I am attending the Restoration Weekend, where yesterday I spoke on a panel about the jihad in Europe along with Melanie Phillips, Douglas Murray, and Walid Phares. I am honored to be in such company.
Anyway, I'm trying to keep up with the news as best I can while I'm here, but I am a bit behind, and I suppose that by now the entire world has seen the video and heard the stories about Mostafa Tabatabainejad, the UCLA student who was tasered in the UCLA library after refusing to show ID to campus police, or to leave the premises. Michelle Malkin has useful background and commentary here.
The story is all over the TV news, CAIR is already on the case, evidently trying to spin the incident as an example of "Islamophobia." An investigation is certain to come, and almost certain to find the officers involved guilty of using excessive force.
Even if they did, however -- and I am not presenting that as conclusively established -- it is noteworthy that this story has received exponentially more attention in the media than this one. Nor has CAIR taken any trouble to say anything about it.
In one story, a Muslim in the U.S. is tasered in what may be a police brutality case. In another, a Muslim (probably) in the U.S. is arrested with information about nuclear materials and cyanide. Neither story may be representative of the status or disposition of the Muslim community in the U.S., but one gets a barrage of media attention and the other is ignored. The mainstream media, it seems, is engaged in storytelling and myth-making. They are constructing a picture of Muslims victimized in the U.S. by racism and bigotry. The Tabatabainejad story fits that agenda, or at least appears to. But the Dinssa news item may tell a different story: of Muslims plotting our destruction. That does not fit the prevailing mythos. So it goes relatively unreported.
If the Judeo-Christian West and the rest of the world threatened by the jihad today is to prevail, this media mythmaking must be exposed and challenged. It is happening today, what with the fauxtography revelations, the exposure of Dan Rather, and so on. But it must be understood that the immense coverage given to the Tabatabainejad incident, and the relative silence about the Dinssa arrest, is just as much part of the media dream factory as fauxtography. It is all part of an attempt to refashion the world after their own desires, burying reality in the process. And that, of course, will make it all the easier for reality to bite us.
It would be refreshing to see CAIR announce, if Dinssa is definitely a Muslim, that it is redoubling efforts to teach Muslims in America to reject the jihad ideology and live in peace with their non-Muslim neighbors. But they won't do that, not in this case or in any other case involving Islamic terrorism, because that is not the story they are trying to tell, or the myth they are trying to construct.
the Western media is made up of mostly ex 60's hippies from the love crowd. unfortunately we have to wait till they die off, and the younger more informed crowd takes over. l have more hope for those upcoming twenties and early thirties into the mainstream media. they have been exposed to more internet news, talk radio, ie,Drudge, Rush, Savage, etc. and do not this have loser mentality left over from the "Vietname era".
I think Mustafa was LOOKING for trouble and his 15 minutes of fame. All he had to do was show his I.D. card and none of this would have happened. There are rules that must be followed and if you're not willing to follow those rules, you forfeit your right to use certain facilities. AND, when the police tell you to do something as simple as to STAND ON YOUR FEET, you do it.
He should not only have been tazered, but pepper sprayed and maybe billy clubbed. The police, when they saw he was trouble though, should have just picked him up and spirited him away. If he's in college, his dorm room and laptop and computer needs investigating.
I've just watched the video for the 1st time, and i have to say i'm shocked. If this had happenend in England -with that many witnesses standing by - those officers (or security guards - surely they couldn't have been trained coppers?) would have been creamed by the crowd. They'd have been taken to peices, Keith Blakelock style. The most humiliating aspect to all this is that hundreds of brave liberty lovin' Americans stood around and watched gormlessly as an unarmed and harmless individual is repeatedly tasered without any justification whatsoever. Nobody's life was threatened apart from the poor guy being tortured, right there in front of everyone. Disgusting.
As for the article here, I see no relevence to the victim being Moslem. None whatsoever. Even if he was "one of the bad 'uns", he had no weapon and could have been dealt with using nothing more than a firm word, or, at worst, a simple armlock.
I hope both he and his torturers get justice. All those who just stood by instead of jumping the pigs ought to be ashamed of themselves. That ain't America. That's not even Mexico....
When people see the name CAIR they should get in the habit of writing their congress members and asking that the group be investigated. As Senator Chuck Schumer noted, CAIR is an organization with known ties to terrorist organizations. This organization should be investigated by congress and probably many of its members belong in prison. (Someday Ibrahim Hooper will write the book "Apostate" and folks will see (and hear)confirmed what they suspect-LOL.)

Domestos:
I guess you like breaking the law, eh? Beating up officers while they are trying to do their job? Sounds like obstruction and assaulting an officer. We lock people away for that criminal behaviour. Please don't tell me the ends justify the means.
I would wager the police tried to use a firm word and he refused to comply. Hence, more forceful measures are required. Besides, when you disobey an officer and his commands, there are consequences.
Also, the video does not cover what happened before taping commenced. This guy was a mouth piece and defiant even after he was tasered. Imagine how mouthy he was have been before that.
Did you notice his political commentary too? "There's your PATRIOT act for you," he said. Spoon fed the line from CAIR.
I can already hear this criminal saying in his many interviews (with his lawyer and CAIR representative standing beside him) "I was just walking into the library to study and was viciously attacked without provocation." You'll see, butter won't melt in this guy's mouth.
So jumping the Police is what would happen in the UK? Imagine this I have seen it, the crowd being anti-establishment, jumps the cops and then when they have had enough of them, they exit the Library in a mob. Proceeding down the street the enraged mob encounters a freshman female coming home from a friends and is attacked and brutally assaulted, when finished with her they move on, hunting for more victims. Yeah, those things do happen routinely. If the rules are show ID after 11, DO IT! There is a reason they ask for ID after 11, there are rapists in society. They like to prey on women in exactly those circumstances. By all means let us risk our own daughters safety, just so 1 muslim can do whatever he wants, after all that what they expect and deserve. But they already do that in the UK don’t they? Next time you need help call the ACLU, see how that works out. I cannot believe that people are so clueless they don’t see that this punks motives were designed to help his buddies down the road. That guy is a danger to the community that surrounds the area and the country as a whole. I want him to leave this “Godforesaken place asap.
