Aref and Hossain Update from AP: "Two Muslims found guilty in Albany sting case"
ALBANY, New York (Reuters) - A U.S. federal jury on Tuesday convicted two Muslim men charged with participating in a plan set up as part of a sting operation that was supposed to involve killing a Pakistani diplomat.
Yassin Aref, 36, and Mohammed Hossain, 51, were accused of conspiring to provide material support to the Pakistan-based Islamic militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed, which is labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
Prosecutors had argued at trial that the men were driven by ideology and money, while defense lawyers countered that they were either entrapped by zealous prosecutors or were the victims of post-September 11 racial profiling.
Aref, an Iraqi Kurd, was an imam at an Albany mosque and was in the United States as a refugee. He was convicted on 10 counts including conspiracy, money laundering and providing material support to a terrorist organization. He faces up to 20 years in jail after which he will be deported to Iraq.
Aref was also found guilty of falsely telling the FBI after his arrest that he did not know Mullah Krekar, founder of the Islamic Movement in Kurdistan and now a leader of Ansar al-Islam, an Iraqi insurgent group the United States has linked to al Qaeda. He was found not guilty of certain money laundering charges.
Hossain, a U.S. citizen and pizzeria owner originally from Bangladesh, was convicted on all counts against him including conspiracy, money laundering and providing material support to a terrorist organization. He faces up to 20 years in jail.
Both men showed no emotion as the verdict was read in the packed courtroom. Sentencing was set for February 12.
The two men were charged with laundering $50,000 from an FBI informant who said he worked for the militant group and received the money from selling a shoulder-fired missile.
The ruse was part of a sting operation that pretended the Pakistani ambassador to the United Nations was the target of an attack in New York.
"These are not people we need in this country," U.S. Attorney Glenn Suddaby told reporters after the verdict outside the courthouse.
The prosecution portrayed Aref as a radical Muslim affiliated with known Islamist militants while working at the Islamic Movement in Kurdistan, including Krekar.
"I still can't believe that the government can do this," Hossain's lawyer Kevin Luibrand said, adding that he felt the government was targeting innocent Muslims in sting operations.
Sure, Mr. Luibrand. People accept the invitation to be party to the assassination of international diplomats all the time.
There are no "innocent" muslims. There are only muslims spreading islam. Islam is an brain virus that causes a physical change in the very structure of the human brain and the functioning of the conscious mind that arises from these physical structures. Mulsims do not employ the same sort of analog "I" and metaphor "me" in the same way as other conscious people.
Islam has reduced the need for "me" and "I" so much that at strong external authority is needed to guide the individuals life. The individual is unable to function without constant external suggestion from those in authority.
I would even go so far as to suggest that many muslims live in a constant pre-conscious state and are very easily manipulated by external authority. We may be witnessing a real, honest to goodness bicameral civilization right here in the conscious era.

Ah, but you forget two important things: 1) 600,000 is only 0.05% of the total muslim world population of 1.2 billion. That is one twentieth of one percent. So I don't think you can say that muslims are decimating muslims. 2) In the muslim world, most people do not die of disease or old age, like we in the west do. They die of wounds. So those 600,000 merely represent those who would have died of natural causes anyway, had they not been murderous muslims and had lived to old age where disease takes over from violence as the primary cause of death. Muslims die young, but they don't die young enough to prevent procreation. They have babies, lots of babies, then they die. That is too late. That does world peace no good.
In short, the muslim population is not being reduced by muslim violence.

We should think about that each time we fill your tank. Invest in new energy technology and demand the same from the government. Starve the beast!

It is my understanding that all religious organisations in the USA have charitable ststus , but with that status comes increased scrutiny of their finances and accounts so that the tax-exempt position should be transparent to all enquirers whose tax dollars are assisting the organisation . This is certainly true here in the UK .
This being so , then why has not the granting of considerable sums to Jihadist fronts not been challanged previously ? Any JW readers who are members of churches , synagogues , Kingdom Halls , temples who make enquiries of their accounts would immediately be given the information that they have a right to know efficiently and courteously . Could any say the same of the Mosque ? ( This is not , please , an invitation to be suspicious of your leadership , the vast majority of which throughout the States are honourable and dedicated only to the advancement of the Kingdom of God )

Attorney Glenn, we don’t need them deported to their native lands either. Cuz there they’ll be praised by the government there, by the mullahs, by the angry scowling deeply offended Moslem Street, and they'll probably even be rewarded with cash money and young boys like protected pearls who would approach the deportee Moslem activists with questioning eyes (Cf., the Koran).
What we need to do is punish them severely and means working for at least 10 yrs on a hog farm slopping the hog slop. Tough work, and not nearly as rewarding to a Moslem activist as mass murdering innocents.
Now, I’m not looking for economic favor from the Feds, but what other hog farmer would know how to handle these prisoner Moslem activists? I could house and employ up to 250 of them, with the pay rate being 1 cent per day, which is entirely fair, I think.

