Police in Manchester have been told not to arrest Muslims wanted on warrants at prayer times during Ramadan.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed it had asked detectives not to make planned arrests during those periods for reasons of religious sensitivity.
The advice was emailed out to officers working in Moss Side, Hulme, Whalley Range, Rusholme, Fallowfield, Ardwick, Longsight, Gorton and Levenshulme.
Police said it was not a blanket ban, just a "request for sensitivity".
The email stressed the order did not apply to on-the-spot arrests, only the execution of arrest warrants.
I assume no arrest warrants are ever executed on Christmas Eve either.
This is blatant discrimination against non-Muslims, special preferences for Muslims. I thought France was pathetic, but Britain has now pulled ahead in the race to dhimmitude.

I am going to email GMP and ask them if they are planning to issue another internal email asking officers to refrain from arresting people from other faiths during their holy days.

The problem in in the UK the police are not there for the British people, most people, quite reasonably do not trust them, they are there to keep order, if that means arresting British people who challenge Muslims bad behaviour then they do it, regardless of stacking up problems in the future because the police philosophy is short term. The police are not on the side of the British people, that is why it is inevitable that what the police cannot do, the people will have to do.
Intelligence is probably being gathered on the most vocal Muslim suspects, the extremists, the police can choose to avert a crisis by apprehending and taking into custody the Islamic extremists before another outrage happens. Should one actually happen again, should we see a repeat of the 7/7 war crime then the situation will unfortunately be outside the control of the police. I doubt anybody wants the UK to fall. Rather, some of us (myself included) just don't see any hope for the UK when we read about things like this. The British goverment (and local city governments in the UK) seem to be bending over backwards to appease the Muslims. Muslims are granted special privileges and the rest of country is not. The UK government is not bothering to resist jihad. They seem to be a willing participant and just boggles the mind.
I wonder if this actually is a request for "religious sensitivity" or is being done out of fear that the Muslims would riot if the police went into a mosque to arrest somebody. Maybe the Manchester police think they can avoid riots (i.e. France) like this.
Funny that Josephine my aunty is doing our family tree and she has found three brothers who left England at the beginning of the 20th Century and settled in Canada. She has just got death certificates and call up papers for all three from Canada.
It seems that the eldest survived WWI and had three daughters, he died from a gunshot wound to the groan while duck hunting on the 22nd December 1940. The second son died with a few months of reaching the Western Front. And the third by all accounts survived the trenches but was so affected he came back a raging drunk who finally ended up in a pauper’s grave in Calgary.

Mert , forgive me but maybe you have not yet realised that this is battle unlike any that have gone before. The enemy is attempting and succeding in getting the West to commit suicide on mass. Interesting. I've spoken to my gay friends about islamism, and they seem to fully understand that sharia law calls for the murder of homosexuals and is not in their interests or mine.
So why can't gays and women at the BBC recognise this? And people from ethnic minorities who are being oppressed by islam worldwide. Something to do with having experienced discrimination and not wanting to be accused of dishing it out themselves. Time to agree on and defend some shared values.

Really? No U.S. assistance to the U.K. until after 12/7/1941? FYI, The Lend-Lease program began in 3/1941. A total of $31.4 BILLION went to Britain by 1945 via LL.
Did my Grandfather die in vain flying out of the UK? Bombing German military & industrial sites to keep German planes from attacking England? As you can see from my earlier post I have some sympathy with your view. However JFGR corectly reminded me the Russians inflicted more casualties on the Germans and suffered by far the greatest losses.
As you have done a hitch in the USN you might be interested in a story on BBC news this week. The Artic convoys to Russia were hell and a Communist told me he seriously thought of deserting the Navy rather than do a second. The veterans of the run asked for a medal for 60 years but were told the Atlantic medal included the Artic run. LAST WEEK the few survivors finally got a tiny badge to pin on their Atlantic medal ribbons. The Russians gave them medals years ago and when they visited North Russia the veterans could not believe it when the whole town turned out to welcome them as honoured guests.
Give you another one. In our town a man spent most of his life trying to get a medal for his son. The boy was an 18 year old draftee shot dead on his first night on sentry duty in Cairo in 1952. You see regulation said you had to be in country for 28 days to qualify and he was 27 days short! What other country would take a mans son and refuse him a $3 medal in return?
I am not English but don’t take it personal because I can tell you the British are not big on gratitude to anyone - their own servicemen most of all.
Pleasingly, one Muslim organisation has described the Ramadan arrest advice as "lunacy". Link to story.
Rather less pleasingly, all but one such organisations have not.
Religious 'sensitivity' doesn't make sense when it comes to picking up someone for breaking the law. Not for Britain or anywhere else.
People are either equal in status, or they are not. The law either applies, or it does not.
The irony in this is IF on one hand, you want people to assimilate, you don't change things for them, you educate them on the way that things are. If they don't like it, they can leave or attempt to change laws through the legal system, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES.
But you don't 'bend the rules' out of fear of rioting. Instead, you arrest those folks who riot.
It's like Alice in Wonderland. Right down the flipping rabbit hole.

Bogle, let's not prolong this war between allies. The Brits are not ungrateful for the US contribution to the WWII war effort, they just don't like being told they are cowards and were only bailed out by the Americans. And we can all play that game -- my father flew in Bomber Command and also risked his life "to keep German planes from attacking England". (Oh, and I seem to remember we didn't do too badly without US help in the Battle of Britain.) But for how long are we supposed to say "thank you"? And don't you think a g-damn thank you might be in order for backing you in Korea, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. etc.?
God Help the British People, and Government.

Nice post, JFGR. We need to put aside petty disputes. As I stated before, there are at least some of us here in the US who view what has taken place in the UK and the EU with horror and dread.
What will it take for the Brits to awaken from their PC stupor? (I ask this in full knowledge that I could ask the same question in many sections of America as well.) The root of the problem is liberalism - the notion that everyone on earth is just the same, that all cultures are equal, that all individuals are mere interchangeable cogs in a vast utopian machine - whether it is corporatist or socialist in nature. Until sufficient numbers completely repent of this notion, this monsterous, blasphemous and evil ideology, there can be no true resistance against Islam's onslaught.
Tell me if I’m wrong but I do get the feeling that people would like to see Britain fail.

Noone in this forum wants Britain to fail, Mert. Maybe those who chose humiliating words were trying to express their frustration with the lack of FIGHTBACK all over. It's just that this particular story came out of England so that's the source of these particualr comments!
I must add, however.. if the people in Poland, Hungary and so on were able to bring down their Russian-installed dictatorships by gathering in the streets.. why can't we get rid of our democratically-elected dictatorships??!! Can we all get together and MAKE SoME NOISE??!!
One thing against us is that this islamisation is taking place in small and successive steps.. But if there were demonstrations I'd definitely go. Here in NYC which was their target we'd have staunch - and violent - opposition from all kinds of leftist rganizations.. professional protesters, the whole lousy lot of them!

Thank you for your fair and thoughtful comment. One problem is that from far away we tend to judge from individual incidents that a whole nation is infected with a malaise -- we can't see the detail. For example, I must admit that I, an Englishman, get the no doubt mistaken impression from JW alerts that the US establishment is just as mush in thrall to PC (in the form of CAIR etc) as any Western country. And I was dismayed to see Americans saying they wouldn't come to London because they're always seeing pictures of Muslims. I live in South-East London and it's just not a problem. OK, we have Pakistani corner-shop owners, but they're all decent guys who are obviously integrated into the wider community. And the best local "off-licence" (liquor store to you?) is run by a Pakistani. The problem seems to be mainly in the ghettoes of the north of England, where they do have a big problem.
