The Vatican website came under attack today in an effort organized by the leadership of 'electronic jihad' to down the site.The online Islamist terrorists, or e-jihadists, distributed programs to dozens of hackers around the world in order to stage a multi-pronged attack on the site as Pope Benedict XVI visited the Islamic nation of Turkey....
Today's attack on the website of the Holy See was cited in part as a response to the Pope's comments and anger related to his conciliatory visit to Turkey. In a speech during the visit the Pontiff declared that religious leaders must 'utterly refuse to sanction recourse to violence as a legitimate expression of religion', and referred to the situation in the Middle East as 'disturbing'.
The cyberattack that came in the wake of the Pope's visit was successfully thwarted by Vatican authorities.
One blogger, noting that the website withstood the attack, remarked, "Kudos to the Swiss Guards of the cybersphere for doing an excellent job."
So typical. The Pope calls for dialogue and understanding, the Islamists respond with their usual garbage. Then again, we already know Islam views a desire for dialogue as a weakness, so it's just Muslims being Muslims.
There's Islamic dialogue for you. Why even bother anymore? It takes two to have one and obviously the peaceful ones are not interested. The only interaction they are interested in comes in the form of violence.

Vandalism has been a central activity in the holy practice of Islam, one of the world's great religions.
At first, in the days of Mohammed and Abu Bakr, the Moslems would just kill and steal, not destroy. Sure, there were a couple of exceptions, like when Mo ordered a date grove burned. But that was in order to induce terror into the hearts of the Jews working the grove and, therefore, was not vandalism strictly speaking.
But, as the great religion developed, it took to destruction of valuables as part of the then blossoming art of Dawa. Temples in India, Churches in Spain, art in Byzantine, libraries in Egypt, Buddhist statues in Afghan, you name it, these Moslems can ruin it.
The Vatican should have its site running on BSD servers with the latest version of Apache. But Apache/2.0.58 (Unix) works fine enough for now.

Carolyn2, you're right about the locusts term. Although, I've almost completely stopped using the term people for muslims. I prefer to use bi-peds. They do walk upright on two legs. I hate to lump them with the rest of the world by calling them people. They run mindlessly amuk and with the most savage intentions and deeds.

Hold on, you (and anyone else who uses the term Vandalism) is giving these people a bad name and perpetuating thousands of years old propaganda.
The word Vandal means Wanderer, and was applied to CHRISTIANIZED Germans, driven out of northern Europe they migrated to Spain, driven out of Spain by Rome they landed in North Africa, from there they established a cultured and Christian society of interlinked city states..they eventually had to confront Rome, but they did it without raiding and slaughtering and raping the people, they came, took booty and left sans the slaughter, unlike the Romans who (even after Christianized) retained their brutal habits and ways.
The muslims were familiar with the Germanic Vandals, and applied the name (quite correctly) to the Germanic Goths of Spain called the region al Andalusa.. the land of the wanderers.
If you wish to speak of despoilers, murderers and rapists then speak of the Romans, Vikings and the Muslims.
