UK jihad terror suspect: I thought the fertilizer was for construction, not bombs

Terrorism? Nabeel Hussain is shocked -- shocked! -- at the very idea. "Suspect thought fertiliser for construction not bomb," from Reuters, with thanks to Ronin:

One of seven Britons accused of planning to carry out bomb attacks said on Monday he thought a huge bag of fertiliser contained sand for construction work rather than material for making explosives, as prosecutors claim.

Nabeel Hussain, 20, told London's Old Bailey court that he had no involvement in a suspected plot to set off bombs at high-profile targets such as pubs, clubs and a shopping centre.

Hussain, a student at Brunel University in west London, admitted that his credit card and signature had been used to pay for a storage facility where 600 kg (1,300 lb) of ammonium nitrate fertiliser were stored in early 2004.

Hussain said that he had lent the money to another of the suspects, Omar Khyam, without asking questions.

"I had building (sites) in the street, they had bags like that (in the storage) ... so I thought it was sand," he told the court.

"He (Khyam) then explained to me it was (going) to be used for renovation work, to do up homes. He was going to store it for some machinery, and I said 'ok'."

He said he was scared when he learnt some weeks later through a mutual friend of Kyham's what the bag actually contained.

Asked if he was part of a plan to use explosives to murder people in Britain, Hussain said: "(I) certainly was not. It was against my beliefs, my religion.

"It was never something I was part of or wanted to be part of."

And we are supposed to belive this shit?
Everyone knows this info is on the 'net. The Bali bombers used this technique for bomb building.
Pull the other leg,,,and I am sure you will get away with it.

"(I) certainly was not. It was against my beliefs, my religion.

Guilty. Next case. Hard to believe anyone is stupid enough to claim Islam is against blowing up anything.

Hmmm. The poor guy probably was busted for associating with jihadis. Time for CAIR's UK equivelent to march on his behalf.

It was for construction...of a BOMB!

Muslim cement mix: 9 parts ammonium nitrate fertilizer, 1 part fuel-oil. Add broken glass and scrap metal to taste (to quote Tom Clancy "What's a brownie without walnuts?").

Funny how these gofballs are always caught with fertilizer and yet it's never for making a bomb. Could it be that they're all master gardeners? My guess is that these jihadis spend too much time spewing verbal diarrehea, hence all this fertilizer.

Oh really! How much more of this c**p are we supposed to take. I hope that the jury has some common sense for once. Believers in mohammedanism lie; they are enjoined to lie to the infidel; it is considered to be in allah's interest to lie to the infidel. Let us hope that the jury knows these things.

No legal system is perfect. Any such system which relies on juries has also to rely upon the common sense and the knowledge of each and every individual juror. Let us hope that there is at least one juror who is truly knowledgeable about islam so that he, or she, can enlighten the others. If not then we must try harder to get the knowledge out there. If the jury doesn't convict it is our failure - because we haven't shouted loudly enough about, nor been active enough concerning, islamic supremacism to get through to the ordinary person in the street.

However, when all is said and done, I'd rather have this system than sharia. Wouldn't you?

Dominic.

I imagine he was also 'shocked' that there is gambling in Rick's Casino...

"Your winnings, Inspector..."

My vote is for gardening.

I think that this misunderstood Jihadist was doing a guest spot on Public Television's Victory Garden show.

Yes, I believe that the jury system will slowly take in to consideration the times and will probably put this guy away.

God willing, of course.

Another liar.

ammonium nitrate fertiliser make the best bombs to blow up buildings , how big and strong they may be , because the sound waves of these bombs move very slowly causing maximum damage to the building , and end in collapse of the building , even rdx can't do that , everyone in the building will die because of that , there will be few survivers .

Dont get me wrong on saying that :ammonium nitrate fertiliser make the best bombs to blow up buildings.

I kind of learnt how deadly a fertiliser bomb can be .

I'm suddenly in the mood for a doughnut -- no -- make that a brownie. Does someone have a sweet tooth :-) ?

Do not bet that he will not get off.

About 15 years ago the Yorkshire police caught an IRA suspect they had been watching after a long car chase.

He had an AK47 on the back seat at the time and just happened to be named after an IRA man hanged by the British in 1920. With the help of his British civil rights lawyer he explained he was looking for a way to get rid of the AK47 and panicked. He came from a devout Catholic family and would do nothing to take human life.

He was acquitted and the Brits had to be satisfied with deporting him back to Ireland.

Six months later he was killed taking part in an attack on a Police Station in Northern Ireland.

Tiger,

ANFO's got a fairly low detonation velocity, which makes it especially good at moving earth & wrecking buildings for something with as low an REF as it's got. The main reason it's so popular, though, is that it's easy & safe to make. Dump it in barrels of fuel oil for large charges, or melted parrafin for smaller charges where a liquid explosive would be problematic, mix well, you're good to go. No having to watch to dump the mix into ice water if pink fumes start forming overhead. The down side of that stability is that you need a charge of real explosives to set it off. It's by no means the be-all/end-all of explosives, otherwise the military would use it for more than engineering charges for cratering roads and runways, or for blasting instant foxholes. In particular, it's sensitive to moisture and can make an embarrassing fizzle if left in the humidity too long before use.

(Yeah, probably a good thing I wasn't planning on flying anywhere in the near future...)

This jihad terror suspect claims that:
... murdering people in Britain is against his beliefs and his religion..

Is there anyone out there that will still believe him?

Or is that one of those cliches like the one among people in jail that "everyone is innocent here."

I look forward to the Public Prosecutor NAILING that liar on his "...It was against my beliefs, my religion," statement.

Ask how much he knows about his own religion.

