Mainstream media jihad against Israel

dumpnot.jpg

Charles Johnson at LGF (with thanks to Michelle Malkin for the mag cover above) has a particularly egregious example of how the mainstream media is not just biased -- it is actively fighting for the jihadists.

You’re not going to believe this one.

All our suspicions about mainstream media slanting and distorting the news from the Middle East are confirmed in a bombshell of a post by Bruno Stevens, at the Lightstalkers pro photographers’ forum: The Lebanon ‘garbage dump’ story: complete explanation. (Hat tip: Snapped Shot.)

His photograph, published by both US News and World Report and Time Magazine, had a caption describing the scene as the wreckage of an Israeli jet shot down by Hizballah. In this post, Stevens reveals that the captions he sent in with his pictures described the scene accurately—but editors at the magazines changed the captions to completely alter the story.

This caption clearly says that there is no proof that an Israeli jet had been shot down and that the objective was indeed to destroy a legitimate military target.

...A week later TIME published this image shot at the same time as the first...

They choose to caption it this way (I had NO control in this matter), they HAD my original caption: “The wreckage of a downed Israeli jet that was targeting Hizballah trucks billows smoke behind a Hizballah gunman in Kfar Chima, near Beirut. Jet fuel set the surrounding area ablaze.”

The anti-Israel bias of mainstream media has never been revealed more nakedly; the editors who selected this photograph deliberately changed the caption to convey an anti-Israel message, throwing the truth right out the window to do it.

And even more damning is the photo they chose not to publish, showing a medium range ground-to-ground missile launcher hidden in a civilian truck—on a Lebanese Army base.

In a sane world, George Bush and Tony Blair would publicly note such evidence of military action among civilians, abetted by the Lebanese army, and give their full support to Israeli actions against Hizballah. And they would warn people that in no way is Time magazine in any sense an objective news source.

Read it all.

What may one call a state created from colonized land, stolen from its native inhabitants and turned over to European invaders through a process of militarily-enforced ethnic cleansing and occupation? While one may call it "the United States," one may also call it "Israel"--but one certainly cannot, and should not call it a "democratically-created state."

In 1947, Palestinian Arabs owned 93% of the land of Palestine. Their land had been subject to British colonial rule since the end of World War I, at which point those same colonizers made vague promises to the nascent Zionist movement of a "Jewish national home" in Mandatory Palestine. The Zionist movement was, in the early twentieth century, but one fringe of Jewish cultural and social organization--and a reactionary one, formed in nationalistic reaction to the internationalist organizing of Jewish socialists, communists and anarchists; as such, despite (and perhaps because of) European anti-Jewish hatred, the Zionist movement found support among various European political sectors.

No wonder people go to the Internet for news. Who can trust the mainstream media anymore?

During the Hesbo Lebanon conflict recently, used to go to biased AP news (definitely MSMedia) on Yahoo and make comments which would always be headlined "AP IS CRAP".

Following would be the explanation of the, usually anti Israel or or anti West bias.

One way to get one's message across.

At some point the editor has to develop a nervous tick (a la Pink Panther inspector).

And Ramon.

More stupid propaganda.

Take your medication: a stupid heart and loser and hate pill; give one to your pal Chomsky while your at it.

In 1947, Palestinian Arabs owned 93% of the land of Palestine.

Besides the ficticious figures, in 1947, the Jews were called Palestinians, too. Just in case you thought otherwise.

Anyway, Mister Know-It-All, this one's for you:

"According to British statistics, more than 70% of the land in what would become Israel was not owned by Arab farmers, it belonged to the mandatory government. Those lands reverted to Israeli control after the departure of the British. Nearly 9% of the land was owned by Jews and about 3% by Arabs who became citizens of Israel. That means only about 18% belonged to Arabs who left the country before and after the Arab invasion of Israel."

