugh at us because of it.

Islam thrists and burns for death. We are not going to win this war until we recognize and our community realizes we are fighting against an evil ideology of Islam and that it is a just and necessary fight.

One planet two views, not islam!
No slavery, no sharia, no caliphate!

There must be a separation of mosque and state. Shut down mosques that sponser terrorism. It is the ones who lead them in prayer that we need to deal with.

Swear by the blood of the (Glorious, French, or American)Revolution or Western Enlightenment and all it is built upon never to violate in the least particular, the laws of the our civilization; and never to tolerate their violation by Islam.

Hello all,

I'm new here and very glad this site exists. Thanks to Robert and Hugh for their courage. I bought a copy of "The Truth About Muhammed" Friday night and am reading it right now.

The line about treating prisoners of war "kindly" made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I will never be a prisoner and I will never be a dhimmi.

*sigh* First post and I blew it.
Sorry - "Muhammad". :) Wonderful book!

Hmmmph. These people do not honor Jesus Christ. He said there is joy in heaven over the sinner who repents; not over war and destruction.

On the mercy through mass killing theory.

If you really believe this you are beyond psychiatric help.
Muslims have to be helped to appreciate a little logic.
We need to expose the inherent contradictions of Radical Islam.

Virtually all the Muslim’s resentment of the West is driven by the Palestinian issue.
Muslims need to understand that Islam has been waging a war against it’s own people and that in the last fifty years more Muslims have been killed by other Muslims than have been killed by the Israelis.

This is a fact that many leftists such as George Galloway and Robert Fisk are oblivious to.
I recently read a good article on this by Israeli journalist Ben Dror Yemini on this very issue.

Here are my estimates for the number of people killed in inter-Mulsim conflicts as opposed to the Arab-Israeli conflict

Ben Dror Yemini estimates that 60,000 Arabs have been killed in the Arab-Israeli conflict. He doesn’t really go into the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 when an estimated 17,000 Palestinan-Lebanese were killed. However, the total number of Arabs killed in the conflict is probably not much higher, around a 100,000 maximum figure.
The Arab-Islamic obsession with the conflict is largely due to symbolism, that and of course their religion which teaches them to hate Jews.

Compare these figures with this.

Algeria: 150,000 people killed in civil war
The Sudan: possibly 2 million killed in civil war
Bangladesh: In 1971 the Pakastani army killed between 1 to 3 million people, many civilians in attempt to crush Bengali independence movement in what was then East Pakistan

Indonesia: In 1966 General Suharto overthrew President Sukarno, initiating a bloody purge of communist opponents. Estimates of the number killed by Suharto vary between 0.5 to 3 million. His regime also invaded East Timor killing a third of the population (200,000).

Iraq: Saddam Hussein’s regime killed approximately 180,000 kurds in internal oppression and was largely responsible for the Iran-Iraq war which killed 1.4 million people. Some historians argue that the real reason the Iran-Iraq war happened was that the Iranian revolution triggered hopes, in the Shia regions of Iraq, for greater autonomy. In order to crush this movement at it’s source, Saddam Hussein ordered an invasion of Iran.

Ben Dror Yemini goes into all these issues in much more depth.
You can read his article here.

http://www.nrg.co.il/online/1/ART1/483/521.html

Even if the Palestinians live under Israeli military occupation you can make a good case for this, arguing, with good reason, that the number of Palestinians killed would be much higher if they lived under the occupation of an Arab-Islamic army.

When will the Muslims develop some sober self-criticism?

Quoting the "Gulf Times";

Muslims are ordained to call their enemies to Islam before fighting against them. If they refuse, Muslims should call them again to pay the tribute and submit to the laws of Allah. If the enemy refuses again, Muslims should fight them so that there may be no persecution and religion should be for Allah alone.

My question is... if and when a Muslim asks me to convert to Islam, may I shoot him (or her) in self defense, since the very act of asking me to convert identifies me as their "enemy" and upon my response (being "no" of course) they mean me deadly harm?

/wondering if it would hold up in a court of law

I wish I knew how to quote and how to post links in my comments here... If anyone can tell me how, I would appreciate it.

"Muslims are strictly commanded not to kill women, children, old men, and monks who do not participate in war against Muslims. They are commanded to treat prisoners of war kindly."