I've watched the tape. This belief-system is a mental illness. It is a mental illness. This is psychiatric issue.
Domestos:
I forgot to ask...
Any chance you are a Muslim living in a Parisian ghetto who swarms an officer of the law trying to arrest a Muslim youth?
Why don't you move to the States and become a card carrying member of the ACLU. Help CAIR subvert US law!
The video is hilarious!
I couldn't stop laughing. Every time he was told to comply, I was hoping that he wouldn't.
And sure enough, he wouldn't, got stunned, and squealed like the pig has was. And he repeated that gig four times.
If he wasn't already a muslim, he should apply for membership, since he has the typical muslim routine down to the last detail:
1. act out
2. face the consequences
3. whine
4. seethe
If CAIR is getting into the act, they are in a round about way saying islamics don't have to abide by infidel laws. I'm sure this young wingnut thought he , being islamic , was above the law and shouldn't be held to the same standards as law abiding citizens. Well, he needs to go back and take obedience classes. It's the same as shutting ones mouth when the teachers says be quiet. If muslims are not taught to obey those in authority, they need to go back to their original cesspools.
Those kids standing around asking for police names need to show a little common sense. If they aren't smart enough to realize this guy was breaking the Library's law about I.D. cards, they need to have someone set them down and explain the differences in right and wrong.
Maybe a right and wrong test for new immigrants is in order. It might keep a lot of them out.
“islamics don't have to abide by infidel laws” Posted by: freewoman
Repost from yesterday,
He doest want to be touched by infidels. He appears to lose it when they put a hand on him. How can our culture deal with him when he is repulsed by us? This is typical behavior, notice how he thinks the UCLA library is a “god forsaken place” has someone in the past perhaps defined his view no matter what? He could have showed ID and they would have moved on but he wanted to invoke the Patriot Act as the real demon. They want to throw tantrums over ID, and claim brutality all in an effort to intimidate us and turn America into an area that is basically lawless or too scared to protect the majority of our own citizens. And finally, notice the students, their calls for the Police to stop or supply badge numbers. What about yelling for the guy to cooperate? I want their names, I want to be able to never live within 5 miles of these students. Most likely, there are no standards for good citizenship at the school and definitely not anywhere in that Library. Don’t count on these sheeple to save the world.
Do the rules apply to everyone, or not?
Is everyone required to show their pass in that library when asked, or everyone except Muslims? Surely this guy knew the rules. I bet there are signs everywhere in the library and reminders in the student newsletter, etc.
Is everyone required to obey the police and the rule of law, or everyone except Muslims?
This troublemaker was trying to prove that he was above the laws of the land. But now the case won't be about some arrogant punk trying to break all the rules because he is above them, it'll be about "Islamaphobia".
What a crock. I hope the legal system sets him straight.
And the media - Thank you, Robert Spencer, for that excellent analysis. "The mainstream media, it seems, is engaged in storytelling and myth-making. They are constructing a picture of Muslims victimized in the U.S. by racism and bigotry."
This is happening big-time on the CBC in Canada.
Oh, and I believe his screams were exaggerated. If his fear, pain and screeching were genuine, his heart rate would have been elevated and he would have been hyperventilating a bit. If he stopped hollering to speak, his voice would have been shaky and difficult to control. However, on the tape, he stops screaming and is immediately able to yell his rehearsed statements calmly and clear as a bell. In my opinion, that can only happen if someone is faking it.
His phony screams remind me so much of one of my brothers pulling a stunt when we were young. Mom fell for it every time. I guess the media, etc., are the Moms of Muslims everywhere.
The comments posted by Domestos shows why Europe is truly doomed. Mobs rule. example France where the police are regularly assaulted and chased by Youths
At 11 PM they go through the Library checking IDs. Only students are allowed to stay beyond 11 for safety and security reasons. My guess, this guy knew they would be coming through and he had his part down pat, his lines well memorized. Paleostainian Productions ring any bells? I refuse to play the part of the man w/o a brain in this soap opera.
BTW. In my youth, my friends and I wanted to know, what does a stun gun feel like, does it really hurt? Will it knock you out? So, we stunned each other. It’s shocking. However, it didn’t make us scream or cry. Stupid? No, bored and curious. There is a difference between a stun gun and a taser, a big one.
So drawing a weapon and firing on someone for staging a sit down is legal? NO IT IS NOT. The officers have broken US and international law and should get 10 years each.
I grew up in institutions (kids homes) where non-compliance was an everyday occurance. The most that needed to be done was to remove everyone else from the library, get some of the guys freinds to come to the scene and talk him down.
He didn't even need restraining, let alone being viciously attacked by ignorant thug "police" officers.
In the UK our police carry truncheons. Can you imagine a UK police officer drawing his nightstick and laying into a lone student for the crime of sitting down in his college library?
1) It wouldn't happen here
2) If it did, the "officer" would get 10 years
If Americans can justify this kind of depravity just because the guy's Moslem, then WTF are you fighting for? Just give in and join 'em. If that kind of injustice is socially acceptable, you're already halfway to sharia.
Congratulations, "patriots"...
What part of "Stand up" don't you understand?
English isn't my mother tongue. So, here are some of my thoughts on this topic, only as articulated by others:
One
and
Two
and
Three
and
Four
Thank you.
Domestos I regularly see videos out of the UK showing non aggressive cops being attacked by crowds thus in the UK mobs rule and your statements confirm this
"What part of 'Stand up' don't you understand?"
Celsius - Exactly. The rules are the rules, period.
If a police officer tells you to stand up, well, dummy, stand up or suffer the consequences.
In my limited experience, police officers have been polite, kind and helpful. They have also been large and intimidating and clearly the ones in charge.
God bless police officers: we need them. I feel safe when I see a police officer in my neighbourhood because I know they are doing everything they can to protect me and our society.
A policeman recently came to our door to ask questions about a neighbour. Later, the neighbour expressed disappointment to my husband that I had answered the policeman's questions. Well, duh, excuse me, lady, but if a cop asks me a question, I'm going to tell him the truth.