- Moshe Aumann, "Land Ownership in Palestine, 1880-1948," in Michael Curtis, et al., The Palestinians, (NJ: Transaction Books, 1975), p. 29, quoting p. 257 of the Government of Palestine, Survey of Palestine

Ah, Ramon, how disappointing to find that you may actually live on the same coast as me.

As to your Pali diatribe....gee, has 1947 been moved up as Year 1 for you?

Also, I know that much land was SOLD to nascent Israelis by Arab sheiks (remember, no such thing as individual action in that scheme of things). Offhand, I don't know the percentage - anyone know how to find the stats?

It's because the media types are anti-war and also because they can get first class accomodations in Israel, hot food ( won't say it's good though ) modern communications, relative physical safety and security escorts in that nation.

If the media types went to Lebanon and inspected rouge military bases and the odd home with missile launchers they get shot in the head.

So they report on what they can see from a safe place and they naturally don't like the war activities.

They don't want to see things from the other side since that would mean the end of all the good things and positive attention, not to mention their existence.

It's simple enough to see why the behave as they do.

Injustice is defined as:

"That a person takes what does not belong to him."

That is exactly what the Zionists are doing in regard to the Palestine. They claim that Palestine is their land and that Jerusalem has been their capital for the last 3000 years.

Where were they during the last 2000 years? Since the Romans destroyed their temple and they were dispersed all over the world? Was there any thing called Israel in Palestine or any where else in the world? The answer is known.

Shy Guy,

I read your post right after I uploaded my comments. I'll check out the book you cited; thanks.

Ramon asked the question:

What may one call a state created from colonized land, stolen from its native inhabitants and turned over to European invaders through a process of militarily-enforced ethnic cleansing and occupation?

To which one could also ask:

"What may one call a region created from colonized land, stolen from its native inhabitants and turned over to arab imperialist invaders under the guise of a relgiously sanctioned edict through a process of militarily-enforced ethnic cleansing and occupation called jihad?"

Caliphate anyone? Now there's the pot calling the kettle black.

Hey, Ramon, why don't you tell us from where the name "Palestine" originated. Heh. Heh.

Palestine population exchanges and formation of Israel
History in a Nutshell

(flash presentation)

The MSM long since lost most of it's credibility with me, so I'm not surprised by their latest. They have been willing dupes of the Palestinian scam. Anything that would raise awareness of the barbarity of the Islamic Palestinian regime and how it's responsible for the situation they find themselves in is to be supressed.

Ramon, spare us your silly Commie ISM propaganda. There are plenty of stupid leftwing websites that will eat up your excrement.

Anybody noticed that Al-Jazeera is starting up an
English channel? Probably not, since it'll just be another pro-jihad channel in a sea full of them.

Glenn Beck will have a special tonight on "The Extremist Agenda Exposed," and from the looks of it, he is going to keep it real. Hopefully he talks about the media's reluctance to report on the extremist content that is mainstream in Arab media.

http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/beck.extremistagenda/

I personally think that an O'Reilly-style cable news show dedicated to examining unedited extremist rhetoric from Arab countries would be a sensational enough to attract viewers. It would be at least as much of a money-maker as the endless Dateline reports on internet child predators.

Sort of OT, yet anyone read this yet? 'Tis why we call it the GLOBAL Jihad, no?:

Which is exactly what Muslims are doing throughout Europe, no? And in Somalia...and in the Sudan...and in Australia...and...?

To quote justamomof4: "militarily-enforced ethnic cleansing and occupation called jihad"

Get it, Ramon...or Chomsky...or Finklestein...or Atzmon...or whichever radical lefty you are trying to emulate. Please go back to your Graduate Seminar and stop wasting our time.

"What may one call a region created from colonized land, stolen from its native inhabitants and turned over to arab imperialist invaders under the guise of a relgiously sanctioned edict through a process of militarily-enforced ethnic cleansing and occupation called jihad?"

From above

You talking about pakistan and bangladesh ? Or turkey ? iran also qualifies. It was Persia before it went islamic.

