The EU's top dhimmi says that the West should keep talking to Iran despite the mullahocracy's nuclear intransigence. Please, Mr. Ahmadinejad, there must be some cocktail of bribes and favors that would please you, sir. "West should be open to more Iran talks, says Solana," by Silvia Aloisi for Reuters, with thanks to JE:
ROME (Reuters) - The West should be open to further talks with Iran despite an impasse over its nuclear aspirations, the EU's top diplomat said on Thursday, hinting at lingering European hesitation to pursue sanctions sought by Washington.France, while suggesting Iran was exploiting the stalemate to build up its atomic fuel programme, said "we are (still) offering our hand" for a deal. Russia said it remained opposed to sanctions despite the apparent dead end in EU-Iran talks.

Solana is a joke in Europe - he represents nobody and nothing he sais carries any weight at all.
What is the EU now anyway - its dead in the water and very sonn , hopefully , it will sink without a trace - the time are a changing!
When Iran gets nuclear missiles and is able to target Europe with threats of blackmail Solana and his useless minions will be begging the US to save their worthless hides from this menace. If Europe's people don't tar and feather these idiots at that point we should just laugh and say "keep talking to Iran and give peace a chance".
Javier Solana, Chris Patten (now, grotesquely, permitted to call himself the Chancellor of Oxford University -- at what speed do you think John Sparrow is turning in his grave?), Miguel Moratinos, the ineffable Mary Robinson (having ended up in hugely-salaried safety at the World Institute of world-conquering Jeffery Sachs -- they all do) -- these are the E.U., or U.N., bureaucats, who are a menace to Europe, to the West, and to all of the civilized world. Deracinated world-travellers who see nothing, except the five-star hotels they check into, and then the exchange of banalities banally delivered, in the Church of One-World, where such things as national histories, national langaguges, national literatures, will dissolve into a stew, a gallimaufry in which the real business of everything will be business, and all hostilities will be seen as solvable by the spread of wonderful prosperity to wonderful humanity, and the inspiring motto will be not Lux, not Veritas, not Per Aspera Ad Astra, not even Forse che si, forse che no (the motto of the dukes of Mantua), but rather "More, More, More."
He's in his element, Javier Solana. He and all his fellows. They're only doing what comes naturally to them. Men without a country, men without a past. Men who think Spain, France, Italy, England should disappear and the Brave New Market of homo economicus, the Big Market of Europe, be placed in its stead. Isn't that what it's all about? The Big Market? And then the Deux Rives, on both sides of that silly Mediterranean that is the only thing which really divides North Africa from its natural twin, to which it, as part of Islamic civilization, gave so much, practically created -- let's get over that little obstacle, and make Europe and Araby one. A perfect fit: they have the oil, and we have everything but the oil.
What could be better? Javier Solana hasn't any idea.
What part of this quote is unclear?
"In negotiations, they tell us to suspend (uranium) enrichment even for a day on the pretext of a technical problem so that they continue talks," state-run television quoted Ahmadinejad as saying Wednesday. "Our response to them is that no one has the right to give up the rights of the Iranian nation."
I would suggest that the EU immediately fire all translators on staff since the EU leaders & negotiators obviously don't understand this simple message.
Also, the August 31st deadline for an Iranian response has been over for five weeks now.
As I write this, Javier Solana is conniving to shift attention away from his failed and risible diplomacy game with Iran to -- where else? -- a "new push" to resolve the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
Javier Solana is the most powerful official in the world next to Bush. As the EU's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Secretary-General of both the Council of the European Union (EU) and the Western European Union (WEU), Solana effectively makes, directs, and executes foreign policy on behalf of 400 million people. He also controls the EU's nascent continental army -- envisioned to compete with and ultimately unseat NATO in its missions across the pond.
Unelected and unaccountable except to his fellow Socialist and Arabist bureaucrats, Solana is one of the primary contributors to and facilitators of the European Constitution and Eurabia project -- the effort to Islamize Europe and eradicate Israel through relentless political pressure.
Like Chris Patten and Ken Livingstoned, Solana despises America and Jews on ideological grounds but one must wonder whether his ebullience is purely ideologically-driven.
Javier Solana: Eurabia's first Prime Minister.
If the West gets any more supine toward Iran we'll be selling them atomic bombs right out of the factory. Is that what this idiot really wants?
No wonder the Islamaniacs look at the West with contempt, since it has a seemingly endless supply of appeasing, clueless and spineless leaders who defy the will of most of their people.
The theory of the book Eurabia is that the Arab agenda is the same as the European agenda. The book also claims that most of the diplomatic problems between the U.S. and Europe are because the Muslim 0verlords of the European politicans want the EU to reign in America, and that's just not happening.
To those of you in Europe, a message from the city of Chicago: vote early and vote often. It might be your only hope.
The Russians are playing a very dangerous and stupid game. Soon enough it will blow up in their face.
France: we're offering our hand and penis to iran. How whimpy and tell tale can you get france? I'm 25% french,(Lacross)I used to be proud, and now I'm embarrassed. Hey johney, how do you like it now?
First of all, even though I don't agree with Iran having nuclear weapons, what right to do we have to stop them? We have nuclear weapons. First, lets get rid of our nuclear weapons and stop playing the martyr. We have done our own atrocities with nuclear weapons. No wonder most countries laugh at us, and most definately hate us, we say we can have anything but you can't..
He has a lot of high posts in Europe.I always thought Solana was trying to fulfill a lot of prophecies in the book of Daniel. He's someone I personally wouldn't trust. Anti-Christ is a title I've heard mentioned amongst all his others.
From the article
How delicately put. It's neither a "hint" nor "hesitation". The truth is that the EU (and Russia and China) are shouting at the top of their diplomatic lungs that they will fight tooth and nail against the slightest rebuke of Iran.
Iran will soon join Pakistan and North Korea as the latest nuclear powers, with nary a "tsk tsk" to be heard.
Just remember, when the nuclear warheads start falling on Tel Aviv and/or New York, that it just shows that the "war on terrorism" is going well, that the jihadists have become desperate, that they are in their last throes.
Muslim woman:
No one is better "playing the martyr" than the Muslim world, always the victim of something, so please don't accuse the U.S. or any other western power of doing so.
1300 years of naked, unprovoked Islamic agression first against Christendom, then its successor, the modern West, demonstrate that had the Islamic world been the first to develop the bomb, or any other type of WMD, an outcome fortunately obviated by the fact that Islam, when left to itself, stifles creativity and advancement and leads to stagnation, poverty and backwardness, it would have long since used it on a massive scale against us.
Don't make it sound as if the West is the agressor, because despite debaucles like the Iraq war, it is not. OT though it is, its worth mentioning here that the Crusades, and every other misfortune that has befallen the Middle East at the hands of Western nations and their imperialism are nothing more than the Umma getting what it deserved, or at least the predictable result of centuries of bullying its neighbours.
Unlike Iran, no western nation that possesses nuclear weapons is currently threatening to remove another nation from the map of the world.
In using words like "we" and "us" you imply that you are a western Muslim, possibly an American, so I would invite you to distance yourself from proud Islamic arrogance and adopt the values of the Western society that you are apparently living in, and to make that the definitive object of your loyalty. I do not take issue with you criticizing American policy, but no one should do so by making such facile and incorrect comparisons as the one you have tried to make between the U.S. and Iran. Yes, there are arguments that the U.S. and other western nuclear powers should disband their nuclear arsenals and there is validity to some of these, but make no mistake about it, there is a world of difference between the U.S. and Iran in every way you wish to consider.
The idea that the U.S. must disarm first before we tell anyone else they make not have nukes is illogical.
If you beleive that none of the countries of the world should have nukes, then the way to get to that state is to 1) stop allowing new countries to gain nukes, then 2) cause the countries that already have nukes to reduce their stockpiles to nothing. You can't get to a nuke-free world if you don't first take step 1. And you can't reach step 2. without addressing step 1.
Now, since Iran wants to get nukes as some sort of "power ploy," they are making themselves a target and will have do deal with the fallout, pun intended.