I knew it!
To all non conformists it is all about the muslims. I don’t care if he was a Christian, Hindu whatever, it doesn’t matter. BTW it is safer to stun than to crack a baton over someone. The stun is recovered from instantly. The baton, who knows? So who is really the International criminal here? I’m sure the majority of your country men don’t want the UK descending into an institution like atmosphere. The muslims set teens on fire and nothing is said, but let one get a small shock and every so called do gooder in the world comes out of the woodwork whining. Where was your concern when they poured acid on that other teen? Nowhere, that’s where. We are on to your BS you are not a protector you are a destroyer.
If the screwball was allowed to get away with not showing his ID at 11:00 O'clock, as he was supposed to do, and then at 11:15 he pulled a cord and blew half the campus away, no doubt the security officers would be prosecuted for criminal neglect.
Ihe real solution would be to institute Sharia law on the UCLA campus. That way If a student refuses to obey a lawful request to show his ID, he can be bured up to his neck, and then faculty and students can bash his brains out with rocks -- thus avoiding charges of Islamophobia, and, at the same time, making the barbaric tazer obsolete.
The perfect muticulturalist and diversity solution.
I hope both he and his torturers get justice. All those who just stood by instead of jumping the pigs ought to be ashamed of themselves. That ain't America. That's not even Mexico....

domestos or should it be dummyist the guy was brecking th law the law says you only use the amount of force needed the guy was not complying and all he had to was show id that he belonged there and he did not for all the police new from his attitude he could have been packing a conceled weapon given his refusle to cowoperate getting tassered was the least that could have happened to him frankly if it had been me i would have shot him
but then i am biased as my wife a few years back in fl was minding her own affairs camped out on the 502 causeway in her van waiting until morning to watch a space shutle lanch when 2 dark skined youths oppened her van door and said praise allah a infidel slut for us to f--k my wifes reply was to take a colt 46 from under her pillow and say i dont think so my husband is the only man to have taken me , run befor i shoot you. all she heard was o shit shes got a gun and the site of there backs as they ran , from the praise allah coment i asume they were muslims now STUPID SHE WAS IN DANGER OF BEING RAPED WAS HER INPLIDED USE OF DEALY FORCE EXSCEIVE i dont think so just as the cops use of non leathel with non complying suspect was a apropate level and the fact you call the cops pigs tells me 1 that you are probibly a muslim 2 that you feel muslims are above any infidel laws because they are muslims 3 imo your a jerk
Follow the (non sharia) law and you won't have a problem. Act stupid and pay the price. This kind of simple wisdom is what was lost in the 1960's cultural reveolution in the US. That's why we have so many "victims" today. Victims of their own stupidity.
islamakapigeaters - I'm glad your wife kept her cool and responded appropriately to those low-life criminals.
Okay I'm sorry for rubbing you guys up the wrong way, but please, what would Jefferson have said about this? I hope for the PD's sake that guy was over 16...
Last night Fox again aired Obsession, this incident brings to mind, the video taken in NY 2004 from the Islamic Thinkers Society where muslims took an American flag and a bullhorn, stood on the flag and screamed how they will never abide by american law.
Oh and by the way I have written my Congressmen on how important opposing house resolution 288 by Rep John Conyers is. I urge everyone to do the same. I may even send him a copy of Roberts book.
I am so sick of stories like these. It isn't even a 'muslim' thing. People pull out knives or guns or things that look like knives and guns or are just generally hostile and resistant to the the police (or in this case campus security) and they get hurt or killed and everybody screams about it.
In this case it's obvious this little prick wanted to make a statement. He screamed "here's your fucking patriot act!" and resisted. WTF does the patriot act have to do with campus security?!?! You can argue about the level of force they used and if it was appropriate but this guy went looking for a fight and now he's going to use this to get publicity.
IMAO reminded me of a funny Chris Rock video. It's on YouTube and it's called, "How not to get your ass kicked by the police". If you do a search on "Chris Rock" & "kicked" it'll come up.
What would Adams say?
On March 5, 1770 a small group of colonists were up to their usual sport of tormenting British soldiers. By many accounts there was a great deal of taunting that eventually lead to an escalation of hostilities. The sentry in front of the Custom House eventually lashed out at the colonists which brought more colonists to the scene. In fact, someone began ringing the church bells which usually signified a fire. The sentry called for help, setting up the clash which we now call the Boston Massacre.
Why did John Adams defend Captain Prescott after the Boston Massacre?
Adams believed that the rule of law should be paramount and that the British soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre deserved a fair trial. Adams successfully defended Prescott. However, his actions made him unpopular with the patriots in Boston for several months. He overcame this stigma because he defended the British through principle rather than sympathy for their cause.
Well, was he a student at UCLA or not?
Did he belong in the library?
All he had to do was leave, get his ID if he had one.
Nice point tgusa, though i think the moral of the story could be interpreted either way.
As to those who think tasering someone who may be in posession of semtex is a good idea, well, good luck with that...
Domestos:
Are you a troll? Using a tasar is not quite drawing and firing a weapon. I will grant the campus police may have handled this better (see Michelle Malkin's blog and a comment from a police officer) but this clown was clearly out of control and screaming like a lunatic banshee. IMO the police were very tolerant in this situation and repeatedly asked the person to stand up and leave. The fact he wouldn't do so and kept screaming obscenities at the police is clearly his fault only. Personally, I would have given the idiot a good whack with my baton and dragged him out to be charged with trespassing..
BTW - most of us in N. America know the situation in the U.K. where someone defending themselves is more liable to be charged than the criminal committing the act.
Domestos If the officers used excessive force they will be punished. I've had a run-in with a bad cop myself I complied with his demands and reported him afterwards I did not incite him and he was let go do to numerous other complaints.
I find fault with you implying that the crowd should have attacked the police and that is what scares the crap out of me. Either support the rule of law or anarchy reigns and Europe will fall all the faster under the heel of Islamists.
