Fox News reporters freed for $2 million

Watch for more kidnappings. After all, it works. Centanni and Wiig Update: "Fox News reporters freed for $2 million: Terrorists used cash for arms to 'hit Zionists,' payment said to encourage more abductions," by Aaron Klein for WorldNetDaily.com, with thanks to News4U:

JERUSALEM – Palestinian terror groups and security organizations in the Gaza Strip received $2 million from a U.S. source in exchange for the release of Fox News employees Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, who were kidnapped here last summer, a senior leader of one of the groups suspected of the abductions told WND.

The terror leader, from the Gaza-based Popular Resistance Committees, said his organization's share of the money was used to purchase weapons, which he said would be utilized "to hit the Zionists."

He said he expects the payments for Centanni and Wiig's freedom will encourage Palestinian groups to carry out further kidnappings.

Officials associated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party and its security organization, the Preventative Security Services, confirmed to WND money was paid for the release of the Fox News reporters.

A senior leader of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group, the declared "military wing" of Fatah, said the group received a small percentage of the $2 million, which all parties interviewed said was transferred in cash.

Who paid that money? Probably some loony lefty who wants Israel gone. Shame on that pig. I hope
when more kidnappings take place this idiot will feel good about himself. Lousy bastard.

Don't give them more money damn it! They will only keep on doing it if you encourage them with money!

The only effective way to stop either kidnappings or suicide bombings is to target the families of the perpetrators. If they kidnap someone, sieze their parents, wives, and children, then up the ante. Tell them to release their hostages unharmed or we will kill our hostages. If a suicide bomber destroys a disco or bus stop, execute his entire family. This destroys the incentive.

Finally, someone who understands! I've been advocating this forever!

Start the bulldozers... don't stop until they reach the Sinai.

I doubt it was a lefty loony, more likely it was the administration at FOX that wanted to put a good face on all of this.

Man, oh, man, the world is doing moral headstands 24/7 these days....

If physical cowardice and moral cowardice fetches that high a price tag, I proclaim to all Moslem activists in America:

I am willing to sell out my anti-Dhimmi principles for a 33% cut of the take (i.e., $333,000 American, cash). That way I could buy a small ranch in Northern Idaho to escape Moslems. Call me to negotiate my fake kidnapping. I'll play the role of victim, you play the role of deeply offended Moslem activist.

* 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 *

Don't be offended, Tim Russert and Wolf and Bill and Frank Rich and Katie won't call you a Moslem activist, or even a Jihadist. You'll be called an insurgent or a supporter of Palestinian cause.

Wow, pay $2 million, and also gain two new converts! That's gotta be very profitable. No wonder the terrorists will continue to do it. Like the Abu Sayyaf in Philippines.

Well, a triple win for islam.
First win was the money.
Second win was the converts.
The third win will be when they behead these two for apostacy!

I watched this on the news (FOX) and never once heard a thing about a ransom payoff.
Sounds like deliberate deception by someone.

If you think the reporters would have been released by converting alone, think again.

The moslems sold the moslems to Infidels and should be charged with something but I doubt the ummah will see it that way, all they see is win win win!...............at all costs!

Alarmed Pig Farmer - Yeah, and if you're a woman, the CBC will call you a "demonstrator".

I agree that the families of kidnappers/terrorists should be taken hostage but I do NOT agree they should be harmed in any way. Instead they should live in a wholesome, Christian environment. They should have no access to the Koran but rather be immersed in Christian theology

LOL.. then the terrorists will kidnap more (and they will harm the kidnappers, unlike yourself), convert the hostages, get ranson AND their family released. Liberal foolishness is amusing, sometimes........

Read kidnappers as 'hostages'... but is still funny.

Maybe paying ransom to kidnappers should be made a criminal offense with punishments as severe as those for kidnapping? After all, paying ransom only encourages more kidnapping, right?

It should be made absolutely clear to all westerners, journalists included, that going to these ME countries contains a risk of kidnapping, and that no ransom payments will be permitted to be made, because the payments assist terrorism.

Why doesn't the Main Stream Media just give Hamas money, I mean, they're on their side anyway? Obviously, there is no coffee to smell when you wake up in Palestinian captivity.

It will be the women who are the strong ones. It's interesting to note that the men journalists converted at gunpoint, while the woman journalist who was kidnapped didn't.
She told them she wanted to be shot not beheaded.
I can't remember what media she represented. Anyone know?

............

Yes, this was Jill Carroll of the Christian Science Monitor. She is also a contributor to my local paper, the San Francisco Chronicle. The paper ran her harrowing accounts a month or so ago of her kidnapping and captivity.
