Pope Rage-inspired plane hijacking

Pope Rage in the air. "Plane hijacked in Greece lands in Italy," from AP:

ATHENS, Greece - State-run radio says a commercial airliner has been hijacked in Greek airspace, and a Turkish Airlines spokesman says the aircraft has landed at an airport in Brindisi, Italy.

Private Turkish television NTV, quoting unidentified security officials, says the plane hijacked to protest the pope's visit to Turkey.

That's GREAT news. It can only harm Turkey's chances
of being admitted in the EU. Let's hope for more savagery from them.

The "peaceful" ones are at it again. They never get over the slightest (or non-existent) offenses.
Let's hear some more about how peaceful this "religion" really is.

Turkey's military implying it would step up if (and when, really) Islamists take over should have nullified Turkeys consideration for EU.

If the Pope does go to Turkey he is a far braver man than I. But then again, I consider anyone who travels to any part of the muslim world to be unnecissarilly endangering his or her life.

I can just imagine the conversation:

"Did he just say that we were violent and evil?"
"Totally"
"How can we show him that he's gravely mistaken?"
"Hijack an airplane!"

Hey hey hey! This is all a misunderstanding of Islam! A misrepresentation of the one true faith distorted by the media which is controlled by the Zionists!

Hello?

Is anyone out there who believes me?

They can send their message to the pope, but only if they apologize for their hurtful, hijacking behavior first.

Hey MO.

You can't handle the truth.

Those hijackers aren't too smart. Last time I looked the Vatican was still in Rome. At least they're in the right country I guess.

Modest proposal:

the hijackass demand...etc. etc.

I hope the Pope goes to Constantinope.

Stupid is, as stupid does.

Do we need to wake up Pope Urban II from the grave?

This shud hasten Turkey's acceptance to the EU. The EU not wanting to show any islamophobia will admit Turkey to show their tolerance. Yes, Turkey has the upper hand.

Quick update (per Fox News): The plane was out of Tirana, Albania, bound for Istanbul. It was highjacked in Greek airspace, but is not a Greek flight. The plane was forced down at Brindisi, Italy by the combined forces of the Greek and Italian airforces.

I am not sure where the highjackers hoped to land, but I presume they were heading west from the logistics. The plane may have been heading for Rome--this seems likely.

As of this time, the highjackers are still on board, together with all passengers and crew as hostages. They are armed--I don't suppose Albanian airport security is the best. I don't know what the highjackers' demands are--if they want to prevent the Pope from visiting Turkey, or if this is more symbolic.

Of course, with a Turkish Airlines flight out of Tirana bound for Istanbul, chances are that most of the highjacking victims are Muslim, but I doubt that the highjackers care. There are early reports, however, that there are two Americans on board. I hope all the victims get out of this in one piece.

More ugly violence and threatened violence from the "Religion of Peace".

To ISLAMFORLOSERS:
They tried to take the plane to Rome but the fuel wasn't suffiecent for that (or the hijackers were made to believe so). Plus it would probably be shut down if they tried to get near any big city.

To george_rem:
I don't think this will have any effect on the EU negotiations; just speeding up in the blind alley...

To GreatShaitan:
I was expecting protests against Pope's visit, but that seems to be too early. Apparently some wanted to have the honor of being the first! The Pope must be really brave to come to Turkey; the land of the man who shot his predecessor...

In such a way Turkey assures that it has the best condition to become the Horse of Troy in Europe. Surely the Pope will decline the invitation to visit the occupied lands of Greece.

Anybody know what purpose that Joseph Ratzinger, a brillian man, and now Pope Benedict XVI, could possible have in visiting Turkey? There aren't many Christians there - most were gradually exterminated over centuries of jihad genocide and dhimmitude. There is nothing he can possibly say to these Islamo-savages that would molify their texts and injunctions. Let's take them at their word, and go about the business of returning war to them in spades. We have allowed this death cult to survive for far too long. They want war; let's really give it to them until they are utterly destroyed or apostacized.

To FredIsinglass:

The Pope's only aim in visiting Turkey is to cause events as today's, so that Turkey gets into trouble. It's a cheap and easy move. It may turn risky if he really sets foot on Turkish land. But hey, if there's martyrdom at the end, it's a win-win situation!...

I don't know the Pontiff's full itinery, but one thing he has on the agenda is a visit to the embattled Patriach of Istanbul, who is Greek Orthodox. I guess he hopes to offer a little moral support.

I'm sure there will be a lot of silly interfaith stuff, also. I cannot imagine how hard it must be today to be a Jew or a Christian in Turkey, especially outside Istanbul itself. There are just a handful of non-Islamic Turks who were not massacred or driven out by the 1910s and 1920s.

I believe you've never been to Turkey, for you'd then know that the richest people in Turkey are Jews (and some Armenians*). Sorting the customers of my bank top to bottom yields Moshes, Solomons and Kirkors on top of the list. They are having their dolce vitas on their isolated islands in Istanbul.

The Pope plans Rope-A-Dope in Constantinope.

Don't give up hope.

This report was just on Bloomberg.com:

"One of the hijackers, Hasan Ekinci, had written to the pope in August asking for his help to avoid service ``in a Muslim army,'' declaring that he was a Christian convert"

Thank you, I found it interesting to read your post.

No, I haven't been to Turkey. I am not an expert, but I have read fairly widely about the Armenian massacres and violent waves of expulsions of Greeks, Jews and minority Muslims from Turkey over the centuries.

I'm afraid that far from finding that your observations contradict my post, I found them rather disturbing. If I read your tone correctly, it seems rather sarcastic and resentful.

Armenians and Jews were often comparitively well-educated, and often worked in the professions or as merchants. They tended to gather in cities, but the attitude was similar even when they were (in the case of some Armenians) gathered in small, comparitively prosperous towns on the North-East border.

Often there was a great deal of jealosy from ethnic Turkish neighbors, who often it seems felt that it was improper for non-Muslims to do better financially than themselves. The emphasis seemed to shift to the fact of their not being ethnic Turks post-Ataturk, but the attitude otherwise seemed much the same.

Outbursts of very public resentment often preceeded new rounds of oppression or outright violence. I very much hope that this is not the case now, but with reports of attacks on Christian churches and priests turning up more often in the news, I fear that it might be.

now he can protest for the rest of his life in Prison.

The main reason the non-muslims (Jews and Armenians) in the Ottoman Empire got rich was that they were exempt from military service. Merchandise was left to Jews and craftsmanship to Armenians. Turks were out on the field, growing something or fighting...
Jews were bound to be isolated for they marry among themselves. Similiar for Armenians.
As for their lives today, I have a few Armenian friends with whom I'm getting on very well. Of course, I'm not speaking for the majority of Turks.

I m here to remind u that DEVIL definately wears red prada. he definately doesn't do his homework.
what a dumb-ass
