LONDON : Afghan militants are planning to launch deadly attacks on civilians in Europe in revenge for the 2001 invasion by US-led forces, a Taliban commander said on Sky News television on Monday.Mullah Mohammed Amin said resurgent militants had built up stockpiles of weapons and were bent on vengeance against "the foreign invaders".

Amin said the Taliban was inspired by tactics used by insurgents in Iraq, namely remote-controlled bombs, land mines and suicide bombers.

This statement is important to note. Islam forbids the killing of "innocents", but no proper definition of this term was ever given. This is therefore how jihadists can justify their actions, as they argue that there are no innocents in democratic countries whose armies are engaging muslims in combat, as the civilians of those countries voted in their Government and also pay for their armies through taxation.
Therefore, whenever an Islamic advocacy group states in a press conference that they disagree with the killing of "innocents", without defining what actually constitutes being an "innocent", then their comments are:
a) effectively meaningless from an Islamic perspective
b) useless in persuading Jihadists to stop targeting Western civilians
c) deceiving in as far as it will trick many infidels into thinking Islam is actually peaceful
Change is only possible if Islamic advocacy groups challenge statements such as Mullah Amin's comments above, and show that they do not follow Islamic teachings. However, this is not happening because:
a) The Jihadists arguments cannot actually be refuted on Islamic teachings
b) Most Islamic advocacy groups in the west support the Jihadists goals, which is to effectively bring the world under Sharia Law. These advocacy groups are merely employing different methods to achieve their shared goal (ie political instead of through violence).
However, I am sure we can still look forward to muslims and apologists saying how the Taliban are "twisting" Islam, without offering any argument or evidence to back up this false assumption.
If I want the Taliban's view of things I'll watch some of their fine beheading videos. I don't need some filthy looking scum telling me about Allah and how the West is evil and will lose.
