A demand for a new annihilation cannot be a basis for negotiations. Common sense from Vuk Draskovic. By Hilary Leila Krieger and Tovah Lazaroff in the Jerusalem Post (thanks to Andrew Bostom):
The main obstacle to peace in the Middle East is the "stubborn refusal" of certain Arab countries and organizations to recognize Israel's right to exist, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic declared Sunday while on a visit to Jerusalem, which he called the capital of Israel."I fully understand the fear of the Jewish people, because refusal to recognize the existence of Israel must remind Jews of the Holocaust and seem a demand for a new annihilation, and this couldn't be a basis for negotiations," Draskovic told The Jerusalem Post.
Draskovic said he could well understand the importance of recognition for Israel since the lack of recognition of Serbia's territorial claims to Kosovo form the central cause of the conflict there between the province's Albanian Muslim majority and its tiny Serbian minority....
"Many newspapers are writing that Israel is terrorist No. 1 in the Middle East [and] that Serbia is terrorist No. 1 in the Balkans. We're not. This is the wrong perception of us - both of us," he said. "We have to support each other."...
If there is any question about Israel's right to exist, the Serbian foreign minister said, then the quartet states "also have no right to exist, because the historical roots of all of them are here."
Draskovic, a devout Christian, will be visiting Jerusalem's Old City, Nazareth and Galilee during his three-day stay. He will meet with representatives of the Orthodox Church but not Palestinian officials.
Finally someone with the guts to speak the obvious but the politically incorrect.
Bush and Condi take note, and less of the 'religion of peace' bullshit.
We bombed the wrong side in 1999. Sorry Serbia-you guys were right all along. Keep sticking it to the Islamniacs.
What Vuk Draskovic might have added is this:
"Both my country and yours suffer from the irredentist impulse that has no end because it is based clearly on the tenets, attitudes, and atmospherics of Islam. The destruction of ancient Serbian churches, the stated attempt by followers of Izetbegovic, now aided by fellow Muslims from outside, to reinstate the shari'a in the Balkans, is prompted by the same impulses -- to first take back for Dar al-Islam all of those places that were once under Muslim dominatation -- is the same goal as that pursued in the Lesser Jihad against Israel. That Lesser Jihad has no end; it can be held off, and the Camp of Islam weakened, but the only real difference between the Hamas supporters, the proponents of Fast Jihad, and the Fatah supporters, the more corrupt and hence more-willing-to-temporarily-please-in-order-to-get-the-Jizyah-flowing faction, are both for Jihad. It is merely a difference in timing and tactics that divide them --not the ultimate goal.
We are both, in the end, menaced by Islam as all the rest of the western world, not yet comprehending, will be, and both of our countries have been, at key moments in recent years, been misunderstood, and vilified, and abandoned, and even betrayed, by a Western world hell-bent on not seeing what is staring it in the face."
I hope Vuk Draskovic won't be offended by a little addition to his forthright and excellent text. I hope he gets to read it. I'm on his side.
Back in the late '90s, when Serbia was fighting the Kosovars and the Bosnian Muslims, whenever the topic came up in conversation I always said that it was a huge mistake - a sin! - for NATO and the West to side with Muslims against peoples like the Croats and the Serbs, and of course, no one listened. (NATO leaders, had they had any forward thinking, could have contemplated a policy of telling Turkey it was free to withdraw from the alliance if it didn't like a pro-Christian policy toward the Balkans). I wonder if any of those I pleaded with about this have had any second thoughts about it in the years since.
Anyway, all I can say is good for Vuk Draskovitch for telling it like it is. The only downside I can see to his stance is that he probably shoud meet with the Palestinians just to blast them and tell them to start behaving themselves.
I hope the Serbs know there are a lot of Americans who backed them. That is hollow, I know because our leaders were bombing their people and on the side of evil.
It was wrong to bomb Serbia. At least hindsight is 20-20. NATO and UN have been exposed as the leftist tools that they are. We need to take a lesson on this and act appropriately.
The only downside I can see to his stance is that he probably shoud meet with the Palestinians just to blast them and tell them to start behaving themselves.

They are behaving exactly as the koran tells them to behave.
