JAKARTA (Reuters) - President Bush is not welcome to visit Jakarta later this month because his policies have hurt Muslims, a body representing Islamic clerics in Indonesia says.Bush will visit Indonesia, the world's most populous Islamic nation, on November 20 on a brief stopover after attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam.
"We are aware of the tradition that guests should be honored and welcomed, but we would prefer if the government did not invite people who have hurt Muslims around the world," Ma'ruf Amin, deputy chairman of the Indonesian Council of Ulemas (MUI), was quoted on Thursday as saying by the state Antara news agency.
"The resentment is natural, given Bush's actions, such as the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan and his support for Israel which has killed Palestinians and Lebanese."
Ma'ruf Amin is right. Let's have apologies all around. Ma'ruf Amin can apologize for the Islamic jihad against Israel, for the 9/11 attack that led to the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, and for all the jihad atrocities throughout history, one by one. By the time he's through, Bush's visit to Indonesia will be ancient history.

I just read an email by a marine over on AtlasShrugs.com & he brought up some great points- our war on terror could be won IF congress would send enough troops- he stated that the war would be nearly won in Iraq already & we could be concentrating our efforts elsewhere- like Iran, N. Korea & now it appears Indonesia as well. Perhaps if we'd won the war decisively a year or so ago- all these other rogue countries would think twice about testing the limits with us, but as it stands now- it appears we'll be hnading over a vitory to the terrorists & that doesn nothign to ligitimize our strength in the eyes of lesser countries who wish us harm- it emboldens them- What a sad state of affairs this whole issue has become & will become if Nancy pelosi gets her way & we surrender & comply to hte terrorists.

Excellent point pythagoris- short- blunt, and to the point. The problem is "Who cares'? The democrats care- that's who- they feel the need to apologize to the terrorists in hopes of being the last ones attacked. Sadly, we've just elected a majority of people that feel that we should apologize to the terrorists for 'being American' and also, to apologize ot the world for being American. The party of appeasement, surrender, and comply is now our world spokespeople, and as such, Terrorists will simply be laughing in our faces knowing that whenever they make a threat, we will back down and cower like spineless dogs.
If more people however had yours and mine thjoughts on the issues though- terrorists would understand in no uncertain terms, that if they threaten us, it will be the last thing they ever do! and terrorists will fade away like the snakes that they are and be a thing of the past.