As an American, I am touched by what you and others wrote here, and I want you to know that I feel bad for you about what Muslims do to Germany and other European countries.
Life is full of choices. Muslims choose to immigrate into European countries, aggressively taking the economic advantage of what these civilized countries got to offer. You choose to live there for your own reasons. Every race, every ethnical group, and every immigrant compete to earn a better living for themselves on the new-found land of opportunity. Of course, the most politically astute group of people win first, then generally followed by the most educated people like politicians, lawyers, doctors, businessmen and so on.
If you don't like where you live because there are so many nasty Muslims, you have a choice to move to other places where there are no or less Muslims. So far Muslims tend to live in ghettos in Europe where they find strength in number. If you can't afford to live in a better neighborhood, you should get yourself more education to raise one head and shoulders above the Muslim crowd, and so in a way you are encouraged to find a better job and live a better life. You have a choice to choose a positive way to get over the negative things that Muslims create to hurt your feelings, and recognize that you have a capacity to respond so that you can go on to live and survive meaningfully in an unfair, unpredictable world. It is the only world we have. The good and the evil must co-exist.

I also read that article, and the writer blamed the "invadors" for this.
I visited the area of my city that has been blessed by the saudi funded minaret (120 feet at least, although I did not ask the mullahs living in the periphery). The newly installed speakers are high wattage, and carry the sound over to a much larger area. There are some places in all directions where infidels live. The area around the periphery of the minaret has become more densely populated by muslims. No infidel walks there. It is a city within a city.
I fear for the infidels living nearby.

There are 2 paths you can choose to walk on : 1) you fight your way out but you may die, or 2) you choose the path of the least resistance and you certainly live for another day on which you may choose to do 1). Successful investors, like successful people from all walks of life, choose the path of least resistance. That is, when the stock market goes up, they buy stocks; when the stock market goes down, they sell. Buy low, sell high! They don't fight against the trend which is their friend, like losers do in an egotistical way. BIG ego can cause an investor unimaginable losses. BIG ego can cause a soldier to get killed in a battlefield. BIG ego can do harm to an infidel.

When I first heard some years ago about money sent to Muslim charities being funneled to terrorist groups, I was appalled.
I assumed that this was a *misuse* of charity. Gradually, though, I began to get the idea not only that many Muslims support such use of funds, but that they consider it a *legitimate form of charity*, which is only kept hidden because Western host countries would disapprove.
Reading the Koran recently confirmed my misgivings. In the Koran there is *no* distinction between giving for what we would traditionally consider charity, and giving to support Jihad. In fact, there is constant exhortation to give to the cause of Jihad.
Surah 9:60 starts out with a list of uses of charity that we would recognize, but then adds something darker:
"Alms shall be only for the poor and the destitute..for the freeing of slaves and debtors, for the advancement of God's cause, and for the traveler in need."
This sounds fine. But elsewhere it becomes clear that the bland-sounding "cause of God" is Jihad.
Muslims are not only urged to give money to fund Jihad, they are threatened if they do not do so.
2:195 reads:
"Give generously for the cause of God and do not with your own hands cast yourselves into destruction. Be charitable; God loves the charitable."
This surah immediately follows the passage that infamous begins with "slay them (the unbelievers) wherever you find them. It is clear over and over that the "cause of God" is Jihad.
6:10 reads:
"Belivers! Shall I point out a profitable course that will save you from a woeful scourge? (hell) Have faith in God and his apostle, and fight for God's cause with with your wealth and with your persons"
2:274 makes it completely clear that Zakat (charity) for Jihadist is a duty:
"As for those needy men who, being wholly preoccupied with fighting for the cause of God, (they) cannot travel the land in quest of trading ventures...whatever alms you give are known to God."
I don't think this is something that most Infidels are aware of. It makes fighting this sort of funding of terrorist groups so much harder to stop.
First, no one should ever admit defeat, unless he accepts defeat as a reality, and then he is a loser. Infidels should continue fighting for our freedom in that spirit.

The venerable Charles A Lindbergh was a supporter as well along with the Nazi party that operated here in the states during the war.

I recently heard a clip of a speech from Condaliza Rice referring to Israel as occupation forces. Oh really! I guess this schoolmarm is now providing material support for the Palestinians; she has taken up the rhetoric where Yasser Arafat left it not to mention her fawning over CAIR during the “holy month of Ramadan”. How disgraceful.