Speaking of the Balkans, has anyone seen the latest political ad on TV starring General Wesley Clark. The main point of it is that if not for Iraq there would be no terrorists.

And yet we always hear from Islam that if there was no Israel there would be no terrorists. I am SO confused!
"Speaking of the Balkans, has anyone seen the latest political ad on TV starring General Wesley Clark. The main point of it is that if not for Iraq there would be no terrorists."
So I wonder who he thinks carried out 911 (two years before Iraq)? The janitor, in hoc with the milkman?
The tragic bombing of the Serbian people by the foolish Clinton Administration was the only U.S. military action I never supported. Serbia never attacked us, never wished war with us, and did not threaten us. The whole sham was conducted solely to deflect attention from Clinton's tawdry White House sex scandals. All we succeeded in doing was to help the cause of the Islamic psychotics in Europe. I hope the Serbian people do not hold it against us. This is all the fault of Bill Clinton alone.
It is a welcome change indeed to see a European leader taking the side of the Jews who really deserve our sympathy and support in this situation of global jihad. It is a shame speeches such as this have not been coming from any of America's so-called "allies" in Europe (especially western or "old' Europe).
ps- personally I don't think NATO knowingly took the side of leftists or evil in the 1990s Balkans conflict, I think it misunderstood the conflict, which, for better or worse was at least contained for the time being.
I know a few people from the former Yugoslav state and they don't seem to begrudge us for it (I know some probably will, and at this point there's not much to be done about that).
I am a proud supporter of the Serbs since 1999 when I figured out what the situation was. It was Jihad. Prior to that I was lazy and couldn't tell the players apart.
I will never support the Muslim side in a war. NEVER NEVER NEVER!! Evil Bill Clinton bombed the Serbs into submission to curry favor with the Arabs and Islam in general. Do you think the Ummah appreciates this? No bleeping way. They hate us just as much
"I don't think NATO knowingly took the side of leftists or evil in the 1990s Balkans conflict, I think it misunderstood the conflict, which, for better or worse was at least contained for the time being.
Pythagoras:
NATO bombed the Serbs. I don't know how much more of a taking sides against the Serbs there could have been. Bombing someone is, by definition, an act of war, isn't it? Of course, NATO THOUGHT they were doing the right thing. Everyone always does. Or nearly everyone. Perhaps even guys like Hitler rationalize their actions to convince themselves that their actions are justified. But this is no help whatever to the actual objective demands of justice. We should not easily let ourselves off the hook for this. The history of Europe and the Middle East is not some hidden, obscure, arcane knowledge inaccessible to us. Only a very minimal amount of homework - a mere check of a few historic facts - would have sufficed to alert the West's leadership to who the sides were and what the foundation of the conflict was.
NATO and the West have to swallow a very bitter pill for this, if they're to avoid making similar missteps in the future. Those who evade responsibility for their mistakes - or crimes - NEVER learn from them. I hate to speak in cliches, but this is a very good one: "Those who fail to learn from the past, are doomed to repeat it". The lessons of history are important indeed. Lets not ignore them.
As for the people you mention from the former Yugoslavia, this is very magnanimous of them. We should be thankful for this, and resolved not to squander this precious good will. We owe it to them to make ammends, and to be sure to get it right in the next round.
So, you are definitely right in suggesting that statement's like Draskovic' should be echoed by the West, and I would add not just by Western Europe, but the US, Canada, Britain, etc, etc. Hopefully, all of us in the West will soon come to see who our natural allies should be.
By the way, somewhat OT, but connected with my main point here: we should not abandon Russia to its present misguided alliance with Iran. This is analagous to its former alliance with Germany in the Nazi era. It works against their own security interests in the long run, and this will eventually catch up to them. Even China will eventually have problems with its Muslims once they're emboldened by the success of their brothers in other parts of Asia. India is another potential ally. Everyone needs to be gotten on board to stand up to the Islamic world.
At the same time Clinton had the USAF bombing the Serbs, wasn't he in the middle of the negotiations between the Israelis and the Arab squatters in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria? If so, it seems like he may've been trying to make a case to say that as an American president he wouldn't automatically take the side against mohammedans.
