Hollywood golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have stepped up security after becoming potential terrorist targets.The movie stars - who are currently in India - have been receiving death threats from terror group al-Qaeda.
Pitt, 42, and Jolie, 31, are thought to have been targeted because of the political nature of Jolie's new movie A Mighty Heart.
The film is based on the life of Daniel Pearl - a Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed at the hands of al-Qaeda militants in Pakistan According to reports, British security experts flew to Pune, India earlier this week to protect the couple.
The fear of terror threats is also thought to be the reason behind the decision to shoot the movie in India, not in Pakistan where the events took place.
In A Mighty Heart - based on the book of the same name, Jolie plays Pearl's widow Marianne, who was pregnant when her husband was kidnapped.
How ironic, considering how Hollywood usually treats the peaceful ones.

Funny thing, is, and my mind operating at overload leve these days, is that I understand that Pitt has a newly released movie, "Babel" and understand that the story here is that Pitt is on vacation in Morocco with his wife (can't remember who is playing her) and the wife being the unintended victim of two teenaged Moroccan goatherders playing with rifles and the incident being wrongly branded an act of terror by the US.
To whom does the mighty heart belong here? The late Danny Pearl's, his Bhuddist wife's, or Pearl's parents? If it's Marianna Pearl, that explains why Jolie would accept the role, as I don't think it would "compromise" Jolie's politics, which are Palestinian-sympathetic.

Protester 'called for beheadings'
A protester called for the beheadings of enemies of Islam and the death of British soldiers, a court has heard.
Mizanur Rahman, 23, a web designer of Palmers Green, north London, denies inciting murder and using words or behaviour to stir up race hate.
Mr Rahman attended a demonstration against the Danish cartoons portraying Muhammad in London on 3 February.
Prosecutors said Mr Rahman had told a crowd: "We want to see their blood running in the streets of Baghdad."
David Perry QC said Mr Rahman had carried placards saying "behead those who insult Islam" and "annihilate those who insult Islam".
He said: "Annihilate and behead are ordinary English words with the ordinary English meaning of kill."
Mr Rahman also called for a wave of attacks across Europe in the manner of 11 September, Mr Perry said. A video of his megaphone-amplified speech would be played to the Old Bailey jury.
'Not about Allah'
He allegedly told fellow demonstrators: "Oh Allah, we want to see another 9/11 in Iraq... in Denmark... in Spain... in France... all over Europe. Oh Allah, destroy all of them."
And Mr Perry said Mr Rahman had also spoken of the British and American forces in Iraq, saying: "The Mujahideen will destroy them and their freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan, in Falluja and in Baghdad.
"We don't want to see them in Baghdad, in Iraq any more. We want to see them coming home in body bags, we want to see their blood running in the streets of Baghdad, we want to see their blood running in Fallujah.
"We want to see the Mujahideen shoot down their planes the way we shoot down birds, we want to see their tanks burn in the way we burn their flags."
The prosecution emphasised that freedom of speech did not stretch to inciting the murder of religious opponents.

One can only hope that Angelina and Brad learn one lesson from this dreadful experience: that the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the now-leftist (and typically anti-American) Hollywood motion picture-making establishment has become a terrorism enabling force. I am not clear on what happened other than he was killed--as I was totally unaware of jihad and this islamic assault on the west as a global thing back then when I thought 911 was some kind of isolated thing--never having heard of how islamic fundamentalism was at the root of it all.
To think that the likes of Pitt and Jolie would wake up to the problem of Islam just because of death threats from some terror group that is, in the PC minds of same, easily detachable from Islam is to indulge in a naiveté almost as bad as theirs.