For you ramon,
You are apologizing for islam and muslims, and you claim that they are the victims. Just for starters, I am asking you if you have heard about the genocide of Hindus in West Punjab (now called as pakistan) and East Bengal (now bangladesh) in the year of 1947.

Am too tired to make a long post, and long a post has to be, for jihad against infidels is on for nearly 1400 years. That is a lot of history, and that is a lot of links, online ; a lot of books offline.

But plenty of people here to carry the torch.

"And even more damning is the photo they chose not to publish, showing a medium range ground-to-ground missile launcher hidden in a civilian truck—on a Lebanese Army base."

This is the most disturbing aspect to me. Photographic evidence was available and was ignored and not reported. Deliberate choices were made -- by a media that is supposed to represent the search for truth -- to hide the truth from the public.

From today's New Duranty Times. Offers more detail than the jpost.com article I linked, above:

U.N. Says Somalis Helped Hezbollah Fighters
By ROBERT F. WORTH
UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 14 — More than 700 Islamic militants from Somalia traveled to Lebanon in July to fight alongside Hezbollah in its war against Israel, a United Nations report says. The militia in Lebanon returned the favor by providing training and — through its patrons Iran and Syria — weapons to the Islamic alliance struggling for control of Somalia, it adds.
The report, which was disclosed by Reuters on Monday, appears to be the first indication that foreign fighters assisted Hezbollah during the 34-day conflict, when Israel maintained a tight blockade on Lebanon.
The report also says Iran sought to trade arms for uranium from Somalia to further its nuclear ambitions, though it does not say whether Iran succeeded.
The 86-page report was issued by four experts monitoring violations of a 1992 United Nations arms embargo on Somalia, which was put in place after the country lapsed into civil war and remains in effect. The report is to be discussed Friday at the Security Council.
The panel does not say how the information was obtained. But the members had access to information from the intelligence agencies of the Security Council’s 15 current members, including Britain, France, China, Russia and the United States, a United Nations official said.
Any involvement by Somalis would be surprising because Hezbollah’s effectiveness is widely attributed to its deep familiarity with the region.
Hezbollah officials could not be reached Tuesday night for comment.
An official at the Israeli mission to the United Nations said he had not seen the report, and was not aware of any Somali fighters having taken part in the conflict with Hezbollah. The official asked not to be identified, citing diplomatic protocol.
While the sources of the information remain unclear, the report is dense with details about arms shipments to the groups vying for power in Somalia.
It states that in mid-July, Aden Hashi Farah, a leader of the Somali Islamist alliance, personally selected about 720 combat-hardened fighters to travel to Lebanon and fight alongside Hezbollah.
At least 100 Somalis had returned by early September — with five Hezbollah members — while others stayed on in Lebanon for advanced military training, the report says. It is not clear how many may have been killed, though the report says some were wounded and later treated after their return to Somalia.
The fighters were paid a minimum of $2,000 for their service, the report says, and as much as $30,000 was to be given to the families of those killed, with money donated by “a number of supporting countries.”
In addition to training some Somali militants, Hezbollah “arranged for additional support to be given” by Iran and Syria, including weapons, the report found. On July 27, 200 Somali fighters also traveled to Syria to be trained in guerrilla warfare, the report says.
It also indicates that Iran appears to have sought help in its quest for uranium in Dusa Mareb, the hometown of Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, the leader of the Islamist alliance in Somalia, which is known as the Council of Islamic Courts.
“At the time of the writing of this report, there were two Iranians in Dusa Mareb engaged on matters linked to the exploration of uranium in exchange for arms” for the Council of Islamic Courts, says the report, which is dated Oct. 16.
Those claims, if proved, could worsen global tensions over Iran’s nuclear program. Iran ignored an Aug. 31 deadline to suspend its uranium enrichment, and the United States has been leading a United Nations effort to impose sanctions.
The United Nations report is focused mostly on the increasingly volatile situation in Somalia, where Islamists took control of the capital, Mogadishu, in June from warlords backed by the United States.
Not only has the volume of arms flowing into Somalia grown, according to the authors, but more sophisticated weapons like surface-to-air missiles are being brought in. The conflict could grow into a regional war, with Somalia’s neighbors, Ethiopia and Eritrea, backing opposing sides.
The report also accuses Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Syria of supplying the Somali Islamists with arms, advisers and fighters. It says three nations — Ethiopia, Uganda and Yemen — are aligned with the so-called transitional government based in Baidoa, an inland city.
Asked about violations of the arms embargo, the report states, officials in those countries either denied any involvement or failed to answer.
The report recommends that the Security Council blockade Somalia. It also warns urgently against sending any peacekeepers to the country, saying such a force could become “the catalyst that sparks a serious military confrontation between the opposing sides.”