You are cluttering up these threads with longwinded posts. Use a link instead, and stop multiple postings. That is just plain rude.
Oh, did I offend the sensibilities of a person obviously intend on and happy with mass killings and deportations?
bigbird, someone is just begging to have their account deleted.
bigbird,
No you didn't offend my sensibilities. I didn't bother reading your trash. Quit spamming.
Robert,
Would you please do something about bigturd leaving his droppings everywhere?
Also, it would be nice to have a "back to top" button at the bottom of comments...
Oh crap! Bird-poop again! Thankful that I can scroll past that in about 30 seconds (that's 30 seconds too long).
But the reason I am posting is that I recall that Solana fella shillin' fer the Kosovar (sic) Moslems. He sure is on the Islamic side in every fray. He should be the official poster boy for the "New" Europe--Eurabia!
BigBird -- posting the same thing on multiple threads is bad Comments etiquette.
Same problem with copying and pasting long blocks of someone else's work, even more so when it is so far off-topic. It makes navigating a thread more difficult, and is quite unlikely to actually be read.
And please stay on topic.

"We" have not "done" atrocities with nuclear weapons. We defeated a ruthless enemy with them, and saved thousands of American lives in the process. "We" did not start or provoke WWII; "We" were attacked by Japan. Who gives a damn what "most" envious countries think of us--TO HELL WITH THEM! Tony Blair said something recently that you should ponder since you are so ashamed of your own country, a country you probably chose over your native islamic hellhole. I cannot quote him verbatim but when someone asked him why he sided with America, or why he thought it was a great country, he said that a good way to judge a country was by the number of people who yearned to live there, and the number of people who couldn't wait to leave. How many people want to live in America; how many want to leave?
Why don't you return to your native country and hate America from afar. There are plenty of people who would gladly take your place.
Prior to the Iranian (Shiite) Revolution, the Shah of Iran refused Saddam’s (Sunni) offer to assassinate Khomeini in Paris. Saudi Arabia was financially assisting Sunni Pakistan and the Taliban. Iran was leaning toward a nuclear solution, to counter the extended Sunni threat.
Iraq is now allied with Shiites, and Iran is finding additional uses for their nuclear technology. Iran used Hezbollah, to test the waters with Israel, and expand their influence in the region.
Sunnis (Sunnah followers) and Shiites (Ali was to succeed after Muhammad) continue to fight each other, but also merged their signatures. Shiite’s are interested in (Sunni) empire building, and Sunni Islamic Jihad and Hamas, embrace (Shiite) martyrdom.
I like Charles Martel's post about Solana being the first prime minister of Eurabia; if Bill Clinton was the first "black" president, I guess that makes Solana the first "muslim" prime minister!