This even though Pitt's latest film, "Babel", is in part an apologia to the idea that Islamic extremism is an exagerated threat. In the film, Pitt's character's wife, played by Cate Blanchette, is shot while the couple are on vacation in Morocco.
Everyone immediately jumps to the conclusion that this Western blonde's shooting was an act of terrorism, because, well, we're paranoid and mean. In reality, she was shot (spoiler alert) by an excitable but innocent teenage goatherd, who was just, you know, fooling around. Can't make this stuff up.
Even the Daniel.Pearl movie is supposed to play down the aspect of Islamic terrorism, according to his widow Marianne. I'm not sure how this is desirable, or even possible, but there you go. I guess the fact that Jolie is making a movie where Daniel Pearl is presented as anything other than a "Jewish pig" is crime enough.
I'll be honest--Pitt and Jolie are not my favorite people. But I truly hope they are safe--this threat to their lives is nothing short of evil. This seems to be part of a growing trend of targeting *any* artist who offends the tender sensibilities of the "Religion of Peace".

Data have to be interpreted. Data by themselves do not deliver an interpretation. Any given bad action by Muslims (including those that are personally directed at the one thinking about the problem) is a datum that could mean different things, usually one of two things:
1) Islam itself is nourishing and guiding this bad action;
2) Islam itself is largely unrelated (except in some vaguely peripheral way) to the bad action.
Now, where the PC pathology kicks in is when not merely one datum, of one bad action by a Muslim, is on the table, but rather thousands of data, spread out geographically across the globe, evidently increasing in number, going back historically for centuries to the founding of Islam, and showing clear signs of being ideologically connected to Islam itself. The PC mindset obstinantly persists in fitting all this data into slot #2 -- which still has the semblance of a rational thought process; in fact, it becomes an automated thought process that has to chug along at an increasingly fast pace that, to us who get it, looks increasingly ridiculous, like Lucy working at the candy factory conveyor belt. But, nevertheless, they keep thinking this way.

BB, Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter, was kidnapped, tortured and beheaded by the architect of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, while he was in Pakistan investigating the money trail of Al Qaeda in 2002 I believe. His wife, who is French/Cuban/Dutch, has since tried to profit from his death. Daniel Pearl was a wonderful man and his death was very tragic. HBO just aired a documentary on him.

You may or may not have seen me harp countless times on a point that is in disagreement, in one important respect at least, with how you worded the above: you are neglecting to mention a fourth enclave: millions of ordinary people who also buy into that thinking process by which to detach all bad actions by Muslims from Islam itself.

Aside from the dozens of crime drama shows I have seen post-911 that have depicted misunderstood and falsely accused Muslims (often not even identified as such, only as "Middle Eastern"), there is also the other tack they take: they concoct some terrorist threat for their plots -- but they reach very far afield to find new terrorists other than Muslims (Post-Cold War Russian terrorists, Red Chinese terrorists, vaguely Slavic terrorists, and, in the famous case of the show 24, all of the aforementioned climaxed by silver-haired Anglo-Saxon CEOs and members of the US Government -- including the President himself!).

Those of us in the UK and Australia sometimes have trouble buying these dvd's because of the different regions.
HOWEVER for those downunder and possibly Europe, the cheaper the dvd player you can buy, the more likely it will play multi-region, and multi format (dvd+r, dvd-r etc etc). Learned all this the hard way. But I am able to get anything from Amazon and it will work.

Are you joking??? First of all, I don't think many of the elite Hollyweirdists READ. Many of them are college and high school dropouts.

1. We don’t know if the threats are real or a propaganda spin to push the movie. Their last films didn’t do as well as expected and a film about Daniel Peril’s life is not exactly an action thriller.
2. They hired “British security experts” that in it self is worrisome. From recent headlines, I would doubt they know anything about islam and even less about al qaeda. I’m sure they are strapping lads who will photograph well.
If the MSM picks this up and pushes it hard that will be an indicator this is a big publicity stunt. If they ignore it, I would steer clear of both of them. Google has recently bought youtube.May explain a few things??
My advice to anyone who is planning to buy a dvd player is this:
Take in a multi-region disc
Take in a local region disc
Take in a home made dvd+r and a dvd-r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw and get the sales person to play each one for you.
(I have put a lot of MP3 music files on dvd: holds about 1000 songs and it is great to be able to play them so I took in one of these also.No more getting up to change the cd's every 40 minutes.)
This info is particularly useful if you have a dvd recorder, or a hard-drive recorder that you can burn movies from.
I would like to add that I do not do anything illegal. I will not and cannot copy bought dvd's - I just record stuff from the tv or my own cd collection.
So far I have found LG are usually multi-region, as well as the really cheap ones that sell for about $AU50.