"See? In the former Yugoslavia, I'm bombing Christians on behalf of Muslims. I'm not biased against your side, nor will I be in favor of Israel in these talks. You can trust me."
If so, the Serbs were the highly unfortunate victims of the former POTUS's attempt to look "fair" to the paranoid, perpetual victims of Ishmael's line. Of course, the "palestinians" have been too many people's favorite victim group for far too long, especially for those people who cannot believe that anyone who is in a crappy situation could possibly be responsible for their own sorry state.
"Vuk Draskovic has more courage than the Pope. Maybe Mr. Draskovic should be the Pope..."
Maybe Patriarch.
in fact, NATO killed some Kossovo Albanians in that war. By mistake, naturally. When it was learned that NATO planes rather than Serbs had killed this group of Albanians, the NATO spokesman, a Scottish fellow named Jamey, said: "The poilet drupped the bombs in good fayeth." How come Israeli soldiers never get credited with "good fayeth"??
We bombed the wrong side in 1999. Sorry Serbia-you guys were right all along. Keep sticking it to the Islamniacs.

I've been saying this as well. The chorus is growing louder. Serbia needs to join the EU - if only to keep us out of further trouble.. keep our governments from doing foolish things AGAINST OUR OWN WILL!!!
Serbia and Israel BOTH must join the EU. Two cats in the house - goodbye islamic rat-mouse!
I support completely Serbia and I hope that never we bomb the christians and save muslims. I hope so.
It is true, as you are all saying, that we supported the wrong side in 1999 (actually I think we should have stayed out of it entirely, since the Serbs were already winning).
Remember, though, that the Serbs didn't exactly have a good P.R. machine going. They should have pointed out the former oppression of Serbs by Bosniacs under the Ottomans, and called attention to Izetbegovic's writings demanding a return to the same. Instead, they took the line that the Moslems "don't really exist," then started listing obscure battles from the middle ages supposedly establishing some historical Serbian right to the area. It just wasn't persuasive, when we in America could see on television that the Moslems, who obviously did exist, were being kept in concentration camps, shot and buried in mass graves, or herded onto buses and deported.
Back in 1999, hardly anybody in the U.S. would have known what sharia law was or understood the mortal threat that Moslems in power would represent to the non-Moslem population. We would never have believed that the actions of the Serbian paramilitaries were necessary. We might, however, have stayed out of the conflict if it had been explained that what Izetbegovic wanted was not freedom of religion in Bosnia but Moslem supremacy, as attested by his own writings, and if Moslem atrocities had been as well known as Serbian ones.
Pythagoras, the west and NATO led by Bill Clinton knew exactly what they were doing. They allowed Bill Clinton to force them into an illegal war. NATO was never attacked by the Serbs therefore the self defense alliance that is NATO was illegal. Furthermore Bill Clinton never had approval from his Congress to go to war making it an illegal war on two fronts.
Bill Clinton had and still has a pro Islamic mindset. He picked on the Serbs knowing as a Christian country no one would care, and with false allegations attacked them mercilessly.
This was all done to appease Muslims and show them that the US is a good ally. A friend of mine who was an observer there witnessed the daily, almost hourly shipments of arms sent to the UCK or as known here the KLA Kosovo Liberation Army an (Al Queda organization). These shipments of arms came from Tehran and Ankara, while at the same time were bombing and then ultimately disarming Serbs in the area.
The 100,000 mass graves Jamie Shea spoke about on news casts worldwide were proven to be completely false, yet no one in the west gives a shit. That's what you get for being Christian and standing up to Muslims these days. Also if you can remember bombing of Iraq was suspended during Ramadan, but the Serbs were pounded without a break during Christmas, these double standards are disgraceful.
I suggest a great book easy to read from Scott Taylor a Canadian journalist and ex-soldier, it's called an uncivil war. He was there and has first hand accounts of the atrocities against the Serbs and the deception that the world was put through.
Niv
tvdog, I'm curious what mass graves and concentration camps would you be referring to?
The only ones that existed were fictional, so it's difficult to gauge this quote.
Of the 100,000 mass graves reported, 6,000 were found and they were a mix of Albanian, Gypsy and Serb bodies. This is hardly evidence of any mass murder campaign.