A-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!
How the hell do these journalists and editors actually PRINT this ??? And ... how the HELL do so many in the Western (Civilized) world go on BELIEVING this?!

I'm flabbergasted.

Oh yeah, and about that 'no killing monks' thing, remember not so long ago, we discovered that Iraqi 'insurgents' *snort* were AIMING for US Army CHAPLAINS??? uh huh.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-07-27-insurgent-sniper_x.htm

I AM SICK OF THIS. WHEN WILL WE ALL WAKE UP AND FIGHT?

Isn’t this essay traditional Islamic doctrine? If so, I challenge Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR to refute the fascist elements of this creed. Elements so vile to the dignity of a free soul that it would make even Hitler & Mussolini blush. Ibrahim Hooper, denounce the statement that I as a non-believer have only three choices. For if you don't, I will conclude you endorse this articles statements and we will have a major problem. Because I'll tell you right now, I'm not converting nor will I be subjugated, leaving me just the third option. What is it going to be Ibrahim Hooper, of the Council on AMERICAN-Islamic relations? Are you going to denounce these statements are we at war?

Odyessus

There is NO radical Islam. You either follow the orders of Muhammad or you do not. If you do not then you are an apostate. theoretically all nonjihadist muslims could be called apostates. During the many wars versus islam even your peaceful kind muslim neighbour could slit yr throat if he was told to do so.

There have been multiple attempts to defang the Koran but all have failed and since Al Ghazzali(?sp) islam has been locked into its dark age mindset. Anyone who now tries to tenderise its harsh tenets now becomes an almost instant target.
With NO central religious controlling structure any fool who can read can call himself an Imam and interpret what he wishes from the Koran

What does this mean? It means that while there may well be "Good" muslims(however temporarily) there is NO good islam. While ONE copy of the Koran exists with its demands for blood and loot the world will never be safe. If you are going to take it literally then you either soften it or you remove it. The latter is a hard issue and a repulsive one but the time is approaching when it may become the ONLY way. The first one can only be done by muslims and they have had 1400 yrs to try and fail.

As for "Muslims being driven by the palestine issue". I would say that this may have added fuel to a 1400 year old fire versus nonmuslims but that is all. It is as much about blackmailing the west as anything else. They have been robbing and killing nonmuslims in the name of islam since medina. The brief hiatus from 1850 to 1950 where Islam was at its weakest still saw massacres of Armenians, Greeks and Jews. All spontaneously occurring in the name of Allah.

I have read that article and there is nothing new there at all. Islam and its fatalism has always been associated with the cheapening of life and while nonmuslims are preferred targets any differing sect member will do in an emergency.

The whole concept of suicide bombers, so disgusting to us is just another facet of their views on life and its unimportance for the individual. If you look at the pacific war you will see much in common with the fight versus islam. There the rules of Geneva did not apply there and you could not even take prisoners with safety during a lull so few prisoners were taken.
The sooner the west takes off the gloves and wages total war the better are our chances.

Personally if they wish to kill each other then so be it and the more the better.

Treat prisoners of war kindly???????

What about all those Jewish men and boys who were beheaded in cold blood after the siege of Medina.

SoldaBillofGoods,
I believe you have a good point. The Constitution vs. The Koran in a fight to the death. Which will be victorious? When you look closely these two are in direct contradiction. That is why they would need to terrorize our Politicians, Prosecutors, Lawyers and DAs into submitting to their will. How would our interpretation of the Founding Fathers change if it were to be found that they constructed a document 200+ years ago that saves our butts today? I believe they did.

According to Islam, all mankind are Allah’s bondsmen, and the whole earth belongs to Allah (not to any nation or a certain country), thus, the Muslim is authorised to migrate wherever he likes as long as he has committed himself to the Laws of Allah.
[...]

I am not "Allah's" bondsman, and am free from his
vile counterfeit "shariah laws", by the precious blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ ... Muslims
would do well to escape from "Allah's" bondage, by
accepting God's free and unmerited gift of salvation and eternal life, by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Let him that is thirsty drink the water of life freely.

What kind of peace can non-muslims expect when muslims take over?