Sorry to have to break it to you, Domestos, but "international law" has no jurisdiction in America. We don't want empty headed foreigners deciding what we have the freedom to do.
Oh, please, Domestos. As if that punk was just sitting there quietly (like everyone else) and suddenly police jumped on him. The fool got what he deserved.
I don't care what nationality or religion a person is - act like a fool, you're gonna get treated like one.
Freewoman:
Spot on. Ideological Muslims/Jihadists are looking for confrontations with the infidel, especially in places with a high degree of PC, such as California, where the authorities are likely to be easily intimidated.
I remember a police officer writing to Michelle Malkin yesterday making exactly the same analysis as yours. The police should have carried the idiot away in no time. Instead, they procrastinated out of anxiety over how their behavior would be perceived by the PC watchdogs.
It's scary that perception of a law enforcement event has become much more about perception/what it looks like to an outsider than enforcement and resolution of the threat posed by the lawless to the rest of us.
Ovidius, I used to work with officers that after the first time of being told to stand, he would have been dragged or carried out. This guy had an agenda, and thought he could get by with it. He's proving he has no respect for anyone. Not even for the other college kids.
Domestos
The guy refused to comply, over and over. What part of "comply" don't you get?? He was asked to produce an ID and he refused. When told to leave, he wouldn't.
He was clearly looking for trouble.
The fact that he refers to "this godforsaken place" in his diatribe against the police should tell you a lot about his state of mind. He's one angry dude to begin with.
I think that Domestos may be looking at this from a Liberal (english) point of view. Yes, liberalism has let the French police to suffer casualities when there is no real reason for them to do so.
I was very badly handled. The library should have been immediately evacuated. At that point they could have beat the little shit all they wanted to. After the evacuation they could at that point, certainly filmed the event to show that he was a public threat and that his individual civil rights weren't abridged. He would have also incurred the wrath of his fellow students.
Yes, indeed, badly done.
Sir Oinks Alot
I missed the bit about the Patriot Act. That reinforces my belief the guy was looking for a confrontation on ideological grounds. He sounds like an America-hating dude, Muslim or not. He refers to "this godforsaken place" at some point.
Forget his Farsi/Muslim name. Judging by his actions only, he's clearly not a legal/illegal Hispanic, most of whom would never call the U.S. a "godforsaken place," would they? Nor is he the son of Vietnamese boat people, or of refugees from the Communist Gulags, is he? Or the son of Hindu Indians who believe it's a blessing to have their son study at UCLA after years of sacrifice.
Hmmmm. I wonder who's left.
Domestos said, "The most that needed to be done was to remove everyone else from the library, get some of the guys freinds to come to the scene and talk him down."
Basically, penalize all students and disrupt their study session because of this infantile brat. Right on. Better yet, move all Americans off the continent and let the Muslims have their way.
Muslim or Christian, Jew or Buddhist, if you disobey an order from a police officer, you get what is coming to you. These cops are not dhimma as this Muslim student thought. His whole chorus is well choreographed..."This is your PATRIOT act," he was heard saying.
Groundless Islamic ramblings.
a memo to Domestos and others:
A year or so ago, a nun had to change planes at a Saudi Arabian airport (she was from a western European country on a trans-national flight) and as she walked from one terminal in the airport to another she was accosted, manhandled, and received official censure from Saudi officials at that airport (for being Christian in an Islamic nation). The general reaction of the world was something to the effect of "so, what was she doing there anyway?" Yet when a Muslim gets treated in the same way in a western nation there is no end to the media outrage. What a double standard. The world is unconsciously transmitting the message that Muslims SHOULD be treated better than Christian and other non-Islamic people. There was absolutely ZERO outrage over what happened to this nun at the Saudi Arabia airport. Muslims I will have you know contribute absolutely NOTHING to humanity now or at any time inthe past that I am aware of. So why the H-E-double sticks should they receive preferential media treatment and public concern over ethicities and religious groups???? When the world's persecuted seek refuge it is nearly always in a western democracy and virtually NEVER in an Islamic one.
We might ask what Muslims are doing in the western democracies anyway. Generally they do NOT support democracy as they claim (the Kuran actually calls for its abolition) and they are explicitly forbidden to make friends with non-Muslims. As for the prosperity they supposedly enjoy here, there is no sign that they have any gratitude for it whatsoever. Muslims are primarily in the western world to destroy it, something of which they are 100% aware.
ps-You will notice that this man screamed his bloody head off througout the incident!! NOw, before you respond with a "Wouldn't you if YOU were being tortured" may I remind you that serious injuries preclude any recipient of these from doing anything so strenuous as high-level screaming. In other words, if this guy HAD really been tortured he would have been too severely injured to scream at the decibel level he did. So there's no way he was being subjected to genuine torture. And trust us, he will be and physically vigorous enough to slap the UCLA security officers with a HUGE lawsuit on the grounds that he was the victim of anti-Muslim torture.
As for your references to "international law" my friend----
In the words of Margaret Thatcher to Ronald Reagan "YOUR LAW DOES NOT APPLY HERE!"
You will also notice that the Muslim countries don't abide by your conceptions of "international law" either. It is only saps like the western Europeans who fall for that line!!!
The United States is a sovereign state the last time I checked! Our laws are made here not by some "international" third party (especially if they are Islamic). And we are going to keep it that way.
You Brits can keep your rule by the Islamic Caliphate all to yourselves. We here across the pond want nothing to do with that.
The very fact that CAIR jumped on the event almost immediately tells the entire story.
Period.
I just read on an iranian website the the iranian government is insulted by the treatment of this man and will support his suit of the federal government.
It states he is in the process of filing a federal suit against the US.
The PC Sheriffs in my county would have had this guy on the ground hard at the first sign of belligerence. He would be in jail, quite sore right now. Ca. police in most areas are not PC so I would not advise pushing them or not complying. It is simple, they ask you for ID, you produce it, they move along. Follow this link for a Ca’s viewpoint,
http://www.californiaconservative.org/liberals/mostafa-tabatabainejad-uclas-angry-campus-activist/
gaelen,
This incident was clearly staged for that very purpose. If anything, as was pointed out on Michelle Malkin's site, the campus police failed to use suffiecient force at the outset: when the troublemaker first threw himself to the floor llike a petulant child (touched by an infidel! The horror!), he should've been cuffed hand and foot and carried from the building..
tgusa
Excellent. I wish I had your mastery of American history.
