Gutless indeed. Islamic groups worldwide are doing next to nothing to fight against real-life Islamic terrorists, but feature one in a novel or a TV show, and it's off to the battle stations. "Islamic fears kill off children's thriller," by Murray Waldren and Jodie Minus in The Australian, with thanks to Danlew:
A LEADING children's publisher has dumped a novel because of political sensitivity over Islamic issues.Scholastic Australia pulled the plug on the Army of the Pure after booksellers and librarians said they would not stock the adventure thriller for younger readers because the "baddie" was a Muslim terrorist.
A prominent literary agent has slammed the move as "gutless", while the book's author, award-winning novelist John Dale, said the decision was "disturbing because it's the book's content they are censoring".
"There are no guns, no bad language, no sex, no drugs, no violence that is seen or on the page," Dale said, but because two characters are Arabic-speaking and the plot involves a mujaheddin extremist group, Scholastic's decision is based "100 per cent (on) the Muslim issue".
This decision is at odds with the recent publication of Richard Flanagan's bestselling The Unknown Terrorist and Andrew McGahan's Underground in which terrorists are portrayed as victims driven to extreme acts by the failings of the West.
The Unknown Terrorist is dedicated to David Hicks and describes Jesus Christ as "history's first ... suicide bomber".
Typical.
Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, [...] and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand."
Terror.
Jesus as suicide bomber?! Where do people get this nonsense?
Unbelievable!

Would the author have a case to sue the publishing company if someone else's book was published about different political ideologies?
Make them decide which is scarier, losing LOTS and LOTS of money or a few whiny muslim wackos.
Fuc*ing cowards! I sure do hope that some other publishing companies will step up to the plate.
You know in the old days, authors like Dante Alighieri placed muhammed in Hell when he wrote Divine Comedy, and people bought it and liked it. Now publishers are scared to depict muslim terrorists in books? We're going under and fast.
How ridiculous. Would this have even been an issue two decades ago? One decade ago?
islamization is being carried out, one step at a time.

"You know in the old days, authors like Dante Alighieri placed muhammed in Hell when he wrote Divine Comedy, and people bought it and liked it. Now publishers are scared to depict muslim terrorists in books? We're going under and fast."
i think i know the reason why.
the muslim world has been for its entire 100% illiterate and or they read only the koran.
Nowadays muslims have reached the astonishing rate of 10% literacy and they start whining left and right.
Some people are better off ignorant.
maryam says to not worry, islam is the RoP®
aww and I was going to write a movie about a muslim terrorist since nobody else seems to be doing it! yes its true! Your friend ALLIES here was planning it because aside from 911 documentaries I couldnt see any terrorist movies with ISLAMIC terrorists and God knows we have enough of them nowadays!
Then I saw why. In a recent intervew with director Tony Scott of DEJA VU the new movie, the host asked him "why didnt you make your terrorists muslim, that would have added to the realism of the plot no?"
Rough paraphrase of what he said: "its not done like that nowadays as to not offend muslims. Its just not done."
OHHHHHHHHHH now I saw why I had that open niche for my movie idea --its not that they never thought of it but that they are all scared chickens! Because if it was a movie against say Christians well now then --Christians dont strap bombs to their asses and crash planes into your buildings do they know bud? neither do jews or buddishts. Ah but those dear lovable peaceful muslims DO dont they?
SO thats what religious people have to do to get hollywood to 'respect' them? Act like mass murderiing psychos?
Hollywood and Hollywood 'people' :
go F#%@ YOURSELF.

I would like to see the full quote and the context of that quote. That being said, Jesus Christ didn't kill anybody, nor did He commit suicide. He was executed under Roman authority on a technical level. On a theological level He offered Himself up to the Father as a sacrifice to redeem the human race. A suicide bomber intends to kill others. The author of this book appears to know absolutely nothing about even the most fundamental Christian belief.
Jesus as suicide bomber? Talk about rewriting history to suit an agenda.
I watched "Farenhype 9/11" (note the "hype") tonight. What an excellent documentary. I knew Michael Moore hated George W. Bush but I didn't know Moore outright lied in his movie. Very interesting.
perhaps it is time for people to take up moslem pen names and write in to say that they fear resentment from the public because by not publishing out of fear they are giving the impression that my peaceful religion is not and now my life will be harder because of the islamophobic stereotype....
or if you prefer no pseudonym just write to the publisher to say you find their behaviour very disturbing because it perpetuates the image of islam as violent and that is wrong because if it was violent and vengeful, it would be banned in a civilised society, etc, etc...
There really should be an award for this sort of thing: The Cowering Dhimmi. The statuette (in bronze, not gold of course) depicts a kneeling man in a robe with a wide belt and a head-scarf. His head is bowed, his back is bent, and his hands are raised in supplication, begging for mercy from his moslem masters.
The award goes to the week's outstanding example of cringing cowardice in the face of moslem thuggery.

yeah that was great! I loved that scene where the muslims are crying as the undercover US team member pretends to be one of them and explains he wants to help in their terrorizing because those americans bombed all his sheep. lol

I am formulating a theory about this; basically it is that in this day and age, Christianity is an easy target for people whose beef is really with organized religion in general, a perfectly legitimate stance, in my view. But to single out Christianity as a prime offender, while neglecting to mention all the other world religions which have had outrageous acts perpetrated in their name, is a grave moral oversight resulting from nothing more complicated than moral cowardice.
Think about it: what risk is the writer who calls Jesus “history’s first suicide bomber” taking? How likely is it that tens or hundreds of thousands of faithful, whipped into a frenzy by their own religious leaders, will riot in the streets and wave banners calling for his execution? That those same religious leaders will offer huge bounties as incentive to carry out his execution? That the embassies of his home country will be attacked and firebombed around the world? Or that the lives of his family, his publishers, his translators, or anyone remotely connected to his work, will be also threatened?
I think we all know how very unlikely this is. The fact is that, for all Christianity’s bloody and disgraceful history, the vast majority of Christians around the world today have belatedly taken to heart the true message of Jesus Christ, which is, as painful and difficult as it may be, not to hate your enemies but to forgive them. And I think that deep down, the Christian-bashers know that, and know that in making these appalling statements they are risking nothing aside from -- to paraphrase Oscar Wilde -- the annoyance of being forgiven.
That being said, I say boycott his sorry ass.
