Anti-dhimmitude in Pakistan. From Pakistan Link: "Minorities’ alliance demands abrogation of Hudood laws"
ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) while demanding complete abrogation of the Hudood ordinance has announced to challenge the law at Supreme Court.
The Hudood laws prescribe punishment for theft, alcohol or drug use, and most notoriously, sexual offenses.
In a statement chief of the minorities’ alliance Shahbaz Bhatti said that the Hudood ordinance being termed an Islamic Sharia law, so such religious law should not be enforced over the non-Muslim citizens of the country.
Bhatti said that Hudood laws have encroached personal laws of the religious minorities and affected their fundamental rights.
According to clause iii of the article 227 of the constitution and clause ii of the Sharia Act Islamic Sharia laws couldn’t be enforced over the non-Muslims, he said.
Shahbaz Bhatti appealed the chief justice of the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the problems being faced by the minorities in the country.
He said that the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance would challenge discriminatory clauses of the Hudood laws in the apex court.
A great idea. But somehow I don't see this actually working out in practice.

The laws of sharia, applied correctly and fairly, would ensure safety first and foremost for the women. Unlike what is portrayed in the media, a lady who has been raped does NOT face any punishment; far from it, the man, after being tried and found guilty of rape faces a severe punishment. Regardless of any unislamic local traditional practices, punishing the lady for a crime she did not commit (ie, being raped) is not part of the law in Islam. Peace.
hello Kalam, you miss the point completely, how can a woman that has been raped produce 4 male muslim men to validate her story, you know this is not possible.
think about how many rapist will commit this crime in front of 4 possible witnesses, that is why in more civilied society use DNA test and the victims recollection are usually enough to convict. the fact of the matter islam/sharia makes this impossible that is why muslim women don't report rape in most cases if at all.
please remember that a single women's testimony is invalid in the sharia court that another setback for the rape victim.

The media reports actual events,unlike the Hizbollah type organizations who have recently been shown to produce altered/slanted videos.
Muslims fear the truth and desparately do not want outsiders to know the truth about the death cult know as Islam.
Muslims have been truthfully documented as killing the raped woman, as she has dishonored the family. The rapists receive little if any punishment.