Spiny Norman
Yes it's pretty clear that that is indeed the case here. Just a thought.....say this incident had taken place in an Iranian University. That young man would have removed to a nice comfy jail cell and never again seen the light of day.
Mert,
A little touchy about us Americans? We don’t call it our own, but since you mention it. During WWII there weren’t only Germans to fight. There were also Japanese. You know, those guys who would go to their deaths before surrendering, or use prisoners for bayonet practice. You guys weren’t exactly swarming all over the Pacific. So, the way I see it, we did our share. You guys have always had your wars with each other over there and we don’t usually jump in. However, anyone who wants to see anything bad happen to you guys is not on my side.
An Islamic troll named "maryam" posted this yesterday on another topic:
"Incidentally, it is the muslims who are "hated by all nations, persecuted and put to death" isn't it? Doesn't that make them the people Jesus (upon him be peace) was talking about?"
Have you ever seen anything more hilarious in your life? These people are trained to be victims of something. The very fact that they have to live in a world that STILL has a majority of non-Muslims is something to make them outraged.
But this is the mind-set of your common Muslim. Look at their propaganda. Everything that they teach their children in regard to jihad is spoken in terms of their victimhood. They are taught that Muslims are hated and killed on sight universally, when it is THEY who attack people of different faiths, and demand special treatment wherever they go.
Islam seeks accomodation and is accomodated wherever they go. Above and beyond that, they demand the non-Muslims in their midst to submit to their laws and customs, and leash out at the local authorities. Islam is a plague.
aargh fuggit. I think America is the greatest country in the world, and their cops are tough b'stards who know how to handle themselves... which makes it all the more disapointing to see them electrocuting a lone kid for non-violent protest, and all the more disapointing still that so many Americans would sacrifice their higher morals on the off-chance that he might be "one of them" - mussie, commie or just an idiot.
As to the "troll" question: no, i'm clean shaven ;P
Its a "shocker"!
Mert: And since when would resisting global jihad be YOUR (that is the UK's or Europe's) war????? I mean if the UK and western Europe (which I doubt) want to fight the global counter-jihad all by themselves they are more than welcome to do so on my watch. But jihad is now a global problem, is it not?
I distinctly remember that on 9-11-2001 New York City was the recipient of the deadliest single terrorist attack in history -- perpetrated by the Islamosphere (and partly plotted by al-Qaeda sleeper cells in Hamburg, Germany). So, America already HAS been dragged into fighting against the global jihad. In fact, America has usually been the planned recipient of Islamic terror all along.
Maybe you're still living in 1943, who knows.
As for your comments on America's reluctance to get involved in WW2 might I remind you that no European nation at any point in America's 230 year history has shown the slightest inclination of making a comparable sacrifice for America that
America made for Europe during WW2. And, given European antipathy towards America, please tell us why should America do anything at all for Europe at this point??? maybe Europe would like to reimburse the US for some of the three trillion it spent defeating Marxism in the Cold War (need I remind you that Commnunism was EUROPEAN in origin?).
There is no doubt in my mind that any European nation will ever at any time in the future make a similar sacrifice of any kind on America's account. I just don't see it happening.
So you can make all the innuendoes about America you want. The fact is America made more sacrifices for Europe than it will ever receive in return. Your criticisms don't reflect on America--they really reflect on Europe.
I mean imagine if the United States was responsible for igniting a global conflict that was getting millions of people slaughtered, couldn't stop it and had the nerve to demand that Europeans put their lives on the line to save Americans' lives??? COULD YOU IMAGINE SUCH IDIOCY!
Yet, in effect that is what you have told me Europe did and America was wrong for having misgivings about it and calling it 'its own'.
I am an American and don't ever remember anyone here calling WW2 "america's" BTW.
I suspect Americans claim WW2 as their own because it was their involvement that put an end to it. It was the Americans and not the Europeans I might remind you who shut down Germany's concentration camps and freed the captives held in them (that, too, might have had something to do with it).
And by the way, prior to the Iraq war, Bush called Blair aside and told him point blank the UK did NOT need to get involved in this conflict. Blair asserted that the UK would assist Americans. Remember that the next time you try telling someone that America "dragged" the Uk inot Iraq; this simply was not the case. The UK opted to stay with America on this. We did not "drag" you into this admitted quagmire (but a showdown between the west and Islam was inevitable, I am certain--and this was not it).
Do really you think the UK and Europe are going to tackle Islam by yourselves and defeat the Islamic world on your own? As we see it, Europeans are more than welcome to cut their noses off off to spite their faces by taking on Islam by themselves. We already have a pretty good idea as to where such an endeavour is headed.
Domestos,
The point is, these were PC campus security/police. If they had been non PC police you are right, there would have been no use of a stun gun, pepper spray or baton. So, the moral is… PC police are hazardous not only to suspects but also to themselves and all others in the area and the country as a whole.
Mert,
If I were the Pres you could have counted on a lot more than that. But we didn’t exactly turn our backs on you. Early in World War II the United States devised a plan, dubbed Lend-Lease, to assist the nations that were then fighting the Axis powers (Germany, Japan and Italy). The Lend-Lease Act was passed by Congress on March 11, 1941. It provided that the president could ship weapons, food, or equipment to any country whose struggle against the Axis assisted U.S. defense.
By retooling U.S. industrial output to the demands of war, Lend-Lease formally eliminated any semblance of neutrality. President Franklin D. Roosevelt summarized the Lend-Lease Act as "helping to put out the fire in your neighbor's house before your own house caught fire and burned down." In effect, it turned the U.S. into an "arsenal of democracy" following the eruption of hostilities.