Martyrs of Córdoba
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Martyrs of Cordoba)
Jump to: navigation, search
The hagiography of the forty-eight Martyrs of Córdoba was developed in Christian Spain, describing in detail their executions for capital violations of Muslim law in al-Andalus. They were the most important new saints in Iberia in the 9th century. The martyrdoms instanced by Eulogius took place between 851 and 859; with few exceptions, the Christians invited execution by committing public offenses: some martyrs appeared before the Muslim authorities to denounce Muhammad; others, Christian children of Islamic-Christian marriages, publicly proclaimed their Christianity (Coope 1995). The lack of an interested chronicler after Eulogius' own martyrdom has given a misimpression that there were fewer episodes later in the 9th century.

Historical background
In 711 AD, a Muslim army from North Africa had invaded Visigoth Christian Spain. Under their leader Tariq ibn-Ziyad, they landed at Gibraltar and brought most of the Iberian Peninsula under Islamic rule in an eight-year campaign. The Iberian Peninsula was called al-Andalus by its Muslim rulers. When the Umayyad Caliphs were deposed in Damascus in 750, the dynasty relocated to Córdoba, ruling an emirate there; consequently the city gained in luxury and importance, as a center of Iberian Muslim culture.

Once the Muslims conquered Spain, they governed it in accordance with Islamic shariah law. Christians and Jews were treated as dhimmis, or protected persons subject to a poll tax. Under many traditional interpretations of shariah, including those then current in al-Andalus, blasphemy against Islam, whether by Muslims or dhimmis, and apostasy from Islam were all grounds for the death penalty.

Though four Christian basilicas and numerous Christian monasteries mentioned in Eulogius' martyrology remained open, the Christian population was gradually becoming assimilated. Notably Reccafred, Bishop of Cordoba, taught the virtues of toleration and compromise with the Muslim authorities. To the scandal of Eulogius, whose texts are the only source for these martyrdoms, and who was venerated as a saint from the 9th century, the bishop sided with Muslim authorities against the martyrs, whom he regarded as fanatics. The closures of monasteries begins to be recorded towards the middle of the 9th century. The monk Eulogius encouraged the martyrs as a way to reinforce the faith of the Christian community. He composed tractates and a martyrology to justify the self-immolation of the martyrs, of which a single manuscript, containing his Documentum martyriale, the three books of his Memoriale sanctorum and his Liber apologeticus martyrum, was preserved in Oviedo, in the Christian kingdom of Asturias in the far northwestern coast of Hispania. There the relics of Saint Eulogius were translated in 884 [1].

The executions
In the city of Córdoba, Spain, between the years 850 AD and 859 AD, forty-eight Christians (mostly Christian priests) were decapitated for religious offenses against Islam. What made this unusual, beyond the number of executions, were the circumstances under which the executions took place. In particular, it is known that the majority of the victims deliberately courted martyrdom by publicly blaspheming Islam and making declarations of Christian religious beliefs that are considered blasphemous in Islam (for example, the notion that Jesus is God). Most of the executions occurred as a result of Christian priests standing outside of Churches or going to Islamic courts and loudly blaspheming Islam and making statements of Christian belief directly contrary to Islam, actions inevitably leading to arrest and execution by the Islamic authorities. There were also several executions for apostasy from Islam, involving both Christian priests and laypeople. Those who were executed during this historical drama became known as the Martyrs of Córdoba.

The detailed Acta of these martyrs were ascribed to the aptly-named "Eulogius" ("blessing"), who was one of the last two to die. Although most of the martyrs of Cordoba were Hispanic, either Baeto-Roman or Visigothic, one name is from Septimania, another Arab or Berber and another of indeterminate nationality; there were also connections with the Orthodox East: one of the martyrs was Syrian, another an Arab or Greek monk from Palestine, and two others had distinctive Greek names. The Greek element recalls the Byzantine interlude of power in southernmost Hispania Baetica, until they were finally expelled in 554: representatives of the Byzantine Empire had been invited in to help settle a Visigothic dynastic struggle, but had stayed on, as a hoped-for spearhead to a "Reconquest" of the far west envisaged by emperor Justinian I.

Perfectus April 18, 851. A priest in Cordoba in Spain, beheaded for blasphemy against Islam and insulting Muhammad.
Sancho (Sanctius, Sancius) June 5, 851. Born in Albi in Septimania, he was taken to Cordoba in Spain as a prisoner of war, educated at the royal court, and enrolled in the guards of the Emir. He was executed by impalement for his refusal to embrace Islam, the very model of a soldier saint.
Peter, Walabonsus, Sabinian, Wistremundus, Habentius and Jeremiah June 7, 851. Peter was a priest; Walabonsus, a deacon; Sabinian and Wistremundus, monks of St Zoilus in Cordoba in Spain; Habentius, a monk of St Christopher's; Jeremiah, a very old man, had founded the monastery of Tábanos, near Cordoba. For publicly denouncing Muhammad they were executed under Abderrahman in Cordoba. Jeremiah was scourged to death; the others were beheaded.