Introduce direct quotations from the Koran, encouraging death to k'ffirs, beheading, dismembering!

Ask him AGAIN which part of the Koran specifically disavows or prohibits killing k'ffir non-believers, eh?

"So, you are saying ALL those Muslims who strap explosives to their bodies and kill others while killing themselves... are SINNERS? Subject to the damnation of the One True Creator?"

Uh, er, I... um, that is...

Some posters to JW believe in extra-judicial action against Jihadists. On occasion I agree. I’m sure some of that group are ridiculing Nabeel Hussain for his pathetic excuses as to why he was in possession of bomb components. I think this means that the prosecutor has got him in his sights. This means that the detectives on the case caught the terrorists with the right evidence to convict.
So, in this case I would suggest the judicial process is working. The evidence is strong and the public support the conviction of these people. I agree that laws need to be tightened, and extra-judicial assassination exercised by the state is a necessary tool against Jihadists.
But, if you want to retain the democratic principles we were founded on…you have to bring the public with you. I think posters here want to retain the democratic spirit of the USA and the EU, rather than rip its heart out to crush Islam. My point is that JW is relatively marginalized. I’m not saying Mr. Spencer is, but the views espoused here do not represent current popular opinion. This isn’t even a criticism of anti-Jihadist views, I’m saying that the loud hailer we are using to communicate and move public opinion must be more effective.

Protectalbion,
I agree on the judicial process. Bring Osama bin Laden to trial first...then cut his b@lls off. LOL

I am SHOCKED that Nabeel Weasel Hussein could believe he would walk free with these pathetic lies. However he may be right.U.K Judges seem to be Dhimmis like the rest of governing elite in Britain.Don't build yer hopes up...

HEADS UP !!!

NORTH KOREA IS ABOUT TO TEST A NUKE !

THIS IS OF COURSE TO SHOW THIER IRANIAN CLIENTS THAT THE NUKES THEY SUPPLIED TO THEM ACTUALLY WORK...............

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/5402018.stm

N Korea 'to conduct nuclear test'

North Korea is to conduct a nuclear test, the foreign ministry has said in a statement.
The move would "bolster" the country's self-defence in the face of US military hostility, North Korea's official KCNA said.

"[North Korea] will in the future conduct a nuclear test under the condition where safety is firmly guaranteed," the ministry said.

Pyongyang has come under mounting pressure over its nuclear programme.

Six-nation talks on its plans have been stalled for nearly a year, and the US has imposed financial sanctions on North Korean businesses.

North Korea is believed to have a handful of nuclear warheads but is not known to have tested one.

'Grave situation'

The statement from Pyongyang said "the US daily increasing threat of a nuclear war and its vicious sanctions and pressure have caused a grave situation on the Korean Peninsula".

The ministry went on to say that "under the present situation" in which the US moves to isolate and stifle" North Korea, the country "can no longer remain an on-looker to the developments."

NORTH KOREA TESTING NUKE ON BEHALF OF IRAN

2:216. Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allâh knows but you do not know.

Churchill1939 maybe as you suggested a yesterday, the US should just dump out flyers over N.Korea, that might stop them in their tracks.
how about flyers over Londistan telling them fertilizers are not used for contstructions, only for growing in the fields.. or if your a devout muslim make big bang. either way, can you see flyers anywhere?

ZenaWarriorPrincess

I point you to my post at the end of that thread:

Better still HERE IT IS BELOW:

TO ALL THE ABOVE

I'm sooo glad I caused a debate by (PRETENDNG) to be a bleeding heart liberal.

For those of you that dont know, Churchill himself used that tactic a few times. It helped solidify the resolve of his allies and fired them up. It also helped identify the bleeding heart liberals with no stomach to fight.

The Darkest days are yet to come.

We should extend North Korea's demo to show what happens to a country that threatens us.

THE TIME TO STRIKE IS NOW !

Stockpile your fuel, food, clean water, weapons etc. BE PREPARED FOR WAR

I believe him. Of course I do. A devout Muslim believing in Allah wouldn't lie on oath, would he.

Millions wouldn't believe him, mind - but I do ;-).

I'm sure I do. So acquit him now. Then let him explain it all over again to a few of the boys from C18 when they pay him a visit :-)

This is nothing but Lies, Damn Lies, and Damn STUPID

Lies. Im sure when this moron said that to

detectives they had real trouble not bursting out

into laughter.

what a moron.

A Muslim buying fertilizer to grow things? That's a constructive activity...

A muslim student in Britian buying fertilizer to grow things? Unless he's got a marijuana farm in the basement of the student union - I'd look for other possible explanations.

Asked if he was part of a plan to use explosives to murder people in Britain, Hussain said: "(I) certainly was not. It was against my beliefs, my religion."

Can you remember there was a time not that long ago when the above statement would have been an hilarious Monty Python dialogue?

Interesting you mention Monty Python. Any chance they will do "Monty Python's Life Achmed" A camel trader living in Arabia at the same time as Mohammed who keeps being mistaken for him? It could be quite funny but I wonder who would put up the money.

I don't know if the line originates with him but the UK TV presenter, Jeremy Paxman, says that whenever he talks to a politician, he always asks himself:'why is this lying b*****d lying to me?' This strikes me as a very reasonable approach to adopt for any non-Muslim being addressed by one of the believers. Posters on Jihadwatch are treated to breath-taking exercises in deceit and dissimulation from the various Muslim trolls who wander in from time to time. It's crucial that the general pubblic is made more aware of how far these people have got mendacity down to a fine art and the extent to which Islam is no more a religion of truth than it is a religion of peace.

What's missing here?

Oh yes. "He is such a nice ordinary boy from a good family."

SMIRK!!!
