I have never heard him sound so rattled. May it happen many, many times in the future -- as interviewers ask him the questions that he should be asked instead of the softballs he usually gets.
When Mahdi Bray complains that Muslims have been questioned "inappropriately" at airports, Ingraham responds, "Too bad." Bravo. I myself have been searched and questioned at Reagan National Airport and other airports. I have never contacted the ACLU about it, and never will. Malkin is right: Bray and his group "really don't want us to do anything to prevent another 9/11." To prevent one, we will all be inconvenienced. That's life after 9/11.

Millions of Americans are inconvenienced every day because of 9-11, If you change planes because of a change of plans you can expect a thorough shake down by TSA agents; thanks to 9-11. Because of the shake down I ended up missing a connection 2 years ago, and yes I was upset, but I understood the concerns and found it was going to be faster to rent a car instead of waiting for the next flight.

The phrase "Uncle Tom" exists as a pejorative, intended to describe a certain kind of black man deemed subservient to whites. But another phrase needs to be invented, to describe the black man who is subservient to Arabs and to Muslims. Every time an Islamic appeaser, cleric, supporter, reporter, or self proclaimed knowledgeable person appears on TV, radio or in person, they should be presented with the hard facts on the current (and past) activies of the Religion of Peace. The facts will generally be in direct conflict with whatever message they are presenting. With the advent of live broadcasts, hi-speed internet, and a growing knowledge of Islam (nurtured in part, by the Islamists themselves), the world is being awakened to the real Intentions of world domination by Islam.
You must look at any Islamic country and then ask yourself: Is this what I want for my childrens future?

I believe you are right in your assessment that it was a probe to test security and reaction! I was always curious about why the seat belt extenders were requested, and in the HotAir mp3 linked in the article, an airline technician stated that the extenders can be used to rope off an area of the plane by connecting them between two aisle seats, and has been done before in a previous hijacking.
Not only that, but I also think that they could be used as a weapon, like a garrote type of device to subdue a flight attendant, or something...
Then again, maybe they were going to hijack that plane! Either way, U.S. Air was right in kicking them off.
What pisses me off is that CAIR is using this as an opportunity to play the civil rights violation card, yet if this happened to an unbeliever, no one would touch it with a 10 foot pole!

From time to time, I have wondered if 9/11 happened too soon in the time table of Islam to take over the United States. By being early it became the wake up call before the storm that is now in Europe.

has been affected by Islam - not a major inconvenience by any means, but I think of Islam's "contribution" to life in my city every time I look for a rubbish bin on the concourse of the railway station. If one examines other Islamic practices, one finds a similarity with notions of what constitutes traditional slavery. For instance, in traditional slavery, the slave owner used female slaves for sex and the “production” of more slaves. In islam, Muslim women are also regarded as mere sex slaves and the production of more muslims. Unlike the traditional slave, the muslim woman, due to FGM, has not even the solace of getting some sexual pleasure. Again, islam regards its young, and even children, as mere canon fodder, very much akin to the views and practices of the feudal lord vis-à-vis the serfs on his estate.
Finally, Islam means submission or subjugation, with no concept or room for Free Will, as in Christianity. To me this “submission” is simply slavery, as it gives no freedom of thought to its subject people.

Uncle Tom in the novel was not subservient to whites, only militant blacks in later generations would view it that way. He was humble, and too many blacks view humility as a negative trait.
Mahdi Bray is a black convert to islam, not subservient to islam. He doesn't care one whit about islam. Few muslims do. The whole point of blacks who convert to islam, or those who chant in islam's name, is to make a political statement against "the man". Islam is a convenient vehicle to do that.
Since the revolution in Iran in '79, islam has experienced a political revival. For the militant muslims, islam is nothing more than a battering ram to smash the object of their jealousy, the object of their resentment, the object of their perceived subjugation.
Islam's historically antognistic relationship to the western world, and islam's antagonistic history with the white man's religion, Christianity, is what make islam so attractive to American militant blacks and militant arabs around the world.
An enemy of an enemy is a friend of mine. That is the simple truism of human nature that makes not only the Leftist whites side with islam, but militant blacks as well. And the more militant their thoughts, the more likely they are to actually go the whole hog and officially convert. We see this same psychological dynamic in whites as well. The more radical they are against western society, the more likely they are to convert to islam. The whites that convert to islam are some, if not the most, bothersome of all muslims.
But make no mistake. Blacks today in the West, are subservient to no one, nor to any imaginary diety. Mentally, they are in a constant adversarial state with the rest of society. Zena, I have wondered the same thing. I have not heard that ANY passengers filed suit, however. Maybe I've missed it.
The fact is that many states provide a cause of action for "the intentional infliction of emotional distress" which is a tort compensable in cold hard cash.
Of course, it's not as easy as just saying "my feelings were hurt, I was frightened, etc."
But it's not too difficult to imagine a plaintiff having to undergo some therapy, maybe even a heart procedure, or something like that that shows some ACTUAL DAMAGES IN TERMS OF MONEY SPENT. After all, the defendant's attorney will legitimately point out that "if M. Passenger was so frightened and hurt, why didn't he bother to see a doctor?" This old question stops a lot of false claims every day.
If M. Passenger spent some dough in the local hospital, then every imam acting up can be sued with some degree of expectation of success. In the process of the suit, Passenger's lawyer can subpoena all the cell-phone records, financial records, employment records, passport records, and just about everything else.
I can't begin to tell you how easy it is to search someone's telephone records going back a year or two. I have done it in divorce cases many times. Look for the girlfriend (the last call at night and the first one in the morning), look for the hidden bank, bookie, broker, bimbo, etc. It's legal, and almost costless, and most of the time it can be done without the other side ever finding out until you drop the bomb on them in the middle of mediation or trial.
For a committed plaintiff and a clever attorney, busting the asses of those imams would be sport for a rainy day. Screwing the enemy by fax and FedEx, all while dressed in your pajamas and sipping coffee or hot chocolate.
You can run up their legal fees to ten or twenty thousand dollars for practically pennies, and then make them tell you where they got the money.
Those bastards are taqking advantage of our legal system like a bunch of welfare queens, and it's damn near time some real Americans started to use the same laws that the left has used to climb on the victim's gravy train. The SWORD OF JUSTICE HAS TWO EDGES.

