"I have two undesirable people who want to go to Italy to see the pope and give him a message"

More on the Turkish Pope Rage airplane hijacking. "2 Turks hijack airliner to protest pope," from Associated Press:

BRINDISI, Italy - Two Turks who wanted to protest Pope Benedict XVI ‘s planned trip to Turkey next month hijacked a Turkish Airlines plane carrying 113 people from Albania to Istanbul on Tuesday, and it landed safely in this southern Italian coastal city, officials said.

Istanbul Deputy Gov. Vedat Muftuoglu also said the hijackers had agreed to give themselves up shortly....

Karlitekin added that the hijackers declared that the would surrender "the moment they hijacked the plane," which was flying from the Albanian capital of Tirana to Istanbul with 107 passengers and a crew of six. Most of the passengers were Albanians, Genc said.

The captain told the Greek controllers: "I have two undesirable people who want to go to Italy to see the pope and give him a message," according to Stavropoulos.

Karlitekin said the jet was hijacked to protest Benedict‘s planned visit to Turkey next month.

Question: Why is Italy letting all those Albanians come in anyway?

it appears their planes do not have pilot security doors, air marshals, or any anti hi-jack procedures in place.

Well after all, we are talking about Italy, nuff said.

two undesirable people
Ain't that the truth.

FedUp,

Thank you. I was beginning to wonder what I had read myself, after reading the first two posts.

This is a quote from the unbiased erhem BBC

"A speech by Pope Benedict suggesting a link between Islam and violence sparked angry protests in Turkey and other mainly Muslim countries last month."

I don't think the Pope had to suggest that did he? In fact he didn't if I remember. But it is what bigots like to believe.

Every damned day.

Every damned f-cking day.

Actually, about every damned three hours.

Murder, mutilation, beheading, bombing, hijacking, burning, rioting, death threats and if not that more 'legitimate' forms of warfare such as indiscriminately launching rockets into civilian areas and kidnapping soldiers.

And always the clearly enunciated threat of dirty bombs, germ warfare, etc. etc. Hanging over our lives and the lives of our children. Clearly and repeatedly threatened.

And always IN THE NAME OF ALLAH.

Actually, my point is why does Italy let all those Albanians come over there at all? Looks like they have border control problems as bad as we do. Given those wonderful fatwas and such against the Pope one would think Italy would be eager to control its borders better.

Sorry for sounding confusing earlier.

How much like Israel!...

If the christianism was stronger in Europe, Albania, Bosnia and Kosovo would convert easily to christianism, the problem is that the efforts are refused by muslims there and supported by american and european politics and media. In the muslim Bosnia is very complicated building a church, and I have read a conversion of a muslim bosnian in Italy. But The European Union and US don´t do nothing. The same with Albania and Kosovo, it´s time to waking up.

ISLAMSFORLOSERS, are you asking why italy has got albanian immigrants or why those 2 TURKISH directed their plane to italy?

I know why those 2 Turks directed the plane to Italy. Hopefully, they won't be granted an audience with the Pope. In this day and age anything is possible.

As for my question, it's probably due to the fact that Albania was once an Italian puppet. I guess Italy will pay the price for that forever- a little revenge by Islam.

The Dhimmi AP starts its report "Two Turks protesting Pope Benedict XVI's trip to Turkey..." and helpfully informs us that "some of the passengers could be heard applauding" as they left the plane. Just a harmless "protest hijacking," you see!

In other news, the Anti-American Press hawks the message of an antiwar Iraq veteran deserter.

In 1991 when the big albanian invasion started we thought it was hell, but now with moroccans, egyptians, pakis and the rest, albanians are not that bad.

Remember also that in 1500 some christians albanians escaped the turkish oppression in albania and found refuge in Sicily. The descendant are still there and at least we are proud to have hosted those christian refugees.

Interesting stuff, to say the least.

Just in -

Seems that the story is now that the two are seeking political asylum. Interesting ...
(check CNN et. al.)

Karlitekin added that the hijackers declared that the would surrender "the moment they hijacked the plane"

Why, these must be two of those "moderate" Muslims we keep hearing about.

The CNN story has one of them a Christian, seeking asylum rather than having to serve in a muslim army.

That will be why the body count has been zero and the incident passed w/o violence.

They should not receive asylum, or any favors of ANY kind. Anyone stupid enough to even consider this as an option should think about what those passengers must've gone through. I'm sure they thought that they were going to die in a terrorist attack -- and lets not forget about the horror the families must've gone through.

No asylum for these cowards. They need to face their just punishment like men.
