Read some of the comments on HotAir & someone asked 'if we demand that they (Iraq) suspend Sharia law, then will they still be a democracy?" One commentor pointed out that if people suspend freedom in favour of Strict Sharia law, then that would be forfeiting democracy. Bingo- and we'd STILL have an obligation to intervein on behalf of the people IF the law resulted in crimes against humanity - some good talking points in the comments sections there.

The only use of a constitution based on Islam is as toilet paper. Any government based on the madness known as Islam is no government at all. It is a disaster, pure and simple.
As for Saddam, hang him high, hang him proud.
I am not happy to see Saddam hanging, especially at the hands of an islamic government.
After Japan and germany were occupied following their WW2 defeat, they didn't end up with a tyrannical government.
The first thing the "freed" Iraq government did was setting up an islamic government and an islamic constitution.
Where is the improvement there?