Paul of St Zoilus July 20, 851. A deacon in Cordoba who belonged to the monastery of St Zoilus and who was very zealous in ministering to Christians imprisoned by the Muslims. He was beheaded; his relics are enshrined in the church of St Zoilus.
Theodemir July 25, 851. A monk executed in Cordoba in Spain under Abd ar-Rahman II.
Nunilo and Alodia October 22, 851. Two sisters born in Adahuesca in Huesca in Spain. Daughters of a Muslim father and Christian mother, they were raised as Christians. After the death of their father, their mother married another Muslim, who brutally persecuted them and had them imprisoned. They were finally beheaded in Huesca during the reign of Abd ar-Rahman II.
Flora and Maria November 24, 851. These two women were both the offspring of marriages between a Christian and a Muslim. In addition, Maria was the sister of Walabonsus, who had been executed earlier. Flora's father, who died when she was very young, was a Muslim, and so her Christianity was legally defined as apostasy. Although Maria and Flora denounced Islam in court together, Maria was executed for blasphemy and Flora for apostasy.
Gumesindus and Servusdei January 13, 852. Gusemindus, a parish-priest, and Servusdei, a monk, were executed in Cordoba under Abd ar-Rahman II.
Isaac June 3, 852. Born in Cordoba, he became proficient in Arabic and a notary under the Moorish government. He resigned in order to become a monk at Tabanos, a few miles from Cordoba. During a public debate in Cordoba he denounced Mohammed and was executed for it.
George, Aurelius and Natalia, Felix and Liliosa July 27 c. 852. Martyrs in Cordoba under Emir Abd ar-Rahman II. Aurelius and Felix, with their wives, Natalia and Liliosa, were Spaniards whose family backgrounds, although religiously mixed, legally required them to profess Islam. After given four days to recant, they were condemned as apostates for revealing their previously secret Christian faith. The deacon George was a monk from Palestine who was arrested along with the two couples. Though offered a pardon as a foreigner, he chose to denounce Islam again and die with the others.
Leovigild and Christopher August 20, 852. Leovigild was a monk and pastor in Cordoba and Christopher a monk of the monastery of St Martin de La Rojana near Cordoba. They were executed in Cordoba under Abd ar-Rahman II.

Fandilas June 13, 853. A priest and Abbot of Peñamelaria near Cordoba. He was beheaded in Cordoba by order of Muhammad I.
Anastasius, Felix and Digna June 14, 853. Anastasius was a deacon of the church of St. Acisclus in Cordoba, who became a monk at nearby Tábanos. Felix was born in Alcalá of a Berber family, became a monk in Asturias but joined the monastery at Tábanos, hoping for martyrdom. Digna belonged to the convent there.
Benildis June 15, 853. Anastasius' execution inspired this woman of Cordoba to choose martyrdom herself the next day. Her ashes were thrown into the Guadalquivir.
Columba September 17, 853. Born in Cordoba and a nun at Tábanos, she was detained with the rest of the nuns, to prevent them from giving themselves up to the courts, when the Emirate closed the monastery in 852. She escaped, openly denounced Muhammad and was beheaded.
Pomposa September 19, 853. Another nun, from the monastery of San Salvador at Peñamelaria. She escaped the imprisonment of the nuns, went before the court and was executed, despite protests from her fellow nuns.
Abundius July 11, 854. A parish priest in Ananelos, a village near Cordoba. Unlike most of the other martyrs, Abundius was betrayed by others and did not volunteer to face the Emir's court. He was beheaded and his body was thrown to the dogs.
Amator, Peter and Louis April 30, 855. Amator was born in Martos, near Cordoba, where he was an ordained priest. Together with a monk named Peter and a layman called Louis (Ludovicus), the brother of the previous martyr Paul, he was executed by the Emirate for blaspheming Islam.
Witesindus (Witesind) 855. A Christian layman from Cabra, who had converted to Islam but later recanted; he was executed for apostasy.
Sandila (Sandalus, Sandolus, Sandulf) September 3 c. 855. Executed in Cordoba under the Emirate.

