November 10 (Compass Direct News) – Unknown assailants bombed the entrance of a Catholic church in Mosul last week, destroying three sets of doors as well as windows in the church, monastery and guest house.A source near the church at the time of the November 1 blast told Compass that the explosion at 7 p.m. shattered the exterior iron doors of the Dominican Clock Church compound and flattened two sets of wood doors. The discharge ripped through the windows of the monastery chapel where Dominican priests were holding evening prayer.
No one was harmed in the blast.
“The whole area heard the explosion, it was so big,” said one eyewitness of the destruction, speaking to Compass on condition of anonymity the evening after the attack.
Three Dominican priests had returned to the church to celebrate mass on Sunday (October 29), after spending a week outside Mosul to avoid the city’s daily violence.
“They were afraid of kidnapping but never thought that anything would happen to them if they were inside the church compound,” a source close to the priests commented.
The Dominicans believe the attack was more than just a random act of violence, the source confirmed, requesting anonymity for security reasons. “You don’t set off a blast that big unless you are planning something more,” he said.
I saw Rashid Khalidi, of all people, on Charlie Rose last night. How come I never see Robert Spencer on that show? Have I ever seen Daniel Pipes? I don't think so. What gives? Charlie Rose invites all kinds of guests and is watched by the powers that be. Spencer should be given his chance.

One would think that the muslims here would want to go back to the middle east and attempt their "moderation" in hopes of stopping the killing. Honestly if I was a muslim I would sit down and think: "wait we treat them badly in our countries but they welcome us with open arms in their countries --are the kafir really the 'bad guys'?"

QUEBEC (CP) - A Montreal community health clinic has come under fire for excluding men from their neonatal classes to accommodate the sensibilities of Muslim, Sihk and Hindu women.
ADQ Leader Mario Dumont said the prohibition exceeds the limits of common sense. He said it's unreasonable that a Quebec taxpayer is barred from joining his pregnant girlfriend at a health clinic because his presence would offend others.
Religious and cultural accommodations in light of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms no longer makes sense, Dumont said ahead of a weekend convention of l'Action democratique du Quebec.
He pointed as well to a suggestion by Montreal police that female officers call male colleagues to avoid offending male Hasidic Jews.
"We are completely moving to misusing the Charter and that is starting to worry me."
Dumont said it's not racist for a majority of citizens to defend their own values.
Quebec and Canada welcome many immigrants. They are treated well, offered the same rights as others and given access to health cards and welfare, Dumont said.
"A society doing that can't be accused of racism," he said.
But in exchange for that generosity, new arrivals should respect the values of the society they are entering.
"Quebec police didn't kidnap anyone in the world to force them to come to Quebec."

In Saddam's wars with the Kurds hundreds of Assyrian Christian villages were destroyed and their inhabitants were rendered homeless, driven out of their historic homeland, and scattered as refugees in large cities or in the neighbouring countries. Hundreds, and I do not exagerate (Google it) of ancient churches, some dating to the very early centuries of Christianity, were bombed and turned into rubble. The teaching of the Syriac (now, mainly, a Christian) language was prohibited and Assyrian Christians were forced to give their children Arabic names in an effort to undermine their true identity. Those who wished to hold government jobs had to sign ethnicity correction papers which declared them to be, often untruthfully, arabs.
The fall of Saddam which, it was hoped, would bring peace to Iraq has unleashed religious violence against the Christian communities in that country. Unless special attention is given to their plight by the US and its allies and the Iraqii government then these ancient peoples will continue to suffer grievously, just as they have in the past, from the moslem oppressors.
Let us be under no illusions here. Western forces in Iraq have no brief to protect the native and ancient Christian populations, no brief to protect Churches, Priests and Patriarchs of the Christian persuasion. The only brief that these forces hold is to bring 'peace' and 'stability' to Iraq, and if that means treating with the majority moslem population, to the detriment of all others, then so be it as far as they are concerned.
I'm afraid that Hugh Fitzgerald's oft stated position is quite correct. That is, as I understand it, that we should leave Iraq and provide for a division of the territory between Sunni, Shia and Kurd (and through that, probably, control Iraq to some extent) and, alongside that, protect our - or, at least, those who would support us and our liberal (with a small 'l') way of life - people who would support our ultimate aims - such as the ancient Christians of Mesopotamia and, probably, the Kurds.

This site gives a quick run down of the treatment that Muslims received from their "brothers" when Palestine was partitioned by the British. CHURCH IN GOJBULJA IN NORTH KOSOVO DESECRATED AND ROBBED
Late Monday night or early Tuesday morning the church of St. Paraskeva in
the village of Gojbulja near Vucitrn was desecrated and looted. This church
has been the frequent target of vandals who, as a rule, remain unknown. The
broken into church was found yesterday by Serbs who came there on the eve of
the feast of the Holy Unmercenary Physicians (Sts. Cosmas and Damian) to
light candles.
Protopresbyter Bogomir Stevic said that unknown perpetrators broke down the
entrance door and destroyed the church interior, stealing the cross, the
chalice and several other church artifacts.
Small change was scattered throughout the church. The incident has been
reported to the Kosovo Police Service, which failed to provide an escort for
priests from Zvecan to Gojbulja with the explanation that such requests for
an escort need to be submitted two days in advance, said Stevic.
UNMIK regional spokesman Larry Miller said that a incident involving theft
from a church had been reported to the police station in Vucitrn.

INFLAMMATORY GRAFITTI ON CHURCH IN POTPECE
BANJA LUKA, November 12 - On the church of the Holy Trinity in Potpece,
Srebrenik municipality, as yet unknown perpetrators wrote grafitti of
derogatory content today, including "Hang the Serbs from the willow trees"
and "Alahu ekber" and drew a half moon and star, the church parish of Tuzla
advised.
This church has been repeated vandalized in the past three years and this
most recent act of vandalism, it was emphasized in a written statement, is
embittering the lives of the Serb returnees to this village, who are few in
number.

TONGUE STOLEN FROM CHURCH BELL
PRISTINA, November 11 - Local residents of the village of Gornja Brnjica,
located northeast of Pristina, noticed this morning upon going to the local
cemetery that the tongue has been stolen from the bell on the church of Sts.
Peter and Paul; as a result, the church bell could not ring.
The local residents called the Kosovo Police Service, which also found that
the electrical cable providing the church with power had been torn out.
"Unknown persons entered the church via the roof after first removing the
protective wiring KFOR had placed around the church," village president
Dragi Djordjevic told SRNA.
Local residents have announce that tomorrow they will search the surrounding
woods in the presence of the police in an attempt to find the bell tongue.
They are at Europe's doorstep.. They tricked the USA into helping them defeat the Serbs who now have help from noone.
Switzerland is subject to these outrages now and soon this will spread all over Europe.
It took me years into my adult life to learn that there'd once been a flourishing civilization in Eqypt. Noone ever explained the presence of the Pyramids. Now it is clear.
Future generations once day will look at the remains of our civilisations and wonder what we wear all about and what caused our demise.
Egypt is a clear example that the intellectually and morally weaker is quite capable of overcoming the stronger and morally and intellectually superior. For what they lack in intelligence they make up for in shrewdness and in treachery. In ruthlessness and in single-mindedness. As for their morals.. feh!
All of us that are on this board and on similar sites must begin to formulate direct actions we can take to preserve ourselves and our societies.
There is a great book I read called "The American Twilight". Let us hope our future doesn't go down the path described in that book!