There are a couple of schools of thought on the conversion of blacks to Islam. I think it was rooted in anti-jewish (Ashkenazi), anti-white, anti-christian, anti-establishment, anti-western, and a few other antis which began in the 1960s. It started out as a political movement having deep roots in racial hatred for all things "white." Various Muslims have effectively capitalized on that hatred. I remember in the Iranian hostage crises, during the 1970s, how the black hostages were released etc. etc.
Fortunately, the majority of blacks don't accept the dhimmitude of Islam and avoid it like the plague it is.

Anyone out there have suggestions for the Muslim equivalent of "Uncle Tom"?
I propose "Uncle Jacob" -- one of Prophet Muhammad's black slaves:
Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya says about [Muhammad's slaves]: "Muhammad had many male and female slaves. He used to buy and sell them, but he purchased (more slaves) than he sold, especially after God empowered him by His message, as well as after his immigration from Mecca. He (once) sold one black slave for two. His name was Jacob al-Mudbir."

Hugh, in light of your reference to Zanzibar, I think "Uncle Zanj" could be a candidate. Interestingly enough, there seems to exist quite a number of words in Arabic for slave...which for me at least, brings to mind the plethora of words the Inuit people have for snow.
I was on the Tube in London on the way to the city from Heathrow two months after 7/7 and a smartly dressed Muslim got on carrying a really colorful and bulging rucksack, with what looked like powder in it. I was certain that he was doing this to scare people.
At airports I have to put my toothpaste deodorant etc. in a plastic sack, I take my computer out, I remove my belt and watch, the only people who hijack and blow up planes are Muslims, I do not believe in Allah, nor do I think that Mohamed was a prophet so the chances of me carrying out these acts are absolute zero and yet I accept the security chcks.
Their strategy is simple spread fear and hate, weaken the screening by shouting racists so another attack can be made easier, that is how I see their whining and playing on this. Laura did an excellent job of saying what decent honest people think, well done.

Ingraham and Malkin's approach to this interview differs from PC journalism in that the latter often uses PC assumptions as a mere excuse to take no risks of being punished by jihadists. It's not that PC journalism always really believes PC silliness about Islam. Often it's just convenient to believe PC, if you are terrified to give offense and possibly get blown up, poisoned, shot or run over. Ingraham and Malkin have guts.
Actually, better than Uncle Dhim is remote_control's suggestion of "Uncle Jacob," after Muhammad's black slave Jacob. Unless Muhammad had another black slave that historians consider to have been more subservient or slavish than Jacob was...
I can't understand why Blacks would convert to Islam when that ideology has enslaved them for centuries. In the 1800's the Civilized world fought for freedom of all people. Yet today Islam enslaves not only other inferior peoples but also all of their own women. Slaves to do the work and women are sex slaves.

Two names popped up when seeking someone who knows a word or phrase which may already exist for "Uncle Tom" in Swahili, or in one of the Kwa languages of West Africa, or in Igbo, Yoruba, or Hausa.
2004- University of Ibadan's Department of African Languages contracted an English geriatric academic called Kay Williamson. Her task? To set up every dialect of Igbo, especially Ikwerre as a separate language.
Despite being in her 90s or possibly more, Williamson set up shop at the University of Port Harcourt and went about setting up every single Igbo dialect as a separate language, complete with her own orthography and primers.
So far she has created Ukwuani, Ezaa, Izii, Ikwo, Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye, Ogba etc. as separate languages distinct from Igbo.
She single handedly translated the Bible into Ezaa and there is an ongoing project to translate the Bible into Ikwerre. A couple of months ago, she proclaimed that she had discovered a brand new language at Etche.