Most of us remember the 1960’s, when many young Americans snuck across the Canadian border to evade the military draft, not wanting to go fight for their country in the Vietnam War. Few of us know or remember that just a generation before in the early 1940’s, a few thousand brave young Americans also snuck across the Canadian border, but with the intent to go fly with the Royal Air Force, so they could fight the Nazis in Europe before the menace reached our shores.

And lets not forget, the great Churchills mother was an American.
You people do realize that he may have not been able to stand up BECAUSE he was tasered the first time? Tasers disrupt regular muscular functioning- thats the basis of how they work. Sure the guy was causing trouble but he did not have any weapons or pose an imminent threat to police. Also note they tasered him again EVEN after he was in HANDCUFFS! If thats not brutality what is?
Here is how a real cop should behave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAgLd1Q5Bsk
Skeptic, perhaps when you are assessing proper police behavior from an abstract perspective unrelated to actual experience, your prescriptions make sense. However, in the real world, police encounter people all the time whose resistance to simple commands quickly and unexpectedly escalates into violent behavior far more difficult to control, and quite often dangerous to the police and innocent bystanders. Their rough measures are designed to rational pre-empt what happens too often in the real world.
While a student at Chabot College in Hayward, California, I worked as a CSO.
Asking for student ID's was a routine CSO procedure when interacting in that capacity with other students, and we were in constant radio contact with the College Security dispatch office.
1.Dollars to donuts, not one of the students witnessing that incident has a clue what the officer's written powers, limits, and procedures actually are.
2.Demanding the officers' names and badge numbers is just more stupid bravado (the reports contain that information).
I don't know everything about the incident or if the officers exceeded their authority. But neither do those students in the library, I'll wager.
The responses and observations of Domestos above demonstrate the mentality of an irrational prejudice. Characterizing what this Muslim did as "a lone kid [engaging in] non-violent protest" is absurd.
When police give commands to civilians, those civilians know they must immediately obey those commands, or suffer the consequences. In the U.S.A., we do not have a police state nor a dictatorship, so civilians here need not worry that police will be issuing frivolous and/or evil commands. (This may happen, but only in extremely rare circumstances, and it is against the law.)
Police are trained to assess when a situation is potentially dangerous enough that they need to exert their authority over civilians. A belligerent person with an attitude refusing to comply to police commands is exactly the kind of situation that is potentially dangerous, and pre-emptive measures are necessary, since in the real world, police have learned from experience that this kind of recalcitrant behavior often escalates into far more dangerous circumstances.
To forestall future problems of this kind, Sharia law should be adopted on the UCLA campus. Then any student not complying with a lawful reguest by security officers can be decapitated on the spot, or, if he prefers, stoned to death. Any Student or faculty member refusing to participate in the stoning can then be censored by the University for not being "inclusive".
This should send a clear message to the world that UCLA is indeed dedicated to multiculturalism and diversity on its campus
As to the "troll" question: no, i'm clean shaven ;P
Posted by: Domestos
what the heck does clean shaven mean? hell Atta who took a jet into the NYC twin towers was also clean shaven. look if you break the laws like the idoit and dont comply with police you deserve what you get. to bad they didnt just grab the litte turd and dragged him to the cop shop.
Skeptic wrote, "You people do realize that he may have not been able to stand up BECAUSE he was tasered the first time? Tasers disrupt regular muscular functioning..."
Read the post and links from Retina which explains how a taser works and the reaction caused by the body. Apparently, after a few seconds, a person regains full muscle control and is able to comply.
You know, it is people like Skeptic and Domestos who complained about police and their sticks, fists and guns. So we gave them tasers. Now they complain about tasers as inhumane. Perhaps the police should only carry rubber bullets, bean bags or appeasement negotiations to a crisis?
Continue to let them do as they feel, not obey the laws and eventually it will look like,
"Warning, hideously explicit images, not for the faint of heart or slight of stomach".

Counter that with a stun gun.
Domestos
The police represent society and when you attack police you're attacking society, is it any wonder coppers get heavy handed with the amount of billigerent anarchist types like you getting around...
The guy was being provacative and the cops were paranoid, if you were a cop and there is a middle eastern fellow acting this way in a public place you mind will be racing, it could mean all sorts of things and that's probably why instead of restraining him physically they stunned him. I think people including muslims should recongnize that racism exists and will always exist in all societies and communities including theirs and a small minority will be prejudiced, global islamic terrorism has made this more acute, and while islamophobia can be a problem the bigger problem is islamic terrorists threatening the lives of western populations. SO diverting the focus to islamophobia instead of focusing on the very real threat to lives including theirs is not a good strategy. Robust action has to be taken to prevent terrorist acts and sometimes mistakes will be made, This doesn't necessarily mean islamophobia. But I see the point Domestos is trying to make.
I saw a bit of this clip on MSNBC the other night. Immediately, I thought, this appears staged. The camera out of sight, filming the scene. The "activists" shouting their credos to make it look like the POLICE were the ENEMY.
David Horowitz' "Unholy Alliance" exposes this kind of c!@p, effectively.
tased......and tased............and tased..............and tased.........
in islam, he would have been shot once and it would have been over with nothing ever said......
You know, Muslims love to exploit western weaknesses so it was only a matter of time before they latched on our obsession with police brutality...
More of the same usual fare. As with the Rodney King tape, or that violent felon getting shot in Philly after a car chase a couple years , conveniently, the footage only contains the actual "police brutality", and as always, JUST misses recording any of the misbehaviour on the part of the "victim" that precipitates the police reaction. Bottomline is, all schools have policies that require students carry ID and show it to the campus police upon request because this is necessary for campus security. Since the individual refused to show ID, refused to leave, instead became agitated and verbally abusive towards the officers, the officers quite appropriately surmised that they are dealing with a trespasser who maybe about to assault them or someone else. They had three options in removing him from the library for everyone's safety...