He was accused by others of having insulted the prophet Muhammad and publicly proclaimed the divinity of Jesus. Argimir was offered mercy if he renounced Christianity and professed Islam; he refused, and was executed.
Aurea (Aura) July 19, 856. Born in Cordoba in Spain and a daughter of Muslim parents, in her widowhood she quietly became a Christian and a nun at Cuteclara, where she remained for more than twenty years. She was discovered by Muslim relatives, brought before a judge, and renounced her Christianity under duress. However, she regretted this, and continued to practice Christianity in secret. When her family discovered this, she was again brought before a court, refused to repent a second time, and was executed.
Rudericus (Roderick) and Salomon (Solomon) March 13, 857. Roderick was a priest in Cabra who was betrayed by his Muslim brother, who falsely accused him of converting to Islam and then returning to Christianity (i.e. apostasy). On Eulogius' advice and with his aid, Leocritia escaped her home and went into hiding. Once found, both were arrested. Eulogius, after years of being in and out of prison and encouraging voluntary martyrdom, was executed for proselytization, and Leocritia for apostasy.
Laura October 19, 864. Born in Cordoba, as a widow she became a nun at Cuteclara. Condemned as an apostate, she was thrown into a cauldron of molten lead.

"If the enemy refuses again, Muslims should fight them so that there may be no persecution and religion should be for Allah alone."

Only a muslim could think such a statement is in any way reasonable. Just how does attacking people for not changing their minds amount to anything other than persecution?

"Holy war (Jihad) is only a means to propagate truth and mercy among people."

This guy seriously needs to look up the meanings of mercy and truth in a dictionary. He is seriously mentally ill if he believes what he said.

It's time at least something were done to fight back. How bout writing to TV companies on the subject of how newsreaders and commentators ought to refer to the 'prophet', when talking about Islam.

Suggest that whenever the word prophet is used, the speaker should hold up and wiggle two fingers, at either side of their head, to indicate inverted commas. This would be as if to say: the so-called "prophet". In doing this, they would be reflecting the beliefs of the overwhelming majority of their viewers.

It would also annoy Muslims, who don't think that all their PBUH's are irritating to everybody else. It's being obvious that annoying Muslims is now one of the best ways for any non-Muslim to assert their freedom and dignity.

MisIslamist

I have absolutely no illusions about Islam. It is just as well that most Muslims do not take eventhing their religion tells them literally.
If they did there would be an endless wave of terrorist attacks in virtually every country in the world.
It would make September 11th look like a tea party.
There is no good Islam……how true.
My point was this.
We need to create a culture within Muslim countries whereby the endless demonisation of Israel and West stops.
Where these people realise that their own countries are led by dictators who are much, much worse.
Only then can the peaceful path to real reform begin.
If Islam is ever genuinely reformed it will cease to exist.

Even someone like Paul Wolfowitz believes that, in the meantime, it is necessary to work with moderate Muslims.
A reasonable proposition, provided that, even moderate Muslims are never allowed to gain positions of great political power in the West which I am totally opposed to.

Perhaps the war will finally be over when Mecca becomes a Christian city.

Welcome GoldieLox

Borg, I've read about the 9th century Christian martyrdoms in Islamic Spain, but there seem to be no historical writings about Christian martyrdoms in the following 5+ centuries of Islamic rule. Surely, beheadings of Christians must have continued after the 9th century in Islamic Spain, since the Muslims continued to rule for 5+ more centuries (though their area of domain slowly diminished due to the slowly encroaching "riconquista" of the ultimately victorious European coalition forces). If you have any info on this, I'd appreciate it.

The managing editor of The Gulf Times is named "Paul Cowan" -- an odd name for the managing editor of a Qatar newspaper. Perhaps he is a British revert to Islam, or just a dutiful dhimmi. I'm going to email Mr. Cowan and ask him if he endorses the supremacist/imperialist view of the article by Abdul Rahman bin Hammad al-Omar in his newspaper.

email address: edit@gulf-times.com

Muslims and Muslim rulers are ordained to call people to Islam to deliver them from the darkness of atheism to the light of faith in Allah, and to rescue them from being immersed in the illusions of the materialistic life wherein they suffer deprivation of spiritual happiness

He explains that that truth and mercy is to be spread by war, offering three choices to non-Muslims: conversion, subjugation, or warfare
sOME CHOICES , JOIN THE CULT OR KISS THERE BUTTS OR FIGHT LIKE TE JEWS HAVE BEEN DOING THIS SUCKS

Muslims are strictly commanded not to kill women, children, old men, and monks who do not participate in war against Muslims.

