An update to this story: British officials rush to do damage control, and to explain that Omar Basha was not excused from guarding the Israeli Embassy for reasons of conscience. All right -- but why is a man who was married by Omar Bakri, the notorious imam who openly supports Osama bin Laden and the subjugation of Britain under Islamic law, a constable in the first place? What effort was made, if any, to make sure he was loyal to the Crown? Or was arriving at the proper politically correct quota of Muslim policemen the paramount consideration?
"Embassy constable was redeployed 'to safeguard family,'" by Daniel McGrory in the TimesOnline, with thanks to Jerusalem Posts:
SCOTLAND YARD commanders insisted last night that the decision to remove a Muslim policeman from guard duty at the Israeli Embassy was taken to protect the safety of his family and was “not about political correctness”.Senior officers moved swiftly to defuse the furore over PC Alexander Omar Basha, who is attached to the Diplomatic Protection Group, after reports that he had been excused from guarding Israeli diplomats on “moral grounds”.
Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, ordered an urgent review into why PC Basha, who is of Syrian origin and has a Lebanese wife, was allowed to switch duties at the time of the Israeli conflict with Hezbollah, in August.
Last night it emerged that PC Basha was married by the extremist cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammad at the officer’s family home in London. Mr Bakri — who in 2005 was excluded by the Home Secretary from returning to Britain after he left for Lebanon — said last night that he was related to the officer’s father-in-law. The cleric said that because of his own “radical views” he did not have a good relationship with the father-in-law. Mr Bakri added that he had tried to persuade PC Basha to leave the police....
The inquiry is continuing, but aides of Sir Ian rushed out their initial findings, which exonerate the commissioner and the Muslim officer of blame. Paul Stephenson, the Deputy Commissioner, said that the decision had nothing to do with PC Basha’s views. He had simply told his managers that he was worried for relatives trapped in Lebanon were he to be photographed at the embassy.
“It was as a result of this risk assessment, and not because of the officer’s personal views, that the decision was taken temporarily not to deploy him to the embassy.”
Wow,this just gets better and further reinforces my contention that Muslims don't belong in Western police forces and militaries.
How nice he was worried about being photographed and harm coming to his family back home in the M.E. Muslims in Western militaries and police forces are potential black mail targets. Something along the lines of you'll give us secrets and assist the Jihad from the inside or we'll hurt your family.
What the hell is wrong with many of our leaders? Hopefully this case finally has some repercusions.
Strange that he should have been married in his family home, since in the UK all legal marriages have to be at premises licensed for the purpose. Or was this some other kind of 'marriage'?
Once again, why was this guy assigned to protect the Israeli embassy? If Muslims are cops assign them to a place where one shouldn't have to worry about what he may or may not be doing (of course one can then say why is this guy a cop at all if one has to worry about anything he does). This is like expecting the fox to guard the henhouse.
If you have mohammadians on gaurd you can save a lot of money on security .
An officer's duty is to protect the public. It doesn't matter if the public consists of Jews , infidels or a purple people eater. An officer needs to be above reproach in his life. In my mind, you can't be a muslim and uphold the laws of the state if you hang with terrorists, have many wives or feel you should be able to live your life based on a criminal who lived 1400 years ago.
There are too many ways to commit crimes, and when your cult tells you it's your right to do these things because mo did it, and you emulate him, you are not worthy of the badge. How does a citizen not fear these guys? It's dangerous to have criminals wearing a badge.
If a policeman had any affiliation with the BNP, Britain's 4th largest and most anti-islam political party, they would be chucked out.
This man has an affiliation to someone 1000 times worse and we bend over backwards to appease him.
what Bull Sh*t !!!!!
If he is afraid to do his job, he should not be doing it !
So, when the time comes that he may need to protect British civilians against a Muslim mob, what will he do?
Be afraid for his family back in some Jihadi land, because he was seen on TV protecting English against the evil brotherhood? Will he be let off the hook then too? Maybe this is part of ther Global Jihad plan, to infiltrate the police forces around the world, so that one day, when it is "time" they can let their evil show?

That's why the port operations deal in the U.S. (which, by the way, eventually succeeded once the furor died down) was such a fantastic deal. Both the UAE and the Saudis benefit, so it is win-win.
Back to the original story, I think we should be more considerate of the Muslim position, and not allow them into the police, military, or security apparatus of the West (dar al-Harb). That way, we can avoid putting them in these sort of uncomfortable situations, where they or their families back in the homeland (dar al-Islam) will be put at risk.
And, when you think of the likelihood of their being exposed to non-Halal images, music, customs, food, and ideas, the only humane and culturally sensitive thing to do is to not allow them here in the first place.
A policeman's lot is not a happy one. Especially a Moslem policeman's in pre-Islamic Britain. But afterwards, all police will be Islamic. Islamic police will see that all obey Islamic religious law. As for you who refuse reverting (reversion? revulsion?) if you are "book people", you will be allowed to live under the protection of your Moslem rulers, but . . .
. . . but should you be found with any infraction of the rules that govern you, that protection will be withdrawn. That means no police protection for you dhimmwhitted dhimmi if you don't get off the sidewalk when a Moslem comes your way, etc. And you kaleb yahud, book or no book, you'd better watch yourself, you're treading on thinner ice than the rest of the book people. As for the polytheists in UK, I cannot be urge them to join their bretheren and arm for Armageddon (you who are kufar).

This I find alarming
PC Basha was married to the extremist cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammad,s niece.
This needs a little thinking about