1. Physically wrestling him out of the library
2. Hitting him to make him more submissive before ushering him out of the library
3. Tasering and then ushering him out of the library.
While one is the PC answer, it poses the most risk to the police officer. The individual could pull a knife in the scuffle, could pull the officers weapon and kill the officer (this is a very real danger), or the individual could simply physically assault the officer. Now, officers who have a lot of experience in high crime areas would quite possibly scope out that individual and feel fairly confident about simply wrestling him out. Campus police are likely to have less experience with these types of situations so it is rational that they chose the safer option 3. Did the police officers handle it in the best possible way? Perhaps not. Did they do their job without doing anything wrong? Yes. Anyone who continues to bait officers who are just doing their job as this guy was doing deserves to be tasered again. If every cop tasered a guy who refused his instruction to follow the law (in this case show ID upon request) and instead got verbally abusive to the police officer and adopted a physically threatening posture to police officers, we would have people very cooperative with police officers. If everybody acted like that idiot and the cops would have to taser everyone just to get them to show ID, we would have anarchy because policework would become impossible. Slippery slope works both ways. Right now we are too obsessed with "police brutality" to allow policeman to take control of certain areas, parts of LA for example.
"in islam, he would have been shot once and it would have been over with nothing ever said..."
Texican - Exactly... or his head would have been sloooooowly sawn off with a dull blade with shouts of Allahu Akbar.
@remote control,
Tasering him the first time may have been justified, but tasering him 4 more times after he was in handcuffs makes no sense. He could not have gotten violent because he was fully restrained. They could easily have carried him off. In essence there was no need to continue using the taser despite his refusal to get up. They can get him on charges for refusing to comply but they should not have tasered him so many times. I am sure they were not trained to do this type of thing to random assholes just for being assholes.
@Americangerman
Do you believe that the officer in my clip should have tasered that man?
@godfreyofbouillon
We are not discussing a hardened criminal here, ok? This some idiot kid who was obviously spoiled by his parents. Beating the shit out of a murderer is ok, beating the shit out of a whiny kid is not. There is a distinction there. Nevertheless, what you call "PC" has existed for many years. These "PC" actions are in fact standard procedure by most law enforcement. Police are professionals not thugs. What you are arguing for is the type of police that Nazi Germany relied on.
Okay I'm sorry for rubbing you guys up the wrong way, but please, what would Jefferson have said about this? I hope for the PD's sake that guy was over 16...

With all due respect, all this numbnuts needed to do was follow the damn rules and show his ID.....Instead, he chose to be an Islamist ass hat. He followed the Moslem playbook, and made a fool of himself. We aren't going to accept anarchy here from false victims who follow the words of false prophets. This ain't Paris.
Skeptic - wicked link. That dude and Basil Fawlty must've been seperated at birth. They should give him his own show.
GIA - Thankyou, i realise now i was wrong. If a kid screams when tasered, he deserves to be tasered again. And yes, that officer in skeptic's vid was just like a little girl, excellent observation. (?)
Zena - yes, you're right - clean shaven = terrorist. Another excellent observation. I doubt much gets past you...
Remote - "Domestos above demonstrates the mentality of an irrational prejudice"... Against who, the jumped-up hall monitors? Well then nail me up, Pontius. "Characterizing what this Muslim did as "a lone kid [engaging in] non-violent protest"" is not absurd - surely that was exactly why he was assaulted? The irrational prejudice is the McCarthyist attitude of those who think what happened here does not conflict with our values simply because the victim may have been Moslem - or that those who say so must be Islamic sympathisers. How would you feel if (god forbid) the same were to happen to one of us (say, aww i dunno... you? RS?) Thanks to others above i now realise these weren't "proper", trained officers. However IIRC the US has the highest incidence worldwide for taser-related deaths in custody, and I don't see how such measures were appropriate or wise in this instance. Granted, i don't know what led the officers to think they shoud react that way, but anyone on this forum probably has sufficient wits to talk someone down in that situation. The room should've been cleared, he'd have got up eventually by himself when he lost his audience and an appropriate response could've been implemented via the relevant administrative bodies on campus. I think the kid's a knob, but had I been there when the tasers came out i'd have stepped up in his defence. Evidently some people wouldn't, and that's fine. I still believe most Americans are bigger than that.
If the student simply accepted the rules for the library and simply his ID and not tried to draw attention to himself, this incident would not have happened. Also I did see the video and it looks like he made a fool of himself.
"I think the kid's a knob, but had I been there when the tasers came out I’d have stepped up in his defense. Evidently some people wouldn't, and that's fine. I still believe most Americans are bigger than that."
So let's say I'm a knob right? I pick a fight with some form of authority so I can make a 'statement' I make some badly acted dramatic accusations about the Patriot Act, passively resist arrest, get tasered and Bingo you come to my aid Domestos.
My Hero.
Jihad in the university library,
the hallowed halls of learning
about jihad and its push, push, push,
cause a ruckus, then push, push, push.
The jihadi works for the muslim brotherhood.
They are constantly testing our systems
to find weaknesses to use for their advantage.
How far they go is how far we let them.
Flush excrement down the drain,
swiftly with no hesitation.
Mold and mildew die back

If I saw you getting tasered for sitting in a library, yes, i'd bravely come to your rescue, if you wanna get romantic about it. Not because you're a knob, but in spite of it.
No "thanks" necessary.
oh , what a-to-do about not very much at all.
So the child got his 15 seconds of fame as a "victim". Bet he'd been praying for that character to play for years.
The cops reacted wrongly ( see the comment from a cop on the Michelle Malkin site ).
And?
I thought it was kind of funny really. He behaved like a spoilt little kid, waving his feet in the air, sobbing and blubbing like the indulged, immature brat he is.
He really lost it when an infidel touched his sacred body.
I mean, the nerve. Don't those non believers know their place?
Mert# Provide a link to a recent video that shows a situation where the British plod gets pasted and retreats. And I’ll donate money to charity.
I never said they ran thats France I was commenting that crowds with sufficent numbers feel free to attack law enforcement who are not acting aggressive. Breakdown of rule of Law.

if you wanna get romantic about it.
Don't flatter yourself
Domestos defender of knobs!
CAIR loves to defend these yahoo's until a terrorism link is found and then the person isn't a True-Muslim and has nothing to do with islam .
There's a case in canada where a Somali-Muslim refugee baited the Police and used a relative to video the action by the Police but
made sure there was no audio to prove the verbal insults hurled at the Police.