". . . Islam ordains man to be good and useful to all mankind."

Sure, but they have to be reminded not to masturbate during Ramadan, as the great Ayatollah Khameini has recently warned in Iran. Beheadings can continue, but don't play with your WeeWee, Mohammad. You neither, Omar. You too, N****m.

What a wonderful religion! Only idiots could be attracted to that crap. Like a self-selecting Intelligence Test. No fee, and with immediate scoring.

Muslims and Muslim rulers are ordained to call people to Islam to deliver them from the darkness of atheism to the light of faith in Allah, and to rescue them from being immersed in the illusions of the materialistic life wherein they suffer deprivation of spiritual happiness.

So, I prefer to live in darkness. What's it to these kooks? I have never killed a Muslim nor oppressed one in any way so why should they care what I do? If I go to hell for not believing their mumbo jumbo so be it. Why all the hand wringing from these cultists?

I guess we must believe that 9/11 and other atrocities were to show us how merciful Islam really is and that they only have the best intentions in mind for us. They merely want to save us from hell. Kill us with kindness is a literal truth for these maniacs.

Thanks for your concern, but I'd rather go to hellthan see the "light" of Islam.

remote_control-

I don't know enough Spanish history but I think that may be where the answers are for how the future will progress. So I am reading. I would think the islamic atrocities would have been suppressed. Although I don't know that wikipedia is entirely reliable it does seem informative so far. The above article had a link at the bottom to further reading about the Christians and Muslims in Spain.

I thought all the muslims had been expelled from Spain in 1492. Apparently Philip II could see the writing on the wall.

I am searching for an answer to this question - What was the percentage of muslims in the country when they were initially expelled from Spain? I thought they were all expelled at once.

The Morisco Revolt occurred in 1568.

Two years after the death of Suleyman the Magnificent, his successor Selim II was continuing to battle to expand the Ottoman Empire. Philip II of Spain decided to reintroduce old laws prohibiting their customs, religion and language, to goad the minority of Moriscos living in Granada into an open revolt that he could contain, rather than wait for them to side with a possible Ottoman invader in the near future. The Morisco rallied under the leadership of Aben Humeya and evolved into a guerrilla unit based in the Alpujarra mountains.

The suppression of the revolt was handled by Philip's half-brother Don Juan de Austria, the illegitimate son of Charles I - and was fought with a large number of troops from Castile who ended the revolt in 1571. During this extended revolt however, the Ottoman armies successfully invaded Cyprus in 1570 while Spanish forces destroyed the observatory in Istanbul. Don John of Austria went on from suppressing the revolt, to become famous for defeating the Ottoman fleet at the Battle of Lepanto.

Following the suppression of the revolt Philip II forced the dispersal of the Morisco population of Granada to other areas. Philip II had assumed that this dispersal would weaken the links between members of the Morisco community and would facilitate their assimilation into the Christian population; instead, the measure worsened the situation. Conflict between Moriscos and Christians increased, leading to the final expulsion of the Moriscos by Philip III in 1609.

And now they are back there. Looking for the revival of a beautiful islamic tolerant society that never was.

Isn't that what the leaders of the European countries are thinking about doing ? Dispersing the muslims further into the 'other' populations hoping they will assimilate and intergrate?

I wish the leaders would know their history. I bet the only one who did was Churchill. And Jefferson and Adams in the US.

you are going to end up deleted or banned. Please remember people are reading this site for intelligent info. Not for gutter mouth.

Holy war (Jihad) is only a means to propagate truth and mercy among people.

This is the words of a "moderate", unlike the blatant calls to slaughter by the "radicals". This "moderate" is politely telling us why it is that we must all, every one of us, submit to Islam, one way or another. And why, if we besmirch the good name of Mohammad, well, then, sorry old chap, I'm afraid we're going to have to separate your head from your body. No hard feelings, that's just the way it is.

