Just ask Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, editor of Blitz, the largest tabloid English-language weekly in Bangladesh. He is currently facing a sedition trial for speaking out about the threats radical Islam poses in Bangladesh. He has been imprisoned, harassed, beaten, and condemned. In court last week, his persecutors read these charges against him: "By praising the Jews and Christians, by attempting to travel to Israel and by predicting the so-called rise of Islamist millitancy in the country and expressing such through writings inside the country and abroad, you have tried to damage the image and relations of Bangladesh with the outside world." For expressing these dissident opinions, he faces the possibility of execution.Give thanks we don't live in Egypt, where bloggers have been detained by the government for criticizing Islam and exposing the apathy of Cairo police to sexual harassment of women. Just ask Abdel Karim Suliman Amer, 22, who was arrested earlier this month for "spreading information disruptive of public order", "incitement to hate Muslims" and "defaming the President of the Republic." Ask Rami Siyam, who blogs under the name of Ayyoub, and has been outspoken in his criticism of Egyptian brutality. He was detained this week along with three friends after leaving the house of a fellow blogger. His host, 24-year-old reformist Muslim Muhammad al-Sharqawi, had been detained by the Egyptian government this spring as he left a peaceful demonstration in Cairo where he had displayed a sign reading, "I want my rights." Sharqawi was beaten in prison over several weeks.

Ask the family of Mohammed Taha, editor-in-chief of the Sudanese private daily Al-Wifaq, who was found decapitated on a Khartoum street in September. He had been kidnapped by masked jihadi gunmen. What did Taha do that cost him his life? He insulted Islam, and dared to question Muslim history, the roots of Mohammed, and other Muslims. Before his murder, his paper was shuttered for three months and he was hauled into court for "blasphemy."

Journalist and Christian Orthodox activist Samir Kassir, who was critical of Syrian involvement in Lebanon, was assassinated in a Beirut car bombing in 2005. His colleague, An-Nahar newspaper manager Gibran Tueni was killed in a car bombing last December. Lebanese TV anchorwoman and Christian journalist May Chidiak survived a separate car bombing last fall, but lost an arm, leg, and use of one eye.

As to this article: Every time I attempt to bring such things to the attention of people at the forum I post to, I get the same response: Muslim: 'This is not how I was raised, let them speak for themselves.' or I am attempting to blame all muslims, or other such stupidity.
'Let them speak for themselves.' Great way to avoid doing anything about the problem. When the shiite finally hits the fan and it all falls back in their laps, it will be far too late.
Also let us be thankful for the internet and this wonderful tool in this fight against jihad. JW/DW and the other anti-jihad blogs and websites is proof that folks in the west can stand up against this threat.

I too want to wish the Amerike "happy thanksgiving". Obviously at great expense you will have travelled long distances to be with your families, in many cases like an annual migration visting mothers and fathers in their old folks homes by the cold wind sea ready to devour turkey, roast potato and stuffing I believe. What is your favourite vegetable at thanksgiving?
I am surprised that thanksgiving is so close to Christ-mass...is it possible to buy halal turkey in the Amerike.

Hi and Happy Thanksgiving Day to you!
Early I just helped my mother put into the open up to 20 pounds turkey bird into the oven this morning for the 4-5 hours cooking ritual. Will have my SO, ( boyfriend ) over today. Plus will have one piece of pumpkin and also sweet potato pie. Will be watching both Macy's Parade and listen to the radio a famous T-Day tradition, the famous Manchester Road Race in Manchester, CT. This special day shows the force not only of the greatness of America, but of the power of freedom.
North Americans do have much to be thankful for, and our journalists should keep this in mind when reporting on the latest muslim outrage.
I wish all our American neighbours and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving Day, and to the brave servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, God bless and may you come home safely.

He said, "Why didn't you marry a young girl so that you may play with her and she with you?" When we were about to enter (Medina), the Prophet said, "Wait so that you may enter (Medina) at night so that the lady of unkempt hair may comb her hair and the one whose husband has been absent may shave her pubic region.

I have iterated my views many times on this before....the founder of Ahmadiyya has said that there are no Koranic abrogated verses...and he specifically means the earlier peaceful suras.
I myself read those ..and I skip the violent ones...I believe that a handful of suras should not be there.

Unfortunately Naseem most muslims are not ahymadi they do not skip the multitude of violent verses. This is one of the reasons that Ahymadi are considered infidels and are not allowed into mecca by the sunnis. Also pedophillia might have been acceptable back then but since Muhammed is considered by the vast majority of muslims (shiia and sunni) that sort of pedophillia is still practiced in many muslim lands as Robert Spencer has said in his recent Heritage Foundation speech regarding American soldiers finding, for example, that a good 50% of the grade 2 girls were married and married to 45 to 50 year old men.

is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.”

Cause with full force of numbers and weaponry. It is given the
utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars. By Jihad
Islam is established, Allah’s Word is made superior (which means

propagated. By abandoning Jihad Islam is destroyed and Muslims
fall into an inferior position; their honor is lost, their lands
are stolen, their rule and authority vanish. Jihad is an
obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape
from this duty, or does not fulfill this duty, dies as a
hypocrite.”