We have been duped and even in light of these facts the Hague still holds Serb leaders for bullshit charges. This will continue only to mask the degree of NATO's atrocious behaviour in this campaign.
Eisenhund above has nailed it on the reasons that they bombed Yugoslavia. Please do me a favour and read the book I listed on the previous post, it's a good read.

Vuk Draskovic has more courage than the Pope. Maybe Mr. Draskovic should be the Pope...
Not sure why that comment was even nessecary....
Being Serbian he is probably an Orthodox Christian, so maybe next time you want to make an unrelated comment such as this, you can mention his courage in comparison to the Orthodox Patriarchs.
Now to think of it, he has more courage than any political leader in Europe, so maybe he sould be the head of every country in Europe. He has more courage than President Bush, so maybe he should be the President. On and on I can go, still not sure why you comment was relevant....
From Pythagoras
"ps- personally I don't think NATO knowingly took the side of leftists or evil in the 1990s Balkans conflict, I think it misunderstood the conflict, which, for better or worse was at least contained for the time being."
Oh, come on.
You really believe that?
Well , care to explain NATO's choice of bomb targeters?
Because they wouldn't risk their own oh-so-brave boys from getting killed in Serbia , NATO handed out cell phones to:
senior KLA leaders ( Thaqi, was diagnosed by his CIA handlers of being a murdering psychopath , Ramush Haradinaj aka "Smajl", was labelled a "murdering pshycho" by HIS British handlers ) were given this privilege to decide who should be slaughtered by NATO aircraft.
If that weren't bad enough, Nato delved back into the West's long time alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood and used Abu Hamza to recruit about 500 Mujahideen for NATO'S cause ( both Abu Hamza and the Pakistan President have confirmed this ) , the elite 100 were also given the licence to tell those brave NATO airmen who should die.
And you tell us NATO didn't commit evil?
So, you'd kill people simply because a couple of murdering psychos and a bunch of majahideen told you to , and then claim innocence?
Well said templar and US infidel.
"Many newspapers are writing that Israel is terrorist No. 1 in the Middle East [and] that Serbia is terrorist No. 1 in the Balkans. We're not. This is the wrong perception of us - both of us," he said. "We have to support each other."
BRILLIANT.
TVdog, the secular muslim, Abdic, fought for the Serbs around the Bihac enclave. The desertions from the muslim side to the Serb side there were so large, the Sarajevo Govt was forced to directly fly in mujahideen into Bihac to bolster muslim lines.
Guess how these mujahideen warriors got there?
With Iranian and U.S. help. U.S fighters would escort cargo planes full of arms into the area. Not only Bin Laden but also Atta took advantage of this U.S. assistance, both of whom won their spurs in Bosnia in the early 90s.
How does that make you feel, TVdog?
Come on now, that's hilarious.
Bodansky nailed the cock up.

It's a fiasco of such chronic ineptitude that even Captain Mainwaring would be ashamed.
from tvdog
"Moslems, who obviously did exist, were being kept in concentration camps"
CONCENTRATION camps? CONCENTRATION camps?
Oh , for fucks sake.
If anyone knows what is the problem with muslims, and how it feels bordering them than thats Serbia and Israel. At least they know it longer than the rest.Maybe this alliance should have come earlier, but it is never too late.
Friendship of these two nations lasts for very long time and I'm very happy that Serbia is so open in supporting Izrael.
About 1999...
Well, Serbia and America were very close allies for 150 years. They fought shoulder to shoulder in both WW's.If you check Serbs are one of top rewarded nationalities in history of US army. Unfortunately, someone allowed itself right go into war against Serbs and that was in crucial moment for their national issue. At the moment when they needed us most. For what? What did America gain in this?
No wonder America can count its allies today on fingers of one hand.
And still after everything that was messed up in Balkans there are still people in US administration that are fighting for rights of muslims in sacred Kosovo.Kosovo is not only Serbian, it is heritage of entire Christian world(you need to see to believe). At the moment there is 300 mosques built or being built on Kosovo with Saudi money next to ancient Serbian monasteries, in heart of Europe.
Oh God where are we going? Is this someone selling our future for day politics?