Here's the odd thing about the case , there was a dispute/fighting call to the Police and the cruiser responded as usual, but when most people would flee from a case where there may be guns
to harm them as a spectator , the Somali and his relatives stayed in the parking lot as if there was no fear for theirown injuries by violence.
The Police have very little time to ID the victims from the attackers , and this smart-ass Somali punk is seen leaning against a SUV front fender as the first Officer appears to turn his head to this punk to listen to a comment .
While the Somali looked great for the media later on with a suit and hair-cut all ready for the trial of Alleged Police brutality , in the video it is night time and he has the Ganstra look and arrogant body language , and the relatives have the headlights on while parked and they just happened to be aimed at where the cruiser would pull in and stop.
But here's the real big scam that nobody would go near for fear of Islamophobia and the fact the Law-Suit evoked "Racial-profiling" ( forget that it happened in a refugee area with African muslims almost the vast majority of the population ) by the Police that assume he was the agressor , a local Media Station had a Black reporter that covers the crime beat and came from
one of those Government Housing areas for refugees and Immigrants , and for 2-weeks he had the video evidence just prior to the end of the trial, he ran the video as a "News-Flash" update with a mysterous tourist coming forward with the
evidence found after viewing what was filmed once they got home.
The 12 minute clip was editted down to about a 1 minute highlight of the Police actions towards to Somali punk, but those Tourists were later revealed to be cousins from Montreal and not mysterous witnesses from out of town , and the lawyer played the media for fools by waiting for Police to tell their side to a Judge so the video with no audio proof could be pulled out to imply the Police lied in Court.
When you connect the dots for Shariah-law Muslims from Somalia claiming to be refugees
and the recent knowledge of Canadian-Somali refugees return home for the civil war and Jihad
from the money raised in canada , you may infer that several Insurance fraud cases against the Police are really a ruse to finance the Jihad backhome .
With holding evidence for a criminal trial
that could sway the Judges ruling is normally
contemp and punishible , but to-date all we see is the Somali paid off with a un-disclosed settlement and business as usual for the TV Station .
BTW, the reporter claimed Racial-profiling in the past when he was stopped by Police and searched because witnesses to a crime discribed a car a person fleeing the scene near where he was stopped and fit the Criminal-profile used to seal off the area and check cars.
Because of these endless claims of Profiling and islamophobia by the usual groups, the Police are now critized for not acting on crime in Black areas which we all know is becuase of the psychological terrorism to inflict a fear by Police to arrest any visible minority .
Citizen are livid that traffic violation are now taking up too much of the cops time and a study last week showed a 25% success rate for Police work involving arrests , but this too is from a fear by Judges to be labelled a Racist
for being equal with Black criminals that are perceived to be the victims of systemic Racism and poverty.
Those of you from Toronto know that our Mayor just got re-elected and part of his platform was more Policing in Minority areas to clean up crime and more money for basketball courts in these areas to give black youth a alternative to gangs and Guns.
The PC mind set is causing more victims of black on black crimes and allowing CAIR to
hijack the issue as Racism/Islamophobia which
they claims needs more Government funding to teach islam to all the non-Muslim bigots and Islamophobes.
The Elephant in the room is the fact that
we are dealing with kids from Welfare home with no father figure and a Mother that may have a few kids from different men and no plans to be self-reliant since Welfare has free dental care, health care, subsidized housing, legal aid , endless hand outs by 3 levels of Government , and the "Victimhood " mind set that Politicians love for Election campaigns to protect the poor and bring Social equity and Justice..blah blah blah bal blah blah.
Also, was there a similar protest and outrage of the students, when their peer in NC decided to take Jihad & Sharia into his own hands in Chapel Hill, NC with a rented SUV? See:
Biting the hands that feed
I have to admire Tab****. He stuck with his brief.
Whoever primed him for the "ordeal" he was to undergo, did a great job. It went like clockwork.
He went to the library and created a fuss. Then he resisted authority with a professional grade tantrum, forcing officers to react.
Now, CAIR and the campus lefties have something to parade around in public. Police brutality sells well in any market, especially on the Left Coast.
At the press conference, see the poor little Muslim who is a victim of senseless Islamophobia. And see the MSM gobbling it up like hogs at a feed trough.
Well done to the Islamists for another adroit bit of propaganda.
What should be done about it? Ho hum. SSDD.
Same s**t, different day.
Where do you hail from, do you live in CA.? If you think Ca. is a lefty state you need to stop watching so much TV. What’s your home state? I’m sure, given about 20 seconds, I could come up with some nasty remarks for it as well. Remember 9-11, where did it happen? Not in Ca. Where do the islamopologists seem to congregate? Not Ca. Where are all the terrorists being arrested? Not in Califirnia. Tell ya what, I won’t smear your state you don’t smear mine. Do you know what you sound like when you make assumptions of people w/o facts or try to label people? The muslims, that’s who.Do some reasearch on the wars and fighters of this country. Find out just what kind of people we raise here in Ca. When you are finished, you will understand just how lucky you are to have us on your side. You will be hard pressed to find a more loyal or bigger group of hard charging patriots in any other state.
"What's an ulcka?"
That's what I thought at first too, but not the way they were using it. It was in drive-stun mode, where the front of the taser is directly applied to the skin. It doesn't shoot the barbs into you, and it only hurts on that direct area and doesn't cause paralysis or lasting damage. It's used for incentive, not containment. If this guy had enough energy to scream about the Patriot Act and being a martyr, he had enough energy to either get up off the floor or tell them he couldn't.
And if we're going to judge the level of brutality by the volume of his screams, let's remember how he reacted to merely being touched by a police officer: "DON'T! TOUCH! MEEE!!!" I submit that this young man is prone to overreaction.
Interesting point regarding this thread.
The Taser and the Nuke.
Funny, not a lot of discussion about Nukes. Could it be that Americans have been down that Nuke threat road before? We seem to be more concerned with their attempts to weaken our society from within than we are about a Nuke. This is as it should be, after all there is not much you can do about Nukes on a citizen’s level.