I love the clarity of this "moderate's" message. It should also clarify our response. And remember, this is the immutable word of Allah he's talking about, so don't bother trying to negotiate or barter. They want it all. Every last square inch of the earth is Allah's.

This article makes me wonder if there is such a thing as a moderate Muslim or if Islam can ever be reformed. This bizarre point of view from Islamania is so at odds with what we in the West believe that it seems like the gulf between both worlds may never be narrowed. Not only does Islamania oppose the West ideaologically it also opposes the ideas of Eastern religions as well. One really has to wonder that given how contrary
this mindset is to the vast bulk of the world if this "religion" either came to us from outer space or if it is indeed the spawn of Satan. In any event it will require a great deal of force and bloodshed to stop this monstrous ideaology from enslaving the whole world unless its adherents can miraculously reform and civilize it.

Truth? Mercy?
This convinces me that Islam makes such idiots out of people that they forget how to use words properly.

Thanks Borg -- big events in history are usually complex and piece-meal, not simplex and sudden, so it doesn't surprise me that the Muslims were not expelled in one fell swoop.

P.S.: I wonder how Muslims feel about "Morisco lingerie"? http://www.morisco.com.br/

This guy says human beings shouldn't rule -- "God" should rule. But what does that really boil down to? The little tyrant means he and those who agree with him should rule. He thinks he's God!

How ironic that the very religion that pretends to prohibit worship of anything but God -- that very religion ends by setting up dictatorial elites who claim godlike, infallible knowledge. And to think I was under the delusion that only God had such knowledge, and that we mortals only get glimpses of the divine, see through a glass darkly, as Paul put it in Corinthians. But now I realize how wrong I was: the Muslims are not mere mortals, though they give polite lipservice to modesty. No, clearly they are God's equals, since like God they are beyond error and therefore entitled to lord it over the rest of us not "in the know."

How, you may ask, do they know that they KNOW? Well, other people told them! Imams, their parents, family, teachers. And if those human beings told them, well, that's equivalent to hearing it directly from God himself, right? Oh, wait a minute. Humans can't be divine in Islam, can they...

If there are consequences after death for blasphemy, this Islamic tyrant and the many like him will be facing some serious music.

I guess I lean toward C.S. Lewis' view of hell: God didn't create it, he merely set bounds to it so it wouldn't spread everywhere. C.S. Lewis also conceived hell as a place where people essentially punish themselves, but are always free to leave. As Lewis imagined it in some of his fictional work, God even wants people to escape hell and enter paradise, but they often don't want to escape for various perverse reasons, or if they actually try emerging from hell, they often find the effort so painful and frightening that they give up and return to hell. In that perspective, "hell" is not a place but an afterdeath congregation of souls that are in a similarly sick/evil condition -- they gravitate together, as like attracts like.

In one fictional work (The Great Divorce), Lewis imagines that many souls enter as ghostlike, insubstantial beings into paradise. But paradise itself, as Lewis portrays it, is not cloudlike or ghostly. It is far more real, far more solid and intense and powerful and colorful than life on earth. At first it actually hurts the ghostlike new entrants to walk on the grass in paradise, which penetrates and cuts into the ghostly feet. Very slowly and very painfully, the ghostly, almost invisible beings become solid and visible themselves through contact with the air, light, water, objects and beings in paradise. But most of the ghostly souls decide they don't want to complete the solidification process, because they find it too painful and don't appreciate or understand what is around them in paradise. As for those who endure long enough, they eventually become as solid and visible as the rest of paradise, and the pain decreases and finally stops, to be replaced by glory and infinities of fullness.

In the same book, Lewis conceives hell not as a house of torture, but as an increasingly empty, vacant and insubstantial field where beings are getting farther and farther apart from each other over time, and space is getting emptier and emptier. At the center of this hell is a dingy town full of rather anti-social and selfish people. This is where many new arrivals from the earth first come. But people who arrived long before, and have never chosen to go to paradise, have grown more and more distant from the town center, and have gotten very far out in space. At one point, the hero of the story is taken on a trip far out in space to see the house where the dead Napoleon has lived for over a century as the house has grown more and more distant from the city center (also more and more distant from the entrance to paradise). Napoleon is overheard pacing back and forth in the house, and he is still going over what went wrong to destroy his once illustrious career. "it was Josephine...no it was the subaltern at Waterloo...no it was..." and so on.