Hey Ramon,

I came across your most interesting articles and find myself in agreement with what you say.

I think the views expressed and articles written
are incisive and to the point in that respect.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Infidel hurricane names, to be precise. ;)

For long, Zionism was equated with racism, as it is a doctrine based on the concept of "the chosen people" and the Promised Land. Only recently, due to pressures, which Zionists have exercised over people and governments, along with their basic abuse of the suffering of the Jews, during the Nazi era - that Zionism ceased to be equated with racism, in the decrees of the UN. This is despite the fact that it is still equated with racism, within the global civil society.

Please see, for example, Norman Finkelstein’s excellent book:

The Holocaust Industry

Also, worth mentioning here, is the Durban Conference , which was but an example.

I would also be very cautious about the idea of the ancestry, as it was not that sort of the "romantic right" the Zionists claimed, and hence, returned peacefully to settle down and live in peace! Since the beginning of the century, Zionist armed gangs, which were basically formed from Eastern European Jews, killed, massacred, intimidated the Palestinians and took away their land and threw people out!

This happened REPEATEDLY, and with full European and American support. It happened a decade after decade… and Jenin was one of the last episodes of that drama. Kindly visit the following links:

Can the West Ignore the Cry of Jenin?

There must be a name to the disease Ramon suffers from, where one goes out of the way to proclaim blatant lies as the truth, no matter how ridiculous they may be.

Or is that simply known as Bolshevism?

ramon admits that the Land of Israel was Jewish up to 2000 years ago. Where does that leave the claim by the PLO that the Arabs were always there, that the Canaanites were Arabs [false], etc?? Of course, ramon's whole notion of history is false and ignorant. He should read authoritative accounts of the history of the Land of Israel and the Jews there. I suggest Michael Avi-Yonah, Felix-Marie Abel [of the French Catholic Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem], Moshe Gil, Yehoshua [Joshua] Schwartz, the ancient Church Fathers Eusebius & Jerome [major sources for modern historians], etc. The Romans only excluded Jews from the Jerusalem area, called Colonia [& Polis] Aelia Capitolina, not from the whole country. Jews were driven out of the Jerusalem area only after Roman suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt in 135 CE, less than 2000 years ago [between 135 and 1897 when the Zionist Org. was founded is a period of 1762 years]. Jews have been a majority in Jerusalem since 1853, as attested by the French historian & diplomat Cesar Famin in that year. Famin's figures were accepted by none other than Karl Marx. See: http://ziontruth.blogspot.com/2006/03/jewish-majority-in-jerusalem-in-1853.html
After the Arab conquest, Arab-Muslim oppression, exploitation, and humiliation pushed many Jews to leave the Land of Israel which was under Arab rule, although there was a substantial Jewish population in the Land until the Crusader massacres.
Now, after reading the relevant posts on my blog, you can ask me questions on the "Comments." Until then, don't believe either the Arabs or the so-called Left which is in solidarity with the Arab oil kings, exploiters of foreign workers [in Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf states], and with terrorist Arab mass murderers.