dms - did you go up to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, and then see what is checked on java or multimedia? There is a Restore Default that you could try.
Thereis another place that controls java also but I can't remember where it is right now. Also did your ISP change recently? Maybe they are blocking it.
I can see Youtube but cannot see Fox or CNN or Hotair. I don't know why. Any suggestions would help.
Been reading daily, just not posting untill now, lately. This is really quite interesting on multiple fronts. No need to denounce a mythical place called "Hollywood." Some understand, some do not understand, some can have understanding thrust upon them. Some dislike Bush, but are so intent on American troops getting out of Iraq that they may see the wisdom of "allowing the Iraqis" to make their own bed, and lie in it even if, as I suggest, this will inevitably lead to permanent Sunni-Shi'a conflict not only within Iraq, but also outside Iraq, having consequences in Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Yemen. A few names come to mind of those who need no tutoring in anything -- John Malkovich, Ben Stein, James Woods (a strange mix, I know)-- and there are many others, slowly coming along.

In response to this threat, Brangelina's movie will probably become even more PC than the script no doubt already called for. After all, these people have "everything." Fabulous wealth, beauty, fame, and incredibly fun jobs. That incredible "good fortune" makes it all the less likely one can expect any risks from these folks -- beyond the pseudo-risk of being pseudo-non-conformists who might ridicule conservative politics or religious Christians. On the other hand, if they want to make a movie out of Ayn Rand's Fountainhead, that suggests they are libertarians, not lefties. Careful about categorizing them.

This is reminiscent of an Al Qaeda plot back in 2000 to kidnap and kill actor Russell Crowe.This was back when Crowe was the star of Gladitor. At the time Crowe was contacted by the FBI who discovered the plot. Crowe had to have increased security at the Golden Globes and other events in early 2000.I believe he still must have increased security for he and his family.Crowe mentioned this plot in interviews two years ago he said at the time he had never even heard of Al Qaeda. The "rationale" for kidnapping and killing of Russell Crowe was that he was an icon and movie star and that his kidnapping and killing would cause turmoil in American society.As we learn more and more about Islam is there any doubt that Islam is evil and from Hell?
One more thing I dislike the politics of Pitt and Jolie but I do hope they remain safe. I also admire them for standing up to Muslim threats.

That's correct. Anything that makes sense makes sense on the level of interpretation, not data. Data sans interpretations don't make sense; they are part of the "buzzing and blooming confusion" of reality in the raw: the chaos of Creation is all around us.
Thus data, strictly speaking, seem in some sense to include everything and exclude nothing, not even "non-data."
Some data are "pre-packaged" interpretations, so to speak. And any and all interpretations can become data; in fact, perhaps most of the time, people process interpretations as though they were data, while simultaneously laboring under the fallacy that data by themselves deliver truth. This isn't necessarily a bad habit of thought, insofar as it would be immensely tedious and often counter-productive to pick apart and analyze every "packaged" interpretation out there then reconstitute it through a careful process of renewed investigation and coming up with a new interpretation that may or may not match the packaged one. Of course, for important matters, we should be engaging in some degree of labor and not simply swallow any packaged interpretation that comes our way; but all our time would be consumed were we to treat everything we encounter in reality this way, and a fully assiduous approach could bewilder us or even madden us.

I think this duality is not so strange as it sounds if you simply factor in that data are the chaotic raw material of reality, while interpretations are our organizing principles for both finding patterns of sense in them as well as imposing sense on them. Then, of course, all the interpretations we generate can become data themselves. But interpretations in their core reality are not data, insofar as they are the living thinking of the subject as the subject is making sense out of reality in which he swims. The only real paradox in this process is the simultaneously objective nature of the thinking subject.
In reversed Platonism, thoughts, or Ideas, are a higher reality that is not static as they were in Plato, but metamorphic, dynamic.
Perhaps Plato's Ideas were static from the standpoint of objective reality, but dynamic from the standpoint of subjective existence.