To Jenbee:

To quote something, for example, "Neither a borrower nor a lender be," type this:

<blockquote>Neither a borrower nor a lender be... </blockquote>

If you type that, what you will see when it posts is indented text, which will indicate that you are quoting, like this:

Neither a borrower nor a lender be...blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah-dee blah blah blah blah blah

To put in a link, for example a link to www.faithfreedom.org, type this:

<a href="http://www.faithfreedom.org">check out my link</a>

If you type that, what you will see when it posts is this: check out my link. Of course you can put anything you want in place of "check out my link."

... whereas, Islam ordains man to be good and useful to all mankind. This difference proves that Islam is perfect, magnanimous and superior to all man-made doctrines.

Aw c'mon. We all know that, during those revelatory moments in the cave or the mosque, Mohammed was masturbating and capping the whole deal off by smoking a Marlboro Light.

Enough of this Archangel Gabriel doggerel; Gabe was Mohammed's mastubatory avatar is all. What's to worship in that?

Nothing of Mohammed was perfect, superior, or magnanimous. Nor was any of it good and useful.

Mohammed was the worst human ever. Rock bottom. The absolute worst. Having a billion morons worshiping this worthless sack of hate is a major problem.

Take the time to find and watch the the documentary
"Obsession Islam".
That will help you to focus on the real problem with Islam.

Thanks Carolyn.

I thought of you guys Friday night. I went out to dinner with the other half, and had wonderful spaghetti carbonara with real prosciutto, sipping wine and wearing a mini skirt (for him and because I bloody felt like it). Little things by themselves, but it will be a cold day in hell before I give them up.

Not only is there the frequent use of out-and-out Taquiyya, but it must also be recognized that many Muslims typically use words and concepts differently from the way we do.

Muslims find no irony is describing "freedom" as "perfect slavery". Yet we are often confused when Muslims talk about wanting freedom, then vote in Sharia-style constitutions.

When Muslims consider themselves "oppressed" we often envision a situation where they are being prevented from freely worshipping, or are being harrassed or arrested for their beliefs. Often, though, Muslims will consider themselves "opressed" merely if they are expected to deal peacefully with other non-Muslims.

We consider charities that serve as fronts for terrorist groups to be corrupt. When Muslims talk about charities, we always envision groups that help natural-disaster victims and hungry children. But in reading the Koran it is plain that part of the purpose of "Zakat" (charity) has *always* been to fund Jihad.

When Muslims say, "There is no compulsion in religion" they feel that offering death or the payment of the Jizya have that covered.

It is *very* important when we have "dialogue" with Muslims that we make it clear whether we are really talking about the same things.

from above:

One of the grave defects of man-made doctrines is that they preach man to be a good citizen and a useful member only of his own society, whereas, Islam ordains man to be good and useful to all mankind. This difference proves that Islam is perfect, magnanimous and superior to all man-made doctrines.

I suppose that is why so much no-strings-attached aid came from the West during the Tsunami and the Pakistan quake.

ofcourse:
Do you know how the title of Mein Kampf is translated sometimes in the Arab world, which loves the book? Using the possessive form of the word "jihad."

Think of it. The Arab world is famous for how few foreign books it translates into Arabic, and what is one of the few books translated? Mein Kampf!

Notice how these people talk and talk and talk and talk some more about Islam's alleged truths and light. But-- notice there's NOTHING ANYWHERE TO SUPPORT ANY ISLAMIC BELIEFS! Muslims are absolutely clueless about the universe they inhabit!! My aunt's pet parrot probably understands the workings of the unverse than these people.

As we all know by now, much of what the Kuran has intructed these people to believe is demonstrably and obviously FALSE. Imagine grown people being led to believe in talking trees and talking rocks--yet these are things in the Kuran that Muslims hold as sacred truths. Gee--behold the "light" of Islam with its talking trees and talking rocks. Watch them whisper Islamic truths in the Muslims' ears!!

The moral of the story: all the belief and fanatacism in the world don't mean diddley squat when they are placed in something that has no validity. Believing that something is true does NOT mean that it is.

Very few Muslims apparently are able to understand this, much to their detriment as human beings. But I hope the camel poop is good at least ...

Ha ha traeh, I didn’t know it was named that in Arabic. It seems they are following the footsteps of their obliterated Nazi brethren.

Goodness, to think of a barbarian war criminal from the sevenths century influencing the minds of so many.
