TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iran test-fired dozens of missiles, including the Shahab-3 that can reach Israel, in military maneuvers Thursday that it said were aimed at putting a stop to the role of world powers in the Persian Gulf region.The show of strength came as Iran remains locked in dispute with the West over its nuclear program, which Washington says is geared to producing atomic weapons but Tehran says is only for generating electricity. The maneuvers came three days after U.S.-led warships finished naval exercises in the Gulf that Iran branded as "adventurist."
State television reported that several kinds of missiles were tested, and broadcast footage of them being fired from mobile launchers.
"We want to show our deterrent and defensive power to trans-regional enemies, and we hope they will understand the message," the head of the Revolutionary Guards, Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi, said in a clear reference to the United States, Britain and France, who were among the six nations that took part in the Gulf maneuvers earlier this week.

If Israel strikes I hope they strike hard and ignore whatever BS the world starts throwing at them about "innocent victims". Leaving THIS business unfinished will mean the end of Israel.

Most of what I have read so far states that this missile has a range of around 1,200 to 1,500 Kms. or 720 miles to 900 miles. However there is a possibly advanced model of either the Shahab-3 or even the Shahab-4 that the claim is for 2,000 Kms. to 2,500 Kms . or 1,200 to 1,500 miles down range.
The distances between Tehran, and Tel Aviv are approximatly 1,000 miles.
I hope slowly the desire for extreme measures against Iran is seen but hopefully the free world will not have to suffer another 9/11 first. If suitcase nukes are detonated in the West THEN Iran is toast.

Yes, Abdul, we understand. Comin' through loud and clear. We may be monkeys and dogs, but we're not thick. Subtlety is not regarded as a typically Islamic characteristic, so we infidels generally try not to read too much into "messages" like the missile demonstration.

If you encircle a country and deploy armies at their door! Threaten its security; and scare them of their existence; deprive them of their legitimate right of their defence.
Restrict them acquiring of even basic technology.
Make them vulnerable from all side and run a campaign to malign them.

Any one with an IQ above room temperature may come to a conclusion that the persecuted will certainly devise some ways to get rid of the oppressor and to defeat him and frustrate his plan.
