BANGKOK, Thailand - More than 300 schools in Thailand's restive south will close indefinitely Monday after attacks by suspected Muslim insurgents left two teachers dead, a regional representative for teachers said.The closure affects all primary and secondary schools in the province of Pattani, where two teachers have been shot and killed by suspected insurgents in the past two days.
In one of the killings, attackers shot a school principal Friday, and then set his body on fire. The principal became the 59th teacher or school official killed in three years of violence, said Bunsom Thongsriprai, president of Teachers' Association in Pattani.
"Teachers can't bear what has happened," Bunsom said. "They are paranoid, worried and afraid."
Bunsom said that Pattani's 336 public schools, which serve about 100,000 students, would reopen when teachers feel safe.
In other words, when the peace of Sharia reigns.
It suits Islamists to close schools. Schools have a tendency to inculcate tricky traits like rationality and logic which are antithetical to Islam.
Look at Afghanistan under the Taleban (Taleban, apparently, meaning 'students'). A bunch of illiterate, murderous, mysoginistic, incompetent losers from a vision of hell. Alas the so-called 'students' only ever studied one book - the Koran - so one can't be too surprised that they turned out to be inhuman.
I completely understand why, and hold no ill feelings toward Mr. Spencer for doing it.

I just want to point out that the BBC, perhaps the most important and widely-followed news organization in the world, has not seen fit to publish news of the school closings, the arson, the latest killings in Thailand. They, like other professional terror enablers, are engaged in a systematic campaign of disinformation and self-censorship in order to hide from the public the full extent of the threat from Islam.
Or perhaps their taxpayer-funded resources are simply overallocated at the moment, focused as they are on the launch of their new Arabic news channel.
Where ever they go schools disappear. Yet some in this country are allowing them into our schools, can anyone explain to me how these (deleted) are not the enemies of the people? Some of these so called bastions of free speech and big ideas should after the next escalation be bull dozed and then sprinkled with salt, the enemies of the people rounded up and shipped out to their fatherland. The pied pipers of jihad are fast at work, looking forward to the killings of those very students they teach. To all the educators that sit by and watch, be prepared, they will be coming for you. If you think there is something to fear from these jihadis, sell out our children and you will see how we feel about it. There are rotten apples in the basket, and one rotten apple will spoil the whole bunch. Are the Thai authorities just going to hand the Islamists the very victory they are wishing for? I understand the need to protect the teachers and this closure is probably a prudent step to take. But I would make sure their little victory came at a dear cost. Like closing all the mosques in Pattani until the teachers feel safe enough to re-open the schools.
My heart is saddened when a beautiful people and culture are set upon by the barbaric fascists of Islam. These devils cannot be appeased, they cannot be reasoned with, they can only be killed. And killed they must be if we are to beat back the evil that is jihad.
Perhaps this is the country I should go to to begin my crusade. For the west just isn't up to doing what needs to be done in their own societies as yet and to do anything here would land me in jail where crusading tends to be somewhat ineffectual. I hope I’m just saying this crusading thing in jest but I get so frustrated hearing about this crap day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year.
When are the authorities that are charged with the protection of the societies they serve, going to draw a line and say no more. And no more to civilized society sanctioning Sharia law being implemented in the little enclaves they’ve built in our midst or vast parts of a country they already inhabit.
The Thai authorities are making a grave mistake if they think that by allowing these scumbags their Sharia law, they can be appeased into living quietly with their neighbors.
The fact is they must be killed. And having an appeasing muslim leader just isn’t going to do it for Thailand. What they need is a leader, a crusader, who will cut the barbarians down in their tracks. Perhaps a crusader such as myself.

Most of the Buddhist temples in Thailand run schools (primary or secondary) which offer educational opportunities for local children who,s parent cannot afford to pay school fees.
These schools are located in the same complex where Buddhist temples are located.
It is quite clear that the object of the Jihadis is to close all the Buddhist schools,so that parents have no choice but to send their children to the islamic schools.
If these Thai teachers owned and used uzis they would not feel threatened. Maybe a little kung fu or thai kick boxing would help them too.
The best defense is self defense.

I am not an expert on Thai history, but one might reasonably assume that one of the major reasons investment lags in the south is because of the presence of large numbers of murderous Muslim extremists. The resulting violence and confusion hardly make for an atmosphere condusive to a vibrant economy.
Just in the last month or so the victims have included ethnic-Chinese businessmen, Christian schoolgirls on their way to class, shopkeepers, Hindu temple-goers, mendicant Buddhist monks--these last while escorted by Thai army personell.

Well, of course, these teachers are hardly paranoid--that would imply an unreasonable fear. The attacks on teachers, school administrators and school children show that the fear is very real indeed.
Tgusa said, "Where ever they go schools disappear". This is all too true. Islamists have attacked schools, teachers or students just recently in Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, the Parisian suburbs, and perhaps most infamously at Beslan in Russia. I'm sure this is just a partial list.
Radical Islam always sows ignorance and violence in its wake.
The thai people can forget about peace for at least the next few decades.
This problem is grow. Even if the muslim south is handed over to the islamists as a separate country, the problem will only become worse.
The islamists will demand more land, and then more and more till entire thailand becomes islamist. Thats is their strategy.
Closing the schools will only embolden the islamists. They see it as their victory. A couple of murders and the entire region is brought down to its knees. The road to bangkok is not that far. This will also adversly affect tourism, international business and many other things.
The entire thai civilization is at stake.
