Hizbullah will resume its military campaign against Israel unless it withdraws from the disputed Shebaa farms area and other pockets of territory occupied during this summer’s 34-day war, Nabih Berri, speaker of the Lebanese parliament, has warned.“If Israel does not pull out we will have to drive them out,” said Mr Berri, who acted as a link to the militant organisation during this summer’s war with Israel, in an interview with the Guardian.
Hizbullah will remain armed and fully operational in south Lebanon, despite the newly-deployed UN forces, until Israel withdraws from all Lebanese territory and ceases its ongoing air, sea and land violations, Mr Berri added.
“The Unifil presence will not hinder Hizbullah's defensive operations. The resistance doesn't need to fly its flags high to operate, it's a guerrilla movement; it operates among the people,” he said.
Yes it does indeed, hoping to provoke strikes that will kill civilians, so that those civilians can be used in staged photos and videos with the willing help of Reuters and others.

Uh, that's funny. Hezbollah is Lebanon's army? I thought Lebanon was an innocent victim caught in the crossfire this past summer according to the Lebanese government. Maybe that puppet government of Syria and Iran slipped by making this statement. Or is it that Lebanon is Hezbollah's puppet? Doesn't matter either way, because Israel blew it. Well, at least they've given the government of Canada fair warning to book some proper cruise ships for the Lebanese Canadians who'll want immediate free passage to their home-of-convenience.
A while ago, I read an article in the newspaper that said that, of the Lebanese Canadians who were rescued and then brought to Canada during the recent war (I'm guessing that it was about 14,000 but my memory is bad), half had already returned to Lebanon. (Did Canadian taxpayers pay their passage back home, I wonder?)
My husband saw one of them on the news after they had arrived in Canada. She openly said that, after the war, her family would return to Lebanon so her son could fight with Hezbollah.
Josephine - Paying for their return passage from Canada to Lebanon would seem to be money well spent. Let's hope the IDF stamps that young gent's ticket "one-way".

Prior to the last major military action by Israel, there had been repeated warnings (for about 6 weeks) from Tel Aviv that continued aggression and rocket launching from Gaza would have "very painful consequences" not only for Hizballah and Hamas, but for the region. Yet, the attacks continued and the Jihadists were surprised by the response. Some even accused Israel of planning the response well in advance of the response. (Really?)
These folks only listen to the Islamic belief-system tunes going on in their heads, and not to any real outside music. They attempt to make reality bend to their belief system. One day in the future because they seek to bend reality to their wishes, the "very painful consequences" will be catastrophic for them and for all Muslims in the Mideast.
There can be no political solution to this conflict because of the Islamic belief-system. People of good will have to understand that: the Islamic belief system requires Israel to be destroyed because it is in Dar-al-Islam. That's unpleasant reality.
The stupidity and naivete of the Israeli government and the US State Dept. has led to this disastrous UN resolution 1701, whereby UNIFIL "forces" will:
1. Become sitting ducks in the next go-round between Israel and the Hizbonazis (which has pretty much cannibalized Lebanese troops)
2. Become informers on IDF movements for the Hizbonazis (which was done during the previous round)
3. Prevent the IDF from advancing on the Hizbos (which the French forces have done already)
4. Take on casualties and report them as "intentional" and as "war crimes"
5. Report "civilian" Lebanese (read: Hizbonazis in street clothes) casualties and report them as "intentional" and as "war crimes"
6. Protect Hizbos and their families (as in "human shields")
7. Actually shoot at the IDF
This is probably why German forces will be seaborne and not on the ground. (Imagine the implications of German soldiers intentionally firing on Jews 60 years after!!!)
In the coming "unpleasantness", Syria will join the fray (or so they have been threatening), and Iran will somehow get hold of that nuclear device the NorKs have been preparing for them and lob that at Israel.
